N97 doesn't go on after disconnected during update

Hi,
i wanted to update my n97 from 12 to version 2.0. During the update my phone disconnected and connected back to my computer while it was busy doing the update. This made the program flip a couple of times and in the end it said can't continue updating. I couldn't do anything with the program, nothing was happening so i took out the cable and now my phone won't work anymore. The phone doesn't go on anymore, it does vibrate when i push the on button but nothing happends. If i try to do the update again my computer can't find my phone. Please help. Thanks!

  • IPad disconnected during update. Now all I have is the Apple logo

My iPad was disconnected during todays iOS update. Now it's frozen on the Apple logo screen. Any help out there?

    Hi, PikFlyer.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPad is unresponsive at the Apple logo when attempting to update.  I would recommend going through the troubleshooting steps below.
If you see a black screen
You might need to charge your device before it can turn on. Plug in your device and let it charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad), then try turning it on.
You should see a battery icon while your device is charging. If you continue to see a black screen, reset your device. If your device doesn't respond when you press buttons
Your device might not return to the Home screen when you press the Home button, wake from sleep when you press the Sleep/Wake button, slide to unlock or power off, or it might appear frozen. Try these steps:
    Restart your device.
If it still doesn't respond, or if it doesn't turn back on, reset your device.
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
    Get more help
If you still need help after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on
    Cheers,
    Jason H.

  • Help! iPhone 4 frozen after disconnected software update

I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I was running a software update on an iPhone 4, and it sort of froze halfway through.  After about 2 hours I stupidly disconnected the phone, I don't know what I was thinking! Now it's stuck on a screen showing the iTunes logo and a wire.  I have tried reconnecting but it doesn't do anything. iTunes is still saying its updating my phone and not letting me close it. I tried turning the phone off and on again and it is still showing the screen. I also tried putting the phone into DFU mode and it didnt do anything
    Please can anyone help?

Force quit iTunes, then re-boot your computer & force your phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, restore from backup.

  • IPhone 3G claims to disconnect during update

I keep having a reoccurring problem. Whenever I try to update my iPhone 3G (currently 2.2), after a long backing up process, iTunes shows an error message that it could not continue as the iPhone was disconnected. I leave everything and do not use my phone or computer during the upgrade. I have reinstalled iTunes, turned everything off and on, tried more than one USB port and I continue to have the same problem. There is nothing wrong with my cable, as transferring files or charging my phone works just fine. Please help!

I had mega problems too. Try following the steps in my posting as below after creating a new user account on your computer with ADMIN priviledges also. See my posting on 20/06/2009 22:33 titled "Upgrade Error number 4 and Restore Error 1603 when going to OS 3.0 - Solved"
And turn off any antivirus and firewall software too, before doing so. And also click the Restore Button on the ITunes Summary page which seems to force the iphone into an update. Dont try using the Check for update button. Good Luck......

  • IMessage doesn't function properly after iOS 8 update

Looked everywhere for somebody with a similar problem but only came to find issues with group messaging, so here is my issue:
I have an iPhone 5C, 16GB with the brand new iOS 8 update.
Before iOS 8, I was able to use all the features of my phone to their full potential, including iMessage.
After about 2 days of having iOS 8, an issue presented itself, I couldn't iMessage only a handful of my friends.
Oddly enough, my iMessage has been acting slow, but still functioning for everyone else while the handful of friends I mentioned before cannot receive or message me using iMessage.
    To clarify what happens:
When I click on my Messages app on my iPhone I use the above top-right plus sign to create a new conversation.
When I begin to type in their contact, I notice their name is gray. If this isn't an issue already, when I click on their name to create a new conversation, despite it being gray, it shows green instead of the official iMessage blue, which is the only way I can contact them.
I'd also like to point out that it does not matter whether I am connected to WiFi or using my AT&T Cellular data, iMessage just fails to function properly.
If it helps, the two people I have noticed this issue with have iPhone 4's running the latest iOS 7 firmware. I have been able to message another friend with an iPhone 4, which is a reason I think their phones aren't the issue.
    Thanks!

I've had lots of problems with sending some messages as text messages and then other times as iMessages even though I have data and am signed into iCloud and am sending to another iPhone. Group messages are definitely problems with everyone having iPhones. It seems like it usually involves someone who hasn't updated to iOS8 yet. But it doesn't always mess up. It seems random for me and my friends and family who are having these same issues.

