NaN value with Sum

Hello,i am new to bipublisher and i am trying to do a sum in my report (rtf) but i get a NaN value.
I am pretty sure it's because i have null value in the field i am trying to sum but i don't know how to fix that.
Here is how my rtf is made (summary) :
For each Line
LINE_ENT_CR
End Each line
Sum result
I tried using this but for some reason now i always have a blank result <? sum( LINE_ENT_CR [ .! = '' ]) ?>
Anyone can help me ?

Point4D.Multiply inconsistent behaviour with NaN values

I've noticed some peculiar behaviour with System.Windows.Media.Media3D.Point4d.Mutiply when used with NaN values.
The following assumes that I expect that 0 * NaN should result in 0. There is an argument against that logic, but that is not the point here.
I have a 4x4 matrix defined, in the case that it is an Identity matrix and there is a NaN component in the vector, I would like to get some defined vector output where it is possible to calculate the component.
E.g. (1,2,NaN,4) * (Identity Matrix) = (1,2,NaN,4).
I was caught out for a while:
By stepping through using the debugger gives the output I want (1,2,NaN,4).
But allowing the debug code to run through uninterrupted gives the result (NaN, NaN, Nan, Nan).
There is a slightly surprising workaround: - using Matrix.IsIdentity seems to trigger the result I want
If I use the default Matrix constructor instead of a manually created one (normally created elsewhere in code), there is no problem.
Can anyone explain this inconsistency?

The Matrix3D class has an internal boolean flag that it uses to determine if the matrix is actually an identity matrix and this flag is not set when you create a Matrix3D object using the constructor that takes the 16 double values despite the fact that
you are actually creating an identity matrix (the flag is then eventually set when you access the IsIdentity property).
If you use the Matrix3D.Identity static property, the flag will get set to the correct value immediately and the results will be the expected:

By default in BPC values are sum in node level, It does not make sense to sum averages on parent nodes.

we have an business requirement to store data in average figures ,
The values are entered on the base member level but in reports we need to show average values on the parents level instead of sum
( by default in BPC values are sum in node level),it does not make sense to sum averages on parent nodes.
we managed it with excel formulas ,but we r facing the problem with dimensions which are in context.
(i tried using dim memeber formulas but AVG key word is not accepting the system in member formulas)
at last by using formula we managed the report but im worried abt that if there is no formulas ,how we will manage
pls suggest any solution to show average values on the node level in specific reports

Please define what do you mean by average - arithmetic average or weighted average (has more business sense to my mind).
Also, please provide some samples, explaining dimensions used in average calculation.
In our case we use dimension member formulas to show average prices, discounts etc. in the reports.

NaN values in array

Hello
I had a code done by my colleague who is not working with us anymore. In an array 8 columns and programmatically generated no. of rows all values initialize as NaN values. I have never come across NaN values before.
From research I gather it is not a number but it really isn't making much sense to me. Why the cells in array are written as NaN? What is the significance of NaN? Can I leave the cells empty and not showing NaN in it?

Hi Austin,
for the constant you can use the standard numeric constant (set to any floating point format) and type "NaN" into it.
As NaN is a number you can type it into numeric inputs... (The same applies to +Inf and -Inf, they are standard numbers too!)

PlotScaledIntensity and NAN values

I often use NAN values in CVI plots and graphs (and in LabVIEW too) so that some portions of traces are not drawn, for example when my application hasn't been able to calculate some of the values.
I noticed that the behavior of PlotScaledIntensity is different, and NAN values are drawn with a color that is more or less the of of the center-scale.
Is this an intended behavior?

The mai question is: is this handling of NAN an intended behavior or not?
It's different from how NAN is handled in other graphs, so I think it's not an inteneded behavior, but rather a bug... but I'm not sure

If a class method exporting a value with the generic type 'data'.

Then how can I get the information?
For exmple.
cl_my_clss->get_value( exporting ev_data = .... ) .
ev_data is a type of data.
I can not use DATA : lv_mine type data. because generic data should be used in formal parameter, however , if I use a field symbol, how to assign value with out knowing the data type?

As per my understanding,
You are getting the data type from the database table....
You want to use the same data type....
Lets say for example:
You have a db table x with field y having data type Z.
What you do is that, while declaring the data type for the attribute in the method use the reference as table_name-field_name(x-y).
Or....
use ANY. This will give you a chance to map any field type to this method....
Note: Using ANY will limit the syntax that you can use within the method......

GL - Balances do not match with sum of Items

Hi,
I have a requirement in which I am pulling opening, closing balance and a list of all transactions (or items ) on a daily basis from GL to a flat file, and then loading in a third-party tool . Now, the issue is sum of all items (gl_je_lines ) should match with the diference of closing and opening balances.
I reconcilied the items with Oracle's Journal Report. Items are matching.
I also confirmed that closing balance of previous day matches with the opening balance of current date.
But, ( closing balance ) - (opening balance) does not match with sum(items)
I am using gl_daily _balances for opening and closing balance.

