Need help in web design

We need simple database design for our website
www.koolbuck.com. In addition, we might need dynamic webpages using
dreamweaver. Currently we host at godaddy.com with SQL or mysql.
This is the primary requirement:
1. customers can sign up, log in, view and request to change
their info. There are about 20 data fields.
2. Admin page can view/change/delete/sort customer accounts.
We can manually edit customer's request changing their account
info. I don't know if we need this since we might be able to access
database on godaddy.com
3. If possible, know which banner, date and time they click
on the banner.

Split this into 2 scenarios
1. HTTP to SOAP (Request) treated as Asynchronous.
2. SOAP to HTTP (Responce) treated as Asynchronous.
For HTTP to SOAP synchronous scenario
Here the receiver side request and responce structures no need to create, the receiver client will provide you the XSD file, on that XSD file having the request and responce message structures, so you have to import that to XI server as External definition.
For sender HTTP you have to create 2 data types, 2 message types as well as 2 message interfaces, 2 message mappings for request and responce messages and 2 service/Message interfaces (HTTP is outbound and SOAP is inbound).
Configuration objects are same.

It may interest you to know that Adobe stopped product development and support for GoLive back on April 28, 2008. I'm flummoxed as to why you are being taught to use obsolete software. You should be working with modern web developer's tools, not an outdated product that will never again see the day of light.
Dreamweaver CS5 generates web standards code for 2011. GoLive does not. If interested, Dreamweaver has an Academic Rate for students and teachers. Please pass along this info to your teacher.

All that said, the menus in your examples are called Mega Drop-Menus and they are based on an open source JavaScript library called jQuery. If you can work with HTML and CSS source code, you can implement Mega Menus into your pages fairly easily. See link below for Demo and Code Tutorial:

Need help using WEB module in Lightroom 2 for .mac/mobile me accounts

Hello,
I need help in finding the Server path information for Lightroom 2. I am trying to use the Web module of Lightroom and build a website and instead of going through another hosting service, I want to use my Mobile ME account, can't I do that?
I have the user name and password obviously but what is the server path, protocol, path?

For those Mac Users using iWeb, MobileMe, and Lightroom 2, here are step-by-step instructions on how to create a web gallery in Lightroom, upload the gallery to MobileMe, and finally, how to link the uploaded files to the wesite you created in iWeb.
1. In the Lightroom Library module, create a collection of photos you want to display in your web gallery. For illustration purposes, we will call your collection Sunsets. Once created, it will be listed under Collections in the left panel of Lightroom.
2. Switch to the Lightroom Web module and select the Sunsets collection (from the panel on the left of the screen.)
3. Chose whichever template you like (from the list of Templates in the left panel).
4. Fine tune the appearance of the gallery using the controls in the right hand panel of Lightroom 2.
5. When you are satisfied with the gallery’s appearance, use your keyboard to type Command-S. That will save your template settings (give it a unique name when saving).
6. Open up Finder on your Mac. Inside your username folder, create a new folder… I'll call it Web Files. (You can choose any name you like, and locate the file anywhere on your Mac HD.) You have just created the folder username/Web Files.
7. Back in the Lightroom Web module, chose Export, at the bottom of the right panel, and export your gallery to the folder you just made (e.g. export to username/Web Files). By doing so, you will have created /username/Web Files/Sunsets.
8. Once again open Finder on your Mac. Go to /username/Web Files/Sunsets and you will see 3 files in the Sunsets folder: bin, index.html, and resources.
9. Open a second Finder window and in it, click on your iDisk icon. You will soon see all of the files on your iDisk.
10. In iDisk, click on the folder called /Web. You will now see the /Sites folder inside the /Web folder. I.e., /Web/Sites.
11. Drag the Sunsets file from your Mac HD to the /Sites folder on your iDisk. E.g, drag Sunsets from /username/Web Files/Sunsets on your Mac HD to the /Sites folder in iDisk /Web/Sites. The Sunsets folder (and the three files it contains) will now upload to your iDisk on MobileMe.
12. Open iWeb on your Mac. Add a new page to your website. Call it “Galleries,” or anything you like. (You can also use an existing page if you wish.)
13. On that “Galleries” web page (or on an existing web page), create a picture icon, or a word, or a symbol, or anything else that you will activate as a hyperlink to your iDisk web files - specifically, you will link it to the Sunsets folder you just uploaded to iDisk.
14. Activate the hyperlink in iWeb’s Inspector. In the URL box, type:
http://web.me.com/username/Sunsets (Don’t forget to substitute your name for “username” and the name of your gallery for “Sunsets.”)
15. Save your website in iWeb, and then publish your site.
You will NOT see your gallery in iWeb – you will see only the link to the gallery that you uploaded to iDisk.. To view your gallery, either make hyperlinks active, using the Inspector in iWeb and click on he link to the gallery, or visit your website on the internet. If you want to edit your gallery, you will have to do that in Lightroom… then repeat steps 7 – 11. You cannot edit your gallery in iWeb, but you can use iWeb to change the appearance of the link to your gallery, or to change it’s location within your website.

