Naming reference to an applet component in an ADF faces?

Hi,
There might be two possible way to retrieve an applet in a adf page.
One is using UIComponent.findComponent("namePath") of ADF faces. The other is use javascript with document.appletName. The applet tag has a name attribute which enables javascript to get it using document.appletName in html.
But normally if I embed an applet in an adf page, I wrap around it the <f:verbatim> tag which does not have "name" or "id" attribute. Therefore the path name to the applet will be interrupted.
Have any one try this before? should <f:verbatim> tag be ignored when the adf page rendered into html and javascript?
Thanks a lot.

Youpi!!! I found how to made it!!!
First, I finally have to make the property objReference in my
class GlowObjectReferencer as an Object in order to work.
Than, I have to pass myHB as the Object (which, if I
understand properly, will put a reference of the current Object
into the new class Object).
var _objReference:GlowObjectReferencer = new
GlowObjectReferencer (myHB, false);
And when I run my functions to manage the Glow FX
(setAllCategoryGlowOut and setCategoryGlowIn), it is now working
fine!!!
I am so happy now! I knew it was possible but in my mind, it
was just not logic to store an Object in the class but it seems
that it is what I need to do! But just to make sure: what I pass to
the class GlowObjectReferencer as the first property is only the
reference to myHB? Not a copy of myHB; right?
Again, thank Tracy because you force me to find the way to do
it!!! ;-))

  • Compare between component id in adf faces and component id in html.

    Hi all,
    [Oracle ADF Faces 11g]
    When I design layout and set ID for ADF Component such as:
    <af:inputText id="*itCalendar*" />
    After I run and view HTML source, I saw:
    <INPUT class=x25 id=*j_id_id7:itCalendar* name=*j_id_id7:itCalendar*/>
    My question:
    1. Why ID changed after I run ?
    2. How to away: ID don't change ?
    3. Why all atributes of Javascript attributes in adf faces 11 don't show? such as:
    onchange
    onclick
    ...etc.,
    Can you help me, please?
    thanks all.

    User,
    1). The ID changes because your af:inputText is inside another component that is a naming container. the *j_id_id7 is the (apparently auto-generated) ID used by the naming container.
    2). Don't put your component inside of a naming container (tongue-in-cheek, as that's usually not very possible). The best thing is to put ID's on all of your components, then you can know what the final ID in the HTML will be

  • How to get the reference of the component JSF by the faces context

    I have :
    <h:commandLink id="toto" action="#{controller.test}" >
    I want to get the reference of this commandLink component in function test of "controller ", for instance , to get the "id" attribute of it, so how to do it? by facescontext??????
    Thanks a lot.

    hi again:
    to precise my question, i know that attribute "actionListener " of the component can let the controller.test know the reference of the component ,but if i want to know when the getters are called for example <h:outputText value="#{controller.myValue}"> it calles the controller.getMyValue() , so in the getMyValue, how to know which component calls him?
    Thanks a lot...

  • Change default text in adf faces component in Webcenter Spaces

    Hi ,
    Here is the link that I found to change the default text in adf faces component. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/49-skin-component-labels-169191.pdf
    Scenario is simple :
    Taskflow "ABC" is used in webcenter space through imported Library in spaces App. Taskflow "ABC"  have the pageFragment "view1" and fragment has a adf table on that page. I was trying to change the "Detach" text using below code in above provided instruction.
    { "af_panelCollection.LABEL_DETACH_TABLE_DLG", "Any name for the Detachable Table" },
    { "af_panelCollection.LABEL_DETACH_TREE_TABLE_DLG", "Any name for the Detachable Tree Table" }
    Query/Problem : I did change in the trinidad-skins.xml of DesignWCSpaces app ... redeployed the war.. But the text didn't changed. The above steps worked fine for individual ADF application ... SO what's wrong with implementation on Webcenter Spaces ?

