Necessary licences

What types of licences and quantity I need if I plan to create below topology:
I have domain controler, which based on Windows Server 2008 Standard. This server got all Active Directory roles and I also have necessary quantity of CAL licences on them.
So:
I plan to add secondary domain controler which will be based on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I plan to install on it Exchange 2013 Server Standard with roles: Mailbox
Server ; Client
Access Server; Unified Messaging Server; Hub
Transport Server. Exchange user will be around 30.
What is more I wanna secure this server by creating in my network third server with Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard which will have Exchange edge transport role and will be in DMZ zone. Do you think this is good idea , or how can I do it by using another
method?
So summarizing:
1st Server 2008 Standard is now DC (i have necessary CAL licenses)
2nd Server = Windows 2012 R2 Standard (will be secondary domain controler with the same roles as 1st Server). Exchange installation with roles: Mailbox
Server ; Client
Access Server; Unified Messaging Server; Hub
Transport .
3rd Server = Windows 2012 R2 Standard (server will not be in domain, DMZ zone). Exchange Edge Transport role.
What types of licences I need for 2nd and 3rd Server ?

Database licensing

how can I check if my database is a licensed one.
Is there a way to check for the legality of the oracle software from with in the software. Because Ofcourse, I don;t have access to the Purchase Order or any other documentation that might have come along with the software.
I want to understand how Oracle Licensing works for Database and Apps Server products. Is it hardware dependent or No of users dependent.
Another thing is that If i have raised a purchase order for say Oracle Database Enterprise Edition should Oracle be sending me CDs for all platforms like solaris,aix,windows etc...

Of course "informed" and "confirmed" may mean quite different ways to do that, starting from oral conversation and ending with officially signed papers with stamps and signatures. All that depeneds on how important it is to you and your customer.

SBO Client and Windows Vista in workgroup Licence error

Hi!
My customer runs B1 2004C. Network structure is workgroup. Client and server are in the same workgroup. XP users connect successfully, but new Vista user gets the licence error: "-2147024891 Access denied". DCOM and other customizations on the licence server are done like in SAP Notes. It doesn't help.
I know Vista is not officially supported by 2004C B1, but i have several Vista users running SBO fine in domain structure. I think the trouble is in the workgroup.

Solution
The problem is caused by SP1 for W2003 Server. You have to change the
default configuration of the DCOM to enable clients to access license
server again:
1. go to "Start/run", type in "Dcomcnfg" and the Dcom configuration will open
2. expand "Component Services"
3. right click on "my computer", open "Properties"
4. go to tab "Com Security"
5. in "launch and activation permission" go to "edit limits" this
button is new since SP1
6. tick the boxes "remote launch" and "remote activation" for user
"everyone"
After that the clients can access the license server again, if all nescessary rights are give in the DCOM as well. When the changes described above did not take effect, please check this additionally:
1. go to "Start/run", type in "Dcomcnfg" and the Dcom configuration will open
2. expand "Component Services"
3. Go to "SBOLicense", open "Properties" by right-clicking the mouse
4. On register tab "Security" customize all permissions. Add all nescessary User accounts there. If you add i.e. User Group "Everyone" there, you will not have access right problems any longer, as every user belongs by default to this group.
If that change does not take effect immediately, reboot the server.

Solution
1. Is the license server up and running?
The B1 client on the license server computer should be started and logged into to ensure that there are no problems withs the license server itself. The B1 Server tools should be opened and the settings of the License Manager should be checked so that it is possible to connect by pressing the Connect button.
2. Is the network connection between client and license server working?
The server should be pinged via its IP-address for a response. Any firewalls should be disabled between client and license server for troubleshooting reasons as they can effectively block data packets which are needed for license mechanism. If a VPN is used between client and license server all ports should be available.
3. Are necessary windows user rights in the domain given?
We highly recommend to use B1 in a windows domain, as this is the only way to manage user accounts effectively. Domain user accounts have to be configured on the domain controller computer only. For troubleshooting reasons log in at the client with the windows domain administrator account, that should prevent the user from being blocked due to a lack windows user rights. According to our recommendations the users should be Power Users on the local computer.
4. Are necessary windows user rights in a workgroup given?
If the user is in a windows workgroup, the same user account should be configured with the same password on the license server and on each client computer as well. For troubleshooting reasons a local admin account should be configured on each of these computers. As account information is stored locally on each computer, username and password must be exactly the same on each of the machines. Login with this local administrator account. According to our recommendations the users should be Power Users on the local computer.
5. Is DCOM installed and configured correctly?
On the license server DCOM interface should to be installed and configured correctly. It is located under Control panel\administrative tools\ component service. Expand and in My Computer you will find DCOM Config\SBO License. Open its Properties and check configurations in Security tab. Add user accounts there, if needed.
DCOM should be enabled on the Client machines and on the server(s). In the Component Services expand to My Computer and right click to open the Properties for My Computer. Go to the Default Properties tab and make sure that 'Enable Distributed COM on this computer' is ticked. If these settings are modifed a restart of the computer is needed for the changes to take effect.

