Need Help W/ Raid Configuration

I NEED HELP W/ MY RAID CONFIGURATION.
I HAVE THE K7N2 DELTA-ILSR MOBO W/ A XP2600+, I HAVE TWO 40 GIG HARDDRIVES THAT I WANT TO RAID 0 TOGHTER.
I HAVEN'T FOUND IN THE MANUALL HOW TO SET UP THE RAID ARREY, I DONT NO HOW TO SET THE DRIVER AS FAR AS SLAVE/MASTER SETTINGS, WITCH ONE NEEDS TO GO TO WITCH CHANNEL ( PRIMARY/SECONDARY/CS).
- EVERY TIME THAT I SET IT UP THE ARREY IS SHOWING ONLY 1 DRIVE, I BELIVE THAT RAID 0 SHOULD HAVE BOTH OF THE DRIVES AS 1 BIG DRIVE, CAN SOME ONE HELP ME W/ INSTARUCTIONS HOW TO CREATE THIS ARREY?
thanks guys

I had RAID 0 set on my system. I used the MSI Live Update software to update my RAID controller because it said it needed it. It hung up in the middle of the update, so I let it sit for 24 hours. Finally I rebooted, & now it won't even see the drives. If you go with RAID 0, back up your data, and keep it backed up!!! I will say this, while it worked, it was really really fast!!! In order to make my RAID work (while it lasted) I used two SATA drives. I believe you can also use one ATA & 1 SATA instead of two SATA drives. If you use 1 ATA drive, set it to master & connect to IDE 3. This will be the only drive on that cable. During the boot up, you have to follow the prompt & press to enter the FastBuild (tm) Utility. Once there, you can choose Auto Setup & it will do the work for you. I must re-iterate, KEEP YOUR DATA BACKED UP!!!!!! I hope this helps. Good luck!

  • Need help on struts configuration with ColdFusion 10 using IIS

    We need help on struts configuration with ColdFusion 10 using IIS.
    Earlier we were using ColdFusion 8 with IIS 6 for one of our application.  This application internally calls struts. After upgrading to ColdFusion 10 struts calls are not loading. We get 404 error.
    In ColdFusion 8 struts were configured using  actions extension .do in IIS from this file-
    C:\ColdFusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll.
    But in ColdFusion 10 this file is not present as ColdFusion 10 uses Tomcat in place of Jrun.
    Also there is no information in ColdFusion log file.

    1) how can i configure the time capsule in order to operate as a remote base station synchronizing with the relay using the ethernet port?
    Configure the Time Capsule to act as a bridge (not distributing IP addresses). Also configure the Time Capsule to create an 802.11n wireless network with a unique network name (SSID). That's it.
    2) how can i avoid that my powerbook while accessing my wireless network does connect through the relay station instead of using the time capsule?
    Configure the Time Capsule to use a different network name than the WDS link between the 2 AirPort Express (AX). Configure the PowerBook to use the Time Capsule network.
    There are 2 pieces of information that you should be aware of...
    (1) None of the PowerBooks are capable of 802.11n.
    (2) The WDS link cuts your available bandwidth in half. So the wireless link to your neighbor's has a maximum potential of 27 Mbps.
    Let's for a minute assume that you have a Mac compatible with 802.11n. In your configuration the time you could take advantage of the 802.11n speed is when the Mac is sending/recieving data directly from/to the Time Capsule.
    There would be NO speed increase in Internet access. The speed of Internet access is going to be controlled by the slowest link in the path to the Internet. That is probably the connection to the ISP. The next slowest path is the WDS link to your neighbor's.
    Duane,
    I am in a similar situation, sharing internet with my neighbor. Do you think it would be plausible to hook up a vonage phone adapter to time capsule's ethernet port if time capsule is bridging from my neighbor's router in the configuration you have described? A check of my upload speed shows 1.67Mbps (powerbookG4 w/ airport extreme). Vonage reccommends 90kbps minimum upload speed. Am I going to lose some speed putting the Vonag adapter behind time capsule?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Pls. find herewith Variant Configuration Procedure steps as below
    VARIANT CONFIGURATION:
    1.Create a Material - KMAT type with Item category (002)
    2.Create Charateristics in CT04 - Zbike, where in values mention the Color of the bile like Red, Blue etc
    Create another characteristics in CT04 - ZPrice, where directly go the additional data tab and maintain the table SDCOM and field VKOND (ABAP Dictionary it will ask for).
    3.Assign these two characteristics to a Class in CL01 - ZBikeclass ( Type 300) in characteristics tab page.
    4Then go to CU41 Configuration profile select the material and enter the description click on the class assignment ie assign Zbikclass.
    5Now go back to CT04 - enter Zbike -go to values- select Red- go to extras - Other Dependencies - Select Procedure enter in front 10 write - $self.ZPrice='Red' and save.
    6.Now go back go to extras - Other Dependencies - assignments and assign relationship ( by default it will come just save).
    7.Now select Blue- go to extras - Other Dependencies - Editor - Select Procedure enter in front of 10 write - $self.ZPrice='Blue' and save.
    8.Now go back go to extras - Other Dependencies - assignments and assign relationship ( by default it will come just save).
    9.Now go to VK11 - Enter VA00 (Condition)(For Std RVA001 Pricing Procedure) - enter variant Red and Blue give the rates accordingly and create the sales order.