Need Help for Page Design Technique: Level 0 Record and Level 1 Record

Hello. I am developing HR system for a client. I design a page for "Position Information" as follows:
Level 0 record fields:
Position Number: 01
Status: Open
Because many people are in this position, level 1 record is a scroll area containing many rows belong to this Position Number as follows:
Level 1 record fields:
Profile ID: 001 effective date: xx/xx/xxxx
Profile ID: 002 effective date: xx/xx/xxxx
After save the page into Database, the data in Level 1 record table doesn't match the data in Level 0 record table.
No way to identify the rows of data in Level 1 record table belong to a specific row of data in Level 0 record table.
I need help to design the Database, that is 2 tables: many rows in second table belong to one row in first table.
Can any folks give some idea to design such a Database so that save the Page correctly ?

Table 2 should have all the key fields from Table 1, followed by atleast one more key of its own.

Need help in voip design

hi,
our customer having nearly 30 branches. 20 are connected to central office via leased lines.
And 10 branches are connected by internet.
Now customer willing to use voip on all these branches.
That is From central office to leased line offices and internet offices vice versa..
And there are analog phones with PBXs.
present along with them soft and hard IP phones are required with redundancy.
so anybody can help me in designing this voip setup? (designing means what are the required equipments and protocols for this setup)

Several ways to go here I don't really recommend the VOIP over the internet but your going to have to do a user count and peak call utilzation survey for each site.
Your probably going to go with one of the ASxxxx models for the central site and 2800 or 1800 for the remote sites. As for the VPN offices you might try CME Call Manager Express for them or keep there existing PBX's kinda depends on what there Goals are.
I can't give you specific parts because there is such a huge combination of different ways to go but your gist is you'll probably have a couple of Access-Servers to handle your primary site PSTN connections and then put something that can handle SRST Survivable Remote Site Telephony at each branch office. For your VPN sites your going to want to use Call Manager Express.

Need help with class design

I want to design and use one or more classes for a particular project I am working on.
I need some advice hopefully from someone who has experience in this area. Basically,
for this particular problem I have two database tables. I want the first class to
represent the first database table and the second class to represent the second
database table. An object of the first class will be created first, and then if certain
criteria are met then an object of the second class will be created.
Question:
Should I use classical inheritance and let the first class inherit from the second class?
Or should I use the containment delegation model and embed an object of the second
class in the first class?

I and another developer did the database design. Pretty solid design. Plus we have all of the requirements
which are very good too.
Originally I wanted just one table to contain all of the data associated with a user. Instead of ET_UserData and ET_Detailed user data I wanted just one table. But I decided to break this table up into the two tables for the following reason.
1.) This is a web application where each user logs into a web form. At a minimum, in order to use the website the session associated with each user needs the UserName, Password, First and last name.
This is the data in the first table.
If they choose to do more specialized functions on this website, then they will need all of the information (Attributes) that are located in the second table. In general 40% of the time all users will need information located in the second table.
My reasoning for breaking the table into two seperate tables is that I wanted to minimize the amount of data involved in a result set, created from the sql query. The math tells me that 60% of the time most of the data in the result set will not be used.
2.) If I create one class to represent all of the data/attributes in both tables, then my reasoning is that their will be alot of overhead in the single class because 60% of the time, a majority of the attributes are not needed and used.
I would deeply appreciate your help with this. You seem to have great insight and advice. Please help me as I increase the duke dollars Sir.

