My verizon rep told me re: 2.2

Below is cut from an email I recevied from my Verizon rep. I had emailed informing her of my frusteration on the mixed messages I am receiving regarding the update.
"Hi! I am so sorry your frustrated! That is not good at all! I am so sorry! I called tech support and talked to a Supervisor and he said that they STOPPED pushing the update out because it was causing problems with the phone. Those that got it got it and if you did not get it that was on purpose. The Supervisor said that Motorola is aware of it and they are going to re-release the 2.2 version."
No ETA on this re-release

That makes sense. Well, in that case, I would rather wait for all the bugs to be worked out before getting the update. I'm not gonna worry about it anymore. I guess I will get it, when I get it. Thanks for the info.

  • Verizon rep told me that the tracking info doesnt matter until we get an email from fedex?

About 4 reps said the shipped/not shipped info doesnt mean anything but if it wasnt a pre order, when it would have shiped. And to not trust it until you get an email from fedex.
So everyone shouldnt worry if it says processing, you will still get it.
And for the ones that say shipped, dont get too excited until around the 7th lol.
I really wish verizon wireless in general would confirm this though.

Did you call CS 4 times to ask the same question? I don't recall ever getting an email from Fedex for ANYTHING I've ever ordered online from Verizon or anywhere...unless I've requested on the fedex website to be emailed when I did the tracking...but I had the tracking # from the company I ordered from first.
Also, you may want to leave CS alone with the "when will this ship" business...there are people having computer issues trying to place orders and they're getting inundated with "when will this ship?" when the confirmations clearly say 2/10/11. If your order says it's been shipped then AT LEAST give it 24 hours to see if you get a tracking # before you call.
I mean seriously, most of us have waited for years for the iphone...can we wait just 1 more week?
You get an email from Fedex?  Or from the company? I don't think I've ever received an email from Fedex directly...I've gotten emails from the company I'm ordering from with a link to the fedex website and the tracking info, but never from fedex...

  • Renewed my Contract Based on Misinformation From Verizon Reps-Any Recourse to Get Out of Contract?

A few months ago (February or so) I renewed my contract with Verizon and got an iPhone 4S as my previous HTC phone up and died. I knew I was going to be moving to Canada for awhile and so I made sure to ask a lot of questions about their Nationwide+Canada plan and what phones would work in Canada before making any plan or phone purchases. From that point on I was fed different information from every rep I talked to in store, online via chat, and via e-mail. The online rep told me that CDMA phones wouldn't work in Canada so I had to get the iPhone 4S rather than the Galaxy Nexus, which was the phone I was originally interested in. Found out later that's not true—CDMA phones do work in Canada (at least in the part I'll be in; there are some more rural areas where they don't work). That rep also told me that my grandfathered-in unlimited data plan would work in Canada and all I had to do was pay an extra $20/month to get voice and texting coverage in Canada. So, I got the iPhone in the store and renewed my contract based on the information the rep gave me.
Came to find out later that you need a separate global data plan to get 3G coverage in Canada, which is $25 for a nearly useless 100MB. This isn't made clear at all on the Verizon website for the Nationwide+Canada plan, and I complained about this plus the misinformation I received from the in-store rep, and all Verizon had to say was, "Sorry, but thanks for being a customer." When the time came to actually go to Canada, I switched to the Nationwide+Canada plan to get voice coverage for the time I was there, which I did in a different Verizon store. The rep in that store told me when I signed up that if I used more than a certain percentage of my minutes in Canada vs. the U.S., Verizon would cancel my plan, which is also not mentioned on the website anywhere that I found. She also said that I couldn't suspend my account for the entire time I'd be in Canada because it's longer than their suspension limits, although she admitted she didn't know how long the limit was off the top of her head and I couldn't find an exact number on the Verizon website.
So, I was fed a bunch of conflicting information from multiple Verizon reps that led me to renewing my contract. Do I have any recourse to get out of it? I'm really disappointed because I've never had trouble with Verizon until now.

Apparently I'm not the only person who's been fed conflicting information from various Verizon reps when it comes to coverage in Canada: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/237079#237079
When I initially e-mailed Verizon about this issue, I told them that if their own employees don't understand what the company offers, then how are the customers supposed to understand?
It just doesn't seem right to have to pay the ETF when I only renewed my contract because I was given incorrect information by more than one rep. If I'd been given the correct information, I wouldn't have gotten a new phone that required a new 2-year contract.

  • Verizon Rep telling me to find a different carrier?!

I tried emailing this to corporate but got tired of looking around for an actual email address, so hopefully I can get a response here..
Let me start off with saying, I signed up with you guys about 5 years ago for a short time, I brought both my phones home and was getting continuous dropped calls, so I took phones back before the grace period was up and went to Sprint. Since then, we moved to Arizona for a year, then recently came back to Missouri. Sprint wasnt working out for us for multiple reasons, so I wanted to go back to Verizon as I have heard good things about them. We moved back to the same AREA as we were before when we had you for a few days. Before I ordered I was assured we had coverage at our address. Shortly after we ordered service we were out of town a lot, and when we were home, every now and then we did get some dropped calls, I can live with a FEW dropped calls here and there, but in the last week or two it has been unbearable! I worked from home today and I could not stay on the phone for more than 2 minutes! This is ridiculous! So I called in a few days ago to see what my options were, the rep told me he opened up a trouble ticket and will call me back and go from there. I guess they called my wife today (when I gave them MY number to call back on) and they left her a voicemail, it got deleted so I called in about 30 minutes ago, wanted to know what the call was about, I dropped call on the rep, he called me back, he was transferring me to tier 2 or something, while on hold I dropped again, I waited 10 minutes and he never called back, so I then drive two blocks away so I wouldnt drop call again, and this time the lady pulls up my account and comes back saying since our area has MARGINAL coverage and if I dont want to spend $249 on a network extender that I need to shop around for a different carrier! Really?! You guys are willing to lose a customer that has 4 devices and would have been more, and bill being $220-$250 per month because you guys do not want to help resolve this dropped call situation?? I am confused on how any company would just tell me to go to a different carrier??? Sprint and I had our differences but when we were in Arizona, they sent us FREE OF CHARGE an extender because they didnt want to lose our 7 lines that we had with them. I am hoping the lady I spoke with was just a new hire or something and I really hope your company doesnt do their practice like that. What I am hoping for is that someone can call me back so this can all get resolved without me going elsewhere.
    Thanks

The problem is no service or marginal service is not worth you paying for. Verizon actually gave you good advice.
Verizon is not Sprint. Sprint is bleeding customers so naturally they will give you a signal extender for free. They want to keep your account open and money flowing in.
Verizon sells their extenders. It only a business decision.
I would just look for another provider. However be aware Verizon may ding you for early termination fees per line up to $350 each.
The phones are not usable on any other provider so you have to buy new devices on the next carrier. So you will spend activation fees at the new provider. This is very expensive so you may want to buy the $199 extender versus over a few thousand dollars to switch.
A real pain but the choice is yours.
    Good Luck

  • Chat rep told me one thing and have log, now I get another but not in writing.

chat rep told me I could buy 4G jetpack and upgrade my 2200 mifi 3G without losing unlimited plan. He said if I did it online I couldn't do it but if I bought one retail, then I could switch and get 4G on the new jetpack. I have chat log in writing. Went out and bought the 4G device and it arrived today and I when to switch it today, the customer service person Melissa said she would get it done but now Verizon says both reps were wrong and they won't do that. I'm going to cancel my mifi and my cell phone now and charge them back for the purchase of the jetpack. I have all what they said I could do in writing but they won't tell me in writing that I can't do it. When speaking to supervisor, John Lloyd, my verizon phone cut off and rebooted (not sure if they did that?) anyhow called him back on another phone and he doesn't answer. Left voice mail twice trying to get escalation address. Verizon is clearly not worthy of my continued service.

This is the chat log with the rep.  The rep explained that upgrading online was not possible but buying a 4G Jetpack and then switching was ok.   See below:

  • Verizon Reps are inconsistent

I am so frustrated with getting different information every time I call.  A couple of months ago I was offered additional minutes for being a long time verizon customer ( probably 15 years) yet those minutes were never given to me so I ended up with overages.  I did get credited for it but no one can seem to find why the minutes wouldn't roll into my plan.  Last month I ended up over again because of it.  I called and am now told that I could have an additional 100 minutes for the same cost but they can't back date so I still owe an outrageous amount for last month's overage.  Had last month's rep told me about my option I wouldn't have had to be on the phone for the past half hour and wouldn't be paying so much more for last month.  In 15 years I have only ever been over minutes twice.  I am upset though that the first call didn't result in my learning about the additional minutes that I could have and then there wouldn't be this month of me being 67 minutes over.  Why can't every rep give the same story??????

Just so you'll know, anytime it looks like you're running short on your voice plan minutes, you can log into your "My Verizon" account or dial *611 and increase your minutes to the next larger data plan.  Just make sure you back-date it to the beginning of your current billing period or you'll get caught up in the proration issue that many people don't understand.  If you do this by calling, you can have the CSR go ahead and enter the order to reduce your minutes back down to your previous lower amount effective with your next billing date.  I did this twice in the past 6 or 7 months.  For me, the next larger plan is an additional $20 for the month it is in effect.
Also, in a emergency, you can call and request Verizon give you a special allotment of some additional minutes.  I did this once last year and they gave me 100 or 150 minutes a month for 2 or 3 months, I don't remember for sure.  These are special allowances and maybe not always available and you probably need to have a good track record of on-time payments, etc.  I think you can use this feature once or twice, but not on a regular basis.

  • Has anyone else noticed that the Verizon reps in here are just not very helpful?

Maybe its me, but I notice that the worse responses to someone in need come from those with Verizon customer service.  Its like they are not really paying attention to the question, responses, or problem and just type a pat scripted response with this annoying fake empathy.
    I'll start.
    Advice #1:
I think every Verizon Rep in this community forum should get a cell phone. An Android smartphone...on the Verizon network....one that just recently got the Kit Kat update.  I WANT THEM TO FEEL OUR PAIN!!!!
(From many of the VZW CS responses, its like there are clueless to what is going on. Like they don't have any experience with the cell phones problems we describe.)

  • Does it really matter if Verizon reps read posts?

Just read a few posts about Verizon reps not reading the posts on this board. Though that may be true, who cares if they do or don't?
If you are an unhappy Verizon customer and you voice your opinions, others will see it. Do you not think that is powerful? Every single one of these people viewing these posts will someday in the future be faced with the decision of staying with Verizon or selecting another carrier. This site is in fact very powerful with or without the eyes of Verizon upon it. The customers are the ones that make or break a company. My experience with Verizon has been a nightmare. We are very responsible, kind people and have been treated unfairly. The customer service with Verizon has been unacceptable. We have not been customers we have been victims to their incompetence and ability to solve problems and then harassed because we won't pay the bills that are not correct. Other people need to know this. Obviously by the contents of this site, we are not alone. This is not good news for Verizon. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. As I said, whether they see it or not, that has to matter. In my opinion they are shooting themselves in the foot with this site.

Our experience with Verizon is legitimate. Before I logged on to this site I was thinking it had to be an exception to their customer service. I thought for some unfortunate reason we had fallen victim to some bad luck with Verizon but I soon discovered different. I certainly wasn't happy to learn that anyone else had experienced what we have been going through but it opened my eyes to the truth about the way this company treats their customers when problems do occur, as they will with any cell phone company. I saw a few complaints that were unwarranted but most of what I've read associated to customer service have been parallel to what we have experienced therefore confirmed in my mind that Verizon does not care about their customers time or frustration when trying to solve a problem related to their company.

  • Can any Verizon Rep confirm that CBS Sports Network is now part of ExtremeHD?

It seems that CBS Sports Network has now been added to the ExtremeHD package but I've yet to find any official word from Verizon. There is a thread at DSL Reports that confirms ExtremeHD customers can now receive channel 94 and PrimeHD cannot so that rules out any Free Preview. Would be nice for Verizon to be the first to notifiy their PAYING customers about channel changes, like the Tennis Channel last year, but it seems it's always after the fact.
Any Verizon Rep care to comment?

  • HT201407 Verizon has told me that the Apple voice mail servier is down and that is why I cannot activate.  Is this true?

I just switched from AT&T to Verizon and traded in my iPhone 4 for an iPhone 5.  I am not able to activate my voice mail. Verizon has told me that it is an Apple problem.  Does anyone know if that is true?  Also, before my iPhone 4 started acting up I bought a new radio with a dock for iPhone/iPod. The 5 has a diffierent recepticle.  Is there an adapter to convert 4 accessories to 5?

Verizon is misleading you.  Apple does not provide Voicemail servers.  Voicemail issues are usually caused by the carrier.

  • QUESTION FOR THE VERIZON REPS???

    Sunday- 3/24/2013
    To Verizon Reps,
Please will you find out both what is and why were the VECTOR FONTS part of the Charge Phone's latest FP8 upgrade???
Where are they located in the Charge phone?
How would I use the Vector Fonts?
    Thanks and best regards,
    JerryF

    3/31/2013
    NickB_VZW  (VZW Customer Support),
Oh well to bad for me because the Vector Font was NOT downloaded with my latest FP8 update.
As you described I went to Settings>Display Settings and the same four "old fonts" were still the only Fonts  there.  BTW, they were:  Default Font, Choco cooky, Cool jazz, and Rosemary.  NO Vector Fonts.
Thanks anyway for trying and I am happy to report that it's not the "end-of the-world" because they are not there!  If you ever hear anything more regarding Vector Fonts please let me know.
    JerryF
PS,  Re your question, both my i510 Charge phone and my Wife's have been running very well...thank you.

  • Verizon  rep lied to us.  We were told that we could get a $30 gift card( each) for our two old phones.  THe gift cards could be used  for paymen in our  V/zon bill.  WHen we went to the Vzon store to turn over our old phones, we found

We were lied to by Verizon- , I believe was the rep at corporate.
. They told us we could turn in our old phones and get two $30 gift cards to be used as $60 credit on any Vzon bill.
When we went to the store to turn in the old phones, the manager, Gilbert, stated all he could do is talk to his super and request a $30 gift card. Initially they offered us $1 for each phone( basic recycling reimbursement).
I was promised $60 in gift cards for  credit against the $60 in upgrade fees charged to  us.
Disappointed again.  COnnectivity is great but their customer service reps lie and, overall, their customer service sucks!
