Nedd to rstore iPod? Get all of your old songs from your iPod onto your cpu
If you need to restore your iPod and all of your songs are on numerous computers goto My Computer right click the (E:) drive, then goto Open Portable Media Device. After that you should see an old looking icon, open that up and goto iPod_Control. Once in iPod_Control open up the Music folder where you will see a bunch of folders listed F00-F50. You will need to select all folders and drag them into the prefered folder.
I have a windows computer so I am not sure if it works with the Mac.
No, this doesn't work on macs.
There are also programs that do this and it is far easier. Also, you have to have view hidden files and folders enabled to see iPod_control (the "old" looking folder).
Next time, please post this in the right forum too!

how do i get all my music to transfer from an old pod to a new ipot touch? Shouldn't this be automatic when i login to itunes?
To transfer non-iTunes purchased music from an iPod to a computer requires use of a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

My MacBook Pro HD crashed. It is all up and runmning except for one issue. I have about 200 songs on my iPhone but have only gotton 53 back on my laptop from my iPhone and those are the songs I purchased via iTunes. How do I get the rest of the songs from my iPhone back onto my HD.
The songs I'm not able to import casme from CD's. Nothing from napster etc.
I've tried and tried to import them rom iTunes vis "Library" " Import"Hey kbert73
I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

I had iTunes on my old computer and I am trying to get all of the same music on my new computer. I have download iTunes and signed in, but it is not showing up in my library. How do I get all of my old music back?
It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
My hard drive crashed and i lost all my rippped cd songs from the hard drive. Luckily they are all in icloud but how do i get ripped music from icloud to redownload back to the PC all in one go???
Hi,
The simplest solution would to restore from your back up - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112
If you do not have a back, you can select first track on list in song view, from menu > edit > select all. Next ctrl+click and select download from pop up. You may wish to do this in small batches as it will take some time to download.

My computor crashed. I lost my music from my itune library. After I restarted my computor to work again, I started a new itune library with new songs. When I tried to download my new songs to my iphone, itunes said it had to erase all my old songs in order to install the new songs. Is there a way to install new songs without getting rid of my old songs?
That is the way the iphone works.
You need to copy everything from your backup copy of your computer. -

My old computer had itunes and downloaded songs that I put on my ipod. Well, my old computer got replaced years ago without saving hard drive info or passwords and my iPod burnt out years ago and will not activate. I now have a new computer and iPod and I have an iTunes account on my iPhone5. How can I get access to my old songs on new computer? Are they lost for good? I have no info about my old computer and old account.

I have a new hard drive as my old one crashed. Everything seemed to transfer fine except for my entire iTunes library. It shows all of my old songs, but when I click on one it states "the song could not be used as the original file could not be found.would you like to locate it".
Either how do I locate it, and I've tried every trick I know, or how do I restore all of my songs from one of two sources. I have my old hard drive backedup on an external drive which should have all of my songs, and I have most of my songs on my old iPhone 3S which I'm using as a backup iPod.The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place. In the case of a library moved from one system to another there are also potential permissions issues. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

How do I get my old songs (from my iPad 2) to my new iPad 2?
Hi, I want to get my old songs from my old iPad 2 to my new iPad 2. Also I want my bought apps. Oh, I have another ipad 2 because I got a replacement.
Do you sync with iTunes or backup with iCloud at all?
All you have to do is to connect the iPad to your computer and then sync with iTunes to get everything back to the new iPad. If you have synced the old iPad recently, when you connect the new iPad - you will be asked if you want to restore from the backup of the old iPad. Say yes to that option and after the Pad restores from the backup, sync with iTunes and your apps and all content should transfer to the new iPad. -
Ive just got a new iPhone4 and I am trying to get the App's ie games from my iPhone3 onto the 4 and retain the same levels that I have reached on the 3,
The Apps have gone onto the 4 but its making me re-start everything from level 1?
Ive paid $$ for the games and then more $$ within the games via iTunes for in game purchases and desperatly want the games on the 4 with the levels that I have reached on the 3!
Can anyone help!! Please!!!! My Smurfs and Animals are starving HahahahaMate, it's good to hear that you have gotten the iPhone 4 but sorry to burst your bubbles. Not all games can have the "saved" data ported over.
Normally when you save a game in iPhone, the memory used is in the flash memory of the device. Those that can be ported over, reason is due to the data being saved over the air and when you logged in on a new device, it recognises you via the userID.
Maybe you can try to backup your iPhone 3, and restore the file onto your iPhone 4. Not too sure if that would brick your phone though.
