Name of the Attachment without getting the entire message

Hi,
Does anybody here knows how can i list all the messages with attachments and the name of the files attached without invoking getBodyPart()? I want to use POP3 as my mail getting protocol.

Forwarding a selection of a message in Mail, without if sending the entire message

Hello
I have recently incurred a few problems with Mail, forwarding and replying to messages.
I have selected a section of a message I wanted to forward to a friend, selected the pictures, clicked on forward and added a message and email address. I have later checked my sent box and Mail has forwarded the new message with pictures at the top of the email and the entire original email below, containing personal information, personal conversations and contact info!
Why? It did not show all this in the new window when I selected the pictures.
I have not changed any of the setting on my iMac as I have not had any problems prior.
Can someone let me know if there is a bug in Mail or have I simply done something wrong, as I do not wasn’t to repeat it again.

From the sounds of it I don't think this is a problem - I think it's just your perception
By default, Mail.app shows messages in a threaded view - that is, when you reply to a message (or get a reply to a message), Mail.app shows the message thread so that you can review the entire message stream without having to hunt down other messages in your InBox or Sent Items.
The clue is the disclosure triangle in the message list, and dividing line and message headers (From, To, Subject lines) between each message in the message pane.
The upshot is that this is local to your machine only - YOU can see the message thread, but people you forward the snippet to cannot.
You can test this easily enough by forwarding your snippet to an account outside of Mail.app - set yourself up a free gmail.com account as a test, for example, and see what that account gets.

What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5. It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

You have two different issues: HP and Canon.
I don't know if I believe the Canon people. Windows XP has lots of different print options. Try installing Bonjour on Windows and then setting up a networked, Color Apple Laserwriter PS printer using "http://macmini.local:631" (assuming macmini is the name of your Mac). I have done this before (though not on a Canon). I am sure Canon will only support a standard configuration and this is not quite standard. Give it a try. It doesn't sound like it can hurt anything in your current setup.
For the HP, you might have to just wait for an updated driver from HP. HP has always had this problem. They are a huge printer company and I'm sure they get Apple hardware and OS versions before anybody else in the world. And yet, it seems as if they don't even begin working on their drivers until Apple officially releases a new OS. HP drivers are always the last to show up for a new OS and the first to break. If you get it working under MacOS 10.4.6, and then upgrade to 10.4.7, it is very likely that the HP drivers will stop working.
Unlike some of the other big companies, HP seems to have made the transition from Classic MacOS to MacOS X seamlessly. Their printer driver software works just as well on MacOS X as it did under MacOS.

It's not clear just what you're asking.
If you search for, say, "Smith" on the iPhone's Spotlight-like search feature (which you get to on the iPhone by swiping left-to-right from the home screen), you will see, among other things, those text messages that are sent by "Smith". You can then click on one of the messages shown. Doing this will reveal the entire message.

hold your finger on the part of the message you want to delete. This will give you the copy and more option. Choose more, and then you will be able to choose the message or messages you want to delete. Once selected you will be able to tap the trash can icon on the bottom of your screen.

TS5376 Help! I can't fix or uninstall/reinstall iTunes without getting this error message: "The path \C\Users\(my name)\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64msi.' cannot be found." So I can't remove iTunes.

Here's the complete message:
"The path \C\Users\(my name)\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64msi.' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder in which you can uninstall the product from iTunes."
So I'm stuck in this loop in which I can't download an update, can't remove iTunes to reinstall, and can't use iTunes currently as it shuts down at the drop of a hat. Am I hopeless or is there a fix I can find?

Your post is in iChat which is the app that preceded Messages.
Your post is about Messages and from the sound of things and the iMessages account and posts within that app and Account.
You list an iOS device but have not made it clear if you want to do this on a Mac Version of the iOS version.
Click and Hold the iMessages in Question. the iOS version should offer you "Copy" and "More" .
Chose the More option than then delete.
You may have to right click on the Mac Version then chose Delete.

Downloading the latest iTunes software to my PC without getting an error message and losing access to my existing programme. anyone else getting this problem?

I get the message that the latest software version is available, when I download it I get an error message and lose access to my existing programme. The only way I can use iTunes again is to restore my PC to before the download. Any ideas out there?

Display Database Instance Name in the System Message

I am looking for a way to display the database instance name on each page in the Application Builder. Using the System Message would work for me and I can hard code the instance name, but I was wondering if there is a variable that I can specify that will accomplish the same thing.

I did find that plug-in during my investigation. Some of the plugins sound interesting but I hesitate to anything to the base APEX install since I am not sure if this will affect supportability from Oracle if something goes wrong later on. Do you know if these plug-ins can be installed/deinstalled without affecting the base APEX install? There is also something called ApexLib which looks interesting. Do people use this? Any idea if it is still supported? I checked the forums and noticed there is not much recent activity. I wonder if it has been abandoned.

I do have the application displaying the current environment. I set it up using Page 0 as you suggested. It works great. In fact, I have set up an 'About' page that grabs information from the WWV_FLOWS table which will display information about the current application. Here is my query:

After upgrade to 10.6.2 the" entire message" search option grayed out

Just upgraded to t10.6.2 but now in the mail when searching for a mail the entire mail search option is not available anymore it is there but it is grayed out it can not be activated. That was the beauty if mail.
on the other hand the To do button now works again

You have not said, but I would guess you are using an IMAP account? If so, then might it be that the selection in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced has gotten changed to not keep copies of messages (and/or attachments) for Offline Viewing? The Entire Mail search will be grayed out when copies of the messages are not stored locally.

Don't use that method. It does move the whole library, it just moves the media. The whole library is best left intact.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Can't open Messages without getting "An internal Messages error occurred."

I have tried to reinstall Mountain Lion 10.8.2 several times to try and get Messages working but with no luck at all, so I thought I would try and get some help here.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

I cannot calibrate my Apple Cinema Display without getting an error message. I've done it many times before.

I have a 23" Apple Cinema Display and a MacPro running Snow Leopard. Using the built in calibration system I have calibrated the display several times in the past, but now I get an error message: The new calibrated display profile could not be created or set to be the current profile for this display." I have no applications open when I do the calibrating.

Launch the Terminal application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. If that doesn’t work, then in the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Drag or copy – do not type – the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
ls -Odel Library/ColorSync/Profiles
Post any lines of output that appear below what you entered – the text, please, not a screenshot.
