Newbie, Help using the persistence API

Hi all,
I am trying to implement 1 : n relations between objects.
In the  SAP example (Persistence example) you can see this:
P_CLASS_CAR = PDR.createClassDescriptor(Car.CLASSTYPE, CAR_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("license", License.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType.SINGLE, true)});
P_CLASS_LICENSE = PDR.createClassDescriptor(License.CLASSTYPE, NO_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("car", Car.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType.SINGLE, true)});
In this case we had a that one (1) car has one (1) License or 1:1 relation
But what about if the relations are 1:n for example one car with many license? Should i use this...
P_CLASS_CAR = PDR.createClassDescriptor(Car.CLASSTYPE, CAR_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("license", License.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType.<b>MULTIPLE_VECTOR</b>, true)});
P_CLASS_LICENSE_<b>1</b> = PDR.createClassDescriptor(License.CLASSTYPE, NO_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("car", Car.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType<b>.SINGLE</b>, true)});
P_CLASS_LICENSE_<b>2</b> = PDR.createClassDescriptor(License.CLASSTYPE, NO_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("car", Car.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType<b>.SINGLE</b>, true)});
P_CLASS_LICENSE_<b>n</b> = PDR.createClassDescriptor(License.CLASSTYPE, NO_ATTRIBS, new LinkDescriptor[] { PDR.createLinkDescriptor("car", Car.CLASSTYPE, MultiplicityType.<b>SINGLE</b>, true)});
So i have to put the MULTIPLE_VECTOR instead of SINGLE  to say that there is a 1:n relation for example one (1) car have n licenses but  one (1) license   belongs to only one car. Is this correct?

    Hi All,
    I am running on NW2004s SPS10
    Please somebody has a Persistence example?? I can't run the SAP examples on my PDA (Dell AXIM X51v +Windows Mobile 2005) i found this information in the SAP Note 717510
    <i>MDK: Links to MI client home page <b>are not working</b> in some example programs
    Application is working fine but for the ME Home link for 3 MDK applications: MDK_persistence_query_sortJSP, MDK_persistence_queryJSP and MDK_persistence_simpleJSP.
    ( Changed at 30.04.2007 )</i>
    I would like to run the MDK_persistence_simpleJSP
    There is another Persistence example? Can somebody give me a link to download it. I want to learn how to use the persistence api, but without any running example is very difficult to test the code.

    Hi all! Thank a lot for your replies.
    I run the MDK_PERSISTENCE_QUERYJSP in the Windows XP SAP Mobile Client, it runs Perfect!
    But when i try to run it on my PDA it give me this error:

  • Help/Example needed for creating JMSQueues/JMSTopics using the MBean API

    I am trying to create JMSQueues programmatically using the MBean API. When
    I use MBeanHome.createAdminMBean(), a queue appears in the root of the
    config file. This is progress, but the queue is in the wrong place! I need
    the queues to be part of my JMS server's "destinations" as seen on the
    console.
    So now I am trying to use createConfigurationMBean() instead, but I can't
    figure out what the "parent" parameter should be- no documentation! My
    first guess was that the parent might be the JMSServer, but that doesn't
    work.
    Anyone have example code to insert JMSQueues and JMSTopics into a specific
    JMS server's destinations?
    Here is the code I tried... All goes well until the final
    createConfigurationMBean call, where it throws a MBeanCreationException:
    // Get the MBeanHome bean
    Object obj = jndiContext.lookup("weblogic.management.adminhome");
    MBeanHome mbeanhome = (MBeanHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    (obj, MBeanHome.class);
    // Get the server MBean
    JMSServerMBean jmsServerMB =
    (JMSServerMBean)mbeanhome.getMBean("examplesJMSServer",
    JMSServerMBean.class);
    // Create the new Queue
    JMSQueueMBean jmsQMB = (JMSQueueMBean)mbeanhome.createConfigurationMBean
    ("weblogic.examples.jms.fooQueue", "JMSQueue", jmsServerMB);

    Ok, I still don't see how I can do it differently with the admin tool. If
    you want to see the commands I'm using, I can post them, but the basic one
    is shown below in the previous message. We're trying to set up a script so
    that developers can just run it and properly configure WebLogic with the
    right components.

    I am using the weblogic.Admin tool, not doing this in code. I will attempt
    to translate your advice when I get time again.
    My commands look like this:
    java weblogic.Admin -url 127.0.0.1:7001 -username system -passwordweblogic
    CREATE -mbean "mydomain:Type=JMSQueue,Name=MyJMSQueue"
    I create this, I create the JMSServer MBean, then do and INVOKE (insteadof
    CREATE) and call the addDestination method, adding the JMS Queue MBeanthat
    I created previously, using the same naming scheme as in the above CREATE.

