while creating customized cubes i have some problem. please clarify this.
i have 10 Characteristics and 5 KF's.
while creating IC assign the characteristics to the dimension.
is there any proposed rule for assinging the char to dimension or i can assign randomly.

Hi magesh,
You should assign related characteristics to the same dimension.
Ex: salesregion, sales off and sales rep to the same dimension say " sales".
I.e., when the characteristics have some relationship like <b>one to many</b> you should assign them in the same dimension.
Take an ex of customerid and prodid..they have many to many relationship.In such case go for separate dimensions.
And if the characteristic is of type salesorder which has many distinct entries in fact table, go for line item dimensions.
<b>Note:</b> In line item dimension, you can include only one characteristic.

I need some help in creating custom crosstab reports.
My current report shows the number of events that have occured over the time in a day
The events and the eventdetails are read from the database before being printed on the crosstab
i.e something like this.
Note : there are no events between 3:00-3:59,5:00-5:59;6:00-6:59,7:00-7:59 (not present in the database)
hence not displayed in the reports

Now i have to enhance my reporting application to include the event details which have not happened i.e to include the time details in the crosstab reports where no events have happened

Need help with creating custom form

hi all,
i'm working on creating a new form. it has 2 blocks for 2 tables. headers and lines tables. the headers table mostly have columns that are id's from other tables. i.e. customer_id, location_id etc.. in my screen, obviously i would not show the id's. i'll display the descriptions / names of the id's instead like customer_name for customer_id... but in order to do this i created a table that joins more than 2 tables. so in the block query data source name, i enter the name of this view.. then i add a ON-INSERT, ON-UPDATE, ON-DELETE triggers at block level and i call the corresponding package which does the insert, update and delete. i'm able to insert but update and delete causes a problem. "ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a join.. ".. i'm thinking the reason is that when the form does an update or delete, it locks the record which causes the error.. also the reason i need the view is because i need to be able to query the customer_name in the screen instead of the customer_id... what i can't figure out is how i can make this work... or a work-around may be...
can anyone help.

Otherwise the generic answer is desgn as you see fit, and implement the controls as display objects or part of the MediaContainer which could be done as custom MediaElements, then link them to the MediaPlayer or MediaPlayerSprite and call the approp API methods (play/pause/stop/seek/etc.)

Need help on creating customized visual datagrid

Hi all,
I am new to Flex and just downloaded the trial version of
Flex Builder 3 to test it.
Basically, what I need is a visual representation of some
XML-data from a web-server.
I have managed to use a HttpService-object to import the
XML-file and also succesfully been able to show the data in a
DataGrid.
What I want now is to show the XML data in another visual
context. I want some child elements in the XML-file to float in the
Flex-page as graphical "bubbles" that floats around, so the user
can click on one of them to select the specif child element in the
XML-file.
Have anyone of you guys any experience on how to make that
possible? Any links to any resources etc?

I've been taken a look on the Bubble Charts diagram, but that
is not really what I am looking for.
What I need is some bubbles floating randomly on the screen
(perhaps moving around). From what I can see, the Bubble Charts
diagram requires some predifined data to construct the position og
size - I want that to be randomized (without the possibility that
the bubbles float into each other).
Can anybody help on that? Please let me know if the problem

1 solaris machine
Over solaris machine my domain is active at directory /bea/wls/wls10.3.3/ . In this domain i have a cluster with 2 managed server. Now i want to create a managed server over windows machine and want to administer that from solaris machine admin server.
Can someone please help me with a step by step approiach for this. As i saw some posts but they say that while using pack and unpack commands the direcotry structure should be same which is not possible in my case.Please suggest

It is not mandatory to have the NodeManager for Horizontal Clustering. If you dont want to use NodeManager then do the following for Horizontal Clustering:
1.. Create 2-3 Managed Servers from AdminConsole. Suppose 3 Managed Servers MS1,MS2,MS3 …which u want to run on 3 Different Physical Boxes.
2.. Install WebLogic and JDK exactly same Identical Locations in the Managed Server Boxes as well… sothat the JAVA_HOME and WL_HOME and BEA_HOME directories will be same in all the Physical Boxes.
3.. Now Use the “pack/unpack” BEA utility to make the domain zip
if you use ”Pack/Unpack” weblogic utility to do this. By doing this you can ensure that you will never get invalid (domain salt file not found) Or Many Security & SSL Handshake related errors kind of error while starting your ManagedServer remotely. (for detail of Pack/Unpack commands)

