Nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01403: no data found
i am using oracle9.1 and use odbc.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
kk
It will be great if you provide some more basic details like:
What activity you was doing??
How you are doing?
Did you get this error earlier also??
Where did you get this error?
It looks like you are using some sort of cursor and not handling the exception properly.

My customer has an issue, and error message as below:
<PRE>Oracle error 1403: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512:
at line 1 has been detected in FND_SESSION_MANAGEMENT.CHECK_SESSION. Your
session is no longer valid.</PRE>
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
And customer’s statement is: Upgrade from EBS 11.5.10 to 12.1.3. Login the EBS, open any forms and put it in idle. Then refresh the form, error happens
Then, I checked ISP, and found two notes:
Note 1284094.1: Web ADI Journal Upload Errors With ORA-01403 No Data Found ORA-06512 At Line Has Been Detected In FND_SESSION_MANAGEMENT.CHECK_SESSION.Your Session Is No Longer Valid (Doc ID 1284094.1)
Note 1319380.1: Webadi Gl Journal Posting Errors After Atg R12.1.3 (Doc ID 1319380.1)
But these two notes are both WebADI.
Following is the data collection from customer:
1. Run UNIX command to check .class file version:

2. Run SQL to check you patch level:
SELECT * FROM fnd_product_installations WHERE patch_level LIKE '%BNE%';--> R12.BNE.B.3
3. Run SQL to check patch '9940148' applied or not:

So, my question is: Customer’s BneViewerUtils.java version is already 120.33.12010000.17, which greater than 120.33.12010000.14. Is there any others solutions for this issue? Does customer still need to apply patch '9940148' based on action plan of

You are running the Examples application shipped with WLS, which I guest
the
correct DB to connect with is Cloudscape yet to Oracle, unless you make
changes to the original ConnectionPool in the examples. Anyhow, please
show
us your configuration of the ConnectionPool used when this error pops.

That 'getInt' method returns a Java 'int'. It will attempt to convert the actual data value in the result set column to an int.
If the value is too large, too small or isn't even numeric you will get an exception.
Isolate the problem (e.g. by debugging) to the row giving the exception and then examine the actual data value. If you are using NetBeans (or other) you can use the 'getString' method to see what the value is that is causing the problem.
The actual 'solution' to the problem depends on your database, the table column definition and the business rules being implemented.
You table could contain 'dirty' data and contain values larger than you want to be stored.
Or your actual data could be correct and you are just using 'getInt' instead of 'getBigDecimal' or other method to get the value.
Don't apply a 'solution' until you actually know what the problem is and the proper solution to implement. -

Failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01403: no data found
I'm going to post and answer my own question in the hope that others will not have to struggle with this error.
Using a report of the type PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL and using generic columns you may run into this error
failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-01403: no data found
The SQL will run stand alone but the report fails.
There is a setting just below the source you should check:
"Maximum number of generic report columns"
In my case the number of columns was dynamic and when it exceeded the number set as the maximium number of generic columns I received the 1403 error.
Hope this helps someone.
GregThanks for much for the pointer. For anyone else struggling with this too, I found that my generic columns had unordered themselves. Reordering them solved the problem for me.

Dear Legends,
My requirement is to call store procedure from BPEL. So for I created a BPEL with 2 assign activity and 1 Invoke activity to Invoke the DB adapter. After Deploying I tested the process but it shows the following error:

6. Is that anything related to XA and NON-XA Data Source?
Any kind of help would be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Thanks,
KarthikCan you check the following ?
a. Hopefully the when you execute the procedure using sql tool it works fine and returns data.
b. Is there any input parameter available for procedure ?
c. IF yes, is the parameter is mapped with the procedure parameter and populated with value before calling the procedure ?
d. In the audit trial, you can see from the invoke activity to see whether the parameter is populated with value or not ?
e. Check the input parameter by executing the procedure with sql tool to see whether this request is receiving any data in return or not ?

Many thanks in advance....This is a PL/SQL error, it occurs when a cursor (SQL statement) is called and returned no values, typically you should have an exception handler in the PL/SQL to mange this. But sometimes you want the PL/SQL to fail.
The parameters you are using to invoke the PL/SQL procedure returned no values, therefore to fix provide information that does return values, or in the PL/SQL put an exception handler in to manage the no-data-found error, e.g.
begin
Select ...

when no_data_found then

When merging workspace I get ORA-01403: no data found error in WMSYS.LT
Hi,
I am investigating an error in a remote system with very little info to go on apart from a stacktrace! This is what it says:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "WMSYS.LT", line 6028
ORA-06512: at line 1
The context is an attempt to merge a child workspace into LIVE (LIVE being its direct parent).
it is on Oracle Database 11.1.0.7.
Can you advise what this error means? I am unable to dig deeper into it because the PL-SQL source code for WMSYS.LT is wrapped.
thanks
SimonHi,
Are you able to get a standard trace of the error from the remote database? ora-1403 errors can come from a number of places, so an errorstack trace is usually needed to determine the cause.