    Hi.
    Basically you have to do the following:
    Create an ADF JAR Library including your Skin (JS, Images, CSS Skin, Resources Bundles and trinidad-skins.xml)
    Deploy the ADF JAR Library as Shared-lib in WebLogic.
    Include in your weblogic.xml of the WebCenter Portal (Formerly Spaces) deployment via DesignWebCenterSpaces or the new extension the reference to the shared-lib.
    Restart WebCenter Portal (Spaces). When starting WebCenter Portal (Spaces) it looks inside of the Classpath for all trinidad-skins.xml files.
    Setup your custom skin for a Space and test.
    If the Skin is not selectable in the Administration Console then register your new skin downloading/updating/uploading from the MDS the generic-site-resources.xml file of the default scope GUID.
    If you still have issues then may I priorize a Blog entry explaining this .
    Regards.

  • Customizing the Tree Component inn ADF Faces..

    HI,
    I am using the ADF Faces Tree Component and was wondering wheteher we
    can use a specific theme instead of the default one..
    The scenario's i am looking at are
    1) Changing the Style of the Selected Node
    2) Programatically can i assign a different styling for a Specific
    Node (Previously Selected) in the Tree ??
    3) And any info reg Enabling the Drag and Drop functionality ?? As of
    now i don't think it is supported. Are there any plans of it being
    supported in the furture releases??
    Thanks
    Sateesh

    Hi,
    1) See tree skin selectors: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/skin-selectors.html
    2) You can reference a managed bean for providing the inline style sheet on a component. This however only works when the tree is re-drawn and not dynamically
    3) Drag and drop doesn't work in 10.1.3.x. In 11 this may work - havent tested yet - using a client listener component

  • JDeveloper 11.1.2.3, ADF Faces: declarative component does not support af:clientListener?

    I am trying to create a declarative component with the following code:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <af:componentDef xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich" var="attrs" componentVar="comp" definition="private"
                     xmlns:afc="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich/component">
        <af:xmlContent>
            <afc:component>
                <afc:display-name>DoubleClickTableDialogClientServerListener</afc:display-name>
                <afc:component-extension>
                    <afc:component-tag-namespace>org.mskcc.crdb.common.declarativecomponent</afc:component-tag-namespace>
                    <afc:component-taglib-uri>http://www.mskcc.org</afc:component-taglib-uri>
                </afc:component-extension>
            </afc:component>
                <af:clientAttribute name="serverListenerType" value="TableDoubleClickEvent"/>
                <af:clientListener method="handleTableDoubleClick" type="dblClick"/>
                <af:serverListener type="TableDoubleClickEvent"
                                   method="#{EditAddDialogTemplateBean.handleTableDoubleClick}"/>
        </af:xmlContent>
    </af:componentDef>
    At runtime I recieve the following error:
    javax.faces.view.facelets.FaceletException: ADF_FACES-60023:Component: DoubleClickTableDialogClientServerListenerComponent[oracle.adf.view.rich.component.fragment.UIXInclude$ContextualFacesBeanWrapper@7170a7, id=dctdcsl1] does not support client listeners.
      at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.facelets.rich.BaseClientListenerHandler.apply(BaseClientListenerHandler.java:53)
    This component was intended to be dropped off within an af:table component. I would like to hear suggestions on workarounds, one other way I thought about was to create a code template for the three tags, however, the con to this approach is each developer would need to configure this template within jdeveloper. Ideas are appreciated.
    Also a side question, how can I embed code properly with the new forum? [code] tag does not seem to work now.

    Wes, can't help with the real question, but can tell you how to format code
    Change to the advanced editor (top right over the editor field), then you get more options. The one you are looking for is behind the blue '>>'. Here you select the language you want to insert and you get nice code formatting and color.

    Anyone already succeeded with deployment of ADF Faces demo application on Glassfish?

    Okay, so my problem was that the URL I was using was the OC4J launch url (http://host/applicationname and my welcome-file-list was
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>LoginPage.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    I tried these two variations
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>LoginPage.faces</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>faces/LoginPage.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    and neither of these worked either. (I did restart the OC4J node between each attempt.)
    I finally created an index.html file for the application with an automatic refresh content="0;URL=faces/LoginPage.jsp" and this is working.
    Should the welcome-file-list have worked? Am I doing something wrong here?
    Thanks for the help. Mark

  • Adf faces skin-family change for page or component

    I know how to change this by editing adf-faces-config.xml tile. Is it possible to change the skin-family at a page level or for even for an individual component?

