New Services Taking forever to be connected

BT's disgustingly poor level of service - worse than a 3rd world country's debt.
Constant lack of any level of professionalism or ability to provide the service that we as customers pay for. This has been since day 1 and we have been with BT now for more than a couple of years.
Started when we first signed up with BT in Jan 2011, we order our phone line, broadband and BT Vision with BT. Booked appointment and it took several weeks for phone line to be set up and then several more for broadband and BT vision and was constantly us chasing - never BT. Utterly useless.
Then in December 2012, we renegotiated a new contract to stay with BT. Unfortunately we were flooded at our property just before XMas and made homeless. Then in Jan 2013, we found a new property and in early-mid Jan we advised BT that we were moving on Feb 1st and an order was placed to move our services to our new property and we were advised that this was all fine and there were no issues.
Then we moved into our property on Feb 1st, lo and behold no services (typical BT incompetence) despite us checking the progress of this several times before moving in. So since then, we have spent several hours on the phone to incompetent BT from our mobiles I may add trying to sort this out being transferred from department to department. Despite assurances that all was sorted and phone would be up and running within 24 hours, it never was and only us chasing did anything happen. Now eventually our phone is working, but it is the wrong phone number and still broadband and BT Vision still not working.
Now today, we have been told once again that our phone number will be changed to the correct number within the "usual BT 24 hours", Forgive me if I don't seem confident about that. We have today been told that the orders have been utterly messed up constantly by BT - no Sh&^(&*^% sherlock and that because of that our BT Vision and Broadband will be at least another 5 working days which is going to be 2 weeks after it all should have been done and still no guarantees that this will be done then either.
And BT have the cheek to ask us to complete satisfaction surveys and advertise that customer service is their focus yet getting through to someone takes forever and then you are transferred from department to department till you eventually get sent to someobe in India, and it doesn't matter who you speak to - you are all incompetent and never sort the issue even when it is us constantly chasing. And everyone is always sorry, but no-one ever fixes it. So given this we now face, what are you going to do to fix it - this should be a priority.
BT you are useless, utterly incompetent and a disgrace to call yourself a business.

  • New service taking forever to activate

So I ordered HSI last Monday and they said the modem would be there on Friday. I got the modem on Wednesday and promptly plugged in and set it up. I called to see if they could activate my account but they said I would have to wait until Friday, That's fine, so Friday comes and still nothing so I call up. They say that my account is still being looked at but they will open up a support ticket and that ticket should be taken care of by Saturday/Sunday. I call Sunday and get told that the department looking at my issue (activation department?) isn't there on the weekends so I have to call back Monday. I called back yesterday and the tech on the phone ran through basic troubleshooting steps (that I've gone through with the other techs) then tells me that a person from the activation department will call me between 24-48 hours, this is the 3rd time I've heard that from a verizon tech and I'm just wondering if it takes an act of god to get DSL service. Also, they never call me back when they say they are going to I have to constantly keep calling them. Can the issue get resolved already so I can have internet in my new house?!

Well, the tech is supposed to come out today so I am waiting for his call. I will give you all an update as soon as I know more.

  • Okay so I just got a new MacBook and I'm setting it up. I decided to not download all of my files to iCloud drive and its taking forever to load to the next page. Is this normal for it to take so long? After all I didn't even download my stuff?

why is it taking forever to load!?

The files you are loading into the new computer are by wi-fi? If you have no other option
that may be OK but slow. A faster method would be Ethernet cable from internet router
or modem, instead of wireless. Most of the setup process can take some time.
What are these files? Where are they now?
Do you have a backup on-site, & not online?
Did you check to see if the operating system was updated as part of the setup before use?
The Software Update can locate later parts to the as-shipped system, that may be needed.
Other upgrades or new apps are through the Mac App Store, some through App Store, etc.
As part of the setup, you could use a migration assistant if you have a backup from the old
computer or have other files saved in an external hard drive to import.
Hopefully your process won't be drawn out too long...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Qosmio X500-128, taking forever to boot also Toshiba service station error

    Hi
My toshiba qosmio x500-128 is taking forever to boot up these days, iver rolled back the system using system restore, ive stopped any unessential startup services that i know are not req at startup but the system still takes forever to boot, ive also updated to the latest BIOS etc
Another thing is that everytime i login i get the error that Toshiba Service station has stopped working...
any help would be greatly appreciated

So if I am to do a system reformat. I am no novice with computers but by no means completely efficient at everything. What is the "best-practice" when doing a system reformat?
Burn a reformat disc from the system utilities?
Is there a way to reformat that would install the latest drivers/BIOS?
I am going to have a headache with the stuff on my HDD, eg. iTunes, photos, university work don't think I have enough space on my extra HDD's to store it all then to re-transfer it all back... :(
Lets just say I'm not looking forward to doing it, and I am the one everyone goes to to do these sort of things for, I don't mind if I mess up their computers that much but this laptop is my baby :D