Java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence
We are getting 'Fetch out of sequence' error whrn we try to execute a 'for update' query.
We are first inserting values into the DLX_ASSET table and if there is image to be inserted the particualr row is fetched using the query. The insert query inserts values into the database.
'SELECT HIGH_RES_IMAGE FROM DLX_ASSET WHERE ASSET_ID ="+assetId+ " FOR UPDATE'. While executing this query we are getting this exception. This is not happening when we are trying it from our local machine. But its happening everywhere else where its deployed.
We are using Websphere Application Server 6 and Oracle 9i. We have set autommit to false before the method is called and are commiting the transaction only after the whole set of queries are executed.
Please see below the code snippet,

ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: in SYSMAN.MGMT_CREDENTIAL
Hi all,
I'm trying to configure grid agent 10.2.0.5 on Windows server 2008 (x64).
One step is to configure host credentials in GRID enterprise manager.
When I put those credentials (user and password) I recive the following error:
ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: in "SYSMAN.MGMT_CREDENTIAL"
File emoms.trc shows the following:

In order to perform the deploy of the Agent for MS SQL Server it is mandatory to set host/agent credentials

Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance. If you search in MOS for: ORA-06512: in "SYSMAN.MGMT_CREDENTIAL"

1- target server does not have a FQDN but only short name. Check your targets.xml file on de target server if the server has a short or long name.
Can you ping the OMS server by ip-address, short name, FQDN from the target server. From the OMS server can you ping the target server by ip,short name and FQDN?. If not check your hosts file or DNS.
2- Is the host user giving the problem or is it the SYDBA user? Is the SYSDBA user granted sysdba rights?
3- Is the DBConsole agent running also on the target?
4- Other?

Strange problem: ORA-01403: no data found when report has a sort
Hi,
I have a report which behaves very strangely but only for one particular user. The report runs fine when no columns are set as sort-by in the report attributes. As soon as I try and set a column to sort (any column, it doesn't matter) this user gets the error message:
failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-01403: no data found
appear where the report should be on the page. The rest of the page displays OK. No other users are affected. If I remove the sort then the report is OK for this user (unsorted though!)
The report is a structured query with custom column headings, nothing unusual, quite basic. I have tried exporting and reimporting the page but it doesn't fix it. Same behaviour for this particular page in our test system as well.
I could rebuild the page but I'd rather know what is wrong in case it happens to some other region.
Thanks,
SteveSteve,
The reports engine stores the sort settings in the user preferences. This is done so that when you return to a report, it maintains the earlier sort settings. Like in your response to the HTML DB studio posting, you would keep your report sorted by "Created On" descending or ascending even when you come back another time. It's save to remove those preferences; all that's going to happen is that your users will see the report using the report's default settings the next time they go to that page. I will try to investigate this problem further, whatever additional information you can provide, will be helpful,

ORA-01403: No data found (only affects 1 user)
Hi
We have an application that is used by 100+ users a day - 1 particular user however is unable to view the report and gets the following error message (no one else experiences this):
failed to parse SQL Query
ORA-01403: No data found
For info all users sign-in automatically via a custom funtion for SSO and I have tried getting her to delete temporary internet files, accessing from the internal intranet (instead of a favourite etc) revoking her access etc but nothing has worked.
Grateful for any suggestions you may have in resolving this for the user
Cheers JamieHi,
it is always good to mention which version you are using of APEX and the database version.
Maybe this thread can give you some light: failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01403: no data found

Found a thread related to this but there it was explained that the error was occuring when trying to notify regarding output through email. In our case, issue is occuring just during scheduling itslef.
Also I haved checked the following schedular tables in my database.
SQL> select table_name from all_tables where table_name like 'S_NQ%'
+2 /+
TABLE_NAME
S_NQ_ERR_MSG
S_NQ_INSTANCE
S_NQ_JOB_PARAM
S_NQ_JOB
SQL> select SEQ_NAME.CURRVAL FROM DUAL;
select SEQ_NAME.CURRVAL FROM DUAL
*+
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02289: sequence does not exist
Please help me out in solving this as I have tried almost all possible solutions.
Thanks,
Sri Harsha.
Edited by: user10545574 on Dec 20, 2009 10:24 PMHello,
In the delivery email configuration server page (under BI Publisher Admin Tab), the username / password to enter is the one defined on the email server itself. It is the user that will be user to send the emails when scedhuling a report.
It may not be Administrator/ Administrator (not a user defined with OBI admin tool) but the username/password defined on the email server itself.
Moreover, to properly configure the BI Publisher Scheduler, it is a prerequistes to create bipsched user on Oracle DB and install the schema tables in Oracle DB (by clicking on Install Schema button after defining database connection under Admin / Scheduler Configuration tab)
From the error your are getting 'SEQ_NAME unknown..., it appears that the tables are not created'.
Hope this helps and good luck
Matthieu
