Need to embed frutiger font in cf document .pdf output

I need to use a frutiger font in a cfdocument. I've added the
font to the server, but don't see the font listed as an available
font in dreamweaver. How do I use this special font within a .pdf ?
With installing the font on the server, will the pdf display as
frutiger or would EVERY user need to have frutiger
installed?

"Frutiger-Roman" is the Adobe Type Foundry font, see http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?event=displayFont&code=FRUT10055000
"FrutigerLT-Bold" is the Windows TrueType variant of the standard family from Linotype, see http://www.fonts.com/font/linotype/frutiger/family
In reality the flavors of Frutiger are visually identical for normal text sizes.

    Hi Prabhudas,
    I am using the FM 'CONVERT_OTF' to convert the data to pdf.
    The FM CLOSE_FORM is creating the IT_OTF internal table and the CONVERT_PDF uses that internal table to populate the         IT_PDF internal table and then using the FM 'SO_OBJECT_SEND' to send the PDF file to mail.
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'

  • InDesign doesn't let embed the font while exporting to PDF

    I used a font while working on a document in InDesign and later while exporting to PDF I got a warning that the software is unable to include that font.
    Is there a way to go around it? It was a free cyrillic font and it's not possible to buy it. I suppose creating outlines is not the right way to go
    Thanks in advance

    … Most free fonts that I know of don't allow embedding - for this reason it's not a good idea to use a free font. …
    I'm no particular fan of so-called “free fonts” — you most often get exactly what you pay for. However, that having been said, in my years of gathering such fonts for debugging and problem solving, in fact very few of them are actually set with the protection bits to prohibit embedding. For TrueType and OpenType fonts, you can readily check outside of InDesign as to whether a font is embeddable in a PDF file. For Windows, right-click on a font file and check the properties; embedding privileges are described in one of the tabs. For MacOS, the FontBook utility can provide the same information for a font.
    The problem is that when you attempt to use a font that is physically protected against embedding, you pretty much need to follow the advice given by Eugene. Personally, I would recommend the use a different font option, checking the font prior to using it for your rights to embed it in PDF.
    Note that font licensing is legal minefield. Many fonts that are posted on-line are not really free. Some are shareware with restrictions in their written licenses that require payment for commercial use (often in ReadMe files which may somehow be “lost” when such fonts are reposted over and over again) or even pirated fonts (i.e., commercial fonts simply illegally posted on-line).
    My personal recommendation is that for any commercial use, you explicitly license your fonts from a known, reliable source to avoid possible legal issues in the future.

  • Embed fonts late in existing PDF-document

    Hello,
    I already searched for hours to find a way to embed fonts in existing pdf-documents.
    I tryed it in these ways:
         1. Creating a PS-file out of the PDF-file and the creating a PDF-file out of the PS-file --> it doesn't work, because the PS-file can not be created
         2. editing the PDF-file via the adobe sdk wich is installed whith the AdobeAcrobatStandard9 --> I don't find a way to set the fonts to embedded
    I now that it is possible to embed the fonts while open the pdf-document manually and edit it with the TouchUp-Tool. But this way we can not handle, because we need to edit thousands of documents. So we need a solution wich works as a CommandLine-Tool or so.
    I hope anyone have an idea and can help me
    Thanks a lot
    Clemens

    Acrobat 9 Standard does not have the capability.  It is, however,
    available as part of Acrobat 9 Professional.  That solution can also be
    used as part of a Batch Process to address your volume needs.
    There are no command line options available.
    Also, don't forget that Acrobat can NOT be used on a server...

  • Font changes in a pdf document

    A document was created in Word, converted to pdf and e-mailed to be signed and returned.  Upon receipt of the signed document, it was noticed that some of the fonts had changed throughout the document.  How can a font change on a pdf'd document?

    Sounds like the font information was not embedded in the file. A common issue. They will need to embed those fonts and send you a different PDF.

  • How to embed a font air Android App????

    Hi, im new to this forum so please forgive me if i question in the wrong section.
    I am Beginner and am working on an air android game in flash cs6.. i need embed fonts please help me sort out htis problem..

