New Creation of UOM
Dear All
I was Creating New Unit of Measure in SAP,When i am going to maintain in Materail master ,I got a below error.While i was checking in T006A ,UOM is already in Lang. English.
Unit MIU is not created in language EN
Please help to sort out this Problem

Unable to make any new creation.
Hi All,
I m unable to make any new creation in ecc6.0 whether its on se38 or se80. I can create tables on se11 and can access all other tcode. I even can't display any of the program or fm etc.. though i can delete the created program.
When i make request to change or create a old or new program, the request keeps on runnung. In SM59 i checked for dumps it displays CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR with short text "password logon no longer possible_ too many failed attempts".

This is may be issue in RFC user. Check configuration from SM59. Here you will get the RFC user name. If this is not user specific, then you can check if the same problem coming other user. If yes then RFC user's password need to be reset and you need to config the same through sm59.

News creation error in Km Repository
hi,
There is a Km repository in portal Km content.
When I tried to create a news in its sub folders using the sap demo news template it gives an error 'creation error'.But I am able to create news with the same template in other folders in root.Please help me to solve this issue.

Create your contents under /root/documents. Contents created using XML forms builder can be saved only under /root/documents and not /root itself.
To access the repository, use Explorer menu under Content Management role. I believe that you are accessing it using KM Content menu under Content Admin role.

KM News creation for different layouts using xml form builder
Dear All,
We have a scenario where we need to create a xml template to generate KM News. The same KM News template should have three different show forms (with different design layouts).
At Edit form there will be 3 option buttons based selection of these option button respective Show form should be displayed.
Ex:
If the user selects "Option 1" it should show "ShowForm 1"
If the user selects "Option 2" it should show "ShowForm 2"
If the user selects "Option 3" it should show "ShowForm 3"
Any help will be appreciated and rewarded points.

How to restrict the news creations for members of the collaboration room
Hi all,
I have created a Project Room in collaboration and assigned members to that
room.I need to restrict the room members from creating the news and folders.
And also only Owner/Admin of the room should be able created the news and
folders and members should be able view the news and folder
One more query,i need to remove the room parts which are by default selected
for that room when select the default templates.
Can anyone please give me the solution on the above queries.
It will be very much helpful for me to create collaboration rooms with the
restricted permissions.

Here I am explaining what is my requirement.
I have created collaboration room and added room admin and members to the
room.
Then in the room maintaince -> I have added the room parts as
News(private) and the role I have assigned to member.
When login into portal with the member login and go to the news in the
collaboration room, member is getting the permissions to add/create news.
At this point I want to restrict the members of the collaboration room to view
the news and only admin of the room should be able to post the news.
how to go ahead for the above senario.

Company Code Creation (Either Copy or New Creation)

We are on a Implementation Project got a problem in MM at the Time of GR/IR and our MM consultant said that one of the Standard Table is missing.
We created the Company code instead copying it from 001.
Would like to have input on the following
1.As SAP suggest company code should be copied If some body does not do that what are the area of concern.
2. If company code is not copied but Created what kind of problem can come during implementation.
3. How one correct the problem which are going to arise.

Material Control Record Table viz. MARV is to be maintained for Allowing company codes in MM.
So, in T. Code OMSY, Your company code needs to be added along with the period.
Check this to find whether your problem is solved.

Impact of new order type Creation.
Greetings all SD experts,
Currently, there's a new request in my company to create a new Sales Order Type via VOV8. Correct me if I'm wrong here but by creating a new order type, we need to also look into the item category assignment as well as the schedule line and the sales area permitted for the new order type.
Aside from that, I believe I need to look into the SIS aspect as well the subsequent delivery and billing type ( whether using back the existing types or there's a need for a new creation ).
My queries are as following :
1 ) What will be the impact for a creation of new sales order type besides those mentioned above?
2 ) And are there any impact in other modules that I should take note of ?
3 ) What are the subsequents config/settings that I need to look upon creating a new sales order type ?
4 ) What will be things that I need to take note of if there's a need to create new delivery and billing type ?

To add / create a new Sales Doc type, u need to do the following config. Also if you are in Support project and you want add this it is always advisible to take reference data from the customer.
Config required is:
Assign Sales Document to Sales Area
Item category determination
Assign Document Pricing procedure
Determine pricing procedure
Assign Output Types
Assign Incompletion Log
Assign Partner determination procedure
Maintain copy control Sales docs to Sales Docs & Sales Docs to Billing
Maintain copy control Sales docs to Delivery
Free Goods / Material Listing
Update Groups for LIS
Scheduling With Route Schedule For Sales Document Type
all these above assignments need to be done.
4. You dnt need to create a new delivery and billing type, u can use the existing ones only

How to: thumbnails for old events in new iMovie
If you have your library of iMovie events disconnected from your iMovie for any reason (e.g. new Mac, moved to different drive or you erase your drive when you upgrade) then the events must be reconnected.
The media/content can reside on any disk, as long as
They are in a folder named "iMove Events"
This folder is in the root of the drive, be it the main operating system drive or a connected drive
This took me 5 or 6 hours to figure out. Perhaps it should be easier, dear Apple?
Anyway, so good so far.
I now move my iMove Events folder to this location.
And iMovie starts to recreate the thumbnails.
It is about 600GB of movies.
So, after 1 hour of generating thumbnails; the dialouge box will not even give me the "Time remaining".
Question: Where are these thumbnails stored and how do I reconnect them to my iMovie version 9.0.4. which I think is iMove 11
More background:
I imported all these from HI-8 using ADVC110. It all worked fine previously on iMove version 8.0.4 whice is iMove 09
All imported to a separate usb disk. When I buy a second hand MacMini I then moved it to a sub folder on a FireWire disk.
The new computer, MacMini with OS 10.6.8, CORE 2 DUO, 2gHz and 2Gb memory, and 150GB disk
Today I have moved the sub folder to the root of the Iomega FireWire disk.
Problem is, a family event is in need of a new creation this week end, and after a whole day off work do to this I am still only generating thumb nails
Any help skipping the Thumbail generation is appreciated

