Need suggestions on implementing copy functionality

Jdeveloper: 11.1.2.1
I have a requirement of implementing "copy order" functionality in one of our applications, where we have a search screen as a landing page where it will fetch all list of existing orders in the search results upon user search. Now we need to put a button there and when user selects any order from the search results and click "copy" button, it should copy all fields of that existing record from VO to a new record blank record other than order order_id (where it will be populated using a db_sequence). I am looking for way to copy entire row into vo instead of looping through all all attributes. Also this has around 10 child vos (like order lines, supplier list etc) which also needs to be copied.
Can someone suggest a better way to achieve this.

In my case, there are list of secondary suppliers for the existing order in one of the tab (master form and child vos as tab in my case). so I want to copy the supplier list as well from existing order.
To explain more, in my use case(master detail screen), there will be an order lets say order#1001, it will have list of line items (individual items) in tab#1, list of suppliers of those items in tab#2, taxes in tab#3 etc. Now if anyone want to create another order similar to this, they want to copy this order so that most of the data can be used and unwanted data is removed/modified.
Regarding the method which you told in your earlier post about copy record, can you please elaborate a little more so that I can try that approach.

You can copy the key of the selected rows to the copy page and based on those keys render the rows. On this copy page, once user commits after any modification to data, read those rows and save with new keys.

Need suggestion on implementing JMS message error recovery

Hi,
Our application has a JMS topic where we publish application events. Now, there can be scenarios where the consumers cannot process the message due to some infrastructure issues and would error out. We need a way so that those messages can be reprocessed again later. we are thinking of the following design for JMS message error recovery
1. Use a persistent TOPIC (this would ensure guaranteed delivery)
2. Configure a error destination on JMS topic e.g a jms queue
3. Have an error handling MDB listening to the Error destination. An error handling MDB would dequeue the errored messages from error destination and persist it to a Data base "error" table..
4. Provide a mechanism to republish those messages to topic (e.g a scheduler or admin ui or a command line utility) .. The messages would deleted from database "error" table and published to topic again....
A. Are there any issues with the above design which we need to handle?
B. Are there any additional steps required in a Cluster environment with a distributed topic and distribute error destination? (our error mdb will have one-copy-per-application setting)
B. From a performance angle, Is it OK to use persistent TOPIC ? Or will it better to persist the message to the db table and then publish it as a non persistent message ... ? (But i guess the performance should be more or less the same in both of these approaches)
C. Are there any other recommended design patterns for error recovery of JMS messages

We may not be able to go with the approach of delaying/pausing redelivery of the messsage because
1. Pausing entire MDB approach: Our MDB application consumes messages generated by different producers and our MDB needs to continue processing the messages even if messages corresponding to one producer is erroring out
2. Redelivery delay : This would only delay the retry of an errored message. But there would still be a problem if the message fails during all retries (i.e redelivery limit count). We don't want to lose this message. In our case, It is possible that a particular message cannot be processed due to unavailability of a third party system for hours or may be a day.
Basically, i am looking on approaches for a robust and performant error recovery/retry framework for our application (refer details in my first post on this thread) while fully making use of all features provided by middleware (WLS). Please advise.

Grid and Tree are alternative ways of representing data in two dimensions. One is a table, the other, well, a tree.
The addition of checkboxes is also superfluous, because a cfgrid or cftree enables you to make a selection. However, there's nothing stopping you from putting 2 or more trees in a form.
Here is an example I borrowed from the Adobe Livedocs on cftree . The cfdocexamples datasource is pre-installed in Coldfusion, so you can run it directly.

Need suggestions to implement DBaaS in my organization

Hello everybody.
Reading DBaaS documentation, I see the next roles:
EM_CLOUD_ADMINISTRATOR
EM_SSA_ADMINISTRATOR
EM_SSA_USER
The last role is very clear, it represent end users. But the others has many things on common, so I think that these roles has to be represented by administrators inside of my organization. Somebody told me that EM_SSA_ADMINISTRATOR could be represented by someone outside, like a IT administrator of the same developers ' organization, but this roles has many administrative privileges, and I not sure....
Any suggestion about this will be appreciate.

