Mystery of ES2 Filter

I trying to understand why by increasing resonance it cuts the mid freqs? as far as i know resonance is the peak of the set freq so if my cut off is at 16000khz it should only increase the top end??? but now...hmmm, how wide is the resonance? maybe its all over the band, lol...

Yes, that's as expected. Increasing resonance is making the bandwidth of the filter more and more narrow - cutting off even more higher and lower frequencies.

  • E4X Filter Mystery in AS Class

    Hi,
    I have a very mysterious behaviour when I try to filter an
    XML - depending on the place where I apply the filter expression.
    The app should show a datagrid that displays a XML that can
    be filtered via a combobox.
    I have attached 2 code examples. The first one shows all the
    code cramped into one single mxml file
    while the other one shows the filtering code being moved
    outside into a AS class for capsuling reasons.
    The interesting part on the AS class is that as soon as I
    want to apply a filter expression to the XML
    variable "source_" it delivers me an empty result set.
    Even if I create a static filter expression something like
    "source_.Statement.(@division=='A')" -
    the result is always an empty result set.
    I am completely stunned.

    First, if you used an XMLListCollection, you could just use
    its
    filterFunction and not have to go through so many
    convolutions--the logic
    would already be encapsulated in a class that Adobe was nice
    enough to
    create for you that has been through QA and everything.
    Second, what has the debugger told you about what's going on?

  • File type filter mystery

    I am filtering by file type because I want to make sure all of my RAW (NEF) files are converted to DNG. When I now filter by RAW within the file type I have 467 files there. These files are DNG files and I cannot figure out why they are showing up as RAW's. How can I fix this? With my workflow I should not have any RAW files in Lightroom...
    Thanks,
    KEvin

    I have seen this probllem of misreporting DNG files as  raw, but it was quite a while ago (LR2) and think it only happened when the Convert to DNG command was used. There must be a bug in there, but I've not been able to recreate the problem recently. For a quick fix, I'd suggest saving the metadata back to the files, then removing and re-importing them (using the Folders Synchronise command if they are in lots of folders). Hopefully you've not too much stacking or collections assigned to these pictures.

  • Active Directory Not Syncing Correctly in ES2

    Hello,
    We had our Active Directory 2003 synced up using Adobe Livecycle ES.  There would be around 30,000 users that would be synced and this would take around 3 - 4 1/2 minutes to run.  This worked perfectly for us for the past half of a year or so.
    Last week we upgraded to ES2 and moved all of our processes over.  We removed ES and did a fresh install of ES2.  Everything seems to be working fine now except the Active Directory isn't syncing properly.  When we run the sync, different numbers of users will be fetched.  Sometimes it's around three thousand, sometimes seven thousand, sometimes ten thousand, but it never seems to get through them all.  In the server log it does say that the directory synchronization completed successfully though even though the number fetched is changing.  We made sure the settings are exactly the same as they were before, and we even tried a few different settings, but it still doesn't get all the users.  For testing purposes, we tried changing the search filter to pick specific people that aren't showing up during the normal sync and it will show up fine, so I'm wondering if there is something stopping it from going all the way through?
    We also have another enterprise domain connected which has around 2,000 users on it and have not had this problem with it.
    Here are some of the sync statistics from the past few syncs: (The active directory name has been stripped for security purposes).  If you need any more information please feel free to ask.  We would like to have this resolved as soon as possible.