Change UOM in PR but PO exist for PR
Hi Experts,
We created a PR with a customized account assignment cat. and material text (no material code) with UOM L , we created PO in UOM L but purchasers cant do GRN because they received material in UOM LG ( which they mentioned in PO/PR Texts area). Now, the issue is with changing the UOM from L to LG in PR/PO. I could though of only option to delete PO and PR line item and create a new but that we can't do because the same PO number is been shared between concerned parties/departments/contractors.
Please tell me what are the other ways to change UOM. (as I am not using material code so additional data field doesnt come in picture)

Even if I delete PO line item and create a new one then UOM should come from PR itself but after PO deletion also PR UOM is in display mode. Is there any program required to run to make it editable?
I found one info. in PO about 'Order price unit' which says:
Order Price Unit (Purchasing)
Indicates the unit of measurement to which the purchase order price relates.
Example
A material or commodity (for example, oil) can be ordered by the liter, but the vendor's invoice shows a price of 2 dollars per kilogram.
You enter 10 l as the order quantity and order unit, but specify 2 dollars per kg as purchase order price and purchase order price unit.
In addition, you enter the conversion factor "order unit -> purchase order price unit" (for example 2 l per 1 kg) in the "details" data of the purchase order item.
In GRN it says:
Definition: purchase order price unit
Purchasing (MM-PUR)
An alternative unit of measure that can be used for ordering purposes.
The purchase order price unit enables you to express the purchase order price in a unit that differs from the order unit.
Example
Ordered: 100 m2; Price: $24.20 for 10 kg.
The order unit is m2. The purchase order price unit is kg.

I was just wondering if I could use this method to change/show a change in UOM. But if no relation exists then... it wont work I think.

Can I script the changing of creation date, using the file name?
Normally people are doing this in reverse, but let me paint the picture.
I pulled 204 video files from an old HDD based JVC camera. JVC records in .MOD format which iPhoto won't import. I imported them into iMovie just fine, and iMovie even set the file name to clip-2007-11-04 04;42;29.mov which is great, but it now has a new creation date of whatever date I imported it. Which then causes problem when I want the videos stored in iPhoto and sorted appropriately by creation date.
I've used the application "A Better Finder Attributes 5" to individually edit the creation and modify, but I'm sure I don't want to do this 203 more times, as you can't just type in the date and time, you have to type in each part of the date/time, or select it on a calendar.
I've used the application "Name Changer" to batch convert the file names to the format YYYYMMDDhhmm which would be helpful if I were going to use the terminal command touch -t, but again I don't want to have to type it in 203 more times, plus drag and drop the file into finder to populate the location.
Now, if I were more handy with automator, or maybe some (any) scripting language this would be easy peasy. I'd batch rename all the files to the YYYYMMDDhhmm.mov and then have a script that just took the file name, passed that to touch -t along with the file location, and a few seconds later, they would all be done!
Anybody have any suggestions to how I can do this, and tips to what commands to use or ANY advice? I'm more than happy to RTFM, but I have no idea which manual to read!

Missing LO changes and creations since one month

We have some issues with our LO data source and now the issue has been resolved. We need to delete the requests since one month
and reload. We have the following date selections available in the info pakcage Createdon and changed on. Can we load all the
changes and new creation during that time with this selctions without getting duplicates ?

created on is static and will never change...so a record created in 01.01.1900 will not come in your selection based on created on but it is still present in the cube.
now if the same record got changed in the last one month..i.e. the time when the delta was not working...if you give the changed on selection then it will bring the same record again...and may be if your load goes for two days then for the third time as well if it gets changed on last loading day...
some thing like you loaded for the selection
first you loaded created on 01.01.1900-31.09.2008
then changed on 01.10.2008- 02.12.2008
Now there is one record which as created on date as 01.01.1900...and changed on date as 02.10.2008...and if the old record is not deleted from the cube then it will get doubled. after load based on changed on
also if the load keep on running for two days and is the same record got changed on 03.12.2008 then it will come thrice.
So in any case you will have to delete the history from the cube to load the data correctly.

Creating Properties for News.
Hi All,
I have created a News iView using XML Form Builder.
I have also created a Property in the Property Metadata with multiple values.I am using this property to populate a combo box on my News authoring iView.
The Problem is that when i set the Folder Path for the Property that i have created to anything other than "/*" or "/documents/*" , the values which are contained in the Property do not get populated in the combo box.
If i set the Folder Path of the Property to "/*" or "/documents/*" then i get to see the Property values in the combo box.
I want to know how i could get the values in my Property ,that i have created,populate my combo box on my news creation Form when i set the Folder path of the Property to ,for eg. "/documents/s1/s2/s3".

When you create a metadata you must define among other things:
1. Group: you group similar metadatas, and then in your form builder project (left of your screen) appear this group. In this way you can drag and drop over your object.
2. Folder Validity Patterns
If you have already made an entry in the parameter Document Validity Patterns but do not want to use a Folder Validity Pattern, remove the default entry / from the input field.
Notation:
