Does it really matter if Verizon reps read posts?

Just read a few posts about Verizon reps not reading the posts on this board. Though that may be true, who cares if they do or don't?
If you are an unhappy Verizon customer and you voice your opinions, others will see it. Do you not think that is powerful? Every single one of these people viewing these posts will someday in the future be faced with the decision of staying with Verizon or selecting another carrier. This site is in fact very powerful with or without the eyes of Verizon upon it. The customers are the ones that make or break a company. My experience with Verizon has been a nightmare. We are very responsible, kind people and have been treated unfairly. The customer service with Verizon has been unacceptable. We have not been customers we have been victims to their incompetence and ability to solve problems and then harassed because we won't pay the bills that are not correct. Other people need to know this. Obviously by the contents of this site, we are not alone. This is not good news for Verizon. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. As I said, whether they see it or not, that has to matter. In my opinion they are shooting themselves in the foot with this site.

Our experience with Verizon is legitimate. Before I logged on to this site I was thinking it had to be an exception to their customer service. I thought for some unfortunate reason we had fallen victim to some bad luck with Verizon but I soon discovered different. I certainly wasn't happy to learn that anyone else had experienced what we have been going through but it opened my eyes to the truth about the way this company treats their customers when problems do occur, as they will with any cell phone company. I saw a few complaints that were unwarranted but most of what I've read associated to customer service have been parallel to what we have experienced therefore confirmed in my mind that Verizon does not care about their customers time or frustration when trying to solve a problem related to their company.

  • Burn speed - does it really matter?

FYI I use iDVD 6 and am wondering about the burn speed issue. I was given a stack of . . . um, no yelling from the gallery please . . . TDK 16x dvd-r and I really cannot see any quality difference between a 2x, 4x, or 8x burn as some posters claim. Should I? If I use a superior dvd as suggested in the forum will it matter?
BTW I think the quality of my slideshows on my TV (4:3 18 yr old Sony 32") are beyond acceptable. Shimmering edges, pixelization, shakes etc. are not problems I've encountered but maybe this is for another post.

Depends on the burner. If you own an old pioneer DVR-103 thru 107 then I'd say yes burn speed will matter (slower is better for older systems). But if you own a Pioneer 110U or higher (found on newer systems mainly) then burn at the speed you see fit.
Can't say I'd recommend using TDK nor Memorex medias on older macs, But many newer macs have no issues at all. You may be one of those people. I would suggest you at least try using Verbatim or Maxell DVD-R and see if you notice any quality difference on your own system or set top DVD Player/s.
Now here's the thing, you may not see any visible difference today, and maybe not even in a few months. But I can almost guarantee you will see a difference in a year or two from now when the organic dyes in this lower quality media begin to fade and render your DVD (or at least parts of the DVD) unreadable.

  • Does Convergent really work with Verizon for Collections?

    Hi There!
I had some issues with Verizon a few months back, i won't get into the details, but needless to say i was ****** off enough to cancel my service after 11 years of being a customer.
When they added up my last bill + termination fees it was around $1000, i don't tend to have that kind of money laying around, so i offered to make payments of a few hundred bucks a month ($200-$300) and was told that wasn't good enough, if i wasn't going to pay half at once they didn't care.
So i have let it sit there and kept contacting back to see if i could set up a payment plan.
I just got a letter from a Convergent Solutions the other day saying they are handling the collections on the account on behalf of verizon, and they have offered me a settlement for 60% of the debt. However, when i googled them, there are a lot of blog posts and things about them being a scam, and people who have paid them but still been contacted by verizon for the balance they owe. There are also over 200 disputes that had to go through BBB to be resolved.
I have contacted Verizons Customer service and gotten no response
    So my questions are:
    1. Is convergent really working on behalf of verizon, and if i pay off the settlement with them, my account will be rectified?
    2. Convergent says they do NOT report any accounts to credit agencies. However they cannot promise that Verizon will not report it as negative, even though it's been paid. (Potentially negative as "Delinquent: Paid/Closed") Honestly, if it's still going to show up as a negative on my credit, i'm less motivated to fork over my whole tax refund to pay it off....so i would only want to pay it off with an agreement from Verizon/Convergent that it will not be reported to the credit agencies.
Anyone have any advice/suggestions? The settlement offer expires on 1/31 so i'm on a short timetable, lol.
Thank in advance for all your help!

