Navigation attribute in the Alert Monitor

Hi All,
In the alert monitor in SAP APO the display table contains only characteristics and not the navigational attribute.
Is there any way through which we can display the navigational attribute also?
Thanks,
Diana

Diana ,
This is how we handled it when we had a situation similar to yours. Since the navigational attribute was also a BW info object , we pulled the value for the navigational attribute to APO-BW  . We then put custom logic in the BAdI to pull data for the navigational attribute and display the same in the alert monitor.
Your ABAP team should be able to help you in putting the custom logic in the BAdI . To save the value to the info object you need to have an idea about APO-BW.
Thanks

  • Data issue with Navigational Attribute in the report

    Hi Experts,
We have a report which has Material and Material Group in the report. Material Group is a navigational attribute of 0Material. We have some 31 material groups in the ODS. However, the report is diaplaying only 3 material Groups. If I use Material Group directly( not as an attribute of material) then it is displaying all the 31 material groups correctly.
We have a hierarchy which is loaded through Flat file on Material Group. We need the hierarchy to be displayed for all the material groups in the ODS. Please let me know what could be causing this issue?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kavitha Jagannath

    Hello Kavitha,
Check if the Material Masterdata is having these Material groups. If not then load this Material masterdata and activate it.
As your query is using Material group as Navigational attribute then the data should come from this Material Masterdata.
If your Material has only 3 of th eMat Groups then report will show only 3. Better update this Material masterdata.

  • How to include Navigational attribute in the selection screen

    Hello All,
Can any body please tell me how to include a navigational attribute in the selection screen in BEX?

    Let´s go step by step.
In your example, you mentioned the characteristic called 0MAT_PLANT.  Its navegational attributes are allocated in the same dimension the main characteristic belongs.  So 0MRP_CONTRL, as a navegational attr. must be allocated in the same dimension as 0MAT_PLANT.
    1) In query designer in Bex (left pane) find the dimension where 0MAT_PLANT is allocated.  Find the navegational attr. in the same dimension, 0MRP_CONTRL.  Pls verify you are looking to a navegational attribute, activate technical names and the name of the attr must be 0MAT_PLANT__0MRP_CONTRL.
    2) Below the attribut (still left pane) you will find a Variable icon (yellow).  If you see the "+" symbol, it means that at least one variable exists (standar or not).  Open it and check if the variable suits your requeriment to set it in selection screen.  If not, create a new one (let me know if you need help with this task).
    3) Once you have your variable for the navegational attribute, drag and drop it to the design area (row, column, filter).
    4) Verify the order you want this variable to appear from the menu bar: Query properties -> Sequence of Entry Variables.
    Hope this helps.  Leticia

  • Configuring the Alert monitoring of Solution Manager 4.0

    Dear all,
How can I notify from the central monitoring system when alerts happened?
I have already create and assign auto-reaction method to specific monitor attribute with alerts, but nothing happend. I even looked at the table CSMCENTOOL where the alert data suppose to stored, and the table is still empty.
I will be greatfull if anyone can provide me appropriate document in this matter, or guide me with a list of things that need to be done.
    Kind regards,
       Yagel

    Hi Kai,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I have already create and assign the central auto-reaction method exactly as in the example,
and when I try to start the auto-reaction method I receive the alert information "Cannot determine data for method DUMMY_TOLL_FOR_DOUBLEHOP".
I have overcome this alert information by changing the excute method of the <i>defined central auto-reaction</i> from <i>Only in central system, trigged by CCMS agents</i> to <i>Periodically in process(Short running program)</i>, and still, nothing notify when alert happened.
Should I configure the "Related Solution Manager configuration guides on SDN" which describe in the bottom blug as well?
I also didn't understand you when you say to send from SAP-System to another account?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Showing navigation attributes in the same column of a query

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to define a query such that TWO navigation attributes that reference the same underlying characteristic can be displayed in the SAME column rather than TWO separate columns.
I will describe an example scenario to clarify the requirement.  We are using a BI Content InfoCube (0COOM_C02) that has the navigation attributes 0COSTCENTER__0PROFIT_CTR and 0WBS_ELEMT__PROFIT_CTR activated.  Both of these attributes reference the characteristic 0PROFIT_CTR.  The InfoCube contains transaction data for Cost Centres and WBS Elements.
The requirement is to define a query that summarizes the data by profit centre.  At the moment, in order to combine Cost Centre and WBS (Project) data in the same query by Profit Centre, both navigation attributes need to be selected, resulting in the following output:
    0COSTCENTER__0PROFIT_CTR......0WBS_ELEMT__PROFIT_CTR......AMOUNT
    PC01...............................................Not assigned...................................10,000
    PC02...............................................Not assigned...................................20,000
    PC03...............................................Not assigned...................................12,000
    PC04...............................................Not assigned....................................2,000
    Not Assigned....................................PC02..............................................5,000
    Not Assigned....................................PC03..............................................8,000
    Not Assigned....................................PC05..............................................30,000
    Not Assigned....................................PC06..............................................50,000
However, the desired result is to display only one profit centre column using the two profit centre navigation attributes as shown below:
    PROFIT CENTRE......AMOUNT
    PC01..........................10,000
    PC02..........................25,000
    PC03..........................20,000
    PC04............................2,000
    PC05..........................30,000
    PC06..........................50,000
Is there a way to achieve the above result using the two navigation attributes only, without having to add 0PROFIT_CTR as a characteristic to the InfoCube?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mustafa.

