I am new to report painter. i have already gone through some documents but i dint get a clear idea.
Can anyone give a demo for creating a Report Painter?

    First you create the report using reports 2.5. (You need to refer Application Developer's User Guide to understand Apps standards for customization)
    Then register the report in Apps:
    1) Define the executable
    2) Place the executable in the appropriate directory (You need to refer Apps installation guide to find the directory structure for placing reports)
    3) Define the concurrent program (Pay attention when you define program parameters and value sets associated)
    4) Attach your report to the request group attached to your responsibility
    5) Run the concurrent program using SRS (you will not see the report when you open Submit Requests Form, if you do have permission)
    The above procedure is applicable if you are defining the report directly in your instance. If you are using chain link, then you may have to migrate the objects appropriately.
    Some of the above activities are usually done by System Administrator and users are not given permissions.

  • Unable to create a report painter form (Message no. KH205).

    Dear all,
    I am trying to create a report painter form, but the system gives an error:
    Key figure scheme  contains errors -> check definition
    Message no. KH205
    Diagnosis
    Entry   not contained in Table T237A.
    Procedure
    Check key figure scheme  (in particular line 9062) in table T237A.
    I checked in Tcode KER1 but did not find any Key figure scheme.
    Afterwards, I checked table T237A and T237 and found out that number of hits in table 237A is less than in T237A.
    I think this is the reason why system has such reaction.
    Please help me with this issue.

    Hi,
    This issue can occur if you have transported the Key Figure Scheme (KFS) from another system and /or deleted value fields. Has this happened ?
    To fix the issue you need to renumber the T237 in the source client executing the function module RKE_FILL_TABLES_T237FF as mentioned in the note 13838.
    After this try to create a new form and check if that works. If there are still problems with the existing form/report then the best
    way might be to delete and create again

    I got some good inputs from <b>Jessie</b> on this issue and observed that the reports which are created through report painter are standard one having entries in the TSTCP table .
    <b>But the reports(Through Report Painter) which are creaed by us has no entry in TSTCP table !!</b>

    I am trying to create a report painter report which shows the details of cost elements,cost centers and internal orders in a single section.I am able to create reports with 2 characteristics (like CC/CE or IO/CE etc.) but not with 3 characteristics (CE/CC/IO)  which is my case.I am trying to get data something like below.Is this even possible using report painter?I will appreciate if any one could suggest how to do this.

    The thing is that Library is unknown, thats why I can not find it via GR22...

    Can any one help me how to create report painter from PS using Z fields which were added in table PROJ by append CI_PROJ?

    I have not worked on it but you can try this out:
    TCODE for report writer table is GRCT.
    There You need to add your z fields in some pre-defined structure like CCSS and then activate the structure and then activate characteristics.
    NOTE: 24 charcter is max. length for the characteristics.

    Can we use cost center as a characteristics in a report painter report in a library using GLPCT table?
    It shows in the selection list but if can not save report if tried to use. Is there a work around as KOSTL is not part of GLPCT?

    You can create a report based on PCA line items, where there is the cost centre
    I copied a library for PCA line items reports and made a custom report

  • Need Package Name to create SAP report in SE38

    Hello there,
    I'm in the process of working through a Unicode conversion on an ECC 6.0 system, and one of the steps is to run report TERM_DELETE_INCORRECT_CHARSET.  We are on a lower Support Pack level then when this report is delivered via OSS Note 1280494, so I need to manually create it in SE38.
    I'm used to creating Z reports and assigning them to our customer packages (Create Object Directory Entry popup box), but not used to assign to an SAP package.  When I pick one that I believe would be appropriate, I receive error "Cannot extend package ***".
    I'm hoping that someone can tell me what the appropriate package would be to get this report in the system so that I can move forward with my conversion.

    In our system, this is assigned to package STERM. If you cannot use that one, I guess a customer (Z) package would be OK.
