Name of used component in component interface

Hi,
I have a component interface which can be implemented by many components. How can I find dynamically the name of the Z used component?
If I use name attribute of comp. usage attribute or info, I can only get the name which is either the statically defined name (for first usage) or freely assigned dynamical name. However, I need the Z name of the component. Like in this example:
IF...
*  first usage
  lo_comp_usage = wd_this->wd_cpuse_if_usage( ). "statical name 'IF_USAGE'
ELSE.
*  clones
  lo_comp_usage = lo_comp_usage->create_comp_usage_of_same_type( 'FREELY_ASSIGNED_NAME' ).
ENDIF.
lo_comp_usage->create_component( 'ZUSED_COMPONENT' ).
*Now I'd like to get used component name from lo_comp_usage.
*In this example, satisfactory result would be: 'ZUSED_COMPONENT'.
l_name = lo_comp_usage->name. "here I get 'IF_USAGE' or  'FREELY_ASSIGNED_NAME'
lo_info = lo_comp_usage->get_component_usage_info( ).
l_name = lo_info->get_name( ). "also 'IF_USAGE'... :-(
I know a workaround: I can create an attribute in component interface with used component name, but I would first like to try to do it properly, without workaround.
Thanks in advance!
KR,
Igor

Hi,
I'm on latest version of netwaeaver. Please check it out the method is alaready there.. that method returns this parameter

  • Doubts while doing  example on WDJ-Using Web Dynpro Component Interface

    Hi
    I am doing the example mentioned in the PDF file WDJ - Using Web Dynpro Component Interface Definition.
    In the PDF file its mentioned the following code inside onActionCreateDC1:
    g_Usage.createComponent("com.sap.wd.childdc1comp.ChldDC1Comp");
    wdThis.wdGetWDCompInterfInstInterface().passInfo(
    "Created Child DC 1");
    I have one query that what is com.sap.wd.childdc1comp.ChldDC1Comp?Is it the component name of DC or the package name of DC?
    I have deployed the application.When i click on button Create Child DC1 i am getting follwing exception:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.deployment.api.WDDeploymentException: Failed to load deployable object part 'com.wartsila.test.ChileDC1Comp', type 'Component' of deployable object 'wartsila.com/DP_TutWDInterfaces'.
    When i click on Create Child DC2 i am getting follwing exception:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException:Failed to create delegate for custom controller com.wartsila.test1.ChildDC2CompInterfaceCfg. (Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)
    Can anybody tell how can i solve it?
    Is it required to deploy the two child component also that is ChildDC1Comp and ChildDC2Comp?If yes then how to deploy these two child DC as when i am tryng to create application for these two component then default plug is showing blank thats why i am unable to deploy these child Dcs.
    Thanks
    Susmita

    Hi Susmita,
                      Is it required to deploy the two child component also that is ChildDC1Comp and ChildDC2Comp?
    Yes , u have to deploy both the components.
    when i am tryng to create application for these two component then default plug is showing blank thats why i am unable to deploy these child Dcs.
    U need not create an Application for deploying the component .Right Click on ur project --> Deploy.
    The problem is with ur Component, while creating a Component u should have created a Interface view and default StartUp plug.
    Just check whether u have Created the startup plug for ur interface view.
    Open the controller editor of ur interface view --> Select Plugs Tab .
    and in the plug tab , check whether u have Default Start plug (in Inbound Plugs Table).
    if there is no Default Start Plug , then click the Button New to create a Default Plug .
    in the pop up window -- select Stsrt Up and Give the name of the plug as "Default".
    After doing this , select the default plug and Right click on the plug -->copy  and Open the window Controller editor -- > select Plugs Tab --> check whether u have default plug (in Inbound plugs) in the Window controller .
    if the plug is not there , then paste the plug in the Window's Inbound Plug Table .
    Hope it helps
    Thanks and Regards

  • Problems getting just the file name using an upload component

    Hi everyone, I'm using an upload component on my page and I need to get just the name of the image/file in order to store it in a database, I used the code of the tutorial and It works fine on mozilla but the problem comes when I use Internet Explorer because I get the whole path of the image/file and not just the name of it. I believe the browser is the cause of the problem, I already checked the http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/, but I don't understand how to use anything, and not even the code of the tutorial works eventhough it is specified in comments:
    // some browsers return complete path name, some don't
       // make sure we only have the file name
       String justFileName = uploadedFileName.substring
          ( uploadedFileName.lastIndexOf(File.separatorChar) + 1 );If anybody could helpme solve this problem I'd appreciate it so much

