Trying to create a web form. For ordering product. how do I assign a value to a product and total?

Code works on new form not on older form

Hi
I am trying to change an existing form (add some code). I tested the code in a new form I create on my computer but when I do the same on a form supplied and created on a different computer the code won't work
What I see is that the form properties of a new form on my computer give Version 9.xxx and on the form that was created on the other computer the Version is listed as 8.xx
Anyone know how I can convert the Version 8.xx file to a Version 9.xx?
Or someone know how to set a EnclosedOption group from optional to required in Version 8? In version 9 I use Gender.validate.nullTest="error" or Gender.validate.nullTest="disabled" but this doesn't work on the old Version 8.xx PDF File.
Help greatly appreciated!

Two more questions if i may.
In the Dynamic version that you sent me we ended up with the entire ExclusionGroup with a large red box around it where in the static each option used to have the Red instead. And it seems to be a very thick red box.
1) Is there anyway to control the width of the Red Box?
2)I switched the version that you sent me back to "Static" and then in the verification options added "color fields" and this gives us the functionality that we originally wanted.
The challenge with this solution is that the "page # of ##" on the master page doesn't render.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

CopyListItem - creating a button in the ribbon and opening the new form with selecting item id data.

Hi,
            In Sharepoint 2013 online without visual studio, I need to create a copy button in the ribbon and by selecting a listitem and clicking the copy button. A new form has to be displayed with
the selected listitem data. Please help me in doing this scenario.
Scenario:
             Since Customer does not want to enter all the data once again. The customer will select a listitem and click the copy custom button in the ribbon, the data should be loaded in
a new form. The customer will do little modification and will click the submit button to save as a new list item.  Please help me in doing this scenario

Apex 3.0 Q: "Optional Label with Help" default when creating new form?

When I create a new application, usually one of the first things I do is set the default item label to "Optional", so I don't have the annoying popup help link.
Now, when you create a new Form region, based on a table, for all the items the label is set to "Optional label with help". Am I right in hoping this is something that was overlooked when developing Apex, and that it will be fixed in version 3.0, so that it sets the items to the default label as set in the Shared Components?
And is there a way to change the labels for a lot of items at the same time, other than changing the theme templates?

AFAIK, label help in default manner is based on column coments of a table.
Later there is now way to easy reedit these values but manually...

Auto Fill Shipping Address from Billing Address on a New Form in SharePoint 2013

I have a new form on SharePoint that has a few fields:
Billing Address 1 (Single Line of Text)
Billing Address 2 (Single Line of Text)
Billing Address City (Single Line of Text)
Billing Address State (Drop Down Menu)
Billing Address Zip (Single Line of Text)
Shipping Address is the Same (Yes/No Check Box)
Shipping Address 1 (Single Line of Text)
Shipping Address 2 (Single Line of Text)
Shipping Address City (Single Line of Text)
Shipping Address State (Drop Down Menu)
Shipping Address Zip (Single Line of Text)
The object is that a user would fill in the Billing Address Fields, then click the "Shipping Address is the Same" check box and the Shipping Address Fields would auto fill with the Billing Address Fields.
I've tried using a CEWP and editing the form file in SharePoint Designer 2013. I just don't know how to make this Dynamic auto fill work! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Use a custom web part
Design the form controls and in "Shipping Address is the Same" check box check event or button click,
copy the same data into a label form contains the same fields but in form of labels instead of textbox and dropdownlist.

Still the same issue, yes.
I have already logged an SR for this, but all is very quiet on that front.
One funny, is that this HOME was never attached to the orainst.loc, so I did it manually.
When I try and run opatch with lsinventory parm, it does not list any patches, although there are patches installed, if you look at $OH/.patch_storage.
Any idea of how I should attach this home correctly?

i am getting "could not save list changes to the server" while creating a new form in SharePoint Designer.
Actually the list was created with a custom content type. When i try to create a new form from the custom content type, it fails.
However, when i try to create a form using item content type, it creates a form successfully.
Could you please let me know hte workaroud for this.

xsl:if test="ddwrt:IfHasRights(16)" no longer working in a New form

Hello all -
We have a list with some fields hidden for normal users, but approvers have edit access to these fields. The list has been working fine with the new,edit, and view forms all working as expected for over a year. BTW, this is on a Sharepoint Online site.
Somehow, over this last weekend, although no changes were made to any of the forms, the New item form no longer works, but rather comes up with an "unable to display this web part" error.
So, in doing some troubleshooting, I created a new form for the list and confirmed that the new default form works fine. I then added in just the code for hiding a field and immediately the form came up with the "unable to display this web part"
error.
Is this functionality no longer supported?
btw, here's the code I tested in the new form:

I have reproduced when I use this function for a field of a list from SharePoint online site, however it couldn't be reproduced from SharePoint on-premise.
Not sure if SharePoint online update causing this, since we cannot check the ULS log according to the Correlation ID, I would recommend you post this issue in Office365 SharePoint Online forum via the following link, you can get a better assistance
regarding SharePoint Online issue and there may be possible to involve the back-end support engineer to look into the issue.

