  • Coding interactive print button in Indesign

we create pdf brochures from Indesign. A number of buttons appear on every page which have been coded in Indesign, coded using the 'interactive button options' function. We have a print button on every page and there is no option to code this within Indesign and is becoming a tedious chore to code in the final pdf every time we make a brochure. I have experimented with some js in Indesign but can't get anything to work.
can anyone offer a solution please.

thanks, I went to the thread and used the script, changing email to print. I get an error though.

  • How do I make a print button that prints "current page" as default

I am working in Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 and have created "print
buttons" in the pdf document I am working in. The print dialog box has "print all" automatically selected as the current default. How can
I create buttons that bring the user to the print dialog box automatically selected at "print current page?" I want the user to hit
the print button and have it automatically print the single page that they are viewing only, so that no one will accidentally print the entire book.

  • Is it possible to create a PDF "print" button from InDesign behaviors?

In Acrobat, there is a way to create a button with a behavior for "print" that will queue the document up for printing. I don't see a way to do this on the InDesign end, though, via behaviors. Something that will export from InDesign and carry over to the PDF. As this is something I'd like to use on every page, adding it to a template would be much easier than manually adding these to each page in Acrobat post-export.
Any guidance anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

In Acrobat, Print is a button option, however, it only opens the Print dialog box, so the user can set choices and then print.

  • Need to make cool rollover buttons

    Hello all,
This is for a commercial website I'm working on and I hit a snag with.
Here's what I'm trying to do: On the site header, there are topics such as, "Apartments" and the like. What the client wants is to be able to have the viewer rollover the word, "Apartments" and have two options appear over the word. Something like, "One Bed Room" and "Two Bed Room". The visitor could then mouse up and click the option they want to see, navigating the site to that page. Oh, and they want the all the words to change color as well, like in a normal rollover link.
Any thoughts? I know how to make buttons that change when you rollover them, but getting text to appear and then to have two separate links to pick from has me stymied. Thanks!

    Hmmm. That could work!
if you are into post editing, iweb (out the box) has no facilities to add HTML, CSS nor javascript directly onto the page. so most people post edit.
and if you think of html snippet widget, forget it because iweb html snippet widget only adds stuff to a markup page and shows it thru an iframe element...
you have to make a very big area for the snippet - if the drop down is very long; then you will have to get the links to open in the same window... on and on...
that said, you can build your own widgets (iweb3) to overcome the above problems only (if only) you know iweb, HTML, DOM, CSS and javascript... here is example built with my 3 widgets:

  • Adding a print button to iProcurement Requistions View page

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to add a print button or link to all requesitions that have been approved . This button/link need to invoke a custom Oracle report passing the relevant parameters in this case the requisition number.
I have seen a post whenin tapash has explained how to invoke a report . But what Ineed to know is whether I can add the link/button by personazilation and if so after doing so how to invoke the report.
    Thanks

I thought you had to put the button/link on top of the page, looks like you want it at row level. This makes it more simple, you donot need to extend the controller you can just use personalization and do it. Here is how you do it,
    - add the button/link using personalization
    - while setting the destinationURI property you need to add a parameter to pass the requisitionId
for example if you need to launch the page http://www.yahoo.com then you need to set the destinationURI as
    http://www.yahoo.com&requisitionId={@<viewAtrribute>}
where the viewAttribute represents the viewAttribute name from which the requistionId filed derives it's value. You will be able to find the view attribute name easily using About this page. If you expand the page structure in About this page you should find the viewAttribute mapped to the requisitionId field in the table.

  • Print button in Flash

    Hi all,
new to this forum.... and flash.
I am creating an Indesign file which will be sent to clients as a pdf. It has buttons to go navigate through the pages and to register which is fine. I have created those  in Flash but I also need to create a print button (to print the pdf) and a close button (to close the pdf). Dont really know that much about scripting. Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks
    Eve

    Hi,
Apparently, what you are trying to achieve in Flash is not a very difficult task. The solution is to create a button symbol and using the on release feature in the actionscript. I found this website that shows how users can add print buttons to their flash animation.

  • Print button

    Hi Experts,
Can you please take some time to tell me how to add the print button to a view/page.
    Thanks !!!
    Anand

    Hey Anand,
If you are using a Overview page in your component, the Print functionality should be available by default. I dont think we have an option to make the print button available for views.

  • Print button - captivate swf within falsh swf

Hi I have a nice problem and I hope someone might have an
    answer for me.
I am making an interactive tool book. The design,
backgrounds, button etc are all in flash. I have also done a quiz
in captivate which has a bank of 50 questions but only 20 random
ones appear each time you do the quiz.
As you cannot import a random quiz captivate file into flash
I have made a movie clip titled container that the captivate quiz
swf. file loads into. This all works without a problem. However I
have to make a print button also in flash so the user can print
their result page (the result page is apart of the captivate file).
    I have tried every print Action script I can think of;
however, none of them print the results. The page prints with all
the flash created objects (background, buttons etc) but it will not
print the end results page that appears in the movie clip titled:
container, which is located in the middle of the flash stage.
Although if I click print in the flash player file menu it
    does......
Can anyone help me or have I confused you all??
    From Sez

    Markus,
I use "this." in the Actionscript, but I don't think that's the problem. In the attached file you'll see my problem.

  • Print button in Print view not working; how can I get it to work normally again?

Please help: a few weeks ago, my Print button was working fine, then I imported a few 3rd party print templates, and now the Print button is not a clickable option. I've removed the 3rd party templates but it still does not work  (see button in bottom right hand corner) - how I can make the print button work again? Please advise..

Because it is set to print to a JPEG File instead of send to a Printer. Change the Print To: pulldown in the Print Job panel to "Printer"

  • How to make a back button using AS3

I'm trying to do my first project using ActionScript in CS4. I need to make a back button that will take the user back to the last "slide" they were on.
I went through the effort of creating a back button that I only realized didn't work after I was finished. I had it set up to just go to the previous slide and totally ignored the fact that there are several branching scenarios.

I'm more or less having to teach myself at this point. Where should I go to learn about using an array?

  • Question: I need to make an InDesign CS5 slide show

I need to make an InDesign CS5 slide show that loops. Adobe says this is possible, but I don't understand how to do it in a loop and without button activation. (In other words, it should be activated "on loading." Can anyone help me?

    Hi Mrs. Fooj,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The person who created the slideshow for you in iMovie could burn additional DVD's for you, or export the iMovie project to iTunes to create the file you need.
iMovie '11: Use your movie in GarageBand or other Apple applications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2281?viewlocale=en_US
And this information is from the iMovie Help menu in the application:
To send your project to iTunes:
Select a project in the Project Library, and then choose Share > iTunes.
Select one or more movie sizes to render from the table of options.
    Click Publish.
Rendering can take up to several minutes depending on the size of your movie and whether you’re rendering several sizes at once. After the project has finished rendering, iTunes opens automatically.
Depending on how you plan to use the shared project, do any of the following:In iTunes, click Movies (below Library) to see your movie and broadcast it through Apple TV or sync it to iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!
    - Judy
