Navbar not proper Safari/IE

Hello--my first time asking a question:
I have just started my first site and I created a navbar via
Dreamweaver's insert navbar command. The navbar and rollovers work
for every button except for the 'links' button in Safari and IE.
Though everything works fine in Firefox and Opera. I have looked at
the code and the 'links' button code looks similar to all the rest
of the rollovers.

That feature is pretty antique, and really offers nothing
more than simple
image swap rollovers. I suggest you pull the navbar out and
redo it with
ordinary image rollovers - it will make your code easier to
read, and less
voluminous.
Anyhow, Safari seems to have a problem with the image name of
"links". I
have changed it to 'xlinks' and uploaded it here - does it
work for you?

Second site has a hyperlink in the Announcement, but not in Safari Navbar!

Earlier I told you all that when I made a second site in my iWeb site, it did not show up when I tried to see it on Safari.
Subsequent to that, I finished a bunch of tasks and was shown that message that pops up asking whether or not I want to send an Announcement. I clicked Yes, and an email message popped up. It was a generically formatted email saying The Website Is Ready For You To See and Here is the hyperlink.
I noticed that there were TWO, not just one, hyperlinks. I noticed that in that announcement, the second hyperlink was for the second site that I created in iWeb but which never showed up in Safari. (I clicked all the right clicks to make them show up, too.)
So the question is:
Why does the Safari website Navbar not show the existence of my second site, the Announcement email that goes out to my friends does provide a hyperlink for that second site? (Someone here told me that I have to give that second site a name, and I have not yet done so. So if I have not, then why does the Announcement acknowledge that second site?)

I don't use the announcement function, so it's
interesting to me that it does that. Thanks for the
heads up.
As far as your second site goes, iWeb does not
automatically put a link in the navigation menu of
the first site to help people go to your second site.
You will need to do this yourself if that's what you
want. You will also want to provide a link back to
the first site on the second site so that your
visitors can "travel" from site to site back and
forth. But iWeb really considers the two sites to
be separate and that's why it doesn't do this
automatically for you.
Some people who have multiple sites choose to make a
sort of Welcome page that functions as a directory of
their sites. On this page, all they have is buttons
that are linked to each of their sites so that people
can just click and go to the respective site. Just
another idea to throw out there.
And you know what? I am wavering between second site and just one site. Lorna in Southern California

Date Picker Alingment is not proper when we open Date in new Tab

We are facing Date Picker Alignment issue with Safari 5 browser on MAC 10.7.3. Our application is developed in Seam framwork ( which includs JSF and EJB). The issue which we are observing as follows-
There are some links on our application JSF page which opens Date in new window. But when we enable option for opening in tab always and click on Date link, Alingment of new tab opened is not proper.
Please suggest the possible action or pointers to work on this issue.

Here is more info to describe the issue.
These are the movies sent to the Apple Engineers to show how our
workflow has worked for 7 years until Safari 4 came out.
Again this has caused us to go back to 10.5.8 though we enjoyed some of Snow Leopards improvements.
Have your sound on when listening to safari4 so you can hear the overlaps.

Embedded audio shows up using FireFox, but not with Safari?

I have recently published a website using iWeb 09 to a SFTP host. The site looks like the iweb verison in Firefox and Safari except that on one page, "About My Bagpipes" one audio clip is not visiable and will not playin Safari, but works fine using Firefox as the browser.
In addition, in accessing the site via Safari, I often have to refresh the Home page to see the navbar and/or images, even after clearing teh cache on my iMac.

While creating pdf from html, the alignment is not proper

Hi,
In my application, I am creating a pdf report from html using (using Generate pdf 1.1 - HTML URL To PDF activity) which contains certain images and descriptions.
But, while generating pdf the alignment is not proper. In the HTML there is no paging, but in the output pdf the image div is getting broken when new pages are generated.
Some blank areas are coming the report.
Actually I need an exact replica of the HTML as a pdf, with paging.

JQuery Cycle 2 Image Slideshow (Works (cycles) in Explorer, but not in Safari or Chrome??

I am novice designer. I copied code for Cycle2 into my head (declaration or initializer?) and body (image source) of HTML document. The slider cycles through pictures in Explorer, but not in Safari or Crome. Any help, suggestions, alternatives would be appreciated. Thank you.
I have tried
Spry Content Slideshow- trouble being responsive when resized.
FlexSlider2.2- trouble with image height/viewport sizing to big (kinda had workaround), but had trouble with getting HTML text and image together on one slide.
WOWSlider- could not get rid of the gutter/margins surrounding the slider.
Cycle2-won't work in all browsers (for me)

Resize/re-scale & optimize all images for the web in your graphics editor before you insert them into your web pages. Saves bandwidth and reduces page load.
Cycle2 is a responsive slideshow. If you want all images to remain 400px and not responsive to layout, you'll need to modify the CSS code a little.

A php script works in IE but not in safari .. please help

The following php works in internet explorer but not in safari or chrome .
In IE all files are saved in specified folder .
But in safari , xml portion works .. that is myxml.xml is saved in 'uploads/'.$temp directory ... but uploaded files are not saved in the given folder ..instead they are saved in 'uploads' folder .... not in 'uploads/'.$temp folder or 'uploads/'.$temp.'/image/' folder ...
The script is called from flash ...
I am new to php ... please help ...

If you don't have an iPhone, grab the browser handle and drag it to the left to reduce the width to see how it responds to mobile devices' fixed width browsers .
This will play in all modern browsers and on mobile devices. You can use QuickTime Pro for the OGG or OGV conversion or get the freeware Miro Video Converter...

I can not "Quit Safari" it is not highlighted because of that I can not restart computer

Hold down Option Command Escape at the same time... from the drop down Menu choose Force Quit Safari.
Or,
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Force Quit.

How to make site open in Rover and not in Safari?

I want a link to a website in iTunesU to open in Rover (a browser that supports flash) and not in Safari. Can this be done?

Where you see: Style sheet
Click: None Selected where you see Style sheet:
If that's not the issue, try deleting the cache.db.
Quit Safari. Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, back to Safari > Preferences > Security
Deselect: Enable plug-ins
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, there's a third party plugin installed that's preventing the drop down login.

A number of websites that +*I use*+ do not support safari. there is an overwheming number of websites that only support firefox on the mac.

Background:
The websites in question:
- lack some specific, various functionality in safari.
- not related to a plugin
- not related to a bad install\preference\etc\etc\etc
*- At these sites, the problems are explained by the webmasters (and FAQ's) that the loss of some functionality is due to NOT supporting safari*

better ask the webmasters, surely? In most cases, code that complies correctly with current standards, will work just fine on Safari.

In some cases, mostly say, files that download with an odd extension.... it's a webserver setting, but mostly it's that safari is not forgiving of dodgy coding & gives odd outcomes as a result, whereas, other browsers seem to try harder to allow for wesbite wrietes being less than perfect.
It's not exactly rocket-science to make a site that works fine with all browsers; but umm, some people seem to lose interest once they've made it work with IE and firefox.

You may not need another browser. In Safari Preferences > Advanced, click the box "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
A new menu with that name will now be available. Choose the "user agent" that placates the website. That will at least load the page, but if you find it doesn't render properly you can always use Firefox.

Facebook videos are still working for me in the Facebook App (using iOS 7.0.6).
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.
