My Windows Store (beta) is missing MS Office 2013 Preview apps

I used to have Win 10 TP (9926) on dual boot setup, and I had MS Office 2013 Preview apps installed.
Lately I removed the dual boot and installed Win 10 TP as the sole OS. At the same time I installed various programs I use regularly, one of which is MS Office H & S 2007.
Only today while reading a question about 2013 Preview apps, I decided to look for them in the Beta Store.
The 2013 Preview apps are no where to be found.
Not that it matters. I just wonder what happens ?

Have you tried typing "office" in the search box up at the top?  That's how
I found them.
As for the apps them selves, they worked once for me and never again, no
matter what I do. (some apps work, some don't in my installs)
Bob Comer
That will give me my installed 2007 version, not the 2013 Preview.

  • Cannot install PIA on Windows 8.1 64-bit with Office 2013 64-bit

I am building a clean machine after a hard drive failure.  Everything is finally reinstalled WITH THE EXCEPTION of the Office Interop for Office 2010.  I have a clean install of Windows 8.1 which also has Office 2013 installed.
The documentation for the 2010 library is that it only requires the framework 2.0 present (which is) so it should install.  However when I run the installation program is throws up the window "determining requirements" runs for a few seconds
    then disappears.
All I need is to get these things showing up in the GAC so I can get a clean build.  But try as I might I don't have them showing up at all.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    ADDITIONAL INFO:
When I run the MSI file it brings up the window that says it is gathering information.
This run for about 1 second (if that) moves the progress bar about halfway across, then stops and closes down the installation.
We also installed Office 2010 and reran the PIA with the same results.  *sigh*

Why do you need to install Office 2010 PIAs?
Consider embedding interop types into the assembly without using PIAs on the end user PCs.
Beginning with the .NET Framework 4, the common language runtime supports embedding type information for COM types directly into managed assemblies, instead of requiring the managed assemblies to obtain type information for COM types from interop assemblies.
Because the embedded type information includes only the types and members that are actually used by a managed assembly, two managed assemblies might have very different views of the same COM type. Each managed assembly has a different Type object
to represent its view of the COM type. The common language runtime supports type equivalence between these different views for interfaces, structures, enumerations, and delegates. See Type
Equivalence and Embedded Interop Types for more information.
You just need  to set the Embed
    Interop Types property to True.

Reboot PC in Windows 8.1 without any DVD media inside, this time Windows 8.1 will be able to recognize the Bluetooth and install the respective drivers.
Another way, install the latest release from Broadcom BTW_12.0.0.9820 from the following link:
                                                                            BTW_12.0.0.9820.zip

Windows will not be able to see the device in the “Device Manager”
Last step, use your own Windows 8.1 Pro Key and Office 2013 key to register and activated your legal copy of the Microsoft software’s.
    Final, enjoy.

  • Save to Sharepoint Option gone missing in Office 2013

Hi - I used to be able to save to SharePoint from Office 2013 apps by going to file, save as and under SharePoint I would have my sites pinned for ease of access. they then vanished and although it works in the same way I now save under 'other web locations'.
Have Microsoft removed that option in an update or something?
    Thanks
    Rhys.

    Hi Rhys,
I could reproduce this issue in my environement.
And I found some posts about this issue, it seems to be due to a Microsoft Update, however, I cannot confirm it.

  • Cannot uninstall Office 2013 Preview

Firstly the standard route via Control Panel would not work – it just sat there for ages preparing to uninstall, but doing absolutely nothing as verified in Task Manager. So
I looked at the recommended manual uninstall procedure (support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501)
and the first step there is to navigate to %windir%\Installer and then find all programs in the ‘Microsoft Office <product name> 2013’ family, right-click and select ‘Uninstall’.
Again (choosing MS Access as the first product to manually uninstall), the manual uninstall also sits there doing nothing just like the Control Panel uninstall did earlier. Any help with this would be much appreciated - I really don't want to be stuck
    on MSO 2013 Preview..

