My sons ipod thinks its an ipad 2 and my ipad 2 thinks its a ipod 2
i am not sure where to post this so i have posted this under the ipad as well
I put my ipad 2 on to charge and sync it's data to my computer and my son had his ipod charging on the same computer
I have 2 accounts on my computer so he can have his own itunes library with out any of my app/games music etc
when i took my ipad 2 off my computer i was playing a game on it when i went back to home page to check my emails at the top where it said ipad 2 its showing ipod 2 and when i checked my sons ipod where is say's ipod its saying ipad 2
how do i fix this
all my app's games and music are all on my device
and all my son app's games are on his ipod
my ipad 2 will only sync to my itunes account as it needs a special passcode to sync
and will not sync to my sons account as he does not know the ipad 2 passcode its just the names at the top of each device are showing the ipod shows its a ipad 2
and the ipad 2 its showing ipod 2
if the ipad 2 had been restored to a back up if the ipods data or synced to my sons ipod itunes library it would have his apps,etc which its not and the same for the other device
however under itunes on my sons account the ipod shows up as a ipod and the ipad 2 is showing up on my account As a ipad 2 its just the device name at the top of each device thats wrong

I cloud is on for notes and calendar on both devices. They have the same default calendar. It's just wierd that i can write a note on the iPad and it shows up on the iPod, but not the other way around. Same with adding calendar events. What's going on?
First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing. -
My iPod touch is permanently disabled and it says to connect my iPod to my iTunes yet when I do that, it tells me to type in pass code even though it's still disabled. PLEASE HELP ME
I have the same problem with mine... but im trying to find a way to fix it without restoring it...
but one fix is to shut it down completely ... then press and hold BOTH the power button and the home button .. hold both of those 4 ten seconds .. then release the power button but still hold down the home button .. and then it'll show something that says "connect to itunes" once u get it connected to itunes , click the restore button ... BEWARE THIS WILL WIPE OUT EVERYTHING ON YOUR IPOD!!! IT WILL RESTORE IT BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS , AS IF U JUST BOUGHT IT !!!!! then it should work fine again .. but u will lose all data on there besides the things you have synced with itunes already..
Thats y im iffy with doing this , im trying to find a fix where i wont have 2 restore it but i dont think there is 1 :'(

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab. Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos. Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window. -
I have an old Ipad and an IPad Air. I used one Apple ID for both IPads. Now I wish to split the iCloud storage and separate the two. I want to change my new IPad Air to a New Apple ID. How do I do it?
Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account, and enter your Apple ID password. Then sign in with the new ID.
NOTE: "Delete Account" just means it will be deleted from the iPad. The account itself will not be deleted. -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

A month ago my iPhone was stolen, I turned on Activation Lock but it never came out BUT an hour ago somehow my apple ID was changed and someone removed from the account both my iPhone and iPad and the iPad was also remotely wiped. As soon as I saw it I recover the password and return the access to my iPad. But iPhone is not registered for my apple ID any longer. Can Apple help me somehow? I have all the documents and the iPhone box. Will they lock the iPhone and return me access to it. I'm sure it's been attached to another apple ID.

I have the IPhone, IPad and MacBook, IPad and IPhone share the same Apple ID and Icloud storage. Cannot make ID Change on MacBook as it says the ID is already taken. How can I make all three match?
The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

I gave into pressure from apple and updated my ipod touch, the sync failed and an error message then my ipod was wiped of over £300 worth of content! Why???? whats the point? whats the point of taking my music, videos and apps. is there any way i can retrieve my music at least?
Apps can be re-downloaded for free, and as you give the price in £'s I assume that you are here in the UK, in which case you should also be able to re-download your music as well - TV shows can also be re-downloaded here. Films can currently only be re-downloaded in the US (and not all films).

We have two Ipod touches and two Ipads in our home. Right now both Ipods are using the same used id and password to access itunes and sync music. But recently both os us have downloaded the Ibooks segment to our Ipads and now the only way to sync the second Ipad for Ibooks is to use the same used id and password. But the problem is that with our two Ipads in the home, we established two separate used ids and passwords one for each. Is there a way for me to still use the second Ipod touch and the second Ipad with completely separate userids and passwords. In other words to share the music library I have accumulated and yet to sign in each with our separate identities. That way the Ipads can sync and the Ipod touches can sync. Is this possible.
This is to avoid piracy. What could happen is, people could buy music, and give it away for free online. Usually it is then you buy a complete album off iTunes that it will only be available on one device. It is tied to that account, and the device must be registered to that account to listen to it.

IPad and iPhone Wrongly Think My Computer is Not Subscribed to iTunes Match
I paid for iTunes Match, my Mac Book Pro shows it is on, my iTunes has it on, and yet when I turn iTunes Match on in my iPad and iPhone, they ask me for my password, then both tell me:
"You are not currently subscribed to iTunes Match. Use iTune on your computer so subscribe."
I restarted everything, but the phone and pad still think the computer's not subscribed?

I have created a fixed layout epub file. I've viewed this in Indian iPad it disply seems good, but the same epub file i've viewed by German iPad its display vary. I dont know why this displays vary on iPad. This is iPad problem or iPad settings vary on different countries.

What is the difference between the 4th generation iPad and the "New iPad with retina display"? i don't quite understand. are they stilll the same size or would i have to get a different case?
The 3rd and 4th generation iPads are the same size. The 4 has a faster processor, and a little better iSight camera for FaceTime. The 4 also has the lightning connector so your old cable will not work with the iPad 4.
You should always check with the manufacturer of the case to see if it will fit. You can probably do that on the manufacturers website.

Mohammed Madoohit depends on when you bought the smart cover -Apple changed the polarity of the magnets on the new iPad - Smarcovers bought in late 2011 or 2012 should work - those bought before then will not - for awhile Apple was offering exchanges for free on smart covers that dont work on the new iPad - dont know if they still are - you can call an Apple store or Apple online
