New iPad(3) guidelines

I read http://blogs.adobe.com/indesigndocs/2012/03/guidelines-for-creating-folios-for-ipad-3.html and have some questions:
1. Rule one says to "Use PDF image format if possible". This do NOT work on kindle fire and other non iPad devices
- Should we make a seperate rendition for other devices?
I am confused by the difference between document size and folio size.
2. How is it possible to have a document size of 1024x768 but then create a folio rendition of 2048x1536 from the same source files?
3. Would I just use the same set of source files and choose a folio rendition of 2048x1536?

Some 1024x768 content looks great on the iPad 3. Some content is pixelated. It all depends on the content. Creating renditions is an option for multi-folio publications. Renditions for single-issue folios are not available and I'm not aware of plans to enable them.
Viewers on older iPads don't display 2048x1536 folios with two exceptions -- Preview on Device and single-issue viewers. If you use either method to display 2048x1536 folios on an iPad 1 or 2, the content looks fuzzy, and performance is poor. It's not simply a matter of the viewer scaling down content -- it's more complicated than that. In my opinion, when creating a Single Edition viewer, you're much better off creating a 1024x768 folio than a 2048x1536 folio. The performance and appearance on all devices is more even, especially if you use hi-res non-interactive content and take care with text. With a 2048 folio, the content will look great on the iPad 3 but lousy on the older models. Again, the iPad 3 is brand new and we're still trying to sort out best practices.

The settings are the same as my PC, SSL is off and there is no Authentication required; I've check this requirement with Apple and Orange guidelines and this is also what they recommend; however, I'll try with the Authentication on and see what happens....I'll post again later, running out of time now so it could be after the weekend before I get back with an update. One way would be to e-mail them from yourself to yourself. That would totally avoid the different ID issue.

Okay so I figured out the solution by reading other discussions. Basically you need to delete on your phone the icloud account and start up a new icloud account with a new email address. This is nice because you can still share apps without getting everyone elses things. The only thing that didn't get worked out was the notes...
On your phone go to settings and then icloud, scroll down and delete the account. Then just make a new icloud under a new email.

Why is 50GB of music gone? All music should exist on the computer. Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on.

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

Remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC with the new IPad

With the latest version of ITunes for both Win7 and the new IPad, I'm only able to use the new IPad to remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC through wired connection ( ethernet cable ) to the wireless router. As soon as I connect my PC through wireless connection, the new IPad can not find my libraries.
Is this a known issue or am I missing some settings?

You can backup your current iPad, and then restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (if you don't have the apps on your computer then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519)
The restore won't copy passwords onto a different device, so you will need to re-enter your email, router, and any website passwords onto the new iPad

If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.

If the SIM is out of your phone, find my phone needs a data connection, so could use wifi - IF in range of a wifi and one that it can join (ie. a known network or one that is wholly open so no login required). Your phone could also simple be turned off, so not findable, or it may have been restored (plugged into iTunes and restored as new) again, making it permanently unfindable. Honestly, for someone stealing an iPhone, this is likely the first thing they do - restore as new and it is theirs forever.
Find my iPhone is tied to the users iCloud account - the find function is part of the iCloud account's services and it communicates with the iCloud servers over a data connection - either wifi or 3G.
Have you set up your iCloud account on your replacement phone, and is it working properly on that phone?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

HT204022 Cannot delete photos from new iPad

When I hit edit and then select the photos, the red delete button does not become active to allow me to delete. Any ideas as to what I should do? I just got the new ipad today and restored it to my old ipad 2 via my MacBook. It's like I don't have permission or something. Can't seem to find a way to delete these photos from my ipad.

Where are the photos you are trying to delete?
If they are in the Camera Roll you should be able to delete them on the iPad.
But if they are in albums that were copied to you iPad by syncing with your computer you need to do another sync but before you click on Sync deselect the albums you no longer want on the iPad. Then click on Apply or Sync.

Thanks. I got the problem fixed. Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor. It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner. Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail. I checked all the specifics between the three units. It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com to TWC.com. Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
