Is this possible? Do I need to go to a computer? Also, will yahoo give me my lost password info or grant me a new one through customer service? Thanks!

So, I did the update, and now my Playbook constantly asks me for my Yahoo e-mail password. Not my hotmail password, not my work email password, just Yahoo. So ... wtf?

Delete the account, reboot your PlayBook and setup the problem account again. Hopefully this will help.

Yahoo e-mail password rejected

I've had my yahoo e-mail account set up and working with my BIS account for years. Today I received an e-mail "action required: update password". I haven't changed my Yahoo password. Then when I try to update the password on the BIS account, it won't accept it- says it's invalid. I can still sign in to my Yahoo account on the web, so I know the password is still good! Can anyone help me?

I have the same problem, or at least got the same message. I have been using the service successfully since december last with an old bberry 7290 and btinternet mail (provided by yahoo). I can access my email account fine from a web browser (but see below). I got the message at 20.32 pm yesterday (which interestingly may be about the same time as the previous correspondent if he / she in on EST which is 5 hours behind the UK). When I access the email set up command via the url on the yahoo site (blackberry.com/yahoo/mail) it first off names my account but then says it is invalid. If I try to delete, edit or validate it, or even add it again it says "ERROR the site cannot be accessed in this manner. Please use the URL or link provided by your service provider" - which I thought I was). A hint may be that I renewed my broadband service with BT just before I got this message. While trying to fix it today and re logging in to my email account it thanked me for renewing my service so I am wondering if somehow it cancelled and renewed something and screwed it up)
any help gratefully received.

Yahoo e-mail password incorrect

when trying to open my yahoo e-mail on my iphone I received the following message after prompting me to enter my password.
the user name or password for apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect.
I also went into settings and tried to re-enter my password and got the same message....

I'm so happy that I'm not the only one. I'm from Malaysia and I have issues with Yahoo Mail for about 1 month already. Before this, Yahoo Push Mails used to be working perfectly, then all of a sudden, it's not pushing instantly anymore, it's like I got the push mail to my iPhone 4S about 2 hours at least after I received the mail. But then about 1 week ago, it seemed to be fine again, it pushes just almost instantly. Until yesterday night, around 12 midnight, I stopped receiving any mails to my iPhone. Well I can still check them on browsers but not anymore in the built in Mail app. Everytime I try to open the Mail app, i'll be prompted saying that the username and password is incorrect, bla bla bla... I've tried everything, deleting and adding back the mail account, reboot my iPhone, but non of them worked. Now, Apple or Yahoo, whoever held the responsibility should know that how important push mails are to us, we missed everything if it's not working. Please fix it soon... I love Apple and Yahoo, don't make me change my point of view.

I used BlackBerry Bridge successfully to access my Yahoo and Gmail accounts prior to the OS 2.0 release. After installing the OS 2.0 upgrade, I set up my Yahoo and Gmail accounts directly on the PlayBook. During the past two weeks, while Gmail remains stable, I find Yahoo loses its server connection and the Playbook constantly calls for the password to be re-input, sometimes several times while I am using it.
I am not using "In Private" browsing, as was suggested be disabled in another thread.
I'm stumped. The BBBridge was fine for me, however now I am spoiled by having internet e-mail directly on the Playbook. Any thoughts?

remove the yahoo account and restart playbook
then add it back in and sii if it works better

Repeating request for e-mail password

Using Apple Mail with a verizon e-dress (and also an alias), I get several requests a day to enter my password. I do it and I click 'remember the password' but within an hour or two I get the same message popping up.
Why and what can I do to stop it?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

Restart your iPhone.
Add the account. (Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>Yahoo

I changed my yahoo e-mail password, do I need to update the password on my ipod touch too? If I don't, will my ipod stop receiving my e-mails??