It appears to be totally impossible to uninstall this software!!
The quote from TheHoaryHound above seems spot on!!!
The installation of the paid Office 365 Home Premium version on my first PC, an almost Dell new 64 bit Windows 8 desktop system, worked fine.  Yes, this install saw my preview version of Office 2013 already there but it successfully removed it during
    a 3 1/2 hour process.
Office 2010 is still installed on the 1st PC too and both versions are working (although the paid version Office 365 has some obvious bugs).  But the 2nd PC has been real grief.  That's an HP laptop
running Windows 7 Pro.  I just can't seem to rid myself of the Office 2013 Preview no happen what I do.  Here is what I've tried so far:
    1.  Ran MS Fix It twice and rebooted each time afterwords.
    2. Ran the Office 365 paid install so many times I've lost count.  I thing the number is 5 because the first time it just died after 6+ hours.  (5 failed installs = 1 failed install + 2 Office 365 installs after running the preview uninstall
"Fix It" + 2 Office 365 installs after uninstalls via the control panel.)
Granted the failure was probably due in part to high demand combined with scheduled maintenance done by my ISP who'd sent me a "mea culpa" email saying I should expect problems.
Each time rebooting of course.  Microsoft THINKS it's installed because they've decremented the install counters to 3 installs remaining.  However, when I click on a Office 365 app (any, all apps)
the preview is back yet again.  (Sorry about the small type that's either a IE10 thing or a website thing.  I didn't change fonts.
    3. Ran manual uninstall of the Preview, also twice (and rebooted two more times.)  I think that totals 5 Office 365 failed install attempts.  (What is that quote about trying the same thing twice
    and expecting different results?)
     4.  I also have Office 2010 installed on the the laptop PC I'm having trouble with and I really need to keep it there as there's some legacy MS Access stuff I have to support.
Does anybody have a good solution other than Fix It or the control panel that does not include uninstalling Office 2010?
I'm completely baffled... re-installing Windows is not an option.

  • My Acrobat tab is missing in Office 2013

I have office 2013 (Windows 7) and Acrobat XI (Creative Cloud). I have always had an Acrobat tab and have used it successfully many times to create PDFs. Recently it has gone missing. I no longer have the tab, and I can no longer create PDFs. I can still print to PDF, but this does not create any book marks for headings and such in Word, so the PDF is not very useful to me. I frequently create large documents and really need that feature that the ribbon tab gave me to be able to have all the Word headings converted to bookmarks in the PDF.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling: Acrobat, the PDF Maker, the PDF Maker and Acrobat, and Office all to no avail. This morning I unistalled Office and Acrobat, rebooted, then reinstalled and still nothing. When you open Options in Word, it shows the addin is not checked (disabled) If i try to check it, it does not take. I mainly create PDFs from Word, so this is my primary concern, but I also checked the other Office apps. In Outlook, it shows it also unchecked with a message below that says there was an error loading. Excel and PointPoint interesting enough show the plugin loaded, but there is still no ribbon tab, nor buttons.
    Here are some images:
So I am at a loss. I am not sure how to fix this problem, or what caused it in the first place. As it used to work just fine on this computer.
Any assistance is apprecaited. Thank you.

When you post, do not expect an immediate answer. We users do not live on this site and check periodically. However, one of us is often around. I was considering replying about doing the updates when I got to your second post. Actually 11.0.01 is even old. You should be able to do updates from the Help menu in Acrobat or download them from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. The updates generally have to be installed in order (most are not cummulative).
WORD 2013 was released after Acrobat 11.0.0, requiring the updates for Acrobat to properly operate. Even if a beta was available, Adobe does not generally target the beta for updates since they are often totally different from the final release, wasting a lot of programming time on the part of Adobe.