  • Multiple calls of action method after exception during update model phase

    using: Sun RI 1.1_01
    Situation: have a view with
    * a field that has a value binding to a setter that can throw an exception, with a message tag
    * a command button bound to an action method
Enter a value in the field that will trigger the exception. You will get the same page again, with a message from the exception; the action method is not called.
Now change the value to something that will be accepted by the setter. The action method will now be called twice.
I presume this is a bug?
On code inspection of the RI 1.1_01, it turns out that an EvaluationException is thrown, which is translated by the ValueBindingImpl#setValue method into another EvaluationException, after posting the exception message as JSF message. This method is run inside UIInput updateModel, which essentially sets valid to false. This will result in interrupting the normal phase cycle, and makes us jump to render response, as expected.
Now all this happens during the update model phase, and earlier an event for the application phase was posted, to trigger execution of the action method. Since we did not reach the application phase, this event is never executed, but also it is never removed from the event List structure.
It is lurking inside the UIViewRoot, and is still there in the next request/response cycle. If in this next cycle, there is no more interruption, we will eventually reach the application phase, but there we now have 2 events waiting to be executed. As a result, the action method will be called twice.
If you trigger the exception in the setter more often, all action events will be saved for the next cycles. If you trigger the exception n times, the action method will be executed n+1 times the first time there is a submit with no exception.
This can not be intended behavior, can it?

BTW: MyFaces does this in UIViewRoot:
        public void processUpdates(FacesContext context) {
            if (context == null) throw new NullPointerException("context");
            super.processUpdates(context);
            _broadcastForPhase(PhaseId.UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES);
            if (context.getRenderResponse() || context.getResponseComplete())
                clearEvents();
}Events are cleared. Guess we are switching, then.

  • Proximity sensor doesn't work correctly after 4.3 update

The proximity sensor disables the screen when I place the phone near my face when in a call, that's fine.
However, it never re-enables it when I move it away. This happened prior to the 4.3 update, however I could press the home button and it would light the screen up.
That doesn't happen anymore, so I can not hang up a phone call once the screen goes off.
    This is a major defect

I have the same issue with a 2 month old Galaxy S4 and I noticed it after the last push from Verizon whihc may have been the 4.3 update. Proximity sensor won't light up the screen again when you move it away from your face.  Verizon told me to do a factory reset, Samsung told me to do a soft reset then clear the cache.  Did all and still have same problem. Had a call yesterday and person on other end did not hang up so I had no way to hand up on my end.  Am turning off the proximity senson durring calls for now but it will use up more of the battery with the screen lit more.  They need to fist it.

  • My Iphone 4S doesn't turn on after IOS 7 updates

    Hei guys,
I have an iphone 4S. Few days before the release of IOS7 I managed to download the beta version to my iphone. Everything was going fine until the first update of IOS7. It shuted up completelly. I manage to make it alive again, but today, it got ran out of battery and now I can't turn it on any more. I tried quite a few things. My Itunes recognizes the iphone when I plug it onto my computer, however, everytime I press the hold buttom, it doens't turn on. I've tried holding home and hold buttom as well, but everything I have is a weird screen with a big sort of finger print white in the middle of a black screen.
Do you guys know what I can do in order to solve the problem? I've restored and resetted the iphone as well, but it insists in not turning on.
Thank you guys for your attention
    Leandro

    Hi Enriquedelgado35,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take if your iPhone won't turn on without being connected to power:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • How to recover when internet disconnected during update

    Hi,
I am using jws from the command line to update my application during startup. I have set the jnlp file to allow offline mode.
I am having trouble in the situation where during an update, the internet becomes disconnected. This is causing jws to inform me that I have an "Application Error". The specifics of this being:
com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: http://milton.signage-central.com/jws/lib/foo.jar
         at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.actionDownload(Unknown Source)

         at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Is there a way in which I can recover from this exception. The assumption being that the application at this point has already been installed and exists in the cache. In the ideal case, I'd like to simply catch the exception, and restart jws with no internet connection, thus forcing to start in offline mode.
    Thanks,
    Imran

    Hi Luca-Sanna,
    Thanks for your response.
If this is not possible within my application code, what measure/configuration should I do on the JWS from to try and ensure that if it fails during download, that JWS will revert to a cached version of the applicaiton.
When you say it "wraps in a whole world of different problems", what do u mean by that?
    Thanks,
    Imran

  • Car charger doesn't charge phone after 4.3 update

for months the car charger has charged this phone fine, after upgrading to 4.3 it has stopped.
    Anyone else?

    Some more data points.
If I restart my phone it will work with the car charger until it reaches full charge. Then it stops working with the car charger until I restart it again. So if I get to 100% using the car charger, use the phone for a while and get down to 90%, I have to restart the phone before it works with either car charger again.
I have the same problem with the verizon branded car charger I have as well

  • My Imac (OS X 10.7.4) doesn't turn off after last software update.

The problem is this: when I try to turn off my IMac, the desktop disappears and the display becomes white, without anything else. It may stay in this way for several hours, maybe days.
I only can turn it off by pushing the on/off button for ten seconds.
The start up is also very slow.
    Any suggestions?

Try an SMC Reset and a PRAM Reset:
    SMC Reset
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and disconnect attached devices.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Reset PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
