  • CUP - Issue regarding creation of New SAP ID in CUP.

    System :  SAP GRC 5.3 SP 12..
We have requirement where in we need to design a workflow for creation of New SAP ID.
The Naming convention followed for SAP ID is FIRST LETTER of FIRST NAME and LAST NAME with maximum 8 characters.
    For Eg
JOHN SMITH would have SAP ID as JSMITH
JERRY SMITH would  have SAP ID as  JSMITH01
The requirement here is when user fill the REQUEST FORM for NEW User ID there is field where in the requestor need to put the desired SAP ID,
Can a validation be set OR Logic be written so that user can put the SAP ID as per the naming convention..?
Also , any other solution as to how the situtation can be handled in CUP...
    Regards.
    Ajit

    Hi Ajit,
Yes, you can maintain the user ID in the Active Directory. User id will be now auto populated in the request form, from Active Directory when  we data Source is LDAP -Actice directory. So when user login to end user form to create a request, It's all information( user details + manager details ) will fetched from Active Directory.
It is not possible to change userid in later stage of approval in the request.
You can have security as final stage and guide them to create user manually as per naming convention.
Make auto provisioning OFF in CUP
    Kind Regards,
    Srinivasan

  • Creating a new user in solution manager?

    Dear All,
How to create a new user in solution manager for creating an incident?

    prathish5,
I did this in our SolMan by following the instructions provided by a SAP document called: "Service Desk VAR Setup Master Data". I got it from the Support Portal, though I can't seem to find it now so I can't provide a link at this time.
Anyway, assuming that your SolMan is already able to download your master data (and/or your customers', if you are a VAR), these are the steps suggested by the guide:
    1) The message creator (aka Key User) should have the following authorization roles:
    SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
    SAP_SUPPCF_CREATE
    SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
    SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN
    See also SAP note 834534.
A best practice is to create a Z copy of all of these roles (use transaction PFCG), so you can manage them and change them around if you need to. Just make sure to "activate" all the authorizations of your copy of the roles:
    - Open the roles in tr. PFCG;
    - Select Authorizations, and choose Change authorization data;
    - If you get a yellow semaphore, be sure to review the authorizations and fill them according to your security policy. You can assign global permissions for all the authorization objects by double-clicking the yellow semaphore;
    - Generate the profile, then go back and save the role;
    2) Following the guide, with tr. SU01 I created a Template user and called it KEY_USER (make sure the user type is actually Template) and assigned to it the Z roles you created in the step above;
    3) If your SolMan is working properly, you can now use report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP (tr. SA38) to create the Business Partners and SAP users automatically. The report will log in the Support Portal and read the users which are authorized to open a SAP tickets, and create a BP and user for each of them. Use the Template user KEY_USER created in step 2 as a "Reference user" and all the new users will automatically get the correct autorizations. Also if your SAP Connect (tr. SCOT) is correctly configured, you can choose to send an automatic mail to each user, with their login and generated password.
Otherwise, you can manually create a user with transactions SU01 and BP - be sure to fill the "Identities" table here - the report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP makes all these things automatically so it's definitely your best bet.
    4) Your users should now be able to log in with the SAPgui and use transaction CREATE_NOTIF to create a new message in your SolMan. Also if you have done the preparation steps correctly they should also be able to log in your Incident Manager using their browser, and open a message there and also review their past messages.
Those are just a quick insight of the steps you need to do. This is NOT an easy thing to configure, at least it wasn't for me; if you don't have a reliable guide to follow you're going to struggle: I strongly suggest you browse through the SAP documentations (also the blogs) - http://service.sap.com/xsearch is your best friend!
I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck.

