New labtop

I just got a new labtop and am try to get my itunes songs off my old computer onto my new computer how do i do that. I am using a flash or jump drive and it is saying that the original file is not there how do i fix that and if i cant do it that way what is the best way to get them off i have xp on my old computer and xp on my new computer

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your new computer is to network it with the old one and copy your iTunes folder across. This works fine if you have been using iTunes to completely manage your music and all your songs are in iTunes Music not in different folders. You can also use this method with an external hard drive, you drag the folder from the old computer to the external drive and then from the drive to the new computer. If the songs in your library are not all in the iTunes Music folder you can consolidate them. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?
When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. This has to be the exact same place, on a PC this is \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will be the same as on the original one Songs, Playlists, Play Counts, Ratings etc. When I moved iTunes a while ago for my daughter I was also using the same version of iTunes, not sure how important that is but it's probably worth keeping them the same.
If you have any iTunes purchases in your library don't forget that you'll need to authorise your new computer to play them. Also if you are disposing of the old one remember to deauthorise it so you don't use up one of your allowances: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

I Just got a new labtop and already downloaded itunes onto it, but how do i get all my music onto my new computer?

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder form your old computer to /Music/ on your new computer.
FYI: It's a laptop because it sets on top of your lap.

  • If I can buy a new labtop with dual language keyboard English and Arabic

If I can buy a new labtop with dual keyboard language
    English and Arabic

Keyboards with Arabic on them always have English as well -- otherwise you would not be able to type email and webpage addresses.
As far as where you can buy something, you have to contact stores directly yourself, nobody here can do that for you.

  • New labtop with old computer

i have a 30gb video ipod i have my old computer has all my 650 songs and i need to get all my song and videos to my new labtop
i saw the cd way & the ipod way is there anyone 2 send it or put it on a hard drive and then add it???

I didnt know that a LAPTOP is called a LABTOP in USA. There is a first time for everything.
Try using an external portable hard disk to store all your songs or video. Why jam up all your space in your laptop. The hard disk space on your laptop is limited and if you store all the songs or videos, you will not be using your laptop to do any other things. If you prefer to do that, then you are just having an expensive storage device. With an external portable storage device for you songs or video, you will have a solution to transfer to your iPod from any computers or Labtop(oops sorry) Laptop!!!!!!!!!
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I move 250 songs in iPod nano(Mac) to new labtop(Windows XP)?

I have 250 songs in nano, wich was download from Mac system. and my nano is defined as Mac while it was first connected to Mac computer. Now I want to move these 250 songs from nano to new Windows XP labtop, but it showed "restore" while connecting to new labtop... I really don't want to lose these 250 songs..... Does anyone have solution to move songs from nano, which is in Mac system, to new labtop(Windows system?

Shirley, it is possible to move files from an iPod to a PC, but it is not easy. (Search this site if you want to give it a try.) If you still have access to the Mac, it would be much easier to move the files from the Mac to the Windows machine, and then sync the iPod.
To move the files, you can copy to an external HD and then copy to the PC. Or, if you have a flash drive of at least 512 Meg, you could use it to move the 250 songs in 2 or 3 batches.

  • Getting a new labtop...how should I acquire installation key from Adobe

My labtop is getting OLD now...I need to replace it with a new one. What should I do to get installation key from Adobe or what steps should I do? Thank you

Log in to your Adobe account online and see if your serial number for whatever product(s) this involves is available there.  If you registered your software then it should be though it can depend on how OLD you mean.
If you happen to have a Windows machine then you can try running Belarc Advisor to get the serial number from the installation itself...

  • My old computer crashed and i lost everything from contacts too music. i have a new labtop and want to sync my contacts and music and apps over to itunes without everything being erased. what is the easiest way to do that?

My old computer crashed and i lost everything that was on itunes and on the computer contacts music etc. i want to get the new iphone but the 3gs i have has not been sync with the new computer & I don't want to loose or have everything erased on my phone just want to put everything that's on my phone to new computer. what the most uncomplicated way to do that?

    No.
All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?
    The same applies here.

  • Going to college and need to transfer iTunes from home computer to labtop

What is the easiest way to transfer iTunes from one computer to another, do you suggest using a flash drive? Will that still allow me to access iTunes from both my home computer and my new labtop? Will I still be able to listen to my music from both computers? Thanks for any help!

+What is the easiest way to transfer iTunes from one computer to another,+
On the new one, download iTunes from the Apple site and install it. Copy the Music folder from the old PC to the new one. If your library contains any iTunes Store purchases, make sure to authorize the laptop to the same account.
    +do you suggest using a flash drive?+
Yes, but first compare the size of your music library to the available capacity on the flash drive. Some music libraries are bigger than a flash drive can hold, in which case you will have to do it in several batches, or use a bigger medium such as an external HD.
+Will that still allow me to access iTunes from both my home computer and my new labtop?+
    Yes.

    Yes.

  • Problem with labtop resolusion too small

    Hi everyone,
this is weird quasion but i cant find any place else where to ask this quastion:
im programming a progam that have a jframe of 1000x 750
and my new labtop max resolustion is 1280x800 this mean i dont see the full JFRAME and i cant programm my program
is there any way to make all the comonents on the JFRAME smaller?
or any outzoom programs or command or any solusion for this?
    thanks in advance

Why do you have a fixed size to begin with?
Sure there's a way to resize, but your question is too general to tell you how. Your LayoutManager should take care of that.
And for what it's worth: Swing questions are best asked in the Swing section, wouldn't you think?

  • Older software on new PC

Having changed to a new labtop, installing my licensed programs Photoshop and Illustrator ver CS2, and Premiere PRO ver. 1.5, I'm now asked for activation codes.
    Activation on-line doesnot work!
    Phone activation doesn't work!
I'm aware that my sw isn't the latest versions, but they have been working all-right for me, no need for upgrades.
And now I'm no longer able to use my licensed software, and it also seems impossible to get in touch with responsible persons at Adobe....
I've tried the Adobe chat, but that was just useless spill of time...
Shall I really look out for competitive software - and forget all about my licensed Adobe software?

    Hi gammelswe,
    Welcome to Adobe Forum,
The CS2 & prior version are no more supported by Adobe. If you have a machine which meets system requirement of CS2
    (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop.html#main_ Older_Versions)
Then you have to download the product from the below mentioned link & use the serial number given beside each product.

Please let us know if it worked.