How do I install user client access licence on Windows Server 2012

I have recently setup a Windows Server 2012 Std. I have not configured any roles yet. The server licence has been installed and activated successfully. How do I get my Windows Server CAL 2012 ( tracking ID is 15 digits) onto the server. I have google
but did not get the correct result. The closest I found was

I am not too familiar with the Server 2012 display so I am not certain if I am missing something. If the CALs are not captured on the server, will this restrict user access to the 2012 server?

HT204266 I have purchased a licence for a series of episodes, but why has one not downloaded?

I recently bought the licence to have the episodes of Episodes sownlaoded as they became available. And yet these are not showing on my purchases, although I have all but one episode thus far, and the new (complete my series) option doesn't see it. Where has it gone, how do I select a single episode to either download or redownload as necessary?

Non-interactive PDF forms & licences

Hello,
I need an advice. I created WD application using non-interactive PDF form. Actually I used UI element InteractiveForm but we didn't place any editable element (text box, dropdown list, ...) into it. We just want to generate the PDF form dynamically. And now we need to know whether it's necessary to buy any licence for this use case. Does somebody know that?
After deployment I can't open the PDF form. The report "500 Internal Server Error ..." is displayed and there is message "... The error is: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF ..." in defaltTrace file.

There is written "

Till now I didn't asked SAP for sending credential. Now I did that. Do you think that it could be the problem? I thought it's not necessary for non-interactive forms.

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 runtime LICENCE

I want to welcome everyone. It's my first post on this forum.
I want to provide my Windows Form application to a client. This application was written in VS 2010 and it uses SAP Crystal Reports for generating simple report.
I've read [Crystal Reports Licensing Explained|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/10cd9e15-120d-2c10-3fb5-be299000b6b7&utm_source=crvs2010&utm_medium=lp&utm_campaign=licensing_explained] pdf and I've learnt that in my case redistribution of software that embeds the Crystal Reports runtime engine is free.
My question is:
Is there something else I must include in my application package for instance a licence file? Or maybe I just have to include SAP CR runtime or ask user to download it from the SAP web site and that's it?

Hello Marcin,
Welcome.
Please note that whenever you distribute your application (which uses Crystal reports) to others who may not have Crystal designer product, you need to provide the runtimes along with the application. The runtimes provide the necessary dlls in the machine for running Crystal inside the app.
You can use an exe to install the CR runtimes and then deploy your app. OR you can include the msm files and create a deployment package.

Reinstallating elements 10... Licence screen goes in endless loop - solution?

Reinstalling Elements 10 after the price went up for CC-full and I downgraded to just CC-LR and PS. But can't get past accept licence screen. Click OK to accept that and it just goes round in an endless loop where the licence screen reappears each time you click the OK button.
Have a valid licence key and tried both DVD reinstall and download reinstall (This also happened with the original installation after I'd downgraded CC, hadn't used the software while had CC-Premiere Pro, but wasn't using that enough to justify cost of full CC).
Any ideas what the solution is?

Is Premiere Pro CC still installed? For now I will assume that you are trying to run Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. What is the video card/graphics card that the computer uses? If the card in not NVIDIA GeForce, then.....

a. Uninstall the usual Control Panel way.
b. Do a free ccleaner run through to get rid of any leftovers from incomplete install reinstalls.

The JCo lib of course is already installed on the server. But you'll have to reference it at least at design (compile) time; I'm unsure if they are extracted for a direct use in NWDS. If not, use some tool which searches within JARs (like WinRAR) and search for the JCo implementation classes. You then could reference them from NWDS.
As I'm unsure where they are built in, I'm also unsure if it's needed to explicitely reference them at runtime (via SharingReference in portalapp.xml). As far as I remember just from my mind, it is needed. But if you don't get it working from this description, please come back, in 8 hours I could check this out in detail...