    We do have quite a few that are missing an attribute, specifically:
    2010-06-06 21:05:47,579 WARN  [com.adobe.idp.um.businesslogic.synch.LdapHelper] Record [xxxx] is missing required attribute [objectSID] for canonicalName i.e uniqueIdentifier field
    This is something that was on our old system as well:
    2010-05-25 03:02:35,559 INFO  [com.adobe.idp.um.provider.directoryservices.LDAPDirectoryPrincipalProviderImpl] UserM:: [Thread Hashcode: 3010887] This record is missing a required attribute and cannot be used. Specifically CanonicalName is null. Common Name: xxxx
    We have many users in our active directory with just email accounts so that users are able to search for a name and find the email address in outlook.  I have checked through these and they look fine (though there are fewer entries in ES2 since there are fewer users being fetched).
    As for the locked users, here is what we received:
    2010-06-06 21:05:47,579 INFO  [com.adobe.idp.um.businesslogic.synch.LdapPrincipalProvider] Found [1257] locked users while synching. These users were ignored
    This sounds about right for the amount of users that were fetched.
    If you have any more questions or ideas, please let us know.  We would like to have this resolved as soon as possible.  Thanks.

  • Filter for one hierarchy and expanding for another one?

    Hi to all,
    We've a dimension A with 2 different hierarchies (call them as usual PARENTH1 and PARENTH2).
    What I've been asked by the users is a little interface, where they can:
    - filter for one parent of the first hierarchy
    - expand for the parents of the second hierarchy, who share the same base members.
    Initially I had hoped that imposing the value desired of the parenth1 in the PageKeyRange, and expanding with a filter like HIR="H2" and HLEVEL="2" would work, but it doesn't work (I get ALL the parents at level 2 of the second hierarchy, not the parents who shares the same basemembers).
    Is it possible to model this with an evDRE? If so how? Unfortunately, I cannot make a single hierarchy (this parents aren't in a 1-N relationship between them, unfortunately).
    Thank you
    Daniele

    Hi James,
    could you explain more in detail your solution? Because I tried it, and it didn't work as I expected...
    Let me explain with an example
    Hierarchy1:
    Dir_01 has got 4 basemembers (test1, test2, test3, test4), while Dir_02 has got other 2 basemembers (test5, test6)
    Hierarchy 2
    Es1 has got 3 basemembers (test1, test2, test3), Es2 has got 1 basemember(test4), Es3 has got 2 basemembers (test5, test6)
    What I would like to do is to
    - filter an evDRE with Dir_01
    - "expand" (I believe i've wrongfully explained myself in this point) with the other Hierarchy, which means: I want in the report only the nodes in the hierarchy 2 that share the same basemembers
    In this way, I would have as available keys in my evDRE report:
    Es1
    Es2
    With your solution, I even get Es3, which doesn't have any common basemember...
    Kind regards
    Daniele

  • PS CC – Brush size in Liquify filter

    Hello, who can help me? Since I have Photoshop installed CC works there the possibility to change the brush size by pressing the ctrl + alt key especially in the Liquify filter anymore. Anyone know the problem? The same problem I have with the zoom function. In PS 6 I was able to press the alt + space key and while moving the mouse in the image in or out back. also that no longer works?
    I look forward to your feedback.
    Thanks + Regards,
    Sascha

    You are the greatest R_Kelly!  Now it works – THANK YOU!
    But it´s still a mystery to me because the Graphic Processro was always activated.
    when I have checked the settings, following your recommendation, the system could not identify the graphic card…?
    then, when I copied your settings and made a restart, suddenly it works. ?
    however, I appreciate your help very well. this was the right way!
    when I had asked the German Adobe-guys in the summer academy, two days ago,they have had no idea!!
    my status quo:

  • Security filter verification failed

    Hi All,
    We are trying to create security filter which is combination of 4 sparse dimensions.
    The relationship between members in the filter is AND (so the filter will be created under one row).
    We encountered the below error in applying security filter
    ====
    [Mon Apr 13 03:42:16 2009]Local/GLOBAL///Error(1200467)
    Error parsing formula for [REGION DEFINITION]: status code [1130203] in function [@_U]
    [Mon Apr 13 03:42:16 2009]Local/GLOBAL///Error(1200467)
    Error parsing formula for []: status code [1130203] in function []
    ====
    It seems like if the combination of the members on the filter hit the limit of allocated memory, the filter got failed.
    Is there any way to calculate how many memory absorb in one filter?
    or is there any memory limitation for security filter?
    It will be great If anyone can share the experience of this issue.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Ai