    Hi Mustafa,
You have to use enhancement RSR00001 in the transaction CMOD to start developing your code.
For more information how the customer exit variables are processed, refer to the documentation:

  • Master data values(navigational attributes) are not turning up in the cubes

    Hi all,
I have a cube, which contains 0cust_sales as master data and i have clicked on the navigational attributes of 0cust_sales like customer grp1, 2,3,4,5 etc
But then i have the 0cus_sales number 6100034 with all the navigational attributes turning up when i look up at the master data in the quality system.
But then for the same customer number i can see the customer number but no navigational attributes are turning up!!
I have activated master data and the master data contents are active!!
Can anyone pls update me on this!!
    Thanks
    Pooja

    Hi
It is not part of dimension only 0CUST_SALES is part of dimension,
And ocust_sales-customer grp1, 2,3,4,5 are navigational attributes in the info cube. I have just included them as navigational attributes enabled in the info cube.
And when i loaded the data for customer say 6111035 from the ods to the cube. I can see the data for customer 6110035 but cant see the navigational attributes getting populated.
But when i look at the same in the master data for 0cust_sales i can see the values for the navigational attributes too!!
    Thanks

  • Navigational Attributes in InfoSets[based on InfoCubes] - BI 7.0

    Hi Gurus,
I am using BI 7.0. We tried creating a MultiProvider based on three SD Cubes[Orders/Billing & Delivery] but since the result was being displayed in 3 rows instead of 1, we tried using an InfoSet to see if this would get the results to be displayed in a single line.
In the MultiProvider, we had mapped some of the 'Navigational Attributes' from the underlying InfoCubes after turning them 'ON', but in the InfoSet, I am not able to view the Navigational Attributes of the Cube anywhere.
Are we not able to add 'Navigational Attributes' to InfoSets? Is there a work around for this?
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi Arvind,
Check note 1124036 @ www.service.sap.com . Check if you need to apply this.
Also you can add infoobjects themselves in the infoset and join them by keys.

  • How to add Navigation attributes values via ABAP while creation of CVC

    Hi,
I have a requirement like, I have to add navigational attributes to the cvc record while CVC creation ( /sapapo/mc62 transaction).
There were two scenarios: 1. Usually when they load master data from BW side those navigation attributes available and when we do CVC creation it's automatically picks those values. If NOT then i have to bring Market segment and Business unit navigational attributes values from ECC via RFC function module by passing MPN and End customer division as a input.
I am facing problem when BW side if business unit and Market segment were blank.
Do we have any Function modules available to add navigational attributes data and should update corresponding master data tables.
Please help me step by step process on this.
    Thanks

    Michael,
Are you intending this as a commercial solution or a work around?
To take an existing equivalent, one would build a view in the database tailored for each grid in an Oracle Forms application. Or a separate query layered over tables for each form/grid in a Delphi or Access application? Even if it is ninety nine percent the same over half a dozen forms/grids?
And now you've added a whole slew of "slightly different" rowSetInfos to maintain.
So if you wanted to add a column that needs to appear everywhere... you've just increased the workload multi-fold?
That would be a management nightmare, wouldn't it? Not to mention yet more performance cost and a slower system?
Hmmmm..... I'm not sure I like where this is headed... someone needs to do some convincing...

  • Problem with alerts in the alert inbox

    Hi experts,
I have configured AE alerts and I wanted to display the Error details as in RWB in the alert as well. With the help of SDNers in the thread

  • Unable to use Navigational Attr in the query ?

    Hi experts,
    We are using BEx 3.X.
We have a report based on an infoset. We want to use some navigational attributes in the query and
restrict the values of these attributes.
But we are unable to use them as navigational attr. They are displayed as display attributes only.
We are unable to restrict them. This is because the query is on Infoset.
When i use the same navigational attr in a query based on a infocube, it is displaying as Navigational Attr.
We are in BI 7 but using BEx 3.X.
    How to resolve this ?
    Regards,
    Nishuv.