Installed EDQ into WebLogic ... followed the Advanced installation steps but recieved this error when starting the managed server hosting dndirector app. Testing the installation on Windows 7.

SSL enabled on both Admin and edq's managed server.
Deployed into edq's managed server.
Created the required folders, tools, config, dndirector (copied required files to them) (dndirector contains the config and tools directories).
Restarted all servers. started dndirector deployment (all started health ok and active)

Hi,
Just to be clear to all reading this.
The issue here is that the default SSL certificate created during a WebLogic install is blocked by recent versions of Internet Explorer due to its keysize (512 bits) - see Microsoft knowledge base article 2661254. This will prevent the display of the HTTPS web pages required to complete an EDQ install and to administer EDQ after installation.
There are two ways to get over this:
1) Use a different browser. This will enable you to complete the installation, at least. If you then need to use IE on an ongoing basis you will also need to do 2.
2) Generate and attach a new certificate that will not be blocked (using an RSA keysize of 1024 or 2048 bits for example). To do this, please consult the Weblogic documentation for Configuring Identity and Trust, and especially the section Using the Keytool Utility.
It is not recommended to attempt to take pieces from the proper config directory and place them in the temporary directory WEB-INF. This is not necessary and does not help resolve the problem, which is really just about displaying secure web pages.
The EDQ documentation will be updated shortly to reflect the above.

Upgrade to SAP2007A - Licence Key

In our company it is mandatoty to first de-install SAP B1 2005 before we upgrade to SAP B1 2007A, ..i.e. after we have de-installed SAP2005 we have to install SAP2007.
My question: Is it necessary to download a new licence key from SAP? Or is it allowed/possible to load the old licence file of SAP2005 into the licence server of my SAP2007 installation?
I am afraid I did it the wrong way the first time I upgraded a customer system ==>
I realized that the hardware key had not changed after installing SAP2007.
On the licence request page of SAP I changed the system settings of the customer to SAP2007A (also the SP and PL) and downloaded the new licence key.
The system number and the installation number did not change.
SAP informed me that the user licences were exceeded and some modules were limited to use only for a short time!
Is it possible to solve this problem when we load the old SAP2005 licence file into the licence server of the SAP2007 installation?

The only time you need to request new license key is:
+ If your hardware key has changed
+ If the number of users has changed
+ If the license expiration date has changed
+ If components (add-ons) have changed
+ If you upgraded your system from release 6.x to release 2004
The version of the software (2007A or 2005A) is not an element in
the license key.
In this case,please delete the extra system by following the Note. 614911.

It can also help if you delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) before installing a new full Firefox copy.

It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that are locked in any way.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

9iAS Full Use Licence required to Customise Apps Reports

I have heard that it is necessary to purchase full use licences for Oracle 9i Application Server Enterprise Edition if you wish to create customised reports for Oracle Applications. Is this true? We have a few customised reports (some just layout changes to standard Oracle Apps reports) and this expense could be significant. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Here are some suggestions.
First, go to settings, genera, usage. The top of the screen will show you how much free space you have.   If you wait a little while, it will list the apps you have installed, along with the app size.   If you tap any particular app, it will then show you how much in total the app is using, including documents and data.   Using this list, identify a set of apps that you can live without.
Pay particular attention to media heavy stuff like music, videos, comics etc.     Looking through those screens, your may find some elements you can get rid of easily.
Once you do, remove the apps, or data elements in the normal fashion. To delete an app, tough and hold until it jiggles, then hit the x to delete it.
When you are done, then reboot the pad. Hopefully this will flush out the deleted content. Recheck usage, and see what has changed.
Keep in mind that you cannot fill the pad to the brim. All systems need some elbow room to run. Something on the order of 10-15 pct, so you need to get your usage number somewhere below 14 g to give it enough space to create temporary files etc.
Go back to i tunes. Cancel the sync before it erros out by clicking the x in the progress bar. Keep doing that as it steps through to get i tunes to just sit there, waiting for instructions.
Then, click on your device on the left pane, and go through the tabs for music, apps etc. and uncheck anything you have removed from your pad. If you do not do this, the sync will try to put that stuff back onto the pad and you will end up back where you started.
When you are done, click apply, then sync, and see what happens.
As you have a 16 gig machine, you will need to keep an eye on the usage numbers to keep this from happening.
