Narrative view current year

Hi..
How could I view the current year by default in narrative view. I have used the following code
Year @{pvYear}*{year(current_year)*
Here pvYear is my presentation variable. At first time it shows Year year(current_year) in my report. When I use the prompt its shows my selected year.
Right now I have hard coded as
Year @{pvYear}{2009}

These are the step you have to follow
create one dummy column in the report and write the following formula
*case when @{year}=null then year(current_date) else @{year} end* and refer that column in the narrative view
and in the dashboar prompt defualt to drop down select repository variable and give the current year repository variable there
or choose SQL results and write the following formula
* SELECT case when 1=0 then "- Actual Start Date"."Start Year" else Year(current_date) end FROM Activities*

Power View in SharePoint only shows current year.

I have a customer using the Power View add in for SharePoint 2013 based on SQL 2014. I have created a BISM object that connects directly to an OLAP cube.
When I build reports or Pivot tables against this object they work fine. However when I build dashboards in Power View they only show the current year's data
We do have a default date dimension which forces for some reason Power View to only display current year. Therefore the slider doesn’t work since it has only current year / date showing up.
After removing the date dimension in one of our dev. cubes, Power View showed all dates and we were even able to uses the date animation with slider worked fine.
We don't want to do this in production however, because many of our reports rely on the default date dimension.
Has anyone come across this or know a workaround?

The current xml is invalid upon using external charts in narrative view

Hi,
I always get following message when embedding amcharts or google charts using narrative view. Once saved, it is not possible to any more to edit the narrative view. However, the report works fine, the chart is shown, but not editable.

I think it's a problem with your CDATA section. Take that bit out and test again to prove whether it's the cause.

Problem with javascript in narrative view

I'm trying to put some conditional logic in a narrative view of my analysis. I found some tips, and wrote that:

All works good, but the problem happens when I "click" on paging buttons of my analysis (see attached image: javascript_problem_paging.png). After click, it leaves me to a blank page with only narrative view content. Also, displays "error on page" warning in status bar (see attached image: javascript_problem_afterclick.png)
I believe that this issue happens with "onclick" event of javascript. I tried to disable it, but still not works.
Any help will be appreciated.

I get my own answer, jeje.
Instead of use "document.write..." I put another narrative view with a <div> control and set it's content by "document.getElementById(..).innerHTML = "(same HTML code)""
It works perfect! I hope that this achievement helps somebody else.

URL for viewing current month calendar

We are using iCal to publish and view our school calendar. We have a mixed computer environment of Macs and PC. The principal has a Mac and creates calendar events in iCal and it is automatically uploaded to our .Mac account and published as a web page.
The PC's have active desktop set to the school's calendar web page. This allows them to view the web page (the school's calendar) generated by iCal right on the desktop. The Macs automatically launch iCal which has subscribed to the school's Calendar.
My question has to do with the URL which I should set up for the PC's. If I use the default URL (http://ical.mac.com/dberg/argyle) the calendar is viewed in weekly view. We want it to view in monthly view so instead last month we set it to http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?d=1&u=dberg&v=1&y=2005&m=8&n= argyle.ics which views the month. Then the month changed but the calendar didn't so we experimented with the URL and deleted the &m=8 value and that worked. It seems to now always display the current month. Then we noticed that the year value is still in the URL (&y=2005) so we are going to delete that value as well. My question is should we also delete the "d=1&" value as well? It seems to work without it but I don't really know wha that d value is all about. We noticed that if &v=1 is removed it goes back to week view so we want to leave that in.
Any other hints as to what URL values to use so that no matter what year or month it is it will always show the current year?

when you switch to Preferences, you'll see 2 sections: "Page View" and "Calendar View". Directly written under Calendar View you should see "Default calendar:" and a list field (sorry, I don't know the exact English term). You can change the entry of this field from "Weekly" to "Monthly" at least that's what I can do on your ical

Current year period comparison with previous year

Hello Experts,
i need to compare qty of
period 01 2006 with period 01 2005-->for this period
period 01,02 2006 with period 01,02 2005-->for next period
period 01,02,03 2006 with period 01,02,03 2005 -->
after that...etc...
Note:
-i am having time char fiscal year/period
-now we are in period 02
-to get this year period i am using the variable,
"Cumulated to Last fiscal Year/Period" to restrict. so, this will give period 01 of this year.
- is there any standard variable to get last years period
- else, how to achieve this?

