Need to incorporate RoboHelp into WordPress site

I have a WordPress site that I want to incorporate my RoboHelp application into.  Is this something that can be done?  Or, do I need to do the reverse and create the RoboHelp site then add the blog content?

Sorry, but that would be a direct violation of the license agreement, no?
Why would you want folks to use RoboHelp via a web site?
Or did you mean to say that you wanted to create a RoboHelp output such as WebHelp and use it? If so, that's probably possible, but would require some work. I don't know if Wordpress offers an ability to upload a folder structure.
Cheers... Rick

  • Embed EA into WordPress site.....EdgeSuite no longer works

I'm trying to embed a brief .an preso into my clients' WordPress site. In the past, I'd use the EdgeSuite plugin to assist me with this, but since this latest update, it no longer allows me to use it. Even the plugin author has said as much.
So now I'm trying to do it the old fashioned way of just moving the code over to my theme's index.php and header.php. It's just not working. All I get is the preloading circle and that's it.
Unfortunately, I cannot show you the example, since it's not public just yet.
I created a folder on my server called 'edge' and placed all my files there. Then I took the code the .html file produced and placed the scripts into my header.php (altering the references to point to the new 'edge' folder) and then the div holding the animation into my index.php since this is just for the homepage of the site. Nothing else.
The tutorials to show how to do this online are out of date, so I'm just looking for some help on the newer way to incorporate EA into my WP.

I am seeing your issue. We had an issue with a script being called twice, which in most browsers the same script being called twice in a page would just run the Script. For some reason Firefox did not allow the script to run because it was in there twice. PLUS there was an issue with the Script being INSIDE the body tag.
You could try, if you know how to edit your Wordpress templates, to try to move your Javascript to inside the <head> instead of inside the <body> tag. I know this is not ideal because of page load issues, but this may fix your issue in Firefox, assuming you want it to work in Firefox.
There seems to be a bug, from my experience so far, that Firefox does not like "inline" Javascript and is breaking the Javascript when other browsers render it fine.
I see that a call to eva() (in your cforms.js) is being used and it is being blocked by CSP (Content Security Policy). Which looks like Firefox added something in the Browser that blocks eval() from being used. Typically eval() is considered unsafe, BUT typically still runs on other browsers, seems like Firefox just breaks the code if it finds it.
You may try to use a different forms plugin too instead of cforms.js because of the eval() method being used.

  • When do I need to incorporate Dispose into my code?

I'm trying to understand (a) if I ever need to implement Dispose in my classes and (b) if I do, when do I?
Part of the reason for asking is because I have implemented Dispose in some of my classes, because I wanted to ensure that collections of items were being correctly cleaned up when I didn't need them any longer, but navigating away from pages that results
in a lot of items being disposed is causing the app to "lock up" for some time.
What is the best practice guidance and advice, please? From what I've read, it looks like Store apps *don't* generally need to Dispose, even though they are built on top of .NET and .NET *does* need Dispose.
    Thanks.

I need to drill into the whole "do I need to unhook from events" a bit more because I'm getting very confused as to when I need to and when I don't. Here are a couple of examples:
    1. I have a class called RHObjectFile and it defines the following:
    publicstaticeventEventHandlerFileChangedEvent;
and some other classes (e.g. RHIndividualRecord) where the constructor includes:
    RHObjectFile.FileChangedEvent += HandleFileChangeEvent;
So, given that arrangement, do I need to unhook from FileChangedEvent in order for GC to realise that an instance of RHIndividualRecord is no longer in use? If GC gets rid of an instance of RHIndividualRecord, does it automatically (magically) unhook from
    event handlers?
    2. Pages typically have something like the following in their constructor:
    this.navigationHelper =
    newNavigationHelper(this);
    this.navigationHelper.LoadState +=
    navigationHelper_LoadState;this.navigationHelper.SaveState
    += navigationHelper_SaveState;
Again, do I need to unhook from LoadState/SaveState in order to allow GC to clean up the Page instance when it isn't in use any more?
    Thanks.

