Need to Pick the file with continious records in File Sender

Hi,
I am Working with File to Idoc Scenario. Where I am using Field Fixed length as FCC. The fixed length of each record is 200.
I am able to pick the first 200 characters.
For example:
If the file has 600 characters continiously. The first 200 belong to first record and second from 201 to 400 and so on.
How can i control this in File adapter.

Your data type record should have an occurence of 0..unbounded or 1..unbounded. In file content conversion, leave the recordset per message empty.
Let's say you have the following structure:
DT_MAIN_SEGMENT (0..1)
RECORDSET (1..unbounded)
In file content conversion, DT_MAIN_SEGMENT will be your recordset name and RECORDSET will be your recordset structure.

Hello Experts,
I have below scenario.
Please suggest me which might be the best approch to work on.
1) XML file to XML file
I will have 1 pretty huge XML file which i need to break in multiple XML files with 200 records each.
1) first approch i can have bpm in which i can split the file according to my requirement.
2) Second approch i can create 2 scenarios in which 1st scenario will pick up XML file and create multiple flat files with File content conversion. Second scenario will pick up all these flat files and create XML files.
2) XML file to XML file
Or i can have multiple files with 1 record per file and i need to merge in multiple XML files with 200 records in each.
So its kind of 1:N or M:N scenarios.
Please tell me which is might be better performance and design wise.
Or if you have any idea in any other way i can do this, then please reply as soon as possbile.
Please tell me if you have OS command for the same or some script to run or anything which i can implement.

what is your senario? is it File to File?
You can use multi mapping concept without BPM. You can handle the 200 records per message logic in the multimapping.

I have uploaded the file succesfully.. now we need to download the file...... which has been uploaded..... for that we have implemnted the Query as..
select max(id) from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES ,here the latest uploaded record will be retrieved and shown.
Now We want to provide the user with a list of files to pick from for downloading..,Dat is he should be shown the list of files which is available from dat he has to select one file to downlaod ???

Create a report using the following SQL statement:
SELECT ID,
FILENAME,
CREATED_ON
FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
ORDER BY CREATED_ON DESCThere are other fields available from the table, but the above gives you a start.
Then edit the report's Report Attributes.
Edit the CREATED_ON column and pick a Number/Date Format to use for the display and Apply Changes
Edit the ID column. In the Column Link section, enter:
Link Text: <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#download.gif" alt="Download">
Target: URL
URL: p?n=#ID#
Apply Changes and run your report

Implementing these two alternatives in OWB, I encounter the following problems:
* How to specify LENGTH SEMANTICS CHAR?
* How to suppress the POSITION definition?
* How to define a flat file with variable length and how to specify the number of bytes containing the length definition?
Or is there another way that can be implemented using OWB?

Hi Carsten
If you need to support the LENGTH SEMANTICS CHAR clause in an external table then one option is to use the unbound external table and capture the access parameters manually. To create an unbound external table you can skip the selection of a base file in the external table wizard. Then when the external table is edited you will get an Access Parameters tab where you can define the parameters. In 11gR2 the File to Oracle external table can also add this clause via an option.

Reading fixed length file with different record types

Hi,
I need to read a fixed-length file with different record types, but the record identifier is in 31st position and not in 1st position.
But if I give 31 as position in File adpater wizard, BPEL takes whole 1-31 as identifier.
How we need to read such files.

Flat File with multiple record types (OWB 10.2.0.2)

Hi!
I`m using OWB 10.2.0.2 and I`m trying to load a flat file with multiple record types, using SQL LOADER.
In the flat file editor in the Record tab, I`ve set the type values and the corresponding record names like this:
Type Value Record Name
======== ===========
T TRAILER
0 DETAILS
1 DETAILS
2 DETAILS
When using this flat file in a mapping to load the data in a staging table, the generated code looks like this:
INTO TABLE TRAILER
TRUNCATE
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
WHEN (1:1) = 'T'
INTO TABLE DETAILS
APPEND
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
WHEN (1:1) = '0,1,2'
The above clause (WHEN (1:1) = '0,1,2') is wrong as I expect one "INTO TABLE..." clause for each record type.
Could this be a bug or am I doing something wrong?

We`re using two target tables, one for the trailer record and the other for the details records.
We are facing this problem from the moment we upgraded from OWB 10.1 to OWB 10.2.0.2, so we think it must be something with the way the sql loader code is generated in the new version.
As our data sources are mainly flat files coming from mainframes, this is a huge problem for us. We even asked an expert in DW from Oracle to help us on this, but still haven`t found a solution.
Is there any workaround for this or should we forget sql loader and go with an external tables + custom PL/SQL code solution?

I need help picking the correct/best hard drive upgrade for my MBP. It is the 15" 2GHz Core Duo. Came with a spacious 90GB drive.
Suggestions and recommendations very appreciated.

It will take almost any 2.5 inch sata drive.
Take a look at www.newegg.com and www.macsales.com to see what's out there and how much it costs.
Toshiba have a 320gb 2,.5 inch drive in the works, but it's not quite out yet and will be expensive.

Generate target/out file with header record as Record Count ?

Hi Kareem, Please try the below approach. Pipeline 1: Load actual data(without header with record count) from source to target. Let say your file name is intermediate1.dat Pipeline 2: Take the target from pipeline 1 as source and create the header with count of source file using an aggregator. The filename of target for pipeline 2 will be your final file(header and detail data). Pipeline 3: Take the target of pipeline 1 again and do 1-to-1 load to the target file of second pipeline. In session properties, dont forget to tick the check box append if exists for the third pipeline target. There may be other simple approaches also. If you have no time in hand try the above approach. So.. You need to contact the carrier for the iPhone's original sim card, and request they unlock it. The carrier is the only one that can unlock the sim of the iPhone.

I work in the power conversion industry and do these types of measurements all the time…
Do you want to just measure power quality or create and measure power quality problems?
What hardware are you using?
Power quality analyzer?
Programmable AC power source?
Fast Transient Generator?
Here is an example of what I do.
To create PQ problems I use a California Instruments AC source set to nominal power for the unit under test. Using Labview I program several transients consisting of fixed and random duration dropouts and surges. I also use a Schaffer Fast Transient Burst Generator to apply high frequency noise bursts directly onto power lines.
For measuring power quality I use a Voltech PM3000A power analyzer and Labview to measure everything from voltage, current, and frequency, to harmonics and %THD

File with list of .txt files in a specific directory

Hi,
I need to create a file with list of .txt files in a specific directory (actually the command will be used by a java application).
I am using the below command,
ls home/apptmt/park/*.txt > home/apptmt/park/reportgen.txt
but this command prints output as
home/apptmt/park/report1.txt
home/apptmt/park/report2.txt
home/apptmt/park/report3.txt
I need only the files in reportgen.txt file, like
report1.txt
report2.txt
report3.txt
any one help me on the command I should use to get this output?