    The easiest for me is to simply embed your font into your main document class, like this:
    package
         import flash.display.Sprite;
         import flash.text.*;
         public final class MyApp extends Sprite
              [Embed(source="../fonts/ITCAvantGardeStd-Bold.otf", embedAsCFF = "false", fontWeight="bold", fontName = "ITCAvantGardeStd_DemiAndBold", mimeType = "application/x-font-truetype", unicodeRange="U+0021-U+007E, U+00A9, U+00AE")] // Main characters + Copyright and Registered glyphs
              static public var ITCAvantGardeStdBold:Class; // that's what the embed gets baked into
              Font.registerFont( ITCAvantGardeStdBold ); // do this once per font
              public function MyApp():void // Constructor
                   // Create a textformat that uses the font
                   var tft:TextFormat = new TextFormat( "ITCAvantGardeStd_DemiAndBold", 20, 0xffff00, true );  // size = 20 pix, color is yellow, bold = true, matching the font weight
                   // create a text field
                   var tf:TextField = new TextField();
                   with ( tf )
                        antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED; // optional
                        defaultTextFormat = tft;
                        embedFonts = true; // this is using an embedded font
                        width = 100;
                        autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
                        wordWrap = true;
                        text = "Hello world ! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah";
                        height = textHeight + 8; // nice and tight
                        border = true; // for fun
                        borderColor = 0xffff00; // yellow
                   addChild( tf );
         } // end of: class
    } // end of: package
    The embed statement contains several optional properties, like fontWeight, fontStyle, and fontFamily.
    Check here for info:  http://divillysausages.com/blog/as3_font_embedding_masterclass
    Note: Alternatively, you could use Flash Professional to embed the font into the document class via the IDE ( like so: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/quickstart/embedding_fonts.html ).
    Also, for these kinds of questions, I recommend:

  • Printing small legal document in front of every pdf output

    Hi ,
    I have a small documeent ( either doc or pdf) that needs to be printed in front of every pdf output of the report. This works fine in HTML output because we can add the name of the file to be pre-printed in the Report properties . But there is no such property for PDF output . Any workarounds ?

    I can store simple text in the DB . But i need to store Bold / Underline texts which must appear exactly in the report. I can store with tags . But that works only in HTML output . I need in PDF output.

  • How to embed fonts in an existing pdf document

    PDF Documents I am creating and emailing to my clients are showing up missing bargraps and text. I suspect embedding is not working. Is it possible or even needed to embed fonts in an existing pdf document? Or, is that done during pdf creation? -MikeT

    You'd want embedded fonts with your PDFs so as to assure fidelity of your content.
    If my local machine does not have the font used in the PDF what I view may be / can be something "off" from what you mastered.
    Perhaps squares instead of language characters.
    Distiller job options such as High Quality Print or Press Quality embed fonts (Standard does not).
    For a PDF that does not have embedded fonts a Preflight Fixup can be used to embed fonts (even one for hidden text from Searchable Image or Searchable Image (Exact) OCR output).
    Need Acrobat 9 Pro or Pro Extended.
    The fonts must be on the local machine and "known" to the OS.
    The fonts must have no license restriction(s) that preclude embedding.
    Be well...

  • I Need to Embed Fonts in my PDF

    Hi,
    I am trying to upload a pdf into a website but they say there is an error that's stopping the process from going ahead. Apparently I have to embed the fonts in my pdf first.
    I've done quite a bit of online research and found several ways of doing this - none of which seem to be possible to me!
    Is there a way that I can embed fonts without having to buy something? I have Adobe Reader, Digital Editions... but I have no idea if I have anything else (Acrobat?). I haven't deliberately bought it, but this is a brand new top-of-the-range, expensive laptop so I don't know if would have already been installed? Windows 8.2 means that it's harder than ever to navigate your way around the computer.
    Thank you in advance,
    zengirluk

    I have Adobe Reader!
    I just made a document in word and saved it as a pdf.
    I have downloaded the trial version and gone through the steps as described here:
    https://lvb.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/doc/embedfonts.pdf
    Now about to upload to the website... I'll let you know if it's worked. I have a feeling it won't have because I don't have a printer and didn't print it out. The method described above wanted me to print the document out. However I don't want or need to. I just want to embed the fonts so the website accepts my document!

    Anybody has any info about it ?
    embed the specific barcode font directly into the PDF document
    Oracle9i Reports Technical FAQ JUL-02 indicated that:
    "Oracle9i Reports also provides the functionality of PDF font embedding to
    allow you to embed the specific barcode font directly into the PDF document so
    the client does not have to have the barcode-font installed in order to view
