New ArchLinux background

Kudos to the designer of the new background.
It signifies the nuclear generation of arch linux from small beginnings, ever growing, even beyond the confines of the desktop display, with input from others in its growth. Inclusion of the pov-ray image is indicative of the recognition of support from users and is a fine background image of its own.
Appreciate the new menu item for arch linux as well!

What is the correct method of removing a green screen background to insert a new digital background?

I am using Photoshop Elements 10 and can't seem to remove the green screen correctly. When I select the "magic wand" and click on the green screen background it selects it as it should. But when I hit the delete button on my keyboard it deletes the green background but a white background remains. So when I go to select my image to drag it to my digital background the white background goes with it.
In the tutorial video I watched it shows a grey and white checkered background after deleting the green screen which allows the user to select and move only the image to the new digital background. I am following the steps exactly but still can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas?

I don't know about 10 but in In PSE 8 there is a "Magic Extractor" ( ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+V) (on the mainu it's under Image ) which makes waaay too easy to seperate a selection from the background

As already mentioned, the trick with the "background layer" is to right click on it in Layers and use "Layer from background"This will turn it into a "regular layer".
Then add a another new layer and on this new layer paste your cut-out you created earlier using the magic extractor.

Has there been any change in FF21 and newer regarding background music file playing?

Access this URL : http://www.mamarocks.com/cats.htm in FF20 lets the background music associated with it play. However, accessing the same URL in FF21 and newer results with the webpage being displayed but the music associated with it does not play. Microsoft Windows Media Player plugin is installed but is not selectable from the file type play selection. The Quicktime Player plugin is also installed. Selecting that or Windows Media Player to handle midi files has no effect on the behavior. I don't believe the plugins are at fault but rather something in how Firefox handles background file use that has changed.
I have done searches on the Internet and found numerous reports of this problem. Please look for yourself and decide if there is a problem or at least tell us how to fix this situation.

That is a midi file (Content-Type: audio/mid), so you need a plugin that can handle this MIME type (see the about:plugins page).

Proposal for a new archlinux logo

I know that there are currently no plans to change the logo of archlinux and I believe its very unlikely that this could be the new one, but anyway I thought sharing would be a good idea...what do you think?

Can't open a new white background

Whenever I try to open a new file in Photoshop it comes up as a crazy noise background. I recently updated to the new CC and my computer doesn't seem to run as fast. Is there any pointers to the problems?

Go to Settings>Safari>Cookies and Data.
Now close Safari. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to Safari and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Now reboot the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

GPO not working for new Users (Background)

Terminal Server 2012 in a hosted environment
I've set the below policy to set a default background wich can be changed by the users after this.
The target is an networkdrive. (The Reason behind this is that we have multiple resellers that all have the same networkdrive but pointing to a different store) Lets just say for this example that is P:/Background/ResellerBackground.jpg
The policy is Linked to the Resellers OU.
This works perfectly for all the existing users.
For new users this is not working at all. It does run the policy but it create the profile after running the policies.
So the above setting gets overruled by the default windows server 2012 background. The RunOnce atribute is set now, so it will not load it again.
I have read a lot of different sollutions so far, but none are working in this environment. (From changing the default Hive to changing the default picture etc)
One sollution came close, but not working perfectly either, this is removing the RunOnce atribute from the register, and letting the new users log in again. You do not wanna let new users login twice.
Before Windows 7/8/2012, in XP it just copied the default user and then the policies ran. So here the problem does not exist. Now it makes the profile after running the policies.
Anyone having an idea to resolve this issue?

If we choose this solution, we can try running cmd command
gpupdate/force to see whether it can work.
Another workaround is we can do it from scratch. We can create a new GPO to deploy wallpaper for these new users. The steps are the same as previous ones, just using
Security Filtering to apply this new GPO to new users, and unlinking and deleting the GPO after the policy getting updated.

COMMUNICATION_FAILURE in CALL FUNCTION STARTING NEW TASK/Background task

Hi friends,
I am trying to use a FM in a Print Program (when user prints a document), using
CALL FUNCTION STARTING NEW TASK 'TASK' DESTINATION 'NONE'.
The program is triggered from VL02N tcode.
But it's giving an exception - COMMUNICATION_FAILURE. Message is Error when opening an RFC connection
I also tried
CALL FUNCTION IN BACKGROUND TASK as Separate Unit
then error message pops up - Database error when recording transactional RFC
We are attaching a PDF file of the print to content server within this function module and because the "attaching" takes a while, this part needs to be detached from the print program so that we can avoid performance issue.
I can't figure out the issue. i gues this is happening because print program is already running in Update task. I also tried with RFC enabled FM. Please help me resolve/understand the issue.

I guess the reason for the above is that every RFC call synchronous/Asynchronous issues a DB COMMIT and we cannot have DB COMMITs in the V1/V2 updates, please go through the link below.

Now, the possible solutions i can think of are,
1) Call the FM in update task delayed start and try.
2) Or create a report program and use SUBMIT (look at the job options as well).

CS6 new file background issue

Hi, i have encountered a stange issue on PS CS6,
when i open a new file with a white background, i see the new file with only part of it with white background and the rest as it is transparent, but once i start to work on the file other parts gets the white background as well,
anyone knows what is causing this and how to sort this?

New panelbox background

Hi, I'm developing a webapp using ADF faces components, and I've defined a css stylesheet, customizing the 4 types of panelbox backgrounds, to fit my design. Now I need a new panelbox, with a different background but I've found myself limited to the predefined backgrounds for the component. Is there any way to add a new background to the panelbox (light, dark, medium, transparent, custom)? The idea is to be able to define new icons to the borders too...

This is great, but I think you should host the image on other place, it's kind of slow. I also think "Archlinux" is a bit of redundant.

Just finished rebuilding my mirror, and as there is a lack of mirrors here in norway, id like to share mine with you all. Its a fast connection (100Mbit), though it will be moved to a 2gbit pipe this fall.

Unable start KDE in a new ArchLinux Installation

This is my first install. I am trying ArchLinux on a virtualbox. I followed the newbie installation guide and installed KDE. When I try to start KDE using kdm or startx (.xinitrc) , I am getting the following error. Any help is appreciated.

No GRUB menu when booting from USB stick with new archlinux

Hi,
I want to try archlinux but I do not have a full backup of my current system right now, such that I do not dare to install archlinux on it. I decided to install it on a USB drive and followed the Beginners Guide considering the hints for installations on USB sticks.
The first issue that I had was that I was not able to to install gurb and it complained that no boot partition was available. I started from scratch again but this time choose the partition type EF02 (bios boot partition) instead of the default 0700 (I only have one partition on the stick). This time everything went fine until I rebooted from the USB stick. Instead of a grub menu I got:
GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB
and nothing happened.
I booted again from the boot cd with archlinux and did the following to examine the grub installation again:
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt
arch-chroot /mnt /bin/bash
grub-install --recheck --boot-directory=/boot /dev/sdb

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
>Generating grub.cfg

Welcome to Arch!
EF02 is definitely not the type code you want. That is used for a small partition with no file system which grub needs on GPT disks because it cannot fit into the space on disk. You don't install anything into it and it is 1-2MB.