    Hello lookn_glas_shrd,
I think the majority of us have been in the position you're in, and I would like to help you with your situation. The amount of information I am able to see depends on how long it has been since the service was disconnected. I would have to access your account information. I assure you that I am an employee of Verizon Wireless. Please send me a DM (Direct Message) with your name and your mobile number, as well as the zip code of your billing address. If I cannot view the necessary information, I can assist by pointing you in the right direction. Once I see the account, I will be able to gather the necessary data and provide you with 100% information. More importantly, you will be provided with peace of mind in knowing exactly what's going on and how we can resolve this together.
I look forward to hearing from you!

  • I want to purchase an ipod classic in england but i live in spain will i  be able to use itunes the same way to download music, does it really matter  which country you buy your ipod

does it make any difference if i buy my classic ipod in another country, i live in spain (dont speak spanish) & have itunes already on computer, but will be buying my new ipod in the uk, cheaper!

I would recommend trying to purchase an iPod in the United States. iPods sold in the EU have the volume control crippled.

  • Renewed my Contract Based on Misinformation From Verizon Reps-Any Recourse to Get Out of Contract?

A few months ago (February or so) I renewed my contract with Verizon and got an iPhone 4S as my previous HTC phone up and died. I knew I was going to be moving to Canada for awhile and so I made sure to ask a lot of questions about their Nationwide+Canada plan and what phones would work in Canada before making any plan or phone purchases. From that point on I was fed different information from every rep I talked to in store, online via chat, and via e-mail. The online rep told me that CDMA phones wouldn't work in Canada so I had to get the iPhone 4S rather than the Galaxy Nexus, which was the phone I was originally interested in. Found out later that's not true—CDMA phones do work in Canada (at least in the part I'll be in; there are some more rural areas where they don't work). That rep also told me that my grandfathered-in unlimited data plan would work in Canada and all I had to do was pay an extra $20/month to get voice and texting coverage in Canada. So, I got the iPhone in the store and renewed my contract based on the information the rep gave me.
Came to find out later that you need a separate global data plan to get 3G coverage in Canada, which is $25 for a nearly useless 100MB. This isn't made clear at all on the Verizon website for the Nationwide+Canada plan, and I complained about this plus the misinformation I received from the in-store rep, and all Verizon had to say was, "Sorry, but thanks for being a customer." When the time came to actually go to Canada, I switched to the Nationwide+Canada plan to get voice coverage for the time I was there, which I did in a different Verizon store. The rep in that store told me when I signed up that if I used more than a certain percentage of my minutes in Canada vs. the U.S., Verizon would cancel my plan, which is also not mentioned on the website anywhere that I found. She also said that I couldn't suspend my account for the entire time I'd be in Canada because it's longer than their suspension limits, although she admitted she didn't know how long the limit was off the top of her head and I couldn't find an exact number on the Verizon website.
So, I was fed a bunch of conflicting information from multiple Verizon reps that led me to renewing my contract. Do I have any recourse to get out of it? I'm really disappointed because I've never had trouble with Verizon until now.

Apparently I'm not the only person who's been fed conflicting information from various Verizon reps when it comes to coverage in Canada: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/237079#237079
When I initially e-mailed Verizon about this issue, I told them that if their own employees don't understand what the company offers, then how are the customers supposed to understand?
It just doesn't seem right to have to pay the ETF when I only renewed my contract because I was given incorrect information by more than one rep. If I'd been given the correct information, I wouldn't have gotten a new phone that required a new 2-year contract.

  • I love my Verizon, yes I really love my verizon that the only reason behind this story

    Hi there,
I love my Verizon, yes I really love my verizon that the only reason behind this story but the service made me hate the same Verizon. When I took the Verizon connection I was so happy because I am doing a right thing. but now I feel the same that I have done a wrong thing.
    1. Gift Card is reaching me till now.. hope I will get it when my contract ends!!!
I ordered this FiOS service by February and got a offer of 200$ gift card from Best Buy... I am getting the card till now.. no tracking.. no response... whenever I call them the response is really very nice. the call will be on hold for about an hour and then a voice will come then I have to explain the situation for about 20 mins, then he/she find the gift card is delivered to some other address. Then give me a waiting period of 3 weeks. I have waited atleast 5 * 3 weeks, between these period of time atleast 20 calls to you guys.
Don't you think how lucky I am... ha
A GREAT customer service.. which made me so happy. Thank you one and all.
    2. Billing Issues:
I took a plan called FiOS freedom bundle offer. It costs  $ 94.99 when I ordered, but later I came to know that is excluding taxes, that is fine so the total expected was some where around 105 to 110 $. But how great it worked for me... I haven't paid that less amount till now. see how much I paid till now...
    Month Amount
    March $189.53
    April   $120.07
    May   $120.07
    June  $113.40
    July   $113.39
and now the story begins again...
    August $152.83
Whenever I call the customer care to ask clarification they will tell "**this will not be charged from next month". But there will be no answer why that was charged. I never even thought of writing this big story to some one like you but I am really sorry to say if this continues then your business will never endup in success.
Please consider this as me one and only request and do something.
$200 worth of Best Buy gift Card and
Take away all the additional options in my package and give me the bundle offer bill I ordered $94.99 + Taxes. I wont encourage paying not even one dollar more than that.
With lots of worries on my ever best Verizon,
    James {personal information removed for privacy}

Does eLive really exist in Adobe Premiere 13? Can´t find it.

Thank you for your answer. Sorry I duplicated my question and that I mIssed your  first answer. I find it fairly confusing navigating for help, specially as I am not a native English speaking person. It was not easy to find the link specially as it says that Premiere Elements comes with a tab named eLive and without you help I would not ever have found it. I desperately looked for that "tab" in the program itself.

You already asked this question yesterday, and I answered it promptly.
Adobe Premiere Elements 13 comes with a new tab called eLive. Where is it?

  • Creative Cloud - Does Adobe REALLY Care About Customers?

I hope the staff at Adobe are reading these forum posts.
    First question: the following quote
As far as the future of CS applications, in his Adobe MAX keynote, David Wadhwani said, 'We have no plans' to continue perpetual licenses. We are not ruling that out in the future.
Just exactly what is meant by this statement? Is Adobe already looking for a back door if the Create Cloud doesn't pan out? I really would like to know what this means. It sounds ominous and dubious and it sends mixed messages.
As far as the Creative Cloud model goes, is this really a benefit to your customers? I can see it might make Adobe a lot of money (if you don't lose a vast majority of your customer base) but how does it really benefit your customers? Your loyal customers? The customers that made you the rich company that you are today.
Speaking for myself, I do not use all the programs that will be available in the cloud on a regular basis. During the summer when I don't have classes, I don't use some programs at all. But I have to keep paying whether I use them or not. If I stop paying, I will lose access to my software. How is that a good thing for me?  For the majority of your customers? You think because we pay a monthly fee that most people won't equate that we are having to fork over more than $300 a year? In some cases over $600 a year. And it never stops. How is that good for the majority of your customers?
Do I really need to have the latest software constantly? No, I don't. But you are now forcing the issue whether I want it or not. Forcing your customer to do something does not seem like you really care about me.  About us.
What about my students? We have hundreds of students that go through our Adobe software classes each semester. Every student told me they would not go with the Cloud, either because they don't have the money or they were going to protest Adobe's "money grabbing scheme" (one student's actual quote). The students sure don't think Adobe cares about them. If the students stop taking the classes because of the software access, then we start cutting sections. Does Adobe care about that? I'm sure no, but think about those hundreds of students each semester that will no longer be learning to use Adobe software.
Adobe is putting a stranglehold on its customers and the customers are going to say  enough is enough.  Perhaps new software (open source?) will emerge to take the place of Adobe. Perhaps people using InDesign will go back to QuarkXPress. Perhaps enough of these former Adobe customers will force Adobe to check their hubris and greed at the door. But maybe not. The world will move on, one way or another.
One thing I am supremely sure about is Adobe has got it really, really wrong on the Creative Cloud strategy.
BTW, you might want to read the following link entitled Adobe Creative Cloud:  Lopsided Legal Agreement. It is not pretty:

Nice sentiments, could not agree more.