    That's interesting, I have never head of a limit on the number of members that a filter can address. How many accounts do you have in your database?
    I took a look at the Limits section of the DBAG and found the following re filter limits:
    Filter name
    * Non-Unicode application limit: 30 bytes
    * Unicode-mode application limit: 30 characters
    Number of security filters
    * Per Essbase Server, 65535
    * Per Essbase database, 32290See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_dbag/limits.htm#limits_1
    That's it -- nothing on the number of members that can be addressed in a filter. Of course it is possible (insert sacarsm, irony, or wonder per your personality) that the documentation is not correct.
    I have never run into what you described, but Essbase is vast and mysterious country, so perhaps that isn't so surprising.
    I'm glad you were able to find a workaround.
    Regards,
    Cameron Lackpour

  • Automatic filter effect is causing me grief.

    Ive used AF many times before, and ive never had this problem up until now.
    What it is doing is causing the track it is affecting to fade out half way through the song, then it "pops" back in.
    if i stop the song as it starts to fade out, and play again, the effect wont be happening, however later in the song, it will fade out again.
    Im using AF to make stutters during a certain part of the track.
    The rest of the track is unaffected (minus that mysterious fade out), and plays normally.
    anyways, im sorry if that doesnt quite make sense, if you can help of if you need anything clarified please help.

    changing settings doesnt do anything
    i'd rather not remove the filter, ive got...i dunno what to call it. Theres a drop down bar below where you put the notes, you can control the track volume and pan through it, or whatever else you want, and i got the speed settings fine tuned D=
    aaanyways... yeah, ill give that a shot, hopefully my previous info stays.
    EDIT::
    Looks like duplicating the track and turning the filter off, sliding the bar down a point then back up, and turning the filter back on worked....
    Thanks anyways

    Hi,
    We have the same issue with generating PDF files.
    The process is very slow and unstable
    we have also conversion times between 5 and 50 seconds for simple doc files.
    I use the launchpad application or a livecycle process to start the conversion.
    The first time we convert a file, it takes for example 25 seconds.
    If we convert the same file directly after the first one, it takes only 12 seconds
    If we wait for longer period (1 - 2 minutes) between the two conversions, its again 25 seconds.
    Server configuration:
    Windows Server 2008 R1 SP2 64bit Virtual server
    4 GB RAM
    2 CPU 2,4 GHz
    Thanks

  • 'Filter' failed message when trying to print

    I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch, mid 2009 running OS 10.9.5 and an Epson Artisan 730 with a wireless connection.
    Today, when trying to print, I get a message that says, "Stopped - 'Filter' failed."
    I have never seen this message before.  It was printing just fine a couple of days ago.
    I noticed there was an Epson software update available in the App Store, so I downloaded that.  Didn't help.
    I tried restarting the computer.  Didn't help.
    Does anyone know what might be causing this?  It just sort of came out of nowhere.

    Mystery solved! By going to the referenced link, I found this:
    If you’re using a Wi-Fi network and there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your Mac and the printer might be on different networks. Open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, then try choosing a different network.
    I got a new router that has two network branches. The printer (Artisan 870) is on the low-speed branch (because who cares how long something takes to print?). Rebooting usually brings up the MacBook Pro on the same branch for some reason, but I had manually switched it to the high speed branch to watch some streaming video. Manually switching it back cured the problem. This thoroughly explains why I was getting this error message intermittently.