  • Acrobat ribbon missing on office 2013 (specifically outlook and word)

I just downloaded acrobat xi on my desktop PC w/ windows 7 professional.
The acrobat ribbon is missing on outlook and word programs.  I tried the troubleshoot recommended by adobe and it does not work.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Mardic,
Compatibility with Office 2013 has been added from Acrobat 11.0.1 on-wards.
You need to update Acrobat for the pdfmaker to appear in Office applications. The latest version is 11.0.10

  • Windows 8.1 system with new Office 2013 install not pulling down any Office 2013 updates from my SCCM 2012 SP1 server

    Hi,
I've just setup a new Windows 8.1 system and added to my SCCM 2012 SP1 server and all is good and it pulled down all the correct Windows updates and pulls down automatically the FEP updates that are distributed from SCCM 2012 daily.
I just installed Office 2013 on this system and have activated it as necessary.  The problem is that the system doesn't seem to be pulling down any of the Office 2013 updates that have distributed thru SCCM.  I have other systems with
Office 2013 installed and they have pulled down Office 2013 updates in the past when I published them.
If I look at the Office 2013 updates in the SCCM console software section, I can see that for example it shows that Office 2013 SP1 (x86) is needed by one system and installed on 8 other systems and shows as downloaded and deployed.
I've restarted the new system multiple times and also tried to force a software update check from the Configuration Manager applet but nothing seems to happen.
What can I check to try and determine what the problem is?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

Yes, the 8.1 system is a member of collection where the update deployment is targeted.
Are there any specific logs I should check in the client?  If I check the WindowsUpdate.log I can see messages about the machine pulling down the FEP updates but that's all it appears to be doing.
in CCM\logs, focus on the updatehandler and updatedeployment, to begin with

  • Option Save As - SharePoint missing in Office 2013

    Hi!
I have installed Office 2013 Professional plus on a Virtual machine. For some strange reason the option Save As - SharePoint does not exist. Only Skydrive Other web locations and Computer are visible. But on another VM also the option Sharepoint is visible.
    Excel version 15.0.4535.1507
Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition is installed on the same server
So far no rescue on google.
Has anyone seen this problem and knows how to deal with it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
The option Save As - SharePoint would not exist when Office 2013 initial installed.  After you save a file to a SharePoint library for the first time, you can click
Save as you do for any file. This is by design.
    Thanks.

  • Office 2013, Mail app error with W8.1

    Hi,
Was recommended to repost in here, hope someone can provide a solution.
New to this forum, have searched and not found anything in regards to my actual issue.
    Problem,
When you install Office 2013 Home and Business onto Windows 8.1 either an upgrade to 8.1 or a fresh install, I've found the mail program in Control Panel won't open.
You can't call apon the program from RUN or CMD, you can't even call apon the Mail app from Program files\office 15\mlcfg.clp right click and select Open in Control Panel.
This issue has arisen with Windows 8.1.
scenario, New Dell OptiPlex 3020 & 9020, You Install Office 2013 Home & Business either OEM or the OEM Builder pack, before or after then run the Windows 8.1 upgrade from the Store, attempt to open the Mail app in Control Panel and the
    Mail app ceases to respond.
Yet, you are able to open the Mail app before the upgrade.
I just did a fresh install for a customer of Windows 8.1 OEM on an ACER laptop, tested with OEM media and the OEM Builders Install package, 32x & 64x installs and both failed to open the Mail app in Control Panel.
Actually the first install I performed didn't install the Mail app icon in Control Panel at all.
The only way I've found to rectify this issue is to run a full repair from Programs in Control Panel, which takes a while to run.

    Hi ATR80,
As this thread has been quiet for a while,I would like to know if the issue happend again after you solved the issue by running a full repair from Programs in Control Panel?
If the issue persists, please try the method as I mentioned above to see if it works.
Meanwhile,if you need further assistance, feel free to let me know. I will be more than happy to be of assistance.
If the suggestion is helpful, please remember to mark it as answer which can benefit others who may encounter the similar issue as yours.
If you have any concern about this behavior, you can just unpropose it.