    Let's walk through the code...
    File.separatorChar is the system-dependent default hame-separator charac tor. This field is initialized to contain the first character of the system property file.separator. On UNIX systems, the value of this field is '/'; on Microsoft Windows systems it is '\\'.
    String justFileName =
    // get the substring of uploadedFileName
    // that starts after the last separator (\ or /)
    uploadedFileName.substring
    uploadedFileName.lastIndexOf(File.separatorChar) + 1
    You say that this statement is returning the complete path name, for example:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All
    Users\Documentos\Mis imgenes\Imgenes de
    muestra\Puesta de sol.jpgSo, we can make an assumption that the File.separatorChar must not be \, or else the statement would return Puesta de sol.jpg.
    We know that it works for you on Solaris/Mozilla.
    We also know that Misha has tested the statement in IE and it works for him.
    (And I know that this tutorial was tested by a software engineer and a quality engineer, and it worked for both of them, as well as the tutorial author and a peer).
    So, what is different here??????
    Can you print out File.separatorChar and see if it is '\\' (I think the first \ is an escape char, that is \\ (escape-escape) is the equivalent of \ (backslash)) or '\'?
    When you run it on another machine, how are you deploying it on the other machine? Is it deployed to Solaris and running on Windows?
    Have you tested to see if it works on a Windows machine using Mozilla?
    Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on the problem.

  • Using a composite component from an xhtml that is included in another xhtml

    JBoss 7.1.1

    I think I may have found a workaround.
    In the XHTML file that is included and using the composite component, add the namespace as part of the custom component, like so:
    <aas:messagetooltip xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite" for="id2"/>So that it now becomes:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
          xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
          xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
          xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
          xmlns:a4j="http://richfaces.org/a4j"
          xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich"
          xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite">
        <ui:composition>
           <table>
                <tr>
                    <td><aas:messagetooltip xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite" for="id2"/></td>
                    <td><h:outputLabel>Input 2: </h:outputLabel></td>
                    <td><h:selectOneMenu id="id2"
                            required="true"
                            requiredMessage="Cause of Death is required"
                            value="${death.causeOfDeath}">
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="" itemLabel="-- Select One --" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD01" itemLabel="Cancer" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD02" itemLabel="Diabetes" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD11" itemLabel="Other" />
                        </h:selectOneMenu>
                    </td>
                </tr>
           </table>
           <h:commandButton id="submit" value="Submit"/><br/>
        </ui:composition>
    </html>I tried this after finding a similar bug about nested composite components, which I do not use, but thought I would give it a try:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10898906/myfoo-tag-library-supports-namespace-http-java-sun-com-jsf-composite-mycom
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9735593/nested-composite-component-broken-in-jboss-7-1-1
    Have to keep track of all these workarounds that I am doing.

    The logs are by default located in Tomcat/logs and configurable by Tomcat/conf/logging.properties.
    Having said that, when I google on [java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.apache.myfaces.shared_tomahawk.config.MyfacesConfig|http://www.google.com/search?q=java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError%3A+Could+not+initialize+class+org.apache.myfaces.shared_tomahawk.config.MyfacesConfig] then I have the impression that you're using Tomahawk 1.1.7 snapshot and there might be a bug in it. Try using Tomahawk 1.1.6 and see if it works. After all, you may have more luck if you post this issue at their own mailinglist at tomahawk.apache.org.

  • Error while using ADF map component

    I am facing problem while using ADF map component to display geographical addresses on the map. Steps I have followed are as follows :
    1. I have created a simple table with structure.
    location_name varchar2(20),
    longitude number(10),
    latitude(10)
    This table is having records for actual values.
    2. I have created BC objects for accessing this table.
    3. Then I have added this data control to the JSP page as a ADF map and point theme. Here I have specified map viewer URL as http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer/. I have binded values for longitude and latitude to the values from EO. I have specified point data value as location_name. No value is specified for category.
    With this setup when I try to execute the page, it is throwing following error.
    DVT-26007: Theme mapPointTheme1 cannot be displayed because data at row 0(rowId=0001000000055445535431) does not have value.
    Can someone guide me on this please.....

    Hi,
    When we add point theme to the map, we specify the data control binding to this theme. This binding is done against the attribute names from the data control. I want to bind this theme input values to some variables. So that it can be changed at runtime. I think this can be done if we are able to use EL. So is it possible to achieve this? Could you please suggest me any other alternative way to achieve this.
    Thanks,

  • Using a List Component to create a photo gallery.

