Download the Cleaner tool from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Once you run this tool. Select the Reader as option instead Acrobat.
On go to the ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.3/en_US to download reader and install.
Please dont run the cleaner tool, if you have installed any Creative Suite application.

    Hi,
Adobe Acrobat gives an error message "The key file is missing, canceled" this is a direct translation of the Finnish error message. Acrobat is already re-installed. The operating system is Windows Server 2008 R2, and there is also installed Adobe Reader X.

Please let us know do you see this error on every launch of Acrobat?
Recommended is to have latest version of Acrobat and Reader. i.e. 10.1.8
Try updating application and then see if you still encounter the error.

Could some one give help and let me know where I can probably find the settings option that allows me to change and switch to previous situation where it was possible to decide time to time how to proceed either opening the file or saving it ??
    Thanks in advance

    What is your operating system?
Open a PDF from where?  If online, in what browser?

    Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble logging in to ExportPDF via Reader. I've checked your account, and all is well there.
For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader installed by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you're still having trouble logging in via Reader, please try logging in to the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,

  • Can Adobe Reader 11.0.10 be downloaded to Windows XP?

Firefox tells me that I need to update my Adobe Reader.  I have 11.0.84.  I recently learned that the most recent version of Adobe Reader is 11.0.10.  When I try to do a download, the version 11.0.10 is not provided.  I am wondering since I have Windows XP, does that mean I can no longer get the latest version of Adobe Reader on my computer?  Please advise.  Thank you.

    Hi Pwillener,
I am so glad to hear from you.  I wanted a trusted source for a download.  I saw something online "Oldapps.com" or a name like it and you click and it just starts downloading and I got nervous so I got out of it.  I like to see what I'm downloading.
With the link you provided I need the Norton Anti-Virus UNCHECKED because I have ESET NOD32 antivirus on my computer.
Do you know if the Norton Anti-Virus is unchecked in your link?  I will await further word from you before doing the downloading.
Thank you so much.  I imagine that this 11.0.10 will be the last one that can be downloaded to a Windows XP computer.
Thank you again for all of your wonderful meaningful help!

If you haved tried all the fixes and suggestions, there is not much to add. Just in case: did you really try using this tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to first eliminate all traces of Reader, and then use the full offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/?

  • I cannot open Adobe Reader even though I have downloaded it 4 times,  What's Wrong?

I have downloaded Adobe Reader 4 times, but cannot open it.  What's Wrong

You mean you get a message telling to LAUNCH Adobe Reader and accept the licensing agreement? In that case you need to launch Adobe Reader, as it says, not download it again!
As with all apps on the Mac, you launch it by finding the app in the Applications folder, which you will find at the left side of any Finder window.

  • Cannot Delete Adobe Reader 9 Installer after failed download

I tried to download Adobe Reader 9 and the installation froze around 83%.  After multiple attempts I tried downloading an older version (Adobe 8) and it worked but the installation folder for Adobe 9 is still on my desktop and it will not let me delete it. I have already tried using the Windows Install cleanup tool but it did not work. Any other ideas on how I can get rid of this installation program?

Thanks.. I managed to find a way to make it work.. I had no Adobe Reader in my list of programs when I went to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove..  I took a  chance and deleted Acrobat.com.. that allowed me to reload the latest v of Reader.  I hope it didn't mess anything else up.

I had same situation. Was able to delete by the following: (don't know why)
In Windows Explorer dragged the Adobe AIR folder from Desktop to another folder (which
removed it from the desk top display). Then just deleted it from the other folder.
    Hope it works for you.

I look forward to hearing back from you so we can get this mystery sorted out.

Is it the Download assistant that is freezing or is it the web browser that freezes?