Hi Martin,
I believe that the issue you are encountering now is that you're using the wrong set of procedures for accessing MS SQL Server.
In section 5.4.1 (Setting up SAP NetWeaver System database software) in the Strategy Management configuration guide, there is a section which discusses steps that are required depending on whether or not you are using MaxDB or MS SQL Server as your system database behind NetWeaver CE. My guess is that you have not followed the steps described for SQL Server here. This is simple to do thoughm, because all you need to do is copy the files in the "<install-dir>\SAP\SSM\InternetPub\procs\sqlsrvr_procs" into the <install-dir>\SAP\SSM\InternetPub\procs" directory.
This is required because, when using Cube Builder or Entry and Appropval, the PAS component communicates directly with the system database in order to load data from there into PAS. Because MaxDB and SQL Server have different SQL syntax, specifically regarding field concatenation, slightly different SQL is required. So if you copy the SQL Server specific procedures across, you should be able to successfully build your model from Cube Builder.
Of course, having read through your question again I'm not 100% sure that this is what you are hitting. The problem you're seeing seems to be that, when we internally concatenate some selected fields together, we aren't finding a field called ID. However, the SQL select being issued doesn't seem to have returned any error messages, so I'm not sure why there is a problem referencing the field.
The only thing that comes to mind is a problem that I ran into at one point with the type of driver I was using to connect to SQL Server. The PAS component of Strategy Management, even though it runs on Windows 2003 Server 64bit, is still only a 32bit component. This means that, when configuring the System Data Sources within the ODBC applet in Control Panel, it is critical that the 32bit version of that ODBC applet be used - as documented in the note at the end of section 5.4.3 in the configuration guide. The reason this is important is because, if you use an OLEDB connection to SQL Server, for some reason the field names are not returned correctly. It is only when using the ODBC driver that the field names are returned correctly.
So please ensure that you are using the ODBC driver for your Link ID which connects to SQL Server, and not an OLEDB connection.

No need of screen exits or ABAPer.
You can easily do it with Transaction Variant using T-Code - SHD0 (SHD zero).
If you dont know how to create a Transaction Variant, just search the forum with Date Range "All" & you will get lot of guidence.
You will just need help of Basis person for removing end-user's authorization for XD01 & giving authorization for (e.g.) ZXD01

Error while creating customer

While creating customer from AR responsibility, I am getting an error while clicking "details" tab for "Ship to"
error I am getting are

any idea why is it coming, I checked Operating unit profile option i.e MO: Op Unit and MO: Sec. , all are fine.

The error is occuring because Oracle is trying to validate/set a DFF.
Check the DFF attached to the customer entity, address entity or site use entity.
Especially look at the value sets attached to the DFF.
Look at the value set definition and the default value for the field.

Getting an error "SYNTAX_ERROR" while creating customer Master T-code-"FD01". The error as follwoes
Short text :Syntax error in program "CMD_EI_API_CHECK==============CP ".
What happened? : Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLCMD_BTE_OUTBOUND" had to be terminated because it
     has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
The following syntax error occurred in program
     "CMD_EI_API_CHECK==============CP " in include
     "CMD_EI_API_CHECK==============CM04T " in
    line 82:
""LS_KNVP_NEW_PARTIAL-PERNR" and "<LS_KNVP_NEW>-PERNR" are not mutually"
    " convertible in a Unicode program. ."
The include has been created and last changed by:
    Created by: "SAP "

Information on where terminated :Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLCMD_BTE_OUTBOUND" - in
     "CMD_CUSTOMER_BTE_1321_IMPL".
    The main program was "SAPMF02D ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 330
    of the (Include) program "LCMD_BTE_OUTBOUNDU01".

hI Prasad,
It seems you are maintaining the address data for a country with jurisdiction code. Different external control systems can behave in different ways.
1. You entered a jurisdiction code that matches the postal code but not the city (possibly due to a typo).
a) Behavior when you use Taxware: There is no message and data can be saved.
b) Behavior when you use Vertex: Due to the incorrect city, no comparison jurisdiction code can be determined and message TAX_TXJCD861 is issued with a text from the vertex system that may be unintelligible.
2. You do not enter a jurisdiction code, but you do enter a postal code and a city that does not match the code (possibly due to a typo).
a) For Taxware: If the jurisdiction code could not be explicitly determined, a selection dialog box containing the relevant tax jurisdiction codes for the postal code appears. You select one. This and the corresponding city are transferred.
b) For Vertex: The TAX_TXJCD861 message is issued (behavior as in 1b). Other terms TAX_TXJCD861, TAX_TXJCD101, TAX_TXJCD107.
For resolving this issue, you can check SAP Note 677850 - Address data: Check/new determination jurisdiction code.

Internal number not showing while creating customer master record

Dear All.
After creation of account group and doing patner determination procedure, while creating customer master record it is showing all the 4 functions of partner in partner function tab page but the internal number is not displaying. I have set number range internally.

Hi,
In your partner determination procedure for Customer master, apart from assigning a Pratner proc to your A/c grp, you also need to maintain the combination of your a/c group with the partner functions that you have in your procedure.
On the left side panel, you have a link (i think 5th) saying Account group - Function assignment. In this, maintian the partner functions that you want to your a/c grp.
This will allow taking INTERNAL numbers during customer creation.