I created a project in jdeveloper and created a jsp page inside the project, all what i want is to run that page!

I am building a local web application, meaning the server is internal and will not connect to the web, only to local pcs via network. the application will insert/select data from the database server. My company wants to embed oracle technology on the datatabse and that what am trying to. I am not that expert in java and oracle in general, my main knowledge are in php, html and mysql programming. through my long internet research a lot has recommended jsp with html to be a good choice.
At beginning I played around with ADF faces, I found it annoying because I prefer coding than using drag and drop interfaces, which always create unwanted results.
Also am not that professional java programmer, i started learning jsp and found it easier.
What I am thinking of is to make a web based application that works in browsers (like php), this application has forms to insert data, and also has forms to output data for printing. that's all. I tried to make it in php, but through my little knowledge and internet researches it seems php does not work with oracle and java is the recommended choice (or it works with php but too complicated to make it)
any recommendation will be much appreciated

Need Help: Could WEBI report directly based on EXCEL file be refreshed?

In 3.0, Could WEBI reports directly based on EXCEL file be refreshed, after exporting to BOE platform?
I've made a test on that and find out WEBI report could not be freshed in Infoview while DESKI report could.
Some colleague suggest me to build the WEBI report based on a Universe created based on the EXCEL file.
I want to confirm, is it a by-design that we could only refresh WEBI report based on universe? or I could do some setting to made the refreshment of WEBI based directly on EXCEL file works?

Newbie need help with Web BEx setup!

Out of curiosity, I decided to install Netweaver so I can have a play with it. I am a complete newbie to Netweaver therefore I apologise if this is out of context...
Here's my question:
How do one go about getting Web BEx to work?
Whenever I activate the link in the portal, I get an error about unknown "SWITCH_AXES" command and 0ANALYSIS type 4 error. I search the forum and the few passing mentions of the problem points to OSS notes that is only accessible through service marketplace (which I don't have an ID). I have check the object types in BI content and seems that 0ANALYSIS is already activated. There must be something I am missing. Tried blindly and randomly installed other BI content (mostly Web templates and objects) but to no avail (and encounted a few short dumps).
Any help is greatly appreciated!
So far, here're what I did:
1) Install Netweaver 2004S ABAP and Java on the same machine. Instance 00, 01 and 02 respectively.
2) Try to run BI-Java template installer, but met with error part way. So some of the steps are done manually.
3) Set up SLD (both instance are in the landscape), and 'partially' set up SSO. Partially as while JAVA to ABAP seems to work, ABAP to JAVA is not working. Anoying but livable.
4) Installed TREX (instance 03) and are seen by ABAP and JAVA.
5) ABAP is seen in the portal and I can create transactional iviews and put them in the Portal (with working SSO).
6) Did reverse-proxying with Apache, but I don't think it matters as it seems to be a backend module issue.
7) Business planning/wizard is working (in ABAP and Portal) as is Broadcast. As you can see, Web BEx is the only thing that is not working

The default link for Web Analyser in EP 7 seems to point to the new template. When opening the analysis template in the new BEx windows tool, the same error is being reported. Using 3.5.x WAD, I can't locate the template.
More on this issue Although for that case, the meta data is not installed. Is there a way to trace missing component and reinstall the needed BI content in RSA1?
BTW, these are on JAVA SP9 and ABAP SP11.

