Need to Open a new Window through Oracle Function

Hi all ,
I have created an Oracle Function say Func1 and tagged it to a menu of HTML TAB Type .
The function is working fine . However , i have a requirement.Whenever i click on the Func1 Tab , the function should open in a new window .
The Web_Html Call of the function is a call to a HTML Page.
I want the HTML page to open in a new window
Kindly advise how to do the same

The server cannot affect windows on the client machine.
All a server sees is a request, to which it sends a response.
What the client does with that response is up to it.
Simplest way is in viewresult.jsp set the target of the form to be "_blank"
This tells it to open the results of the request into a new window.
You can't decide at the server side whether to remain on the same page, or open a new window. You have to make that decision when you submit the page - not on the results of that submission.

I need to save a file as a PDF but when Illustrator needs to open a new window (ie, when I have to select the location the file is saved to) the window opens for a split second before disappearing. It is the same when trying to open a file or any time Illustrator needs to open a new window. The window appears for a split second then vanishes. From what I've tried, it is only Illustrator doing it. Photoshop displays this error: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." when I first try and open a file but will only do it the first time and then it works ok. Indesign is working fine.
I've tried re-installing Illustrator and Photoshop, restarting my computer but the issue is still there. Is there anything else I can do myself or is there a chance it is an issue with my computer?

I am also having this problem. The issue appears with both my rMacBook pro as well as my 2012 imac. Very frustrating.

I no longer have tabs on the window - if I want to go anywhere I need to open a new window

Getting black screens when i open a new window through a link or try to look at the menu options.

When i load a new window/click to go to a website, all i get is a black screen. then when i want to look at my bookmarks all i get is a black pop up screen (cant see anything). if i try to navigate to the other tabs open they become black as well

I did find the problem... It was the DivX Plugin for Firefox. I just found I wasn't using it. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled it. FYI I am running Windows 7.

Problem in opening a new window

Hi,
I have a search region and a results table based on search parameters entered in search region.
In results table, I have a button in each row, on click of which I need to open a new window.
To this new window, I need to pass one of the attributes in results table and 2 search parameters.
To open a new window, I used _blank in target frame. Now I cannot use destination URI as I need to send 2 search parameters which are not part of VO.
So I used partialAction, and in processFormRequest I’m getting search parameters and passing to new page.
But even though I used target frame, new page opens in same window.
This is because of partial action. If I use destination uri without passing search params it opens in new window.
Please let me know of any solution.

I am an absolute beginner.
I get data from DB in a pipe seperated string
retval = abc|123|xyz|999
I need to open a new window and populate the data in it.
1. How do i open a new window
2. How do i pass data to the new window
3. How can i display the formatted data in the new window

This will direct users to a new window and pass the retval arg to it. On the other window, use request.getAttribute("retval"); to get the value passed in.

When I swap to private browsing firefox allows me to anter the website address directly into the location bar - but this is a slow [prcess to swap back and forth - also by dint of using private browsing I loose my website information.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Menu opens in new window, need to change it

How to open a new window from submit button &dialog page in current window?

We have a requirement, wherein we have a OAF search page for PO lines with search criteria, Go button to search ,result region (table layout) and a submit button(Create new expedite).
1. Now user can select some lines from result region and click on Submit button.
2. On click of submit button we need to pop up a window or may be a dialog page asking that " Do you want open supplier web link portal or not?".
3. If user clicks yes(in Dialog page) then first fetch the URL from a look up maintained in Oracle EBS on the basis of supplier of the lines selected and then open that URL in a new window and side by side we need to open a dialog page in search page asking "whether user has updated the expedite info in supplier portal or not?". On basis of this we need to updated some count in custom tables.
So in step 3 i am facing problem, that how to open an URL in a new window through a submit button and side by side want to open a dialog page in the current window also.
Hope a quick response from you all.
Note:- To open a custom page we can have a link or button(button of type button and not submit button) on base page with destination url property as following javascript:

You just need to attach a submit action in button bean and not submit button bean, based on the output of confirm type of alert in javascript.
Here is code u need to put in destination url of the button:
//replace <confirm message> by message you want to show.

DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.