    This feels like a lot to be asking but i'm gonna go ahead and
    ask to see what happens.
    I'm trying to figure out how to use a list component to
    select 6 items from a large list, display the words to the 6
    selected items (in a text field), then finally (by pressing a
    button) I would like to load the 6 corresponding pictures for the
    selected items into a seperate frame. If there is anyone that could
    point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I
    have been trying to find information online about programming the
    List Component but haven't had any luck. Is there a book that
    anyone recommends that could help me? I've been doing simple
    animations and websites in flash but i'm now looking to learn some
    actionscripting as well. Thanks.

    Hi PinkPowerRanger,
    Per my understanding that you have two fields in the table "Date and Time picker" which is Date/time type and another is "Item ID", you need to get the Month from the Date field to display in the X-axis and count(Item ID) related to each
    month to display in the Y-Axis, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and can do this by create two calculated fields to get the month and year values from the Date/Time field.
    Details information below for your reference:
    Right click the main dataset to select the "Add Calculated field", specify an name of the new calculated field and add the expression in the field source as below:
    Year:    =Year(Fields!Date.Value)
    Month:  =MonthName(Month(Fields!Date.Value))
    Add the three field in the Chart as below and remember in the Value area you have got the Count(ItemID) but not SUM(ItemID):
    Preview you will got the chart like below:
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Component initialization when used by parent component

    Hi everybody
    I have 'parent' and 'child' components.
    View V1 belongs to child and, upon receiving an inplug, performs a specific view controller method InitView performing activities such as executing controller methods to populate its context depending on the plug parameters.
    V1 belongs to Window W1 as default view.
    child is used in parent component and the child W1 interface view is used in a navigation step in parent.
    Parent view V2 should fire an outbound plug towards the W1 interface view which should handle the related inbound plug calling V1's InitView method.
    In order to achieve this, I assume I should declare V1 view controller as required controller in W1 interface view controller. However this is not possibile afaik.
    Any suggestion? Should I move the InitView method within the child component/custom controller?
    Thanks

    I dont know whats wrong. I have all the latest updates. Does anybody know whats the solution and why after a reinstall I would be experiencing this problem.

    Hi-
    Referring to this post:
    "The AIC codec is installed by iMovie HD and is just what its name implies. Intermediate (temporary conversion from one file format to another).
    Your G4 will not be able to play the file past a few frames per second because of the large dimensions and high data rate even if you did find the codec. You'll find editing it using QuickTime or iMovie a frustrating experience because of those facts."
    I'm a little confused-- do you mean that the G4 computer is just not strong enough to edit HD files "even if I did find the codec"? I was planning to edit it with Final Cut Pro (have never edited a HD project before), but is my computer not adequate? Let me know if there is any way for me to tackle an HD project with my current laptop-- otherwise I guess I really need to look into a new one.

  • How to make a method global so that it can be used in another component.?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to make a method global so that it can be used in another component.?
    i.e I have one component C1 and methods declared in this component M1, M2, ...
    Now I have another component C2 and in this component i want to use method M1 of component C1.
    how to do so?
    Any inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanx.

    Hi,
    As Uday said, To make the method as global of component say C1, You have to make method as interface by clicking the check box.
    Now while using the method in other component say C2, you have to follow following steps:
    1. In used component of comp. C2, add component C1.
    2. Instantiate the component atleast once in any of the method of component using code wizard option:
    'Instantiate Used Componet'.
    3. Now you can call the method of component C1 using code wizard option 'Method call in used controller'

  • Using oc4j to generate interfaces from wsdl produced improper method names

    The method names that were produced from the opperations in my WSDL, generated an interface file with incorrect method names. The name went from "DoTest" in the wsdl to "doTest" in the Interface file.
    I double checked and all the cases are correct in the wsdl.

    Obviously one could rename the operation to that standard, but that doesn't exactly strike me as being anything other that a work around for a bug.
    WSDL provides a contract in which multiple languages have to conform to a set of interfaces, and it's not exactly good to have a tool, just a assume the contract for an interface is wrong.
    I could argue that I'm only doing Java on the front end and .Net on the client side and that they don't neccessarily follow the Java convention, nor should be constrained by it.
    I do agree with you that they probably just followed the convention when writing to code generator and just happened to pick up the convention. They just need to fix it now.
