New update to Itunes cured my calendar issue

I just loaded the newest itunes (security) update 7.7.1 and I want to let people know that at least in my case it has helped with my calendar sync issues. Now my outlook 2007 calendar syncs in both directions.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Why doesn't the new update for itunes work?

I have tried to download the new update for itunes now several times and it doesn't work! It gets so far then doesn't work. I have tried to uninstalled then reinstall itunes and that hasn't worked either so I no longer have a working itunes on my computer. And having an ipod nano, which doesn't have wifi I can't update it at all. Getting very annoyed!!!

Hi there, to authorize a computer, you open up itunes, and at the very very top lefthand corner, there will be a little window. Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! It appears to be a bug with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

I had the same problem and managed to get all my old contacts back. It was because I synced my contacts toiCloud on the initial setup, but nothing was in there. If you go to settings-iCloud- and turn off contacts, your old contacts should appear!

Why can't i install the new update for itunes?

Every time I try to install iTunes 10.6.1 it says there is an error. So I try to do it manually and it says an error occured during configuration.
I have a new iPhone that I'm trying to sync to iTunes and it won't let me and I think it's because of this update.

I don't get any information from the updater. It just tells me "an error has occurred during the installation" so there is no way to search what the issue might be. In the past I've had to have my virus software turned off to complete an update for iTunes but that didn't work this time. Still won't update and just says "error" - no code, no reason. It suggests a manual installation but the same thing happened when I tried that.
