New battery... same problem

Everytime I took my Mini off the house charger even after it shows fully charged, the battery icon would go all white and then it would freeze after about 10 min of play then show dead battery. I ordered a replacement battery, changed it out and charged it up. Same problem. I can get it to play all day long as long as it it plugged into something. Computer or house charger. Sync's fine too.. have reset, reloaded and updated it to 1.4.1
Once disconnected... dead with the battery icon and the !..
any thoughts..

I have the same problem except mine just dies once its off the charger. Apple says its hard drive failure which I think is bs. I replaced the battery too and it made no difference. Mine won't sync unless I plug it into my speaker set with a seperate power and dock connector. I use it in my car with the charger and it works out good but I'd be nice to have a battery.

I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs using the new computer, there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out" during play back, similar to a small scratch on a vinyl record.  Although when I play the same song over again, the "miss" occurs in a different location during the song.  No probs with old computer, just the new one.  I'm onto my third new computer - same problem.  Any suggestions please?

You don't say which version of iTunes you are using, but the symptoms you describe have been encountered by some users with the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.
There is an alternative version for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version of 12.1.0.77 - including problems with Bluetooth speakers where either sound is degraded or completely absent.  The alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer.  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).  It may also be necessary to ensure that your Bluetooth speakers are active and selected as the default audio device before you run iTunes.
If this doesn't address the issue, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • Battery says "X" - 3rd battery, same problem...

I bought my MacBook in Oct. 2007 and my one year warranty was literally up about a week ago.
Back in August, I noticed that an X appeared over the battery icon. I reset the battery and looked up all my options online but nothing could solve the problem. I was eventually sent a new battery from Apple.
A month later the issue came up again (end of Sept. 08) I noticed the same thing. I again tried all the home remedies, but nothing helped. I called Apple last Wednesday and even though I was about a week out of warranty, they sent a new battery (since the issue occurred while still covered). I received the new battery this past Friday (Oct. 24) and things were good. Literally 2 days later (today, Oct. 26) the X is back.
Is this a bigger issue than the battery? Should I bother calling Apple back or should I bring the computer into a Mac Genius? I do not have Apple Care, but again, this issue occurred during my first year of ownership. Will the Mac Geniuses have record of my calls to the Apple 1800 number?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

And will they honor the fact that the problem started under warranty but is now out of warranty?
I plan on purchasing Apple Care down the line, but I'm trying to save up some cash for it.
To be honest, my last laptop was a PowerBook that lasted about 5 years, without Apple Care but it seems like my MacBook will eventually need it.

  • Tc1100 new battery 4000mAh problem

    Hi
I have two compaq TC1100 computers and a new 4000 mAh battery but, I can not power on any of the computers with the new battery switch.
The battery is fully charged but when I unplug the power cord and try to turn the computers with the new battery, neither does power on.
The battery is a replacement for models compatible with computers and I have dealt with two new 4000 mAh batteries from the same provider.
There is a problem to use a 4000 mAh battery with TC1100 compaq computers?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Just want to add something here. As I mentioned, last night I permitted the machine to issue an "imminent shutdown" warning before I let it shut down off battery power. But notice that in the system info, it does not acknowledge issuing a "Low Level Warning" - that's wrong.
I've also done a reset of the SMU in the last few minutes - where you shut down, remove the battery and then hold down the power button for 5 seconds... I'm heading out for an hour or so now... we'll see how things look when I return...

  • When I make an outgoing call the recipient cannot hear me very well as though the volume was turned down very low. However when I activate the speakerphone the recipient can hear me loud and clear. I transferred my SIM Card into a new device Same problem

When I make an outgoing call the recipient cannot hear me very well as though the volume was turned down very low. However when I activate the speakerphone the recipient can hear me loud and clear. I transferred my SIM Card into a new device only to be subjected to the exact same problem. I have reset the phone clearing all the data and updated to the most recent software version available from itunes; and still no improvements. The results of my switching to a new phone would indicate a software issue.
Does anyone out there have this problem and how can it be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Teresa

Try removing the screen protector that is covering the microphone.
Scratch that; wrong answer. I thought you meant you had trouble hearing.

  • Old shuffle did not sync with iTunes 7 so bought new Nano same problem!

Don't waste your time buying new iPod,I just did but the same problems occurring.Itunes 7 won't recognise new Nano I have to right click my computer and re-start iPod service every time to get iPod to appear (yes I do read online help Iv'e even reinstalled windows to no effect, no software clash as iTunes was only software installed). New Nano comes with iPod ver 1.01 but as soon as I get iTunes, to recognize new Nano it tells me to ugrade to ver 1.02,I click to upgrade and iTunes 7 hangs!I can't update and iTunes will not recognize Nano (windows sees it as drive e)so it's real messy loading songs and iTunes 7 hangs on song loadup too!
Look I have a Dell Pentium 4 3.0g processor and 2g memory and 120 g hard drive, so APPLE WHAT THE F?*K IS GOING ON? Yes I read that it's all the users fault yes it is I NEVER SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED APPLE,I SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL UPDATE WAS PROVEN! Gee I can run softimage and games like FEAR but iTunes 7 is the worst piece of software I have ever seen!