  • Shared Services is taking forever to come up

    Hello Experts,
One of my customer has an issue with Shared Services. They have intergrated Shared Services with Active Directory and want to pull users into a SS from a specific AD group. Right now its pulling all the users but Shared Services is taking forever to come up.
    Environment:
    Essbase version 9.3.1
    OS : Win 2003 server SP1
Any inputs on this issue is appreciated. Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Sonu

    Hi,
Is the MSAD large, if so are you filtering down to a more specific area instead of looking at the whole AD.
Also have you tried applying patch :- 9.3.1.0.07 which addresses -
Shared Services made several calls to the user directory server (LDAP or MSAD) to build group and user cache, causing slow startup performance (Bug# 7144686). This fix significantly reduces the number of calls made to the user directory server to improve start up performance.
You can download it from metalink3
    Cheers

  • HT2518 migration is taking forever from windows 7 via wireless. can i stop it and connect wired?

File migration is taking forever from Windows 7 pc. Can I stop and reconnect using usb 2.0?

Your only option in that respect would be to create an adhoc Wi-Fi network with the Windows 7 device. And no, you could not connect the iOS devices via cable to connect them to that network. You can share the iOS device cellular internet capability with a computer via Personal Hotspot, but the iOS devices do not have the capability to connect to a wired network or to a computer's internet via a cable.

  • Trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

I'm trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

At what stage it is freezing?
There are six steps or so.
Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • During startup my ipod is taking forever to connect to my wifi network. I have the corrct key and everything. Any help?

During startup my ipod is taking forever to connect to my wifi network. I have the corrct key and everything. Any help?

Your model MB528LL ipod is a 2G and can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. many apps now require 4.3 or later.
You said "will not use the WiFi connection that I have looged on to it continues to tell me that it can't use anything without a secure connection."
Just what are you doing when you get that message and what is the exact wording of the error message?

  • I'm backing up my new iphone 5 from icloud and it's taking forever to download my photos. It being going for four days. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm backing up my new iphone 5 from icloud and it's taking forever for my photos to download. It's been going for 4 days. It's downloaded 1400 out of 1900 photos. Am I doing something wrong?

I think you may not using the right technical terms.  When backing up to icloud, there is no way you'd get a message saying things will be wiped.  This message may be displayed when you are performing a RESTORE from a backup and then trying to cancel it.
If you are doing a restore, then you can reboot and restore again.

Am I missing something?

  • Installed the OS update.  Now my 'sleep' command is taking forever to take effect.

Installed the OS update.  Now my 'sleep' command is taking forever to take effect.

I'm having the same issue. My iPod video now blinks on and off with the apple logo every 3-5 seconds. The HD clicks as well, but nothing happens. It has been like this for about an hour now, and my iTunes does not even recognize that my iPod is connected. Is there something wrong with the iPod update that we are not aware of? And if so, how can I restore my software without having to reinstall all of my songs and videos? This is really frustrating, and there should be some kind of warning about problems that can occur with new software updates.

  • System restore taking forever

after instaling windows updates i  restored windows and its taking forever right now its at restoring rejistery and its been there for about 3 hours what should i do?
    thanks

    Yup! it is frozen.
I got the same problem with my system just last week. I tried re-do it a few times, no resolved.
I first tried with SSD, everything went smoothly until I removed the last disc from the PC and the computer started installing all original factory softwares. I left it overnight and even half of a day next day. It kept going....
I decided shut it down and re-do it with a brand new 1TB HDD, it did the same thing...
Then I tried it with another brand new 1.5TB HDD, same thing happened...
I was just about to give up, but I thought I gona give it one time try. This time I got another 320GB HDD.. It did the same.
Then I just remembered I connected all those drives to the SATA slot other than the slot that my old C: drive was connected to.
I reconnected the new 320GB to this old "C:" slot SATA and tried to restore again... guess what? It works...
    My problem solved!!!!
    Hope this helps!

  • HT1386 Syncing taking FOREVER

why is it taking forever to sync my ipad? its been syncing for about 45 mins I cant eject or anything is it ok to disconnect from computer??

    You're welcome.
    You won't lose everything.
All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
All photos and/or videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Did you read the info included with the link provided? If so, have you imported all photos and/or videos from your iPhone's Camera Roll followed by deleting the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete? If so, any change with your iPhone's backup time after doing so?
Contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer, so none of this data will be lost either.
If your iPhone's Camera Roll is empty and no change with it empty, you can try deleting the existing backup followed by manually creating a new backup. Go to iTunes > Preferences and under the Devices tab select the current backup followed by selecting Delete.
With your iPhone connected, right click on your iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Back Up to create a new backup.