  • P55-GD65 (Bios 1.6) Need help with RAID-1 and SATA DVD-RW

    Sorry if this has been already asked; did a search.
    Trying to configure 2-Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750 GB drives in a RAID-1.
    I also have a SATA DVD-RW plugged in as well.
    I enabled RAID mode = RAID in BIOS, pressed CTRL-I when booting to enter Intel's RAID configure screen, when there set the RAID 1 volume, exited.
    Booted into Windows XP, went to load the RAID driver and..... no DVD-RW to read the disk. ?
    Back in the BIOS, sure enough, all the SATA devices had disappeared except for SATA 7.
    Is this a restriction of Intel RAID - that you have any RAID, all the SATA ports are RAID only?
    I couldn't find any settings to choose which SATA ports are RAID and which are not.
    Thanks,

    Quote from: NovJoe on 11-February-10, 22:03:57
    Try to move your DVD drive to another SATA port.
    I did end up moving the DVD-RW to SATA7 and yes it shows up always.
    But that is a disappointment. Apparently, with these Intel SATA controllers, RAID is an all or nothing proposition - turn on RAID and that will be the only use for SATA1-SATA6. At least that's my theory; Intel doesn't spell this out. This is a bummer for me, as I had hoped to use SATA1 and SATA2 for a RAID-1 and hang other devices off SATA3-7.
    I could use the Jmicron RAID, as that uses just two ports, but that occupies SATA7 and SATA8, and (apparently) SATA8 is the eSATA connector on the rear panel - not very useful for a RAID.

  • Need help with AS8 configuration

    Our present situation is like this:
    AS7 with single domain and multiple server instances
    instance A running on port xxx containing app1
    instance B running on port yyy containing app2
    instance C running on port zzz containing app3
    Now, when I move to AS8.1 PE, I dont see the option to create a server instance inside a domain. I need to create 3 domains in order to accomplish the same task as above. Not only that, now I need to login to 3 different admin servers to manage the 3 apps on 3 ports
    I need help with some options I can use
    thanks

    I'm not sure but i think that on 8.1 pe you can have only one server instance by default...
    But you can olso try by command line tool asadminin [installdir soas]/binuse:
    asadmin --help for a list of commands available.
    In the list should be create-instance to create a stand alone instance.

  • P35 Neo2 - OS died, need help restoring RAID after re-install of XP

    I have a P35 Neo2 with on-board Intel RAID.  I need a bit of help getting a two drive RAID going again after reinstalling XP.
    Here's my situation:
    Same hardware, MB, etc. I originally set up the system with a 20gb IDE and two 320gb SATA drives. I put the OS on the 20gb, and set the two 320's up as a RAID. I partitioned the 320's into 200gb + 120gb sections on each drive. The 200gb partitions were mirrored between the two drives, and the remaining 120gb on each drive was used as non-RAID storage space.
    I picked up a nasty virus-spyware a month or two ago that I was struggling to find a fix for when the OS began to BSOD. I put the 20gb IDE to the side, and put a 40gb IDE in it's place. I re-installed XP on it last night, and now need to get the RAID up and running again.
    I went into Disk Management and it showed three dynamic drives with a yellow triangle icon and labeled 'foreign'. I right clicked and found an option to 'import'. I clicked on import and a window popped up showing all of the partitions and logical drives I had previously created on the two drive RAID. I figured I was in business, so I clicked OK.
    Disk Management now shows one dynamic disk as 'Online', but still shows two as 'Foreign'. If I right click on them, and chose import, I get the same window showing my partitions and logical drives, but if I click OK, I get a warning message that: "Some of the volumes you are importing will lose data because you have not moved all of your disks to the system."
    I'm in over my head at this point, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    GeoD