2010 Review Approval Workflow Error - Outlook cannot open a new form

Hi,
I set up an Approval - SharePoint workflow on a document library list in a webpart. When the approver got the email and tried to approve from outlook, she received the following error. She has approved documets in the past for the same page.
Can anyome please help me troubleshoot this? So much appreciated!
Word Error:
Could not open. http://<site ulr> _layouts/formsResource.aspx?templateFile=http://<site url_catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 2010/Review Approval_Task_1033.xsn
Outlook Error:
Outlook cannot open a new form. To open the file, access to the folliwng form template is required

can she open the approval form in web browser instead of Outlook?
According to the error message, it seems that the user does not have permission for the file http://<site url/_catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 201o/Review Approval_Task_1033.xsn.
can she open see this file in SharePoint designer 2010? that is, open the site with SharePoint designer and navigate to All Files->_catalogs->wfpub->Approval - SharePoint 201o. If she can not see the file there, ask the workflow creator to publish
the workflow again. I had experienced strange issue in SharePoint designer 2007 and solved by check out all the workflow files and check in again

Creation of new forms

Hi,
Is it possible to create new forms(where user will input some data and then using business logic some workflows will occur) in oracle ucm using hcsp,hcst.Or is there any other way.

HCSF could be used to have forms. Whether the result of the form is being picked up by a workflow has to do with workflow configuration mainly.

When-new-form-Instance trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-04062

Hi,
We are facing ORA-04062 (FRM-40735 WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA 04062) while trying to run the first form of our Application.
We are using a PL/SQL LIBRARY(.pll) for forms.
We are using 10G Application Server,10G DB and Oracle 9i Forms.
DB Version----10.1.0.4.0
Application Server--9.0.4.0
During compilation, we are following the below steps:
1. Compile the .pll
2.Compile Forms.
When we are running these compiled version of forms and pll in Development server where we are compiling it,we are not facing any error.
But when we are taking these compiled version of forms and pll to the Production Server,we are getting the above error.
When we are compiling the .pll in Production server, Application runs fine.
But we should not compile form or pll in Production server.
Searching in Metalink(Note:73506.1) , we find a solution that remote_dependency_mode if set to signature this problem may be resolved.
We tried that by chaning ' REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE=SIGNATURE' in Init.ora file in both Production and Development server.
But the error still persist.
I think the problem is regarding .pll.Because for the time being to test the application,I compiled the pll in Production and we didnot get any error while running the Application.
But whenever we are tring to deploy the compiled version of pll (compiling in Development sever) and to run the application in Production, we are facing the error.
Also, pll calls one standard database package in SYS.That standard package has VALID status both in Production and in Development.
We donot have priviledge to change/compile that package.So,we didnot change anything in that package. We didnot change anything in .pll also.
We are upgrading our forms from 6i to 9i.And now when we are trying to deploy it to Production we are facing ORA-04062 error.
Can anyone please help ?

Exactly what procedure or package in SYS are you calling that causes this problem?
Are both test and production databases at the same version?
Do you know what procedure or package is named in the error? If not, then you need to improve your on-error trigger processing. I use a PLL_On_Error trigger to capture and improve a number of Oracle messages. It is posted here:

Note especially the part near the end that deals with FRM-40735. (Not sure, but you may also want to display DBMS_ERROR_TEXT in your situation.)
If that doesn't help find the actual problem, I would pull out my Re: Zdebug -- Download a Forms debugging message tool, and add messages before every call in the when-new-form-instance process to zero-in on the offending call.
If it really IS a call to a system process, I would then experiment with creating a server-side package or stored procedure that calls the process, and then call that stored procedure from my form. That way, you effectively insulate your form from system differences.

WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger does not fire

Does anyone have any idea why code placed in the when-new-form-instance trigger appears to be ignored when the form is executed from one login but runs fine when executed from another? A breakpoint on the first executable line of code in the trigger confirms that the trigger is not being fired.

Hi again Duncan,
I was able to solve it once I ran the form with the Forms Runtime Diagnostics enabled. I had a table in my schema containing old data used to build menu items. This was causing runtime errors to occur during calls to SET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY that were not being propagated to the UI so I didn't know they were occuring.
The upshot was that the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger was not firing. Once I corrected the data it worked a treat.
Thanks very much for pointing me towards FRD, it's the first time I've used it but it won't be the last.

Populate two poplist items on when-new-form-instance trigger

I have a simple form with some text-items, datetime items, two poplist items and two buttons (exit and save to database).
Everything works well except the second poplist wont get populated. After wrote the code for the first i just wrote a similar one for the second poplist. Each poplist fetches its data from different tables. Nothing changed when i tried different list-item types (first worked, second didnt).
Here is the code in the when-new-form-instance trigger:

Can anyone tell me how can i use JDAPI to modify the when-new-form-instance trigger in all my forms,coz we have around 500 FMB's ,if this is possible by using jdapi it will be better for us..

The code I've given you should cover the basic steps - you will need to have a basic knowledge of Java if you want to use the JDAPI, there's no way around that unless you go and buy one of the off-the-shelf products for this kind of thing (I think there's one called orcltoolbox..?)
I've written an application that does all kinds of things to Forms specific to our needs, so it's a bit tricky to just pull out the code you need, but again, the basics will be:

FormModule mForm=FormModule.open(formName);
Trigger myWNFITrig=Trigger.find(mForm,"WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE");
String myText=myWNFITrig.getTriggerText();
And there you have your trigger text, to do with what you please. You could put this code in the main() method of one class if you want to keep things really simple - but see how you get on, if you have any more specific questions, do come back.
Eric - that's a very good point about using Regular Expressions. I haven't used them in my JDAPI app because I wanted to keep all my .fmbs 6i-compatible for the short-term, and a posting I saw somewhere recommended sticking to Java 1.3. Which rules out the regex facility, which only appeared in Java 1.4. Now, though, I think I needn't have worried - it surely shouldn't matter which version of Java I use to make the changes to the .fmbs. My stupid!

I'm not sure if you can do this to display on form load, but you could do this on submit and edit form.