First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

Opening a New Window in SJSC

I have a slight problem here, inside my table I have a hyperlink, based on the records retrieved, this hyperlink will have different URLs. In the button_action() I have the following code:

1) The problem is that because the URL is preset before the table is populated, when I specified a hyperlink_action() to be set as the action when the link is clicked, the method is not called. The new window page is opened directly. I cannot populate any JSF components as the action() method is not called to extract the row details and put into the request bean.
2) If I place the .setURL() codes in the action method, the window created will contain the exact page as the parent window. The desired page will not be loaded.
I'm now stuck. Would appreciate it if anybody can guide me in the right way of getting the new window populated with the results.

If you want to open a new window besides your original window, then you have to do it with javascript. Put a code similar like this in your onClik property of your hyperlink:
window.open("faces/Page1.jsp", "","toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=400,height=450");
return false;When you click the hyperlink, it will open a second window of Page1.jsp. You can use if-else construct in javascript to choose which page you want to show.
If you want to pass a value to the second window, you can use query string like this:

IFrame always opening in new window in adf 11.6

HI ,
I m facing one issue related to the iframe in adf11.6,
Upon click of button , i need to display the webpage in inlineframe, Here i am trying to integrate the oracle reporting tool .
but only reporting toll URL opening in new window always ,i m not understanding whats the issue . ?
When i try provide source URL starts with --> domain name or IPAddress (Locally installed reporting tool) , the url always opnes in new window .?

This sounds like a frame busting issue, there is a parameter related to this in the web.xml, adding that to your search terms might give you some useful results

Javascript / Open a new Window

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein on the click of the Submit Button , I need to open a new page in a new window, leaving the current OA page as it is (lets say yahoo.com , google.fr ...) which is not constant and that (the destination uri) is decided at the run time .
The one option i can think of is using javascript in the controller class , wherein on the click of the submit button i can construct the url and open the page programmaticaly (is this possible?) .
or does anyone has any other suggestion?

Let me start again
you got standard oracle applications and there is a third party system (lets say for instance http://www.thirdparty.com)
now the client has 100 user licenses on this third party system
user1 pwd1
user2 pwd2
user3 pwd3
and so on....
so when a user in Oracle Applications goes to the page where there is a submit button (button1) and clicks it , it should open a new window and take him to
http://www.thirdparty.com&user=user1&pwd=pwd1(if it is the first user clicking the button and NOT the first user accessing that oracle application page, which means you cannot create the url beforehand in proecssrequest)
now if the second user accesses that page and does not click the submit button , you don't need to use 'user2 account.
the thrid user accesses that page and clicks the submit button , it should open a new window and take him to
http://www.thirdparty.com&user=user2&pwd=pwd2 (that is use the second user account in sequence from the list of 100 user account)
and the process goes on like this till all the 100 user accounts are used up
and then you go back to user1 account and start all over again.

Event triggered by iView Opening in New Window

Hi Portal Developers,
I'm trying to write an iView will exist as an invisible iView on the default framework page and listen for the event of an iView opening a new window. However, I can't find an event that distinguishes between an iView opening in a new window or an iView opening in the existing content area.
For example, as a test to capture the event that is occurring, I have the following block of javascript that displays a message when a user navigates around in the Portal using some different Portal events.

All this returns when a I click on an iView that opens in a new window is "Navigate", which is no different from when an iView is clicked that does not open in a new window. I've looked through the SAP-delivered javascript files and I've also done an HTTP Trace hoping to find exactly what is happening when an iView is launched in a new window.
A trace I ran indicates that the js13_spcf.js file is called when an iView is launched in a new window. In this file, I see that there is a "mode" parameter that is passed to the "Navigate" event that I'm subscribing too. For the Open in New Window option, this seems to be set to a value of 2, which makes sense. Is there anyway I can read this "Mode" value of the event that is raised as I subscribe to the event from my iView? Any other suggestions are welcome as well!

Hi Matt,
For an iView opening in a new window to communicate with an iView on the default framework, a "bridge" needs to exist.
That's where EPCMPROXY from epcfproxy.js comes into play.
In the iView that is opening up in a new window, you can raise an event such as,
var win_id = EPCMPROXY.getUniqueWindowId();
EPCMPROXY.raiseEvent("urn:com.sapportals.portal:browser", "", "", win_id);
