Hi
a friend of mine shocked me sending this
http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/c1f0b2b7-0660-4485-9842-756bc0355228
I was deploying a standard GUI apps to handle a ebook store but now I wonder if I should use this method to that allows clercks to perform advanced query on DB.
Has someone never used this methods?
Thanks

    Unable to initialize New Visual Design Mode.
    Please use Classic Mode.
    What can i do with this error? Thanks

    Hi,
    Do you see this error only in 1 system. If yes, perform the following:
    1. Install the updated display drivers.
    2. Check the operating system (some old operating systems such as Windows 98, NT doesn't support Visual designs.)
    3. Check that you have the latest version of SAP GUI patches installed.
    If the problem persists, run sapsweep.exe and install the GUI again.

  • ABAP GUI programming

    Hi,
    I'm quite new to programming GUI:s in ABAP so I have a general question for you guys.
    What are the best options in terms of ABAP language elements(module pools / reports / ABAP Objects ALV classes) to use for programming low to medium complexity GUI:s in ABAP? A typical scenario is that I need a simple selection screen for the user to make restrictions and then to generate a second screen with a list/table of data to be viewed and maintained by the user, the maintained data will then need to be saved into custom transparent tables when the user presses save - how would you program such a program in general terms?
    It is a plus if your proposed approach uses controls that can be translated to webgui.
    Any help appreciated,
    Regards,
    Christian

    hi Christian,
      As per your requirement, you need to develop a custom REPORT(in SAP terminalogy,we call it as). normally a report consists of a selection screen(where User may enter some Input values) & based on that we will fetch the database tables with the given criteria by the user & get the details & display the result as output(we call report output as LIST). this report we call it as BASIC REPORTS.
    if user requires any further functionality after this, we develop INTERACTIVE REPORT, which is nothing but after displaying the LIST(report OUTPUT) user can select/deselect some of the records & requests for further processing.
    so in your scenario,
    you have to develop
    1. a selection screen with the given fields
    2. a basic list, with all the details,what user wants
    3. take the selected records from the LIST(report Output)
    and updating the database.
    pl revert, if you need any clarifications
    Regards

  • Manufacturing programming mode is set to unlocked

    Hi All, Have just received a new laptop from HP that came, for some obscure reason we're yet to fathom without the operating system on the disk.
    I've spoken to HP and they're sending out a recovery disk. In the meantime I've installed Windows 8 using my own media. But. When the laptop boots I keep getting this message; "manufacturing programming mode is set to unlocked" Anyone know what this is, what the effect is on the laptop? I've tried updating the BIOS but it still comes up. Also, the 'born on' date within the BIOS is showing as 0/0/0 . Thanks

    Hello, I just got the response from the engineering guys. During their way in the factory, the units are set in MPM (Manufacturing Programming Mode) for all the funtionnal tests. This MPM is then deactivated at the end of the production line.For a small bunch of units (included yours), the MPM deactivation failed. The main issue is that, even if your Win8 key has been embedded in your BIOS, the MPM mode avoids WIndows to access and recognize it. A simple tool has been developped to solve this issue, but is confidential and can only be used by HP repair partners.You may ask why, so I'l explain quickly : this tool is harmless for almost every user, but it can be used by evil-minded persons to create BIOS viruses or hacking stuff. So, I'm sorry to inform you that the only way to get your BIOS in standard mode, and get your Win8 key recognized properly is to send your unit in repair. Regards.

  • New GUI Buttons

    Hi,
    Besides the existing GUI buttons in Labview, are there any place where new GUIs can be created or downloaded?
    Thanks alot
    From
    Don

    You can easily make your own using the control editor, e.g. cut& paste buttons from any existing windows program (e.g. MS Office) using a screen capture utility and an image editor.
    Also have a look at the openG button controls (see attached image). You can download and install it via the OpenG Commander.Message Edited by altenbach on 03-04-2005 08:31 PM

  • Running a GUI program with no X?

    Hi,
    I want to run a GUI program on my server, which has no X installed. Of course, the program would normally not run since it needs X (GUI only). I don't really need to be directly using this software, it just needs to run. Anybody here knows if there is any way to fool it into thinking X is there, so it'll still run on my server, preferably as a service in the background?
    PS
    I probably need the same thing for sound too, no alsa or pulse either.
    Any  help's appriciated.