  • Enable Profile (ACR) and Filter Lens Corrections does not recognize Lens

    I did several searches and couldn't find this so it may be a new question. I'm running into it in both CS5 (Camera Raw and Filter > Lens Corrections) and Lightroom 3.3 (Develop- Enable Profile). I'm asking here since I figure if I can fix CS5, I'll know what to do in Lightroom.
    I have a Canon 1D MK IV. ACR recognizes the camera and processes the raw file. I check updates and everything is current. With Enable Profile checked, some lenses like my 24-105 L are recognized but my 17-35 L seems to be a complete mystery to it. I'm assuming that this is due to a missing profile.
    Am I correct in thinking that the process is, download, install and run the Adobe Profile downloader. If I do not find any hits for my lens, I am then in the spot of having to use the profile creator to build one (or go without).?
    Are there any other sources for camera / lens profiles that can be imported into the enable profile process?
    Once you have a new profile where do you store it?   under Users> Owner > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Lens Correction ?
    Thanks
    Rick

    Just to make sure:  Have specifically checked to ensure you have the latest Camera Raw update (6.3)?  I know you said you checked updates, but it never hurts to do a Help - About Plug-in... in Photoshop and double check.

  • My IPAD 2 is freezing on the principal internet explorer page.  It presents the google home page with a grey filter over it and does not respond to any touch or key.  All other internet dependent functions seem to be working (i.e. mail, various APPs etc.)

    My IPAD 2 is freezing on the principal internet access page.  It comes up through a light grey filter and does not respond to any touch or keys.  All other internet dependent functions seem to be working fine (mail, various APPs).  How do I "unfreeze"?
    thanks

    Geoff-
    Go to Settings-Safari and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
    Another thing you can try is to double-click the Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and find the Safari icon.  Press on it for a couple of seconds until it starts to wiggle.  A red minus sign will appear on each icon.  Press on Safari's minus sign to remove it.  This may clear its memory of the bad Google page.
    If this does not help, try resetting (rebooting) the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

    the sustain pedal works with some es2 instruments and not others.  is there a filter setting where it can be turned on and off?
    thank you

    Some instruments never had sustain pedals, Organs, Clavinet...etc
    Which ones aren't working.

  • E4X reparenting mystery

    Consider the following code:
    // create a root node with 2 child nodes
    var root:XML = <node id="1" />;
    root.appendChild(<node id="2" />);
    root.appendChild(<node id="3" />);
    trace(root.toXMLString());
    result:
    <node id="1">
    <node id="2"/>
    <node id="3"/>
    </node>
    // now get the child nodes by their id
    var node2:XML = root.node.(@id == 2)[0];
    var node3:XML = root.node.(@id == 3)[0];
    // make node3 a child of node2, this will create a copy of
    node3 under node2
    node2.appendChild(node3);
    trace(root.toXMLString());
    result:
    <node id="1">
    <node id="2">
    <node id="3"/>
    </node>
    <node id="3"/>
    </node>
    // now try to delete the original node3 directly under the
    root node
    delete root.node.(@id == 3)[0];
    trace(root.toXMLString());
    result:
    <node id="1">
    <node id="2"/>
    <node id="3"/>
    </node>
    The wrong node gets deleted!
    How do I move (reparent) a node with E4X?

    First, if you used an XMLListCollection, you could just use
    its
    filterFunction and not have to go through so many
    convolutions--the logic
    would already be encapsulated in a class that Adobe was nice
    enough to
    create for you that has been through QA and everything.
    Second, what has the debugger told you about what's going on?

  • How to make "none" the default filter on your iPhone camera.

    Some users have complained that the default filter of all pictures taken with their iPhone 5 camera has mysteriously changed to one or the other of the various filters available other than "none" (i.e., usual full-color) version they want.  I can't find that string again, hence this new item.
    I had the same problem, and believe I have solved it this way:
    1. Take a picture.
    2.  Find it the usual way in Photos - Camera Roll.  Presumably it's the wrong filter.
    3.  Click on Edit.  Click on the intertwined-color-circles icon at the bottom to reveal all the filters.
    4.  Scroll over to None and change it to that.  Save the picture.
    5.  Key thing (I think):  REBOOT YOUR PHONE.  (I happen to do it by pressing the on-off button at the top and the depressed home key at the bottom a the same time; do it however you wish.)
    6.  When you next shoot a photo, it should be in "None" mode (as the default).
    Good luck.

    OR tap the icon at the bottom right and choose none.