Sorry Mitch it didn't work. I can get Nano recognized by right clicking my computer then/manage/services/iPod...by stopping and restarting, then opening itunes Hooray i can at last load songs. BUT THE DIALOG BOX WANTS ME TO UPDATE TO 1.02 BUT IF I START THE UPDATE iTUNES GOES INTO HANG. SIMILARLY IF I CLICK RESTORE IT ALSO GOES INTO HANG!
Folks don't bother updating your hardware until Apple fixes the very broken iTunes.I'm putting it all into the hands of lawyers on Monday!

  • New battery, but problem unsolved!

I'm befuddled by this. I have a G4 titanium powerbook, bought in June of 2003. Out of ignorance, I rarely refreshed the battery for the first year, and left it running on AC. Live and learn. At any rate, lately the battery would suddenly quit at about 85%. Then, when recharging, it would jump from about 15% to 100%. I tested it with iBatt, and it said this:
    Capacity 3.962 Ah
    Voltage 16.498 v
    Grade B+
Strange. I tried resetting the PMU, to no avail. I finally figured the battery had served me long enough (2.5 years) and took it into the Apple Store and had the battery replaced. But the new battery did virtually the same thing! When I put it into the powerbook, it was at 75%. It went to about 58%, then quit. I tested this new batter with iBatt, and got virtually the same results:
    Capacity 4.149 Ah
    Voltage 15.928 v
    Grade: B+
Can anyone out there enlighten me?
    Michael

  • TS1702 I was notified that I had two aps that needed update.  I tried to update the two and they froze for over a week in the downloading phase!  So I removed both and tried to download as e aps...new.  Same problem.  They froze in the installing phase.

I was notified that I needed to update two of my current apps.  I tried to do so and they both froze in the install-update phase.  So I discontinued them and tried to download as new.  they froze again During the install phase.  So to test the apps in general I tried to install a completely new app.  It also froze in the installing phase also!  Please help me.  Thanks.

Once one app stalls in the downloading phase, every other app behind it will probably stall as well. Do not try to downloads any other apps until you get this resolved.
If the Apps are showing the "waiting" icons, try some of theses suggestions and see if one of them will get you out of this predicament.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Disk Utility doesn't recognize HD.  Installed new one, same problem.

    Hello,
I have a MBP. It suddenly wouldn't boot up, and had the flashing question mark folder upon starting up, so I figured that the HD needed to be replaced. I ordered a brand new drive, and when I try to install Leopard, it doesn't see the new hard drive. I open Disk Utility to partition the drive to GUID, but Disk Utility doesn't even see the new drive. Just my optical drive is listed.
I hooked up the old hard drive externally to another mac, and it appears to be working just fine. So it isn't a bad drive as I had originally thought.
What else could be wrong? The laptop fails to see any internal hard drives. Is there anything else that I can do to fix this problem? Thanks.

Purely conjecture, your serial ATA controller may be bad (or the cable). I assume nothing shows in System Profiler/Hardware/Serial-ATA either. Maybe try the SMC reset?
-If the computer is on, turn it off.
-Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
-Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
-Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
-Press the Power button to restart the computer.

  • Sky F1 button freezing - New season same problem

Hello All I have been coming here every year since Sky picked up F1 and have problems every year with the red button freezing the box when I try to use it on F1 during race day etc. Normally it usually happens towards the end of the season especially when they are in USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi - it ALWAYS works perfectly fine on practices and qualifiying, but the problems always occurs on race day. Every year the community staff say they have never heard of this problem before.....sigh. You will find many threads on this each year with promises that Sky will fix it and the season ends with us being promised it will be fixed for the new season. Last year I was advised by one regular contributor that Graeme personally was ensuring it would be fixed for this season and to have faith.....sigh....yet  I am back here again. What is very frustrating, its now started at Australia - I have never had this issue before at this early a stage. The red button has worked completely fine all weekend on the practices and qualifying until it came to the race. I press the red button and  it sits on blue screen for a while, then eventually gets to the black screen with Sky Sports F1 logo and a white outlined box in top left hand corner..........and that is it. If I press 1 I get to the main screen but subsequent pressings of red button or back up button does not take you to the red button menu, but ends up giving you the blue screen. If you try to back out of the whole red button thing, you get continued blue screen but if you are very lucky you may still get sound. Sometimes you can get a picture back by going to the Sky EPG and selecting a different channel that brings back the picture, then return to 407, or it will freeze altogether and you spend the next 20 mins having to do the usual plug out, plug in, wait 2 mins, start box up. I have done a Sky rebuild only as I dont want to spend the whole race messing around with software updates etc and that took 20 mins with no improvement whatsover. I also have cleared out any programmes in my Deleted programme section but I do that everyday anyway.. Through the years of threads, some are saying the software on my box cant handle the sky red button, but this is the box you gave me when I signed up for the HD & sky f1. If this is so, why are you providing hardware that is not fit for purpose? And now you seem to have got rid of Race control on the website I cannot see it online either, even though it it did used to be about half a minute between what was going on live. I got so excited when there was a software update a few weeks ago as I thought Sky were really keeping to their word and eventually fixing their F1 red button.....never mind...... So, for your records: Model: R010.070.58.17PVersion 4f3107