I hope this occurs across the globe with students ("potential" future Adobe customers) whom may be hindered in their monetary abilities but not in seeing the truth towards what it being placed upon them by Adobe concerning the Cloud mirage. This is a great opportunity for educators to truly educate their students about Adobe.

  • Large data usage transfer every 6 hours while on a WiFi network, who is doing this transfer? Is Verizon polling my phone causing this usage?

I have three iPhone 5s. All are using my WiFi while at home. One iPhone is sending data over Verizon's network, not WiFi, every 6 hours or so. The time of this data transfer changes every few days. I see data usage number on my Verizon account ranging from a few kilobytes to almost a gigabyte. Is this due to Verizon polling the iPhone for data usage and billing purposes on a regular basis? And what do these billing numbers mean? Where does Verizon get these numbers? Any running apps while on my WiFi should use the WiFi, not Verizon, correct?

I'm having the same issue and this month these data pulls equated to 1891.51 MB!!!
Model: iPhone 5S 64GB.  Today I received a notification from Verizon that I had exceeded my data plan.  I just went through my entire usage detail report on my phone and separated-out everything that appears to be part of a 6-hour pattern.  When I'm at home and most of the time while I'm at work, I am connected to wifi.  These data pulls often happen in the middle of the night, when I know for a fact that my phone is charging and connected to wifi at home.  Below are the results of the pattern analysis.  Keep in mind that I removed all lines that, as far as I could tell, were not part of a 6-hour pattern.
THE PROOF: You sent me three alerts immediately after pulling data from my phone.
The first alert said that I had used 75% of my data plan on 8/11/2014 at 9:45pm while I was at home on wifi.  There was a data pull logged at 9:45pm which was part of the 6-hour pattern above.
The second alert stated that I had used 90% of my data at 10:46pm on 8/14/2014; the data log shows a pull just before the alert at 10:45pm.
The third alert telling me I had used all of my data came today while my phone was sitting next to me, connected to wifi at the office.  The alert arrived at 12:48pm, the log shows a data pull at 12:48pm.

    How about an explanation Verizon?

  • Does the iphone 4s use verizon towers through straight talk

They use spectrum for AT&T, Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile, if that's what you're asking.

I am having trouble with the initial connection of the apple tv. I have isolated the problem to the cable/connection. My new hdmi cable has a resolution up to 1080p...does the resolution matter?is this the right hdmi cable for the apple tv?

There are only two types of HDMI cables (standard and high speed - listen to all 1.2, 1.3 etc etc nonsense they will try to tell in the store) both types will work with the Apple TV.
The cable may be faulty though, have you got another to try, what exactly is happening.

  • Has anyone else noticed that the Verizon reps in here are just not very helpful?

Maybe its me, but I notice that the worse responses to someone in need come from those with Verizon customer service.  Its like they are not really paying attention to the question, responses, or problem and just type a pat scripted response with this annoying fake empathy.
    I'll start.
    Advice #1:
I think every Verizon Rep in this community forum should get a cell phone. An Android smartphone...on the Verizon network....one that just recently got the Kit Kat update.  I WANT THEM TO FEEL OUR PAIN!!!!
(From many of the VZW CS responses, its like there are clueless to what is going on. Like they don't have any experience with the cell phones problems we describe.)

  • Does it really take 3 weeks to arrive?

Hello, I ordered my new G10 laptop on Feb 21st and it is showing that I will not be getting it until March 13th. Originally before placing the order it said 7-10 days. How can that jump to 3 weeks instantly? Does it really take this long? If I had known this I wouldn't have placed the order and unfortunately there is no straight forward way to cancel as I need the computer asap.
Anyone with past experience have thoughts?

Probably not.  Which app and what kind of system and internet connection are involved?