Newbie needs help: Authorware Web Player for Intel Mac OS X

Complete newbie here in need of assistance please.
I am using a Intel MacBook Pro 3.1 (early 2007) running Leopard OSX 10.5.8
Have paid to do basic computer Microsoft Office course via net. College still uses MS 2003 and so I bought Office for Mac 04 as I was told all
I needed to be able to do this course was to be able to open office docs via email.
Have just received the course book and page 2 tells me to download Macromedia Flash and Authorware Web Players 5 and 7.
Flash loads without a glitch. Went to Adobe-Downloads-Web Players page, scrolled down to Authorware player which lists both a compact and a complete version of Web Player 7 for OS X on Safari. But here's the kicker - it specifically states for Power PCs. I tried to download it anyway and
of course it will not load. So I am apparently up the proverbial creek as far as the course goes.
So my question is this: Has Adobe just wiped its hands of all mac users of this app once Apple changed to the Intel architecture?
Or does anyone know of a work around or another app that can help me out of this problem?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I am supposed to have started this course and unbelievably cannot get past page 2!

With regards to the problems you’re having, the course book is probably indicating these older Flash and Authorware Player versions simply because they were contemporary when the book was authored. The Player teams put a lot of work into ensuring that new versions can play any content that worked in the previous versions. So my recommendation is to uninstall any older versions, and just install the most recent versions of the players. These should be capable of playing any content that was authored for use by players 5 & 7 ,etc.

Need Help Please - Data Design

Hi,
I have flow from Data Source to DSO and to cube.
The cube has 3 master data fields. 0employee, 0orgunit and 0gender. ( 0employee is having attributes 0orgunit and 0person )
0person is time dependent and 0gender is attribute of 0person.
I cant use any of 3 fields in DSO or datasource and until DSO nothing should be changed.
Now 0employee is mapped with a field from DSO. I have to get data for 0orgunit and 0gender.
Clients says to use infosource between DSO and Cube to read meta data for 0person and then use 0orgunit and 0gender as navigational attributes in cube.
I dont understand what they mean by this. At the end we need data for 0orgunit and 0gender in cube.
Also client say " 0PERSON is a time depended and you've to put the due date. For Data from actual year it would be current day, and for the "historical" ones use field_x an auxillary field in the InfoSource might help there " What do to for this?

I'm creating some SEM Management Cockpit, the problem I faced is not the BEx Query itself, but the pie chart design and display. I have processed my data in advance, so there a only 5 values in my query at a time, and these area values are not constant values. If I don't mark a selection criteria, it will display a full pie in Management Cockpit.
And if I browse the query in IE directory, I can get a desired pie chart by "Swap Axes", so I think maybe there is a same choose in Management Cockpit.

Need help re: authentication design

Hi all.
I'm designing an app from the ground up on 9i+HTMLDB (yay!), but am still climbing the learning curve WRT all the authentication issues, especially where database links are involved.
I've tried to piece together an understanding from posts here, from asktom, from docs, etc... but am still a bit fuzzy.
We're not committed to any particular authentication mechanism yet, but I'd like to take advantage of VPD/FGAC, auditing, and all the other stuff that having "real" database users gives you.
(If it helps to know: as far as I know OID authentication IS an option in our environment.)
HTMLDB will reside on one machine (A), fetching data from another machine via database links (B). I believe the HTTP server will be on yet another machine (C). I don't really have control over this.
I need a "best practice" here for having VPD work in this scenario.
My thoughts so far:
1. Set up the HTMLDB DAD with no default username/password, which would prompt the user to login via basic authentication. I'd also set up my dblink without a default username/password, so that authentication from the HTMLDB login will get passed to the linked db. Is that right?
2. Create views in A to wrap access to tables in B, e.g. "create view t as select * from t@B" (Certainly makes HTMLDB's wizard-driven development easier.)
3. Apply policies to base tables on B.
I'm unclear about where to set sys_context, and what object permissions I'll need to set on the views in A.

We should have a VPD how-to published on OTN any day now. Send us your email address (to [email protected]) and we'll send you a draft.
To address some of your questions lightly:
- You don't need any database accounts for your users. Setting the sys_context with the name of the authenticated user is the key.
- You'll use the same DAD you use now, which connects as a generic public user.
- I strongly recommend that you create views, dblinks, policies, etc., using SQL*Plus and try out a few scenarios with your schema. Then you'll learn what privileges you need on base tables vs. views, etc. Once you get the components working, using them from within an HTML DB application is simple.
- Search this forum for VPD for related discussions.