Mmmm I signed up for F1 through the HD pack. After reading other stories on this site as to how people have lost their F1 through Sky offers with little to no smallprint advising of the potential loss, then alleged underhand tactics by the phone customer service team, I did wonder whether the zero acknowledgement to this issue was the latest way to try and enforce a move over to the Sports package. For me that would be pointless as there is no way I can afford the Sports package - also I have absolutely no interest in football, cricket nor golf - I just love my F1. But, to be fair and to counter that, I have had this issue since F1 commenced with Sky in 2012 - a straight 4 years of issues that I had phoned, emailed and raised threads on this forum about. The Sky team previously stated any problem was just down to me and wanted me to fork out for an engineer. I refused this, as the engineer would never find anything unless they were willing to visit during the Sunday race in USA, Brazil or Abu Dhabi........and now Australia. Since this thread has commenced, in addition to rscott (Super user) providing input and confirming same issues, Annie (Sky Mod) has also acknowledged Sky are aware and working on the issues, through private email. I am so grateful to them both for providing a link and updates between the customer and the technicians. Now we have this first real acknowledgement of the problem, I am praying that they will seriously work on getting it fixed, because I would be hugely disappointed if after 4 years and the many threads that both myself, Pete and others have opened and had subsequently locked and quickly archived, they are still unable to resolve it. By the way I had the same issues as Pete that as I became frustrated at the lack of assistance in previous years,  that as well as the thread being locked, I found I couldnt access the community even though I could access other areas of my Sky account.I would be on a complete loop returning to the log in page and sometimes would even see the page saying it was diverting elsewhere and making out as if the Community site was down. Yet 2 minutes later under a new username with a new email address and sometimes using private browsing mode, I could log in easily, so I would question whether some people were "banned" from the site. Anyway, now there is this some progress,....onwards and upwards I say.......and lots of crossed fingers. :-)

  • Photoshop elements 13 - print area cannot be opened - appcrash.New installation - same problem. What can I do?

    Hi,
I wanted to print a picture in Photoshop Elements 13, which was installed yesterday.
But when I push the print button the message appears: Ph. Elements 13 does not work any more. Search for solution ...
    Details: Appcrash. PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
I was searching for online solution: program closed.
    Does anyone have an idea?
Shall I go back to version 12?
    Thank you in advance.

I wanted the bullets on the slide to appear one line at a time that's why I chose to create the slides in PPT. As far as I know this feature doesn't exist in Captivate.
What I found ended up fixing the problem is  creating a brand new ppt slide, with a brand new text box and typing in the list. The copy/paste appears to be one of the bugs that causes the cut off text. I created a new captivate project importing the PPT slides and when i confirmed it worked in preview, I copied the slide (in captivate) and brought it into my original project.
That's a lot of rework but now I know what to avoid.
    Thank you for the link.

  • New build, same problems

Having moved into a new build in the Newport area ~4 weeks ago, and ordering our package with BT a week prior to that we are still awaiting an engineer visit to flick a switch. The 'engineer' was booked to turn up on the 8th so i took the day off to enable the visit. low and behold no one showed up and we had to chase BT to find out what had happened. Numerous phone calls have got us no where to date and it appears that Openreach are refusing to investigate. The service received so far from all parties has frankly been appalling and I cannot think of an example in the recent past which has left me feeling so frustrated and helpless. What can BT do about this and what is a 'normal' install time from placing the order? Surely this can't be expected.

I suggest you contact the forum mods they should be able to get this problem sorted for you this is a link to them http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951

  • New battery, same short life

After fooling with ever shorter periods when the battery of my 6th Gen Nano would hold a charge—often dropping 90% overnight—I sent it to DigiExpress whose technician replaced the battery. Although the battery life if is better, it still loses 25% of the charge overnight. I have done everything suggested in the tips for prolonging battery life.
Would doing a RESTORE help? I understand it will erase everything on the Nano, but can I then sync it to the Library to get it all back?

Here are Apple's tips to lengthen your iPhone's battery life.