    A 200gb partition is restored, but the 120gb is not, which is confusing. ALso, when I look at the logical drives in the partition, I'm beginning to think I had the 200gb mirror /120 gb storage backwards. The data restored is not something I would be concerned with losing. It's installed applications, and multimedia files that I could lose without worry.
    There is also 70gb dynamic drive labeled Missing.  I know I left a small portion of all three of the drives unallocated as a reserve, so that must be what this is. It's like the RAID info is incomplete which leads me to the next piece of info.
    Something I didn't initially mention for the sake of brevity, was when I right-clicked on 'Import Disk' the applet noted the disk was 3/3. I assumed that meant disk 3 of 3 disks. I've since begun to wonder if I imported the disks in the wrong order. ie) I should have imported disk 1/3 first.
    Do you know how to clear out Disk Mgt's info, so I can start over?
    I also noticed only one of the 320 SATA's shows up in Device Mgr, (DM). What I found both confused me and encouraged me.
    When I created the array, I named the the drives RAID0 and RAID1. They both show up in DM. But only one of them shows up as the drive model: WDC WD3201ABYS-01B9A0. There should be two of them.
    The OS knows there should be a RAID, but for some reason only one of the drives show up as hardware.  I rebooted and checked the data and power supply cables, (connected), the BIOS, (both drives show up) and both drives show up in Disk Mgt.  Just not in DM.
    Does that mean the HD has died?
    Part of my difficulty is I had a brain injury in 2001, followed by another in 2003. The 2nd injury caused 6 months of what the docs call it a walking coma - I walked and talked, but have no memory of the time.
    When I 'woke up' in the Fall of 2003, I found I had lost considerable cognitive function and other problems.  These problem have ended up disabling me, (I'm now on SS Disability).
    Until then I had been a 'System Admin' for micro-businesses, (max - 15 computers). I built systems and servers, installed networks, maintained them and did all the support. Basically I was these company's Sys Admin on an as-needed basis.
    One thing I lost was the ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware. Combined with other cognitive problems, I was forced into closing my business. At the time, I was maintaining close to fifty offices; ~20 had Peer-to-Peer networks & ~20 had servers I had built.
    What's doubly frustrating is I was just getting ready to sign up with an online backup service when I got hit with a nasty malware/virus that's so new there's no info on the 'net about it. I got entangled in trying to fix it and spaced out the online back up. Now I find myself in a situation where I desperately need to restore the data on these RAID drives.  Because of the memory problems I now have, I completely depend on my computer as an auxiliary 'brain' - I have stuff on these drives that I have to have.
    I didn't do much with RAID when I was still in the biz, and this is the first time I've had problems with a RAID of my own, so I'm struggling to figure this stuff out.
    Should I be able to install one of these drives by itself so I can get the data from it? The way I understand the theory of RAID is that if one drive dies, you can put another in and the mirrored portion will re-create itself on the new drive.  Couldn't that be a way to get the important data off the drive or drives if they don't want to go back together as a RAID?
    I could back each up to the online service and then just rebuild them.  Not my first choice, but it would reduce my stress level if I thought I could do it.
    Sorry to go on, but now you can see why I'm both struggling & worried.
    Thanks for any info or help.
    Later,
    GeoD

  • Large processing in ADF BC 10.1.3.4 - need help on AM configuration

    I working in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4 and ADF BC. I have some large processing and processing is getting slower over the time. For example:
    I procces tens of thounsend records over ADF BC. I get one record, do some preocessing, update that record and create new one. At begin speed is 100 records per seconds, but it slowing and on 10000 record is 10 records per second. Xms param is set to 1024M and AM configuration is not changed. Do you have some advice? Do I need some adjustments of AM configuration? Any help?
    Also I’m working on some billing system and I have similar problem. I start processing in separate thread and that work corectly, but after some time (say 1 hour and ten thousend custumers) I catch error say ‘invalid operation with view object’. I catch that error, but can’t continue proccesing. I guess that is also some problem with resources. If anyone have similar problems, please HELP :)

    Dragan,
    If you are talking about iterating over VO records - have a look at the VO tuning parameters, especially if you are using range paging mode. In range paging mode, the performance of getting the next set of rows degrades as you proceed through the result set.