I need help with color pallette in iPhoto 11. I have created a book and would like to use a different color background than those given in "background." I have found the color palettes but can't seem to incorporate them into my backgrounds palette.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
Additionally I have no idea what you are saying here
I have found the color palettes but can't seem to incorporate them into my backgrounds palette.
And it always helps for you to dientify the version of iPhoto that you are using

  • I can log in to my wordpress site or rather I can get into the back end of my site but I can no longer see the edit button on Firefox

I use firefox 24 and it was working fine up until last weekend then I could no longer see the edit button on my wordpress site.
The thing is that I can get into my site via the site-wp-admin url as cookies allow me to do so but once I click on visit site then I cannot do anything because there are no edit buttons and not a log in button either so I do not even have the option of trying and failing or succeeding.
It is quite puzzling as it happened just recently.
I now have to use chrome to do all my editing since there is no problems on that browser

Let me start with the general advise...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Nube needs help inserting a JQuery horizontal menu bar into my site-help.

Please forgive the ignorance of my questions but I am new to Mobile site design and Dreamweaver.
I am trying to build a responsive web site for my company that can be viewed on multiple platforms, but am having trouble inserting a responsive menu and responsive slide show.
This post is in regard to the  menu bar, which I have created using JQuery on a seperate page. I have managed to get the layout to work but still can't figure out how to create mouse overs for the links
or how to insert it into my site.
    Please help.
Why can't I see the nav bar in the site when I paste in?
All I see is the text and no images. I know I am pasting the code in the wrong place.
    Where do I insert it?
Below is the code for the site and below that is the code for the menu bar.
Where do I insert it? Help.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Reload the page. If it doesn't load, choose Activity from Safari's Window menu, find that picture in the list, and see what it says to the right; this may reveal what the problem is.

  • Converting my site into my wordpress site for my blog

Hi I'm having a lot of trouble converting my site www.dor2dor.com into a wordpress site so I can use it as my blog. To be honest I haven't got a clue what i'm doing here as I don't use wordpress.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

If you really want to transfer everything to WordPress, you will have to create new Pages (as opposed to new Posts) and transfer your copy and images from the current site to each of the corresponding WordPress Pages you create. Having taken a quick look at your website, however, why not keep your current set up? A much less time consuming solution is to make the blog link much more prominent throughout the current site. As it is now, it's buried at the end About Us.

  • Integrate HTML Help into a WordPress site (or similar)

    Folks,
Has anyone ever had any success integrating a HTML Help into a WordPress site (i.e. search)?
We are building a customer support community and WordPress looks like the current favorite platform.
We would like users to be able so search and be presented with relevant:
    Help posts
    Forum topics
    Pages
    Blog posts
    etc.
    All suggestions most welcome!
    Thanks,
    Donal

    Hi there
If you have access to the WordPress site via FTP or means other than the WordPress front end, it shouldn't be too bad. Just copy the output files to the site and create a link from one of the site pages to the WebHelp or other start page.
I used to be involved with a church web site that worked that way. The main site editor didn't understand WordPress, so there were many pages she edited outside of WordPress and used DreamWeaver to do it. The site was a mish mash combination of odd pages.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Can web pages generated with Muse be integrated into a wordpress site?

Can web pages generated with Muse be integrated into a wordpress site?
Can sites/pages generated with Adobe muse be published through word press?

Muse is static HTML, WordPress is a PHP-based CMS. Neither has anything to do with the other and depending on whether you use a pre-hosted WordPress install it may not even possible to include any static HTML nor modify the WP theme. Otherwise your static muse site would simply be a sub-domain/ sub-section in a separate folder that can be linked from the main WP install, but beyond that they don't interact.

  • Does anyone know how to upload a video from Premiere 11 into VideoPress on a WordPress site?

Can't get it to load as an .mp4 file although that file is compatible.

    haningkayaker
On what computer operating system are you running your Premiere Elements 11?
I have never gotten involved with the Video Press plugin on a WordPress site.
Assuming the following is what you are trying to work with
WordPress › VideoPress « WordPress Plugins
What are the properties of your .mp4 Premiere Elements 11 file that I assume you have saved to the computer hard drive
for upload to the web site from there.
Have you seen the following and gone through all the recommended steps for the video upload?
    VideoPress — Support — WordPress.com
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.