    My question is
If customer wants HA or redundancy across both the D.C,  how do I design the solution
Can I just double the quantity in the VM and replicate all the components in the other D.C ?
Please let me know what is the ideal solution to achieve the HA.
I referred the SRND BUT, I am unable to get what I need
ashwin (from egain) response was  "Yes, it will be equivalent to doing a new deployment in DC2. You will also need to setup database replication jobs between the SQL DB of DC1 and that of DC2. This is a standard Microsoft procedure. Plus, when DC1 goes down, DC2 must be brought up manually – procedure called cold standby. This deployment is outside of the main product-supported deployments, because of additional factors such as SQL replication, cold standby steps, etc, so more often than not, will involve eGain PS engagement."
My biggest concren is that if I place the componenst across two D.C is that even a supported model. I don't want the customer to deploy an unsupported model . Please recommed the right architecture. I have attcahed the arch diagram & blade mapping as well

Is there any Partial Marking available?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Nagendra
No partial marking exists in the new pattern now.
You wll have to mark ALL the correct options in order to gain that one full mark for a question.
And yes, pass marks is 55%. You are right.
Let me know if any other query about the certification.
please if your query is solved, close the thread.

  • Bandwidth required with new SAP GUi

    Hey all,
I am trying to find out what is the bandwidth required for each user for each session for SAP GUI 7.0. With the old SAP GUI 620, we had 3 KB per user per session required.
    Thanks in advance.
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
there shouldn't be very much difference. The [Sizing Guide "Front-End network requirements for SAP Business Solutions"|http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700003943521999E] doesn't mention any version dependent values.

  • New SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12

    Hello SDN Community,
The new SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12 is available for download at:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/b2918eea-0601-0010-6284-e6cb7eee4399 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    <a href="ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sdn/devkits/netweaver/abap/SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12.part2.rar">ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sdn/devkits/netweaver/abap/SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12.part2.rar</a>
The same procedure applies as in earlier versions, download both archives, place it into the same folder and <b>extract ...part1.rar only</b>.
    Enjoy,
    Klaus

    Hello Yann Szwec,
I am using up to now Windows XP Home Edition. After some problems during installation I have read again the "recommendations" for using the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12. Furthermore I searched here in SDN for solutions which might be available regarding the problem I have.
The important fact is that this software is released only for the following operating systems:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003.
(having a NTFS file structure etc.)
No other release is done (taking into account Windows Vista).
I have done an update to Microsoft Professional Edition but I have still some installation problems.
    Please refer to:
Re: Error Install SAP Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial version
    or
Sap Netweaver 2004 ABAP trial version com.sap.installshield.maxdb.maxdb...
Up to now I have no idea why after installation of Windows XP Professional I have  still the same problem.
The problem is exactly what is described in Sap Netweaver 2004 ABAP trial version com.sap.installshield.maxdb.maxdb...
But I have the feeling that my Windows XP Professional Installation was not correct (because there are some other problems around too)
So my recommendation to the description for downloading would be to highlight more this important recommendation of use of the ABAP trial version
    (refer to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6).
For further versions which might be released in the future (hopefully) it would be nice if the support regarding Windows versions would be a little more broader (Windows XP Home etc.). But this is only a wish from my side.
    With best regards
    Christoph

  • SAP Learning Solutions - Course Catalog Plan Versions

    Hi
I am new to this community and not quite sure how it works.
We are going to implement SAP Learning Solutions in the near future and within our company we have a division that wishes to store and track learning.  The main division will be using the active course catalog and doesn't want the other division's data mixed.  Also there is an issue with security that we need to deal with.
My question is - Can I use a different version to store the smaller divisions information?  In dev I can see courses attached to the other version and I am able to add participants, but none of the reporting displays a participant list.
Is this the best way to solve the situation or is there another way?
I would appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks
    Karen

  • Solution Architecture Diagram for an Internet, Intranet Scenario

Can someone point me to a link which has a typical solution architecture diagram (logical, deployment, anything) for a SharePoint 2013 Internet/Intranet scenario.

    Hi  SP Dev101,
For Internet and Intranet, There is no functional difference between them. They represent different logical paths to gain access to the same sites in a web application.
To understand the connection between them,
the article A guide to Alternate Access Mappings Basics in SharePoint 2013 is
    very useful.
    An eBook for
how to create a test lab containing intranet and team sites in a SharePoint Server 2013 three-tier farm you can have a look.
    Also a good book named
Microsoft SharePoint 2013: Designing and Architecting Solutions you can refer to.
Finally I recommend you watch the video
Real world SharePoint 2013 architecture decisions which is based on real world implementation experience.
    Best Regards,