  • Need help with AAA configuration

    I am trying to configure AAA on my network devices. I am using TACACS+ with an ACS (3.2) server. I have setup two user groups in the ACS server, one with enable priviledges and one without. I am able to get the AAA configuration to work when telnetting into the devices. However, when logging into the console port, the user group with enable priviledges do not go directly into enable mode as the telnetted users do. How to fix this?

    Hi,
    You will need to use the following command :-
    aaa authorization console
    This command will not show up on the help.

  • Need help with 6300 configuration settings

    I can't get sms, email or web to work on my lovely new 6300 phone (an xmas present from my daughter) :-(
    I travel between England and France and have an Orange sim card for England and an SFR card and contract in France (Orange doesnt work in the mountains).
    I managed to text when in England with the orange card. On arriving in France I found the phone was locked to Orange (first headache, given that I live in the country, over 50 miles from any Nokia dealer). I got the phone unlocked, but SMS etc were still not working and local mobile outlets hadnt a clue. So I'm on my own.
    Rummaging around this site I realised I probably needed to additional settings, and downloaded these.
    Now for the real nightmare: how the hell to set these configuration settings. I seem to be going round in circles. Is there anybody out there who could help me make some sense of the following settings???!!!
    Although helpful, this site is not good at explaining the significance of the following (and whats more I feel they should probably be listed in the reverse order?)
    - default config setting
    - preferred access point
    - personal config setting
    DEFAULT CONFIG SETTING
    I have a choice of
    - orange (inherited with branded phone and presumably needed when back in the UK?)
    - personal config
    - SFR MMS (downloaded by me from Nokia)
    - Wanadoo (downloaded by me from Nokia)
    Ive chosen personal config (see below)
    ACTIVATE DEFAULT IN ALL APPS
    I have said no ??
    PREFERRED ACCESS POINT
    Ive created one called 'Fra access point' (see next) so as to have alternative to all the orange ones,
    PERSONAL CONFIG SETTING
    I've made three: FRA access point, FRA mailbox and Fra web
    The access point has data bearer as Packet data (dont ask me what this means!) and I made up my own user name and password
    Well, there you are. I would at least like to have the sms working (I suspect the email may be another hurdle as my pop and sms servers are different).
    I do hope someone can help me

    I was disappointed by the deafening silence which followed my cry for help - perhaps a bit too meaty for a Friday afternoon?
    Anyhow, amazingly, after a loooong and expensive phone call to SFR (Vodaphone) the problem has been resolved (sort of).
    I had been fiddling around with the configurations under Settings. It turned out there are MORE settings under Message settings and these included the need to specify a number for the Message Centre. (Nowhere on the SFR site is this number given, plus their link for downloading configurations is not working...)
    Be warned, I might be back in a week or two when I have more energy to tackle email.

  • Need Help on Firewall Configuration

    Hi,
    I am facing few problems with my current external ip address configured on my outside interface of ASA 5520. Due to some reason when I am trying my external ip for e.g. x.x.x.12 I am not able to access few websites but my VPN's are woking fine. But when I change it to x.x.x.14 my VPN connection offcourse goes down but I am able to access all sites which were not accessible by using that ip. Please help me out, as I am running short of Interfaces whatever I have to do is on the same interface. I want x.x.x.12 for VPN connection and x.x.x.14 for Internet access. Can someone please help me in achieving the same.
    Thanking you.
    Regards,
    Mangesh Kamble.
    CCIE R&S

