Netflix stopped working

I had Netflix streaming for one day, the next day I got a "plug-in failure" message and haven't been able to resolve it!

Did you ever get this resolved?  I suddenly have the same problem.  tried changing dns, downloading silverlight, rebooting and was re-baptized... all for naught.

Netflix stopped working on my dinosaur iPad this evening.
Tried all Netflix fixes, spoke to tech support, no help.
App loads to browse screen, then crashes back to iPad home screen.
Was working earlier in the day, and roku was fine up until I switched to another room.
I saw they released a new version today.
    Any thoughts?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

  • Why would Lightroom video capabilities/iTunes import/Netflix streaming/Photoshop all stop working at once?

    Hi forum --
Several programs all stopped working at the same time and will only work (briefly) right after I've restarted my computer including:
    - iTunes audio cd importing
    - Lightroom video importing and playback
Netflix streaming (on both Safari and Chrome) won't work and Photoshop (CS4) won't open at all.
Videos work without a problem in: Quicktime, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and Bridge CS4 and CS6.  YouTube also works without a problem.
Maybe the problems are conincidence, but this seems like it is posisbly a software problem with my computer, not my programs.
I have tried reinstalling Ligthroom and resetting the preferences files but they don't help.
The only things that I can think of that happened is that I:
    1. downloaded my own videos from my own YouTube acocunt after my external hard drive failed and maybe there was a virus?
    2. I deleted some programs with "Clean My Mac 2" and maybe it deleted some crucial file someplace?
I am running a 2009 13" MacBook Pro with a 2.53 Ghz processor and 4 GB RAM and Mountain Lion (everything is up to date).
    Thank you for any suggestions!

I had problems with streaming until I changed the WiFi channel that I was using.  The original one conflicted with my neighbor.  After that, MOST of my streaming problems vanished.  Occasionally, a movie would pause for more buffering and I eventually ran an ethernet cable from the Apple TV to my Apple Extreme (to eliminate the Wifi).  I have not had a single problem since then (except to repair the drywall after running the ethernet from one floor to another).  :-)

  • The sound on all of my game apps and my alerts has stopped working. Still works for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube... Anything video related. Anyone else have this problem or know what I should do to fix it?

The sound on all of my game apps and my alerts has stopped working. Still works for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube... Anything video related. Anyone else have this problem or know what I should do to fix it?

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • IPad stopped working, only recognized by iTunes in DFU Mode

    A1459 iPad (4th generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular
A week ago, I was watching Netflix on my iPad. The screen went blue and then the device completely stopped working.
All I can do is put the device in DFU Mode and attempt to restore. I get the same result every time
"The iPad could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (4005)."
I brought it into the Apple store, where they could not provide any information as to why the device stopped working.
I am just curious at this point and trying to figure out what could have caused this. I purchased it 2 years ago, used it on the train commuting to and from the city and for the last year it was used lightly at home for browsing the internet and watching movies.

This is the only support document with information on error 4005. It seems to be a disconnect error, and can happen for any reason. The diagnostics they use at Apple do not always provide the information about why, just that there is a hardware error. Any number of things can go wrong with electronics. I'm sorry I could not be any more specific, but then, neither could Apple.

  • Itunes stops working when playing video downloads

    Hi,
I've installed iTunes on my windows 8 platform and every
time I try playing downloaded video purchases iTunes closes down with the
message “iTunes has stopped working”. I've looked through the forums and have
followed guidance to uninstall iTunes and other apple software and reinstall. I
have also followed the guidance to delete and move dll files. Have also opened
iTunes  in safe mode. Nothing works. I'm
on the verge of dropping iTunes and getting Netflix. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

  • Google Chromecast stopped work - Parental controls...

    Hi
I have been using a Chromecast to watch Netflix on my Sony Bravia TV and it has worked fine for several months. Now it has stopped working and I see the message "Chromecast connected to -BT Hub name- but can't access the internet":
The only thing that I can think of that has changed is my I'm on hte BT Parental Controls trial. This allows me to restrict internet access at hte household/router level. I've disabled these completely (see screenshot below) and reconfigured the Chromecast, including a factory reset, but I can't seem to get past this message.
All other internet access works fine - nothing is blocked. I've even unboxed my 2nd Chromecast and set that up and it has the same issue.
Could it be that the Parental Controls have changed hte settings in the Hub? Maybe somethign to do with UPnP?
    Any help welcomed.
    Richard

    Hi,
I have had the same problem and have been tearing my hair out trying to solve it!!
The solution I found was as follows:
go into hub manager and do the following
    turn off smart set up
    switch off Upnp control
Then log into My BT and turn off parental controls and delete parental control settings.
This last action is the most important part as I already guessed ti was the parental controls stopping the Chromecast from accessing the internet, but turning off the parental controls didn't work alone!
although this doesn't help with keeping your children safe, there are other means to control what they access on the internet and until BT sort out this problem I won't be using their parental controls.
    I hope this helps
My kids are happy now they can watch Netflix and Play films.

  • 42SL417U Youtube app stopped working

Greetings, A few days ago, the Youtube app stopped working. The logo comes up, but the progress bar that normally shows loading progress never starts. I have tried unplugging the TV for several hours, but that's about it. Are there any other steps I should take? Netflix appears to work fine. Thanks.

Same exact thing happened to my TV (same model as yours) at the same time it happened to you. And YouTube still does not work. I was hoping it was an issue with YouTube that they would fix, but it's been three weeks and nothing has changed, nor can I find any answer as to why this happened. It's a real bummer, because I used the YouTube app on the TV all the time.

  • IE 11 Stops working at sign-ins

A friend has a Windows 7 laptop that has IE 11 installed. Windows Update installed Bing Desktop and ever since then, the browser "has stopped working." This ONLY happens on sites with input forms, such as sign-in pages. They cannot log-in to anything,
examples being ebay and Netflix. Online e-mail works, but only because login info is saved and not required at each visit. Other sites, which do not require input, work fine.
The Bing Desktop program has been uninstalled, IE has been fully reset and the problem hasn't been resolved. I suggested installing Chrome, but the owner doesn't want to make any such changes.
I've been googling this problem, but haven't found any exact matches. I'm thinking there's a corrupted file or registry entry, but I haven't had the time to track it down. Would an uninstall/reinstall of IE11 fix this, or is there a hotfix I can download,
    take over there and run?

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay, even you have reset IE, some setting are stil maintailed in IE, I tried to reset my IE, and found that some add-ons are still enabled in it, thus I suggest you have a try for a test.
    Reset Internet Explorer settings
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/reset-internet-explorer-settings
And any information in event viewer to narrow down the cause of the issue?
You can also use this tool to capture the detailed process when you open a "sign-in" site
