NetBackup 3.4 Client is not starting up in Solaris 10

Hello All,
I have a problem while connecting to NetBackup Client on Solaris 10. Here is a line from inetd.conf:
bpcd stream tcp nowait root /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpcd bpcd
However the inetd.conf is no longer directly used to configure inetd. Service manifest for bpcd has already been generated as /var/svc/manifest/network/bpcd-tcp.xml using inetconv. Yet, when I try to telnet to the bpcd port, I am getting 'unable to connect'. Everything works just fine on Solaris 8.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

First off almost all of the Netbackup products have a problem running on Solaris 10. You have to upgrade to the latest and gratest version and then you have to install a bunch of patches for solaris 10. The main reason for this is because of the way solaris handles services now. There are a bunch of docs on the veritas site that explain the exact procedure for installing the updates to get netbackup working on sol 10.

    i have started a local client copy but after taking 3 hour it not start copy
    in sm12 , it shows 2 entries r lock, i have deleted these entries and stop/start mmc. try again local client copy, same enteries r lock in sm12

    [CreateException: Failed to create Flaim DB.]
    whether Client will create a DB when it first start up or not ?
    I try to uninstall .NET 2.0 & ifolder client, I still get the same result.
    Who had seem similar issue like me, and could provide method for me ??

    This error FERR_FILE_EXISTS comes when the db is already accessed by one process and another process is trying to access the same.
    Could you check if simias.exe is already running. If so, kill it and restart.

  • Can not start installation of Solaris 8

    (-: frenchee having pb with english speaking, please be nice : I still try to solve it ;-)
    On my Ultra1 creator, there is "ultrapenguin" a release for ultrasparc of Linux RH 5.2.
    I put the CD which I downloaded from "sun download center" ; I start the sun ; I press "stop+A" ; I send "boot cdrom" command ; it reply "can not start with file and args given" or something like that...
    The same procedure works fine with the install CD of RedHat 5.2 or with the install CD of Debian Potato (all for sparc, of course).
    What is wrong ??

    I found the solution last sunday : one of my friend give me an old version of Solaris (2.6) with the entire docs and packaging.
    In these docs, I found the command I (and you) have to type if you want to run the installation :
    after [stop]+[a], type the line
    boot cdrom - browser
    then, come back here and say to all (and to Sun corp) that a little readme file on the CD would be nice... ;-)

  • Lync Client won't Start

    Hi,
    Had a weird issue the other day where as the Lync 2010 Client would not start. I had not received any updates, but it gets to signing in and then crashes.
    I've removed it and removed the Microsoft Visual 2008 C++ that comes with it and reinstalled it but I still get the error:
    Microsoft Lync 2010 has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly....
    When I debug it through Visual Studio, I get:

    Have you tried to log on another Windows account and see if s/he can start the Lync client?
    Would you please delete the sip profile folder for this user on the computer and try again?The Sip folder path is like below

    We are trying to send the request from SONICMQ JMS to R/3 and trying to post the response to Sonic Queue. but we are facing some problems for JMS adapter .
    but in JMS sender and receiver adapter i gave different IP and port for listen the SONIC queue. why it is showing in different IP here? this message got from logviewer.

    What is the error displayed on the Adapter Monitoring pages?
    Generally the correct error descriptions for connectivity issues are found on adapter monitoring UI than any other.
    Other possible reasons could be :
    <i>JMS Service is not started
    The following hosts could not be reached 143:223:221:10:50310</i> This might be issue with your network settings i.e. XI server is unable to reach the specified IP on specified port.

    Hi everyone,
    I assign IP addresses via my router but today installed OpenVPN and it depends on the DHCP Client service. I checked in services and found it wasn't running. If I try starting it I get this message "Windows could not start the DHCP Client
    service on Local Computer." "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.".
    There's plenty of info out there about this issue but nothing seems to fix it for me. I've tried the following as an administrator,
    "sfc /scannow" - It reported and error which it fixed but after a restart the problem persists.
    "NET  LOCALGROUP   administrators  "NT Authority\Local Service"   /add"
    "netsh winsock reset catalog"
    I also checked that all dependencies of the DHCP Client service are working. I used "CMD /K
    SC QC DHCP" to check the dependencies and compared them to an identical computer and they are. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sgern/archive/2013/03/21/10404146.aspx reports a simialr issue (in German), but on an RDS server.
    The issue described there is that App-V tries to resolve/access a folder GUID int the registry that isn't there.
    In the above scenario, it was the Music Library.
    Activating the Music Library (causeng the key to be written) and deactivating it right away solved the issue. Of course *your* GUID/feature might be another one.
    (and no, Sebastian does not explain _why_ App-V tries to access your favorite music)