    You need to do something like this:-
    interface outside
    ip address x.x.x.12
    global (outside) 1 x.x.x.14
    nat (inside) 1 x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
    x.x.x.x = inside IP subnet
    y.y.y.y = subnet mask
    the above will:-
    1) Allow any remote VPN configured to connect on the .12 will now work
    2) Any traffic from the inside will be natt'd to x.x.x.14 on onto the internet.
    if you have internal services that are currently available from the internet via the .14 address - I suggest the below:-
    static (inside,outside) z.z.z.z x.x.x.14 netmask w.w.w.w
    z.z.z.z = interna server IP address
    w.w.w.w = mask
    The write the acl accordingly:0-
    access-list danger-in extended permit tcp any host x.x.x.14 eq 80
    access-list danger-in extended permit tcp any host x.x.x.14 eq 443
    access-list danger-in extended permit tcp any host x.x.x.14 eq 25

  • Need help with Raid 1 hard-drive replacement

    Hello All - I hope someone can help with this.
    I have a Raid 1 set-up using two 1Tb external drives (1 Seagate and 1 Lacie) which has been working perfectly - until yesterday that is. I received an error message saying the Raid 1 Set was degraded. On checking I got an error message against the Lacie HDD 'Disk failure'. Following instructions i found on Apple Support i tried to replace the failed drive with a new 1Tb drive - but then got an error message saying that the new drive was too small - on checking the original Seagate Drive reads as 999.86 Gb with the new Drive reading 999.83 Gb. I presume this is to do with formatting of the 2 drives, although one would assume (perhaps naively that as both drives are 1Tb they would be the same size when formatted!!
    In light of this I ran 'verify disk' on the Raid 1 Set and this was ok and I am now attempting to rebuild the failed Lacie drive - 10 hours still to go. However even if this works I would want to replace this disk as it is quite old now. The Raid 1 Set is backed up to Time Machine on a separate HDD.
    Can anyone suggest a way forward for me to swap out the old drive and replace it with the new drive that I have purchased - I can't see how exchanging this for another make would be any guarantee that the disk would be the same size? I understand that I can't replace the failed drive with a larger drive. The only other way I can see of proceeding is to buy a second new disk (same as I got today) and create a new Raid 1 set and copy everything across.
    Thanks in Advance

    For an external hard disk drive or other (different) system shared
    storage devices to work, they probably should be formatted in a
    format seen by both operating systems.
    If the WD unit is not seen by Windows computers on your network,
    the WD may have been formatted in HFS+ for the Macintosh. That
    is OK unless you need a Windows computer to access the same.
    The Macintosh can see and use a standard Windows disc format;
    so the external drive may need to be reformatted away from HFS+
    if that is really what is going on (and archive any data on the suspect
    drive elsewhere, since it will be lost to reformatting overwrites)
    and then both Mac OS X and Windows should see the files on there.
    And Macs set up to run Windows may also see the non-Mac format;
    without having to re-boot via BootCamp, if that option is in use.
    As to the other question(s) I really have no idea at this point in time.
    And since that may be the rub, hopefully someone will follow up here.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Need help with error configuring Identity Management in OAS 10g

    Hi,
    I am configuring SSO in OAS 10g, After successful installation (with sso option selected) when I go to the management interface and attempt to configure Identity Management it fails with the following error:
    Error configuring identity management. oracle.ias.configtool.config.ConfigException: Unable to retrieve SSO DB information.Base Exception: oracle.ias.configtool.config.ConfigException: oracle.ias.configtool.config.ConfigException: oracle.ias.configtool.config.ConfigException: Unable to retrieve SSO DB information . Base Exception : Error when reading seeAlso of replicaid entry - java.lang.NullPointerException Status code 3
    I am totally stumped, cant find any instance of this error in docs etc. PLEASE HELP.
    I am trying to setup OAS to SSO with MS AS for oracle ebusiness suite 11i.
    Thanx in Advance,
    Sean

    Check that your insfrastructure database is up and running, it's accesible, as well, check for OID procs and demons that ports for OID are open and that you can make ldapbind this last may not be necesary as the error say about database, but is good to check also. Go to *$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs* and check the files there to see if other process are having problems.