    I probably owe you guys an explanetion: The program in question is Skype. I'm sick and tierd of having skype steal recources when all my other IMing is done in bitlbee. That's why I came up with the following solution: I've done some reading, and turns out skype has a bitlbee plugin.
    However, that plugin uses the skype API which means I can't get around having skype. So, I decided to try the following setup: Run a bitlbee server from my home server. Have skype sorta just run in there doing nothing, and use the bitlebee plugin so I can connect with my own computer and use skype with bitlbee (Note: this is so I can chat with friends, not so I can video / audio chat so I don't care about those features). Basicly that was my idea and i'm exploring the posibility. Skype sadly has no deamon mode, but it does offer a shell pipe login so I'll start skype in my server, and do that setup. Of course now that I see i'll need to install x no matter what i'm not sure if it's worth it. I don't need X on my server for any other purpuse and X will steal recources from my server. I do however love not needing a skype client nativly. Anyone has any experiance / ideas / advice about my idea?

    Wut? You want to output sound without anything that is able to output sound? Is it me or is that just plain weird....? o.O
    I realize it sounds comfusing but Skype needs somewhere to dump sound apperantly (I found that out on my resharch). So I need a way to fool it into thinking there's such a device.

  • How do i run a new software program (Investment Account Manager for Windows) using Windows emulation software?

    How can I run a new software program (Investment Account Manager for Windows) using Windows emulation software?

    You will need a licensed copy of Windows 7, and I recommend VMFusion. You can run the program in Unity mode just as if it were a Mac application. Or, you can install Windows in Bootcamp and run the Mac in Windows when you boot and run it that way. Depends on the resources. I prefer the VM method because it is cleaner and gives you more options as far as backups, etc.

  • Free ide for gui programming

    can someone tell me what's the best free java ide for gui programming?

    No one can answer the question of which one is better. It's like answering the question - is red more beautiful than yellow?
    I can however say that the plugins into eclipse which lets you build swing ui by drag and drop are not mature, and I don't think they work if you modify the code by hand, and then want to go back into "drag % drop" mode. The ui builder in jbuilder is nice, and doesn't clutter the code, and it works even if you have modified the code by hand.

  • Client-Server side GUI programming

    I want to create a client-server side gui programming with java
    i read this web adress
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/sockets/clientServer.html
    for information but there are some parts that i didnt understand and wait for your help
    i m trying to build an online-help(live chat) system so when people press the start chat button a java page will appear but i wonder how this will connect to the person who is on server side
    i mean is it possible to 2 users connect the same port and chat with each other
    I mean when user press the chat button the online help supporter will be informed somebody wants to speak with him and they will start a chat
    how can i do something like that
    any help would be usefull thanks

    Below is an example of a client/server program.
    It shows how the server listens for multiple clients.
    * TriviaServerMulti.java
    * Created on May 12, 2005
    package server;
    * @author johnz
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.util.Random;
    * This TriviaServer can handle multiple clientSockets simultaneously
    * This is accomplished by:
    * - listening for incoming clientSocket request in endless loop
    * - spawning a new TriviaServer for each incoming request
    * Client connects to server with:
    * telnet <ip_address> <port>
    *     <ip_address> = IP address of server
    *  <port> = port of server
    * In this case the port is 4413 , but server can listen on any port
    * If server runs on the same PC as client use IP_addess = localhost
    * The server reads file
    * Note: a production server needs to handle start, stop and status commands

  • New AEBS (dual mode) extending with AEBS - N Issues

    I just bought the new AEBS dual mode router. When I try to extend the network with a AEBS-N the attached computer always seem to to have DNS issues and cannot connect to websites. The problem appears to be very intermittent with network drops a few times and hour. As soon as I disconnect the router extending the dual band everything seems to be fine.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks-

    I think I found the problem. I've solved it, and now it's working really rock solid.
    And yes, the latest version of the 802.11n base stations (the dual band II) has indeed an enhanced radio subsystem.
    I was advertising a 802.11n network on 2.4 GHz as well, and I think that the remote base station, which doesn't have a choice to select 2.2 or 5 GHz, and relies on finding the main base station, was somewhat confused.
    After setting it to 802.11n (5 GHz) and 802.11b/g (2.4 GHz) it's working like a charm.
    I seemed to have some local interference, not sure about it, and I've changed to the highest channel on 5 GHz (48). As I said, working like a charm now. Rock solid and a clear improvement over the radio in the previous versions.