  • Why don't wordpress sites load on my macbook pro?

When im at home, wordpress sites do not load up on my macbook pro. It doesn't matter which browser i'm using they simply never load. there are no error messages. this happens whether i am connected via wifi, or wired into the modem. its the same thing.
when i am away from home on another internet connection the same pages load perfectly.
other computers in the house, including my friend's macbook pro can load the same sites perfectly also. it makes no sense.
I have tried to empty the cache's, checked my security settings to make sure there are no firewalls or anything, but nothing has helped.
anyone any ideas of anything else i can try or why on earth this would be happening. i really need to use wordpress on a daily basis from home!
    thanks
    Jonny

It's very unlikely that updating your system will help a problem like this.
A couple things to try...  first, create a new user on your machine and log in to that account, then try accessing those sites.  If they work fine, there's something screwed up with your user account.  (The trick will be figuring out what that is!)
If that doesn't help, reboot in safe mode by holding down the shift key while starting up (you can let go when the Apple logo appears).  This disables all third-party software and clears certain caches.  Does the problem persist?  If not, but it comes back after rebooting normally, you have some third-party software that is causing the problem.  (Perhaps an internet security app that is misbehaving?)
Also, try changing your DNS settings to use either Google or OpenDNS servers.  Instructions should be found through links on either of those pages.
BTW, what happens when you visit my self-hosted WordPress blog (see below)?  Does it work fine?  If so, it's related to the wordpress.com domain rather than to WordPress itself.
    http://www.reedcorner.net/news.php
(Note that my pages contain links to other pages that promote my services, and this should not be taken as an endorsement of my services by Apple.)

  • Can a sub domain be created in order to have a wordpress site?

I am developing a wordpress based site that involves jquery masonry. However, I want to keep the ecommerce of my BC site in tact.  I understand that business catalyst does not support php. My developer said that the best thing to do is to get a sub domain and host it from a different provider. Is this correct?

    Hi,
You could create a subdomain like blog.mydomain.com and setup your DNS to point to another provider's web server that is running PHP (like GoDaddy) so you can run a WordPress blog theme that incorporates jQuery Masonry. So your developer is correct.
The only downside is Google will treat the subdomain like it is a 2nd website, not part of the main domain, so if you are writing a blog to build up your ranking for the main BC site where your e-commerce products are this won't accomplish that as well.
As you know, Google doesn't like indexing product-only e-commerce websites very well, so I usually recommend to my clients that they also provide lots of written articles on their e-commerce domain, which Google will index and rank high and those articles bring visitors into the site. It is naturally best for those articles to be on the same domain as the online shop, so the main domain gets credit for those articles. If you put them on a subdomain, it gets the credit, not the main site. You would of course have links from the subdomain site pointing to the main domain shop, and as you know, inbound links to your domain from another help raise your Google rank, but Google will only give you partial credit because it will notice that the subdomain site is linking so many times onlyto the same ecommerce site. In other words it will know you are using one site just to promote another and those links aren't coming from many sources.
Another approach is to accomplish your Masonry blog on BC. You can run jQuery Masonry or jQuery Isotope plug-in (both were written by http://metafizzy.co/ ) with a BC blog if you want to, so it can look just like the WordPress site you were thinking about. I've already used jQuery Isotope with the BC blog module, but on a site where each Blog Post is a photo rather than a written article. You can see it in action in the Gallery sections at http://www.BigDayWeddings.net where each photo you see is actually a blog post.  You could peek at my code there in the source code to see how that's working.  If you don't want to code it all from scratch like I did, you can on ThemeForest.net find an HTML template that does masonry or Isotope blogs (often the same templates sold there for WordPress for $35 also have an HTML version as well sold for only $15) but you'd still have to integrate that HTML template into the BC infrastructure for the blog.