    You can change the skin at the page level by setting the value of the skin-family property to an expression language:
    <adf-faces-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/view/faces/config">
    <skin-family>#{skinFamily.skinSelection}</skin-family>
    </adf-faces-config>
    Where skinFamily is a managed bean and skinSelecion can be implemented as follows:
    public String getSkinSelection()
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    UIViewRoot viewRoot = context.getViewRoot();
    String viewId = viewRoot.getViewId();
    System.out.println(viewId);
    if ( viewId.startsWith("/blaf/") ) {
    skinSelection = "oracle";
    else if ( viewId.startsWith("/minimal/") ) {
    skinSelection = "minimal";
    else if ( viewId.startsWith("/vantive/") ) {
    skinSelection = "vantive";
    return skinSelection;
    If you want to have two components, let's say, two tables, at the same page but with a different style you can accomplish that by using the inline-style tag.

  • ADF Faces not found at Component Palette..

    I am a Tertiary Student currently doing a project using Jdeveloper 11G version 11.1.1.3.0 . I am currently doing a project on Login.jspx. I am unable to select the ADF Faces page from the Component Palette and unable to Locate the Panel Header component in the Layout layer of the Component Palette. May I know is there any other way to be able to locate the ADF Faces Page or the panel header?
    Thanks.

    Make sure you have the 'ADF Faces' and ADF Page Flow' technologies selected to your project.
    Open the ViewController project properties and select the last node in the tree ('Technology Scope'). The two mentioned scopes should be on the selected side to see the stuff you are looking for in the component palette.

  • How to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    how to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    Hi,
    the replacement of ADF Faces HTML components in JDeveloper 11 is Trinidad. For existing applications, a migration path will be provided in JDeveloper 11 production. I wouldn't recommend configuring ADF Faces in JDeveloper 11.
    You an configure ADF Faces Components in JDeveloper 11 by :
    - Tools --> Manage Libraries
    - Create a User Library
    - select ADF Faces adf-faces-impl.jar
    - Enure the namespace is not af or afh but something different to not cnflic with teh ADF Faces RC components
    Note that adding the ADF Faces components to the component palette will not make them show in the ADF binding context menu nor will it automaticaly set up the web.xml file. The components are available as any other JSF library set
    Again, I wouldn't go this way ;-)

    <h:form>
    <af:panelPage title="Test Adf faces table and applet">
    <af:panelHeader text="Orders">
    <af:table value="#{bindings.Orders.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.Orders.rangeSize}"
    first="#{bindings.Orders.rangeStart}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.Orders.viewable ? 'No rows yet.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    id="orders" >
    <af:column sortProperty="order"
    headerText="#{bindings.Orders.labels.order}">
    <af:commandLink text="#{row.order}"
    id="orderNumber"
    onclick="showOrder(#{row.order})"
    disabled="false"/>
    </af:column>
                   </af:table>
    </af:panelHeader>
    <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
    <af:panelBox>
    <f:verbatim>
    <div id="appletDiv">
                        <applet here />
                        </div>
    </f:verbatim>
    </af:panelBox>
    </af:panelHorizontal>
    </af:panelPage>
    </h:form>

    Sorry about the format, it looked okay when i previewed it , now it looks like terrible

  • ADF Faces: Making a component non-navigable. How?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to make an ADF Faces component non-navigable? Something like specifying
    tabindex="-1"in HTML.
    I need this most for buttons.
    Best regards,
    Bisser

    That's right. JSF produces such IDs. They are causing problems with JAAS login forms, so we should use plain JSPs for login, but for the rest of the tasks such IDs are okay.
    What I meant is that currenty the buttons are not rendered as
    <input type="button" ... />but as pictures embedded in hyperlinks (&lt;a>).
    It's possible, though not likely, that in some future version of ADF Faces some component will be rendered as an HTML element that doesn't support tab ordering (although I haven't really considered if there are such elements). Then the trick with manually setting the tabIndex of the parent HTML element won't work.
    Of course, I deeply appreciate the fact that you take the time to help us on this forum. In fact, I will go ahead and do just that -- I will dynamically set the tabIndex via JavaScript. I was simply wanting to make sure that I wasn't taking such a hack-like approach, if there was a better method.
    Thank you again.
    Best regards,
    Bisser