    I am seeking help for the following
    Define class MyColorChooser as a new component so it can be reused in other applications or applets. We want to use the new GUI component as part of an applet that displays the current Color value.
    The following is the code of MyColorChooser class
    * a) We define a class called MyColorChooser that provides three JSlider
    * objects and three JTextField objects. Each JSlider represents the values
    * from 0 to 255 for the red, green and blue parts of a color.
    * We use wred, green and blue values as the arguments to the Color contructeur
    * to create a new Color object.
    * We display the current value of each JSlider in the corresponding JTextField.
    * When the user changes the value of the JSlider, the JTextField(s) should be changed

    Yes, I want help for the missing code to add in actionPerformed method below. As a result, when you confirm the selected color (clicking the OK button), it will be transferred to a variable color of class ShowMyColor.

  • Downloaded yosemite and my iPhotos pics now appear as a grey square and triangle with an ! in it with in the new photos program

    I have a mac book pro and i just downloaded yosemite. after i downloaded yosemite i went to the new photos program as he iPhoto icon was no longer there and i followed the instructions. i then opened my pics and they all seemed to be there but when i enlarge them or double click on them all i see is a grey screen with a grey square with a grey triangle with an exclamation point in it. so in reality the pics aren't really there! maybe they are somewhere else but i do not know.
    just so you know: before i downloaded yosemite i did all the upgrades my computer said i needed to do, no iPhoto upgrade was listed. i didn't do any specific backup before downloaded yosemite but i do have a time machine connected to the computer so i do believe that i therefore have a backup. i am not exactly sure what version iPhoto i had but perhaps my iPhoto and the new photos program are not compatible. i say that because when i went into applications and clicked on iPhoto (as it was listed there) it said "in order to open "iPhoto" you need to update to the latest version. the version of iPhoto installed on this mac is not compatible with os x yosemite. download the latest version for free from the mac app store." so i searched the app store and it says that version is not available. the app store does list iPhoto in my purchased products but it only says update and not download. i clicked on update it doesn't appear to do anything but do a spinning circle for a few seconds and then nothing further. i don't know what to do next! what happened and how do i go about fixing this problem?

    The exclamation mark means that the app has lost the link to the actual file.
    First step: try and make sure the iPhoto Library is working correctly:
    Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
    If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
    Install the App from the App Store.
    Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

    One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
    iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • "File Repository Server error" when trying to commit a new CrystalEnterprise.Program instance to the InfoStore

    I've run into an issue where saving a new CrystalEnterprise.Program instance is throwing an ambiguous exception with no other information than a generic HRESULT code and the even less useful error message "File Repository Server error". I've debugged the code using the COMException managed debugging assistant and Reflector to get to the callsite of the COM object, but there is nothing there to indicate what the actual File Repository error is attributed to. Logging for the InputFileRepository service in the CMS was been set to HIGH, but nothing shows there as a result of my code executing.
    The call to myInfoStore.Commit(...) is where the COMException is thrown.
        protected void CreateProgramObject(InfoStore infoStore)
            using(PluginManager pluginManager = infoStore.PluginManager)
                using(InfoObjects newCollection = infoStore.NewInfoObjectCollection())
                    using(PluginInfo programPlugin = pluginManager.GetPluginInfo("CrystalEnterprise.Program"))
                        using(Program tempProg = (Program)newCollection.Add(programPlugin))
                            const string USER_FOLDER_QUERY =
                                "Select SI_ID From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_NAME = '[email protected]'";
                            using(InfoObjects folders = infoStore.Query(USER_FOLDER_QUERY))
                                if(folders.Count < 1)
                                    Response.Write("No user folder was found!");
                                    return;
                                using(InfoObject userReportFolder = folders[1])
                                    tempProg.Title = "Scheduled File";
                                    tempProg.Description = "My new program";
                                    tempProg.ParentID = userReportFolder.ID;
                                    tempProg.ProgramType = CeProgramType.ceScript;
                                    tempProg.Files.Add(@"E:\sample.bat");
                                    try
                                        infoStore.Commit(newCollection);
                                    catch(SystemException snx)
                                       Trace.Write(snx.ToString());
    Has anyone run into this issue and found a resolution?

    Thank you for the reply. I changed the file path on the BOE Server to match the path I'm using in the Files.Add(...) call. At least now I get a different error message, but it's still not enough to resolve the issue. The message is "File Repository Server error : File system operation for D:\Scripts\test.bat on File Repository Server failed.  If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator for event log information." I verified the service account the SIA service runs under can access that path, but still no luck.
    Using a UNC path resulted in the original "File Repository Server error" message in the Exception.