I am not using GL_INTERFACE. The tables I am using for Daily balances are:
gl_daily_balances
gl_code_combinations
chart_of_accounts
And for the items, I am using gl_je_lines, gl_je_headers.
Also, I am interested in Entered Amount in GBP as the Functional Currency is GBP and there are many transacitons in different foreign currencies.
More updates : I found that I have calculate the Entered Amount in GBP from all Converted/Transferred/Entered amounts in different currencies.
So, I tried the following :

and currency_type = 'U'
and accounting_date = sysdate -1 --Opening balance

This way, I got opening and closing balance, but still the differernce between opening and closing balance is not matching with the sum of Items.

How can I return multiple values with PL/SQL Web Services

I'm new to developping Web Services. I'm doing some tests with JDeveloper and OC4J on my local machine with a Web Services based on a PL/SQL function within a package. Right now that function only returns one value. So the xml response only has one output.
I'd like to know how can I return multiple values with my PL/SQL Web Service. For example, if I want to return an employee's name and id? And that the xml contains two output : <employee>, <empid>?

Alright, I actually found my answer. Since this was asked I think as a followup somewhere else I'll give my answer.
It is very simple, all you have to do is create an Object Type and then Return that object type. After that, JDeveloper will take care of everything and you will have an xml response with multiple values. Here

How to use List of values with bind variables on item?

I made a dynamic list of values with a bind variable as a provider. I tried to run the list, and it worked fine - i filled inn the bind variable when asked for, and i got a list of values to choose from.
I would very much like to use this list of values as an attribute on a custom made item. My wish is that when creating the item you someplace write the bind variable, and the list will then turn up as wanted. (I could f.ex add the variable as an attribute on the page type)
I tried to create a custom attribute and assign the list of values to it. It created an error when I then tried to add the attribute to the item.
Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this?

Is there a way to automatically build measure object with SUM(col_name) from INT DB column?

I have a workflow that needs to be repeated every month and I'd like to optimize it.
1. DB table in SQL Server 2008 looks something like this:

[Flag 2] [int] ,
[Flag 3] [int] ,
2. I bring this table into my BOE IDT 4.0.3 and drag it into object folder. All INT columns become dimensions. This is not what I want. These are 1/0 flags for me and I need them to be measures with SUM aggregation.
3. I select all these INT sourced dimensios and right click on them with "Turn into measure with aggregation function - SUM"
The problem is that step #3 is unbelievably slow. I need to spend hours doing this as I have thousands of these flags. I end up selecting all dimensions from one screen and converting them at the same time. This takes 4-5 minutes. IDT runs on a Win 2008 R2 Enterprise server with 32 GB RAM and 4 CPUs.
In Universe Designer there used to be external strategies that allowed some customization of how the objects get automatically created from DB tables. I know there are no strategies in r4 (External strategy for tables) but is there anything else to make this process faster?

Hrm, I'm suspecting that perhaps it has to do something with setting CHAR fields. Some of the fields in this table are CHAR but I don't see a call in my PreparedStatement that can set a char, only a String, so that's what I've been using, but it may be that that's not the right thing to do. I'm running Java 1.5.10, and looking through the API there doesn't seem to be anything specifically for char.

How to store the value of sum of group in Crystal Report at the runtime!

I creates a Formula Field that hold the value of Sum of Group in Crystal Report. I would like to know how to store it in a variable and pass it to store procedure. Is it an option in Crystal report to do it. I knew that Crystal Report can cache the report for sharing. My detailed issue as following:
- Created a Formula Field named TOTAL AMOUNT that calculated the complex expression. This TOTAL AMOUNT is dynamic based on group and variables.
- I would like to store that value from TOTAL AMOUNT and pass it to the stored procedure parameter IN.

I doubt that this is possible since it would only calculate this value once the report has data. This sounds more like a report design question that should be asked over [here|SAP Crystal Reports;

What I understood from your coding is...
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <NODE_FLIGHT> via lead selection
Node_Node_Flight = wd_Context->get_Child_Node( Name = IF_VIEW1=>wdctx_Node_Flight ).
You are reading values from the above node and binding the values to the same node.Am i right?
Did you take seperate context node for your input fields or binded the above context to the fields.If not then read the context attribute values which are binded to the carrid and connid then pass these values to select query.
One more thing is select cardinality 1..n for node NODE_FLIGHT since you are displaying more than one record.
Go through the some basic tutorials.Search in sdn you will it get.Already there is a tutorial in sdn which explains exactly what do you require.

Charge sales order value with a minimum value

Dear All,
I have one requirement where I would like to charge my sales order value with a minimum value. For example, a minimum sales order value requirements are set at $1,400.00 (the minimum values can be different based on the different materials) per order, if the value of the order exceeds $1,400.00, therefore no minimum fee is applied or displayed and the customer is charged the actual value of the order; if the value of the order is less than the minimum thus the customer is charged the minimum. We also can set the minimum as quantity.
Is there any standard functionality through which this can be done.. or any suggestion?

You can maintain the Condition Record with Condition Type as AMIW wrt to Division & Price Group.You can change the Accesses as per your requirements.
