My videos play on my ipod but without sound! HELP!

i have converted them on itunes and they play with sound on itnues. i synced them on to my ipod fine and they play but without any audio!
Please help

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select

I'm having the same problem. All suggested fixes from Apple have not worked. I get the same picture in the corner, and the menu screen will show up too and play music, show the screen shot in the corner for each of the scenes, but no movie will play. I'm at my wits end -- I hope someone has a new fix to try.

Hi all,
We're creating videos to be played on iPhones and iPod touch's. The videos are working fine on my iPhone 3Gs but won't play on my iPod touch 1st gen or a 2G iPhone. I've had a look and the supported video list is exactly the same on all iPhones and iPod touch's so I'm at a bit of a loss.

I can't play video's on my IPOD, but they will play fine on my computer

I downloaded some music videos and some TV episodes to watch on my IPOD. I had no trouble downloading them, and they will play on my computer, but when I try to play them on my IPOD, it doesn't work correctly. It will show a little box up in the top left corner with a frozen shot of the beginning of the movie, and the sound will work, but I can't actually see the movie! This is a recent problem, when I first got my IPOD I didn't have any trouble playing movies on it but now I do. HELP!

I have one Ipod Video 30g I converted one video to the Ipod but when I opened the file it was without sound and is happening with all the videos that I have, the image is OK but no sound at all!!

Now you know why i ask,
windows or OSX,
It will only access OSX on a Apple Mac i suppose,
with the integration of iTunes.
Therefore save all that's on your iPod first if it important,
then Re-format iPod using disk utility,
up-plug iPod, then reconnect iPod
then it should come up in iTunes, asking bla, bla-bla,
Follow the instruction, from there all should be fine!

Videos are on my iPod but I can't watch them anymore.

I got my iPod for christmas 2005 and have never had any problems with it other than it randomly pausing in the middle of a song, but it doesn't do that anymore. My problem is that I have several movies and tv shows on it that worked fine and I had watched them several times on long trips. A few days ago I hooked up my Ipod to my friend's computer and all of my video files no longer have the little Tv icon next to them in iTunes. They wont play on my iPod, only on the computer. Sometimes when I put my iPod on shuffle it will shuffle to the movies and skip them imediatley. I have watched all these movies on the iPod before but my only guess is the iPod is now recognizing them as songs and not video files. Its kind of making me angry since I spent a while converting all the videos and after I put them on my iPod I delete them off the computer, I don't really want to put them back on. My friend did have a very old version of iTunes when I plugged it in so I figured if I updated his iTunes the little icons would show up next to my movies again, but no such luck. I don't know what to do. I just want to know if there is any way I can fix them so they will play on my iPod again.

An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.

You will then need to restore the iPod and then let iTunes update your iPod and put your music, videos, etc. back onto your iPod...

Movies will play on my ipod but there is no sound

After downloading movies to my computer I can play them in quicktime player. I can download them to itunes, but when I put them on my ipod after converting them the sound doesn't play. I figured that the sound doesn't play because it says its "muxed". How do I get those videos to play with sound or is the video too corrupt to play altogether?

Do these videos still play okay in iTunes? Are you receiving any error messages about certain items not being able to transfer because they cannot be play on your iPod?
How do you have your iPod set up to sync? Automatically or manually? Do you also have the "sync all checked songs and videos" option ticked from under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes? If so, make sure there are tick marks next to each one of your videos in your iTunes library. Then try re-syncing your iPod and see if that helps.

i put videos on itunes just like songs, and convert them to be playable on my ipod. but when i watch them through the ipod, theres no audio. if i watch them through itunes on the computer there is audio. help!

If the videos are multiplexed MPEG files then the audio and the video are muxed onto the same track. QuickTime, and therefore any application that uses QT like iTunes, the iPod, iMovie (Mac app), etc. expect two separate tracks, one video and one audio. So when you convert these muxed files, the video is played and the audio is not heard.

So you need to do a conversion on the file first. MPEG Streamclip is a popular one that comes in both Mac and Windows versions and is known to "repair" this problem.
There are other applications that can do this as well. Try searching the iLounge.com web site for more conversion help. But your root cause is the muxed MPEG files.

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

for the key clicks try to go under settings>sounds and see if the "change woth buttons" is pushed to ON. and try to change the volume when your clicking the keyboard
if that doesnt work, then try playing a song to see if your volume is down, or if your speakers are capoot

Video plays properly in iTunes but not on AppleTV via Airplay

I converted a few AVI files to MOV using Quicktime X and then imported the file into iTunes. The videos play just fine in iTunes, but they cannot be played on my AppleTV via Airplay. All the videos appear to load onto the AppleTV (control/play bar at bottom of screen appears), but one video does not play at all and the others only play audio. Again, they all play perfectly in iTunes.

Try Using Handbrake (free) to transcode to M4v or mpg4 files....... thay are supported by ATV2 nand will appear fine. .avi is an old compression scheme and is not suppoted on ATV2