I think that both has to be controled by the organization. EM_SSA_ADMINISTRATOR can do a lot of thinks over his functions, for example:
1- Control all agents of cloud control, not only designated to cloud' servers.
2- Manage all targets, not only 's cloud.
At the end, I think to have 2 roles: Administrator of IT (EM_CLOUD and EM_SSA) and End User (SSA_User).
It would be great to know about people that have experiences about this topic, maybe some Case Study.

Driver for lexmark x1185 (series 1100) for MAC OS 10.7. Anyone has a solution ?

You should contact Lexmark. They have not released a driver for this printer since 10.3, and they no longer sell it. You could try the Generic PostScript PPD and see if you get limited functionality.

Item Conversion Template Issue for Oracle Migration - Copy functionality

Currently working on Item Conversion. This Item conversion having the fileds like (ORGANIZATION_ID,SEGMENT1,DESCRIPTION,ITEM_TYPE,COST_OF_SALES_ACCOUNT,SALES_ACCOUNT,ATTRIBUTE_CATEGORY,ATTRIBUTE1,ATTRIBUTE2,ATTRIBUTE3,ATTRIBUTE4,ATTRIBUTE5,ATTRIBUTE6,ATTRIBUTE7,ATTRIBUTE8,ATTRIBUTE9,ATTRIBUTE10,ATTRIBUTE11,ATTRIBUTE12,ATTRIBUTE13,ATTRIBUTE14,ATTRIBUTE15,GLOBAL_ATTRIBUTE10,REF_INVENTORY_ITEM_ID,REF_ORGANIZATION_ID).
I have validated those fields and loaded into interfacing to Oracle Successfully in the master Org and Validated through Frontend.
when I close the form, I will be receiving the below warning message and telling that Template id needs to be assign to the item before assigning item to the Org. The message is showing like
"*You have not applied a template to this item, please apply a template before assigning this item to an ORG.*"

Issue got solved... changed the PO line amount as:

How to implement copy paste functionality with IE

Hi Experts,
I am working on jdev 11.1.1.6.0, I have requirement to implement copy & paste functionality with IE Browser in ADF table. I have followed below link to implement the functionality.

But copy&functionality is working fine, but when table loading I lost vertical/horizontal scroll bar. Can any one suggest me what is wrong here/what i am missing here.

I can't tell. What I can tell is that the code in the sample you reference for sure doesn't cause this - but it doesn't help you I guess.
Btw.: Here is a solution that works on all browsers. The solution in the blog (Chris - please forgive me) is a bit awkward to be honest.

You can't do it directly on the iPad - the new album functionality basically only allows you to copy photos into those new albums, you can't move them. The way that I think of it as working is that you are just creating pointers to the photos in those new albums, so if you then delete the original photo on the iPad you therefore automatically delete all the pointers to it.
If you want to re-organise your albums then you will need to do it on your computer and then sync those albums over to the iPad

Need Help Troubleshooting Copy Function

When I try to copy a page using the flatbed scanner, the printer will scan the page and act like it's going to perform the copy. However, after about 20 seconds, the printer spits out a blank page and on the touchscreen, it says "Printing canceled." (I did NOT touch anything on the printer to cancel the Copy request.) After that, the printer never recovers, i.e. it hangs on the "printing canceled" message. I end up powering the printer off, waiting a few seconds, powering it back on, and trying to copy the page again. Thankfully, the copy function performs as expected, no problem.
This process occurs every time I try to copy something, and I think it's silly to believe that I need to power my printer off then turn it back on every time I want to copy something. My settings are very simple: Make one copy, 1-to-1 sided, black ink.
Any help in trying to figure out why my printer does this, or how to make it work properly on the first attempt, would be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some copy issues.
I have seen this issue in the past and I was able to get it resolved by doing one simple step.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Once the printer is powered back on, use the on/off button to do a proper power cycle. This will do a semi power reset on the printer.
Try another copy and let me know if you still have issues or if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Copy Function at a parent Level