Perhaps you can help me. I just purchased an ipod touch and having a terrible problem with access to the i tunes account, and possible other things on the ipod.
It is complicated. When i try to access i tunes they say my password is not valid. When i change my password on the io pod, I can't get into the apple forums, and when i change the password again, i can;t get into the ipod i i itunes on the i pod.
it seems that changing one, disallows entry on the other and says that this password has been, or is being used.
The problem is, when i set up the i pod touch i used a password and a different e-mail address, and i pod does not recognize the original password i set up (whatever that was as they had me changing back and forth like a yo yo)
I think I need verbal advice from apple but don't know how to contact them, I do not have applecare for this device-is there anyway I can get their help?

Dotmac Mail Password - How to Retireve?

Hi,
Trying to setup a phone and mail with mac mail. The phone requests my dotmac mail password. I haven't used the password in a longtime; I do not remember what it is now.
Question - Is there a way to see the password? Is it the same for all mac applications, such as the log in for this forum?

Yahoo! Mail - No PUSH NOTIFICATIONS From Sleep Via Wi-Fi - Is There A Fix?

I'm a power user, 100% positive I've got all the settings correct in the iPad. Push is turned to 'on', I've been to the Advanced screen and made sure that Yahoo is individually set to Push as well. While I have the 3G model since Friday's release, I have not set up an ATT account, have Cellular Data turned off. I've got strong wi-fi at work and at home, so no need for ATT yet.
When I am actively using the iPad, I'll hear the 'ding' and see that I've got new Yahoo Mail. Push works in that scenario. But when the iPad has been sitting with its backlight off, in Sleep on the counter for, say, 20 minutes, I'll hear my iPhone (connected to ATT, not wi-fi) ding-ding-dinging away with new mail notifications while my iPad stays silent.
Is Yahoo Mail push simply not supported via wi-fi? Is it not supported by the iPad at all?
I've read many other posts in this forum from other frustrated Yahoo Mail users. Is there a fix?

If I put my iPhone into Airplane mode and then turn on WiFi (effectively making it WiFi only) then Yahoo Mail push won't work. It doesn't matter if the phone is awake or not.
Yahoo actually states that push mail will only work for the iPhone if you are connected to a carrier. See their troubleshooting guide.
That said, I don't know if this was changed for the iPad or not.
Yahoo Push mail appears to be broken today anyway. At least I'm not getting push notifications on either of my Yahoo accounts.

Her E-Mail is the same.
When we try to reset a password via iForgot through E-Mail - but we can not receive a letter with reset instructions.

Hi I need help logging into Spotify with email. I have spotfity on my computer and when I reset my password, it won't let me login. I keep getting this error message " The username or password is incorrect" I reset my password again and it still keeps giving me that error message. Yahoo e-mail missing password

A new I-pad for Christmas presented the following problem. The settings etc were transferred via i-tunes backup and everything was fine except that the yahoo e-mail account consistently refused to connect with an error message of password missing. Deleting and re-instating the account gave the same result. The old Ipad and a mac pro could access the account as before via the web and regular e-mail accounts. Fortunately a tech savvy son-in-law fixed the issue by using another way to setup the yahoo mail account. On my iphone4 i need to be able to use both TDS and Yahoo e-mail. TDS works only sporadically. For instance, today I was able to both send and receive, then an hour later could not send. got the message that the server was not recognized.

On my iphone4 I need to be able to receive and send both TDS and Yahoo e-mail accounts (I also need to access from my Macbook Pro and my HP desktop). I have NO problem with Yahoo, but with TDS, the e-mail seemed to work on my phone.... and then it didn't.) In adding the TDS account, I chose "other" ( TDS is somehow accessed on the back end through gmail). For the incoming server I used the Incoming Sever Name of pop.gmail.com and the Outgoing Mail Server as smtp.gmail.com. I have using SSL "on" and the server port is 995. Is this setup correct for TDS?

FYI: POP will by default, delete messages from the server after downloading them (This applies to most pop clients, computer or mobile). POP is old tech and is not recommended if IMAP or Exchange are available. The default when setting up a g-mail type account is IMAP. Full synchronization with the server. You may also be able to set it up as an Exchange account, allowing for push e-mail and sync of calendars and contacts as well. See the Gmail help pages for instructions.

your email password is with your ISP so they can help. but if it is saved in the email app you can just change the ports in the preferneces without a password.
