I have one InfoObject ZPLANT .When i try to excute the report then im getting only the Values of ZPLANT(not Text of those values) .Like below
ZPLANT :-

(im getting like this)
101 London Plant ( i want like this ,when i try to excute the report).
Please tell me how to do .

Hi Experts
1) Is it possible to restrict the filter values that are shown in the selection screen in BEx web? When a user are asked to enter a material number and uses the selection button in BEx web, he should only see material numbers for one specific plant. How is this done?
2) Is it possible to remove the selection button for å characteristic filter in the selection screen in BEx web? The selection button I am talking about is the button to the right of where you enter the filter value (two white papers on top of each other). If there is no solution for question 1 we have to go for question 2 solution.
We are using BI 04s, SP 09.

Hi Erik,
It seems that you would like the user to see value for 1 single plant. If the Plant Value is fixed then you can use this value in the Query and hardcode it.> in the query go to the Plant Chrac and keep a constant value of the Plant.
How ever if you need this value to be dynamic then use a variable for customer exit and populate this value using ABAP.

Problem With Push buttons on the selection screen

Hi All,
I've taken 3 push buttons on the selection-screen with the following syntax
SELECTION-SCREEN: FUNCTION KEY 1,
                  FUNCTION KEY 2,
                  FUNCTION KEY 3.
and have removed the F8 execute button using FM RS_SET_SELSCREEN_STATUS
Now, the problem is i'm able to perform validations using At selection screen but the code after the Start-of-selection is not being triggered.
I mean the processing is being terminated after the at selection-screen.could anyone please tell me how do i trigger some code after the event start-of-selection when a user presses a push button with sy-ucomm = FC01.

Check the below sample program :

Prob with Push Buttons in the selection screen

Hi All,
1) I have 6 push buttons in the selection screen(Normal Report), 3 in a first row(P11, P12, P13) and 3 in the second row(P21, P22, P23). If I press one push button(for ex P11) the other two Push buttons(P12 P13) should grey out(Inactive mode). If I press P22, P21 & P23 shoul grey out.
2) I need color change for the Inactive push buttons.

Can you please post your selection screen definition? I don't understand what you want to achieve by greying out the other pushbuttons when one is pressed.
Does that mean pushing one button will do nothing except greying out the buttons?
Typically when you push a button, you want to continue to execute the required processing for that button not just grey out other pushbuttons and stay in the selection screen.
Anyway, you can achieve that using the following logic. I am not sure how and if you can achieve the color change.

List of values not properly working in the selection screen.

Dear Mates,
In BEx query all the selection parameters are working and showing all the list of values. Created the same report in crystal from BEx query, for one particular selection it is not showing the list of values or drop down. Just showing "DISCRETE VALUES"
Please throw some light on this.

Hi Arun,
I think you have more than one dynamic parameter created in your report. There is a limitation on dynamic parameter list of values. You will have to edit the registery to get all values in dynamic parameters list.
Find below is a knowledgebase article ;
Symptom
For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
Resolution
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
CAUTION
The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
Crystal Reports XI Release 1
Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
NOTE

Hi All,
in BI we are having the maximum allowed cells as 500000 for a report.
for some of the reports execution fetching the data morethan 500000 by different users.
i could findout the report and user who has executed, But i wanted to findout for which selection user has executed.
is it possible to find out...please help.

Yes it is possible.
Open your query result in the design mode by going to BEx Analyzer->Design ToolBar
Now take one text element and assign it to the variable which you have used for the selection screen.
Take the same number of text element as there are in selection screen.
Exit the design mode. In place of the text element you will find the value of the variables assigned to them.

How to Display my Form in the selection screen.(without print format)

Hi all,
I did one gate pass form and i want to view the form in my selection screen or output screen(just in monitor) as a display by giving one Z-code.
i.e, we can view the form thru Print preview...the same preview, i want to display after i give my parameter in the selection screen.
For example.ZGPOUT if i enter as a t-code.
it should ask my Gate Pass number in the Selection screen...if its right then my Form will come out to the display screen. (instead of going by Print method).,
Pls post ur comment and reply me with examples,if possible.

Bex. Query in 3.5 : All Variable values using Text Elements not shown

I am using a Variable, for which I am suppose to select more than 15 values . After executing the report, I am trying look for these values using Layout--> Display Text Elements --> All.
Only first 10-11 values are shown and the rest are shown as ...
As such, I cannot see all the values in WAD too, in the info tab.
Is there any limitations to display the values with text elements ?
Any idea how to display all the values ?

You are right. I can do this if I select Filter values.
But, I am trying to show the values entered for the variables using Layout-->Display Text elements --. Alll or variables.
These are the values shown in the web template. The filter values goes to the data analysis tab, which are fine.
I want to display all the values in the information tab, but only few values are show and rest are shown as ... The same is the case when I select Layout-->Display Text elements --> All or variables. after I execute the query.

Display Variable Values in 7.0

There was an option in BW 3.x to display variable values using technical settings -> display -> variable values. I do not see this option in 7.0!? Showing the variable values is a great way to figure out whether or not a customer exit variables are working as expected. Could someone please help me with finding this option in the BEx analyzer? As I understand from your question that you want to debug whether the customer exit variable logic is workinig fine or not. For that you can set a session breakpoint for the variable exit in CMOD. Now use the transaction rsrt to run the query. This will take you to the debug mode and here you can see the variable values and whether the logic is performing as expected or not.

How to display positive value with a trailing plus sign

I want to display positive value with a trailing plus sign and negative value with a trailing minus sign. How can I do it? Is there any character in custom format for this? I don't want to convert number to text and use case statement because I need two decimal places and thousands separator.

Okay, try this...
You will need to do a "UNION ALL" of three queries, one for positive values, one for zero values, and one for negative values.
In the "negative values" query, do the following:
1) Add a filter on the measure for values "less than 0"
(This will ensure all values are negative.)
2) In the Data Format tab, select "Custom" and type in #,##0.00-
(This will add the trailing negative sign.)
3) In the Edit Formula tab, add the absolute value function, ABS(insert measure here)
(This will take get rid of the default leading negative sign.)
For the "positive values" query, modify the above as follows:
1) Change the filter to "greater than 0"
2) In the Data format, change the custom format to #,##0.00+
Step 3 is not needed since all values are positive.
For the "zero values" query, just add a filter "equal to zero."

How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms? This might sound trivial but I have a problem with a PL/SQL Validation that I have written.
I have one select list (P108_CLUSTER_ID) and one Text field (P108_PRIVATE_IP). I made P108_CLUSTER_ID to return null value when nothing is selected and assumed P108_PRIVATE_IP to return null value too when nothign is entered in the text field.
All that I need is to validate if P108_PRIVATE_IP is entered when a P108_CLUSTER_ID is selected. i.e it is mandatory to enter Private IP when a cluster is seelcted and following is my Pl/SQL code

My problem is it is returning FALSE for all the cases.It works fine in SQL Command though..When I tried to Debug and use Firebug, I found that Text fields are not stored a null by default but as empty strings "" . Now I tried modifying my PL/SQL to check Private_IP against an empty string. But doesn't help. Can someone please tell me how I need to proceed.