  • Office 2013 VL App-V 5 packages

    Hi,
We are currently assessing the possibility of deploying Office 2013 as an App-V package since support for VL was announced with MDOP 2013 R2.  I would like to create three independent packages:
    Office 2013
    Project 2013
    Visio 2013.
I have successfully created the three App-V packages and they can all be imported an published independently.  When I deploy more than one package to the same machine the existing package is un-published and the new package published. The aim is to
be able to deploy the Office App-V package to everyone and only deploy Visio and/or Project to certain users.  Currently I can only achieve this by creating multiple App-V packages all including Office (i.e. Office + Visio, Office + Project and
Office + Visio + Project). Is there a supported way to have independent packages of Office, Visio and project 2013 which can co-exist on the same machine (for example, could I use connection groups between the independent packages?)
    Thanks.

You should be aware of a few things:
Office App-V Packages must be published globally due to the OS extension points some of which won't work if published to users. See this article for more details: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn481351.aspx
Office, Visio and Project in separate packages may impact the user experience
Volume License editions of Office are licensed per device, so targeting users may place the organisation in breach of the licensing agreement

Thanks for your answers guys. It does seem the only way to achieve this is to have a single App-V package and use multiple configuration files to determine which combination of applications are published.  Far from ideal...

  • Office 2013 Std (local) in combination with Office 2013 Pro (App-V)

    Hello,
I have multiple RDS servers, that have Office 2013 Std installed locally. I did this on purpose, after reading some blogs pointing out Office 2013 is a complicated applicatie to stream well. And of course Office 2013 is highly critical to my clients.
So I have a local installation of Office 2013 Std on every RDS server.
The catch is, that the client also has an open license for Office 2013 Pro. This is because some users need to work with 'Access 2013'.
So I thought it would be nice to use App-V to stream Access 2013 to the RDS servers. I have created the package for Office 2013 Pro, with Access in it. And I succesfully published Access 2013 to the group of users. So I can use Access on the RDS servers.
The problem is, that when I click on the appliation "MSACCESS.exe", the application pops up in taskmanager and is immidiatly shut down again. So it never launches. No error, no nothing.
I can't find any directions in the server, applicatie or App-V logs in the eventviewer. Does anyone have a clue where to look?
    Thanks in advance

I think to be on a safe side, using a 'true' control system like AppSense or using dedicated RDS servers would be the only legally valid option.
Even when Office (or at least Access) is virtualized, the licensing part and product key handling is done natively on the RDS servers by the 'Office 2013 Deployment Kit'. Besides others this includes a locally installed 'licensing stump'. Therefor there
can be only one Office Suite product key be assigned to a RDS server machine.
In fact you could tell the Deployment Kit to use the Office Pro key (allowing a virtualized Access to run), but then also the locally installed Office Version would (attempt to ) be licensed as 'Pro'. That potentially won't work. In fact you could re-configure
the local Standard Office installation to consume Pro licenses, but that doesn't fit to your legal licenses.
As Aaron write, legally an Office license is bound to the endpoint device, so you'd have to make sure that your Access App-V package can only be access by permitted client machines. And while App-V can filter application on the accessing user and the executing
machine, it can't filter on the accessing end-point.
Though we don't like it... 3rd party or a server silo seem the way to go.

  • Publishing office 2013 on app-v server

    Hi,
I'm trying to publish an office 2013 package that I have created using the ODT.
The technet guide (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/dn817830.aspx) I am using is telling me to use this command 'Add-AppvClientPackage <Path_to_AppV_Package> | Publish-AppvClientPackage
–global'  from the client and then 'From
the Web Management Console on the App-V Server, you can add permissions to a group of computers instead of to a user group to enable packages to be published globally to the computers in the corresponding group.' from
what I can see it has worked as in I can now open word, excel etc.. but the package has not  appeared on the appv server yet to allow me to configure permissions. Before attempting the above command I tried importing the package directly into the app-v
web management console but the app-v client could not see the package although it was in the correct security group.
    Any pointers?
    Thanks

+ note that it may take several minutes (10+) before a new published package appears on the client

You need to be running 9926. If you are, it should be pinned to the taskbar
by default. If it isn't and you go to All Apps on the Start menu, you
should see two store icons. The grey one is the one you want.