    Hi,
    Master Data Read
A simple master data read should be done using generic BI functionality in the update rules. Choose the
option u201CMaster Data Attribute ofu201D in the update rule details for the selected characteristic and select an
attribute by using the F4 help. With this setting, the value of the characteristic to be updated is read from the
master data table of the specified characteristic.
Characteristic Material is provided by the InfoSource.
Characteristic Material Group is not provided by the InfoSource.
Characteristic Material Group is an attribute of characteristic Material
Therefore you can fill Material Group from the master data table of Material: Select the method Master Data
Attribute from and Material as source.
The generic master data read only works for characteristics that are available in the communication
    structure.
For a more complex master data read or if the characteristic is not available in the communication structure,
you have to implement the master data read yourself in a routine for the specific characteristic. If so, the
function module RSAU_READ_MASTER_DATA should be used to read the master data.
In Infoset u can use max 2 cubes......and Infoobjects 'N' number u can use.......
    Thanks/Tarak

  • Use of planning characteristics vs navigation attributes in APO DP

I am using APO DP V5.
    I have a product characteristic.
Products are grouped into 'product groups'.
I want to be able to run stat forecasts at the 'product group' level, and also adjustments via key figures at the 'product group' level.
For the 'product group', I could set up a planning characteristic or a navigation attribute.
What are the pros/cons of setting up a planning characteristic or navigation attribute, bearing in mind the need to forecast and make adjustments at this level?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
The pros for using navigatyion attribute are quite easy: it will give you far more flexibility.
For example in case of change of hierarchy, you will not need to run realignment.
It simplify in the same way the data loading.
Now the cons: there is still some limitations: you can without any problem run stat forecast and adjustment for a navigation attribute. The only limitations I can remember are for promotion and store the assigment of a forecast profile to a selection (see /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 - Assign Forecast Profiles to a Selection ).
this point might, or not, be the issue for you: do you plan to use the automatic forecast profile selection? If yes, then I suggest you to test it with navigation attributes; but as far I know it will fail. (note: I think there is workaround with a badi implementation, but can't remember which one now)
    I hope it helps

  • Problem with Navigation Attributes when upgrading from BI 3.1 to BI 7.0

    Hello,
I have the following problem that occured regarding queries during the upgrade from BI 3.1 to BI 7.0:
As far as the queries are concerned it is not possible in the 7.0 system to completely rebuild them according to the queries in 3.1. More specifically this refers to a certain number of navigation attributes that cannot be integrated into the query. In this case the following error message appears: "Error in BW: Missing mapping partprov cha <-> multiprov cha". Moreover, this error message only appears when you try to include navigation attributes into the query that are all attributes of the same specific InfoObject.
I have already checked in the 7.0 system if the relevant objects have the status 'active' and if the identification between the Multiprovider and the InfoObjects used is correct. So, is there anybody who may has another idea why this error message appears respectively who experienced the same/similar problem?
    Thanks in advance & Regards

    Hello Martin,
yes, I've also checked the identification in the MultiProvider for the navigational attributes. There is nothing missing.
    I've also reactivated the objects.
Do you may have another idea?
    Thanks and regards, Ines

  • In Alert Monitor - Is it possible to add Price or Cost as Column Value?

    Hey Folks
I am trying to define a methodology to manage and work on the exceptions in the Alert Monitor,
and I would like to carry on the ABC analysis based on Price or Cost?
The alert monitor was defined prior to my time on this latest project.
Would it be simple to add or difficult to link the price from values from whatever table they come from,
to show as column fields? so they ABC analysis can use that column as the Ratio one?
If anyone think this is feasible let me know.
    thanks for your feedback
    JD Loera

    Hello!
Awesome, thanks for the response, I will put that in my project list and will link with the Basis/ABAP team.
    Cheers!
Business Procees note to all out there in *APO DP Business Processes and Planning.*
If you use the alert monitor, as you know you can define there macro generated alerts and analyise through the variances from Target and Actual Values.
Also, you can still use the ABC analysis there, to identify A B C of the results that you get ( in the example above, % of variance )
However, from a Business Process bang for your buck and time. By adding the Material Cost or Price, the Demand Planner or SNP Planner can also do the ABC analysis based on the price as well, and really then identify the items with higher value to work with,as those are important to always keep in check. (ABC from the fiancial point of view so to speak)
Cheers all, worth to think about for your own Alert Monitor processes.

  • Can i filter a report based on a value of a navigational attribute?

    Hi all,
i need to filter a report and the characteristic i need it's a navigational attribute that is already present in the infocube, can i use it as a filter or i need to add a new characteristic to the ic?
    thank you

    Hi
You can use navigational attributes to filter your report. When you switch on the navigational attributes at the cube level, the X table or Y table will be connected to the star schema of cube.
Navgational attributes behave like a characteristic in the report. You can create variables, filter etc on navgational attributes.
    Hope it helps.