  • Need help on complex configuration

    hi all,
    i share internet access with my neighbour. in order to do it i bought two airport express base station and configured them using wds.
    the main station is installed in my neighbour apartment; the remote station is installed in my apartment and is also connected to my hi-fi (airtune is a fundamental feature i simply can't do without). a laser printer is also connected to the usb port of the remote station.
    everything is working fine, but now i would like to do more. i would like to buy a time capsule and connect it to my existing wireless network.
    time capsule does not have the airtune feature so i cannot just substitute my existing remote base station.
    unfortunatly airport express does not support the 802.11n standard. so, as far as i know, if i add a time capsule unit to my existing wireless network, it will operate in 802.11g mode thus being unusable for network backups (using time machine) or for adding an additional airdisk (network share) to the available usb port.
    before spending money on a time capsule, i need to solve this problem. here is my idea:
    1) internet router is connected to the main airport express using ethernet
    2) the main airport express announces my wireless network and act as the main wds station
    3) the second airport express is configured in relay mode and synchronize with the main station using wds. the second airport station drives a laser printer through the usb port (bonjour protocol). it is also connected to the hi-fi system (airtune). important: since it operates using the 802.11g standard, the second airport express will not be used as an access point. it should only replicate the signal from the main (using wds) to the time capsule (using ethernet), drive the laser printer and send music to my amplifier
    4) the time capsule is configured as a remote base station and synchronize with the second airport using ethernet. it is used as an access point and operates using the 802.11n standard. it also provide network backup services and share another disk through the usb port
    5) my macbook pro access the wireless network through the time capsule unit and operate using the 802.11n standard
    this solution sounds good to me, but there are a couple of things that i'm not sure can be done.
    1) how can i configure the time capsule in order to operate as a remote base station synchronizing with the relay using the ethernet port?
    2) how can i avoid that my powerbook while accessing my wireless network does connect through the relay station instead of using the time capsule? (in other words how can i configure the relay station so that it does not operate as an access point?)
    any suggestion or comment will be highly appreciated....
    thank you very much in advance

    Thank you

  • Need help with database configuration

    Hi all,
    I have an Oracle 9i release 2 Database running on Windows server 2000. There I intend to insert data using a consol application. The program runs fine from other machines connected to it through lan and data is inserted all right. But when I run the program on the same machine as the database server, it gives the following error message
    "ORA-01843: not a valid month
    ORA-06512: at "FASTDB.SPINSMODSALESCENTERSMESSAGES", line 16
    ORA-06512: at line 1 .."
    The program is written in C# and the server has .NET FrameWork 2.0 and MDAC 2.6 installed.
    I don't understand if the program were wrong, then how does it run properly from other machines. And if it runs correctly on the other machines then why doesn't it run on the server machine..
    The procedure looks like this
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SPInsModSalesCentersMessages(pv_1MessageId integer,
         pv_2requestMsgs varchar2,
    pv_3replyMsgs varchar2,
    pv_4messageStatus integer,
         pv_5outStatus out integer,
         pv_6SerialNo varchar2,
         pv_7SaveDateTime varchar2)
    AS
    vn_IsMsgsId integer;
    BEGIN
         pv_5outStatus:=-1;
         SELECT count(1) into vn_IsMsgsId
         FROM TBLDataTranc_Client
         WHERE TBLDataTranc_Client.messageId = pv_1MessageId;
         IF vn_IsMsgsId = 0 then
              INSERT INTO TBLDataTranc_Client(messageId,serialNo,saveDateTime,resquestMsgStr,replyMsgStr,messageStatus)
              VALUES(pv_1MessageId,pv_6SerialNo,to_date(pv_7SaveDateTime,'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM'),pv_2requestMsgs,pv_3replyMsgs,pv_4messageStatus);
         ELSE
              UPDATE TBLDataTranc_Client
              SET      resquestMsgStr=pv_2requestMsgs,
              replyMsgStr=pv_3replyMsgs,
              messageStatus=pv_4messageStatus,
              serialNo=pv_6SerialNo,
              saveDateTime=to_date(pv_7SaveDateTime,'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM')
              WHERE TBLDataTranc_Client.messageId = pv_1MessageId
              and TBLDataTranc_Client.messageStatus =1;
              pv_5outStatus:=1;
         END if;
    end;
    Please help me if you can.

    Hi ...
    You can use a StatsPack for guess the best distribution memory with your DB needs.