Hi Experts.
We are trying to copy data from one category 'member' to another. We want this copy functionality only a particular Entity(which is a parent member). When we execute the copy package and give the selection for the parent entity(Both in the source and destination selection), the package is failed showing that " No Authorisation to write data to a parent member".
The situation can be better explained with the following example:
Category : Budget, Actual
Entity A
Sub entites : 1, 2, 3(Which has parent as "A")
When I execute the copy package, I am giving my selection fields as follows:
Source:                     Destination:
Actual                        Budget
A                                A
Where I want the data in 1,2,3 entites of actual to be copied to Budget.(As 1,2,3 are children of A)
Is this a feature of BPC where we cannot copy the data of all the base entites of a particular parent member??
Any suggestions on this would be helpful.

Actually, this a feature which we need to give to the user. If the user wants actual data of the previous cycle as the current cycle budgeted data for his particular unit, he uses the copy option, otherwise he ignores it. So, he should have the option to select the entity.
Moreover, the child members of the parent is not restricted to 3, they may in some cases be 50 to 60.
Considering the above two cases, we cannot go for copy at a base level, as it will result in hectic exercise.

Copy function not working in nw2004s-ip

Hi,
I am using NW2004s BI-Integrated Planning. I am using the Planning Modeler tool.
I am trying to create a copy function to copy actual data from 2006 to become plan data for 2007.
There are no variables involved. I have specified the infoprovider, fiscal year/period and value type for reporting.
The copy function reads as:
FROM :
Fiscal year / period: 001.2006; InfoProvider: CO-OM-CCA: Costs and Allocations; Value Type for Reporting: Actual
TO:
Fiscal year / period: 001.2007; InfoProvider: Plan Data; Value Type for Reporting: Plan
The fiscal year/period value chosen in both cases is a V3 variant.
I get the same error message every time
" Inconsistent time characteristics: 0FISCPER,V3/001.2007 and 0FISCYEAR,V3/2006"
Ultimately I want to copy to all periods of 2006 to 2007, but to get something working would be nice!
What am I doing wrong?

We are experiencing the same problem. We've just implemented BW-IP and we are trying to configure through the Modeler a simple copy function from 0cca_c11 to a transactional InfoCube with plan data. Also changing characteristics as: 0fiscyear, 0vtype, 0version and nothing else, both InfoCubes are selected in the filter area, and I think the Multiprovider that we've created in BW is ok. Everything seems to be so straight forward but .. .nothing is working (we had this working in the previous BW-BPS).
Can someone give us a hint of what we may be doing wrong, or a kind of checklist of the things that we have to validate so as to be sure to get this working.?
(tips about the multiprovider in bw? , tips about the filter options?, tips aobut the copy function parameters?)

Eclipse: UFL "u212com.dll" that implements this function is missing

Dear Sirs,
I try to open one of our reports with the "Crystal Reports for Eclipse 2.0" sample application. Thie report relies on a com based UFL. I get the following error message:

The fact that you can see the UFL under 'Additional Functions' tells me that the UFL is compiled as 32 bit. This is good for creating the report in the IDE which is 32 bit. But the app you are building is compiled as 64 bit. But there is no 64 bit UFL(?) that yo have built so far. So, two options;
1) Build the UFL as "Any CPU". I am not sure if this will actually work. never tried this, but I do know that it is not possible to compile an app using the CR runtime as "Any CPU". E.g.; we always recommend to compile either as 32 bit and \ or 64 bit, not "Any CPU" This may be the case with the UFL, thus the next suggestion.
2) Compile a second copy of the UFL as 64 bit. You'll then have to use 64 bit GAC and regasm on that dll.