NVision prior year totals are overwriting with current year

Hi All,
I have created an nVision report with two columns, one is for Current year(timespan-YTD) expense totals and other one is for Prev Year(timespan-Prev_Year) totals and row level i have all Expenditure accounts from Account Tree.
When I run the report, Current Year and Prev Year coulumns are displaing same totals, when I ran the SQL trace, i found that Prev Year, column sql was running two times, one is for prev year and otherone is current year and second sql was overwriting with current year totals.
When I looked into timespans for PREV_YEAR, I saw that "End Period Type" was set to "Relative to Current Period", when I swich to"Absoluate Period" then Prev Year column was showing Prev Year results.
But switching Period type to : Absolute is wrong,when comparing the current year with Prev year with As of Date.
Any thoughts on above issue.

The long text of error AA669 is very clear about the root cause of the
error.
The idea behind the message: it is not allowed to close first general
ledger before subleger. This leads to inconsistencies. It is common
accounting principle to always close the subledgers first and only
then close the general ledger (FI-GL).
The solution is: re-open fiscal year in FI-GL (txn OB52) and follow the
steps from note 619969.

If it is not possible to open the fiscal year because audit has already
been completed: workaround (which is not quite correct from the legal
point of view) is the report RACORR20_A from note 29694.

Narrative view query

Is it possible to use a condition in a narrative view.
I have a summary report in which if the user clicks Month I should get in the list report's narrative view as Data for that month.

Can you be clear on this.
User clicks Month value in month column?
So are you navigating to any other page when he clicks on that value?
If you are navigating to drill report,then pull one dummy column in that report criteria and hide it.Write formula to fetch date in fx of this dummy column,make month column as prompted in the drill report.Show that date fetched in narrative view as @n,n is position of that hidden column in criteria(@1 if its position is 1 from left).

I have maintained script logic for current year profit transfer to Balance sheet. How to check my self whether the profit is moved or not properly. I ran the Legal Consolidation package. This was success. Now how to check by giving the test data values and what combination I have to use in Current view and In Input schedule. I have maintained two cubes that is moments and Balances cubes. or else through input schedule how can i test with test data. or advise me clearly the steps to execute.

Hi,
The current year profit should automatically be transferring to your reserves whenver you have data for your P&L accounts.
The net effect of your income and expense accounts should be tranferred to your reserves account as per your script logic.

I have a view in monthly buckets. I like to copy values for one KF to another from current year to only Current year + 2. I have made following macro but it dosen't work:

Action Link in Static/Narrative Views

HI Gurus,
I have a requirement for the below things,please let me know if it is possible in 11.1.1.5/6:
1. Pull Column values with HTML tags onto a static text box or a narrative View
2. Display Grand Total amount in place of the tags
3. When user clicks on amount, it should open a detail report, with the breakup of the amount
i.e. If the detail table has salaries of 3 or more ppl, the description on top of the report would be pulled as a column value since description might keep changing. i.e. "The The salary for employee A is $xx million and emp B is $xx million"" where even the text " The The salary for employee A" might change,being a column value. Then the aggregated/grand total amount of the salary column should be displayed in place of "$xx million" for each employee. Then when user clicks on that amount, it should open a detail report with Emp A's salary breakup. If clicked on emp B's total salary, it shud open the same detail report with breakup of emp B's salary. Empid is the unique key.
This is urgent. PLease help. If you suggest href links/html, please do explain clearly since I am not good at HTML.

I'm not asking you to go with Ticker, and I was assuming you get some inspiration from given link so that you can put the same with Narrative view.
I would say just DO IT with no question, that would help you learn more and save time from OTN (what if I didnt respond) and do not expect straight solutions so that you can use in your application... this is not quite possible.
You can refer columns using @n where n is the position of column in criteria.

Hi there,
I need to insert an image in narrative view. Is there any particular directory that these images have to be placed in?
I am currently using the code <image src = "\images\image.gif"> but the mage doe not display.

Action links in Narrative View

HT2513 how do get to view the year in ical?

I have ical on my MacOsX version 10.6.8. New at using ical, however I'm wanting to view the year and it will only let me view, day,week,month! help???

Looking at iCal version 4, open iCal Help, and after being connected to the server, you will see 'Inviting Guests to an event'. Click on that for information, and also at the bottom of that window in Related topics, is the topic, 'Setting your email address so you can send or modify your event invitations'.