  • How to count number of lines inside methods() using the Doclet API

    Wrote a custom doclet using the [Doclet API|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/javadoc/doclet/index.html ] .
    The purpose for the doclet is to load Java source files and create stubs (which are identical Java source files but do not contain any method implementation details).
    Instead, the method implementation details need to be replaced with blank lines...
    public class MyDoclet {
         private static String TAB = "\t";
         public static boolean start(RootDoc root) {
              ClassDoc[] classes = root.classes();
              // Parse through class or interface
              for (ClassDoc clazz : classes) {
                   Type superClass = clazz.superclassType();
                   // Print Methods
                   MethodDoc[] methods = clazz.methods();
                   for (MethodDoc method : methods) {
                        Parameter[] parameters = method.parameters();
                        println();
                        if (!method.isPrivate()) {
                             print(TAB + method.modifiers() + " "
                                                    + method.returnType().simpleTypeName() + " " + method.name());
                             print("(");
                             for (int i=0; i < parameters.length; i++) {
                                  Parameter parameter = (Parameter) parameters;
                                  print(parameter.type().simpleTypeName() + " " + parameter.name());
                                  if (i != parameters.length - 1) {
                                       print(", ");
                             print(")");
                             println(" {");
                             println("\n");
                             println(TAB + "}");
              return true;
    As one can see, I am just creating the method and placing the opening and closing curly braces (along with a new \n line escape sequence, in between).
    Am not really that familiar with the Doclet API...
    Question(s):
    (1) What is the best way to figure out how many lines of code are inside each method and then use a for loop to insert the exact same number of blank lines inside the methods?
    (2) Is there a way to do it using the com.sun.javadoc.SourcePosition.line() method?
    Would really appreciate it if someone could help me because this is an important requirement (hence the 10 Duke Stars).
    Happy coding to all,
    Mike

    This is not possible using the Doclet API, because JavaDoc does not store any information regarding implementation detail. Although MethodDoc#position will give you the line where the method is declared, there is no way to determine where the method body starts and ends.
    If you need that much information, maybe you would be better of using a tool such as Eclipse's Abstract Syntax Tree parser. AST will provide you with line numbers for each code expression, hence it is relatively easy to compute the first and last line in a method body.

  • How to use the UME api in order to search the LDAP?

    Hello,
    I have an application which connects to the LDAP the portal is connecting to and search users according to a certain search criteria.
    Here is the relevant piece of code:
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
    SearchControls controls = new SearchControls();
    String filter = "firstName=..."
    NamingEnumeration results = ctx.search("OU=OUs", filter, controls);
    I would like to do this same search using the UME API.
    Can someone please show me the equivalent code to it using the UME API?

    Hi Roy,
    you find the Configuration File you are using in your portal via System Administration -> System Configuration -> UM Configuration -> Data Sources
    or in sapume.properties where you can find
    ##xml file that configures the persistence except roles
    ume.persistence.data_source_configuration=YOUR_DATASOURCE_CONFIG_FILE.xml
    In this xml file, there is the entry
    <principal type="user">:
    <principal type="user">
         <nameSpaces>
         <nameSpace name="com.sap.security.core.usermanagement">
    <attributes>

         <attribute name="PRINCIPAL_RELATION_PARENT_ATTRIBUTE"/>
         </attributes>
         </nameSpace>
        </nameSpaces>
    </principal>
    According to your company LDAP attributes, you will have to extend the above attributes, telephoneShort for example is an attribute within our company.
    The UME API does the rest.
    All you have to do, is request the right attribute (in my above example it was the last name).
    (Sorry for the format, but it is quite cumbersome to format it properly with the available editor   )
    Kind regards,

  • "select into" query statements using the DI API

    I am trying to use the DI API (6.5) t create a temp table based on an existing table.  For example, here is a query string....

    Code...
    oRecordSet := IRecordset(oCompany.GetBusinessObject(BoRecordset));

    For any other regular select statements the previous code works.  Does anyone know for sure if a "select into" statement is not possible using the DI API?

    Hi Bill,
    I´m not really sure if select into is avaiable. But here you´ve got a hint: You could use a user defined function to do it, and just call the function from your code.
    SELECT dbo.MyFunction()
    Having this function defined in your SQL Server:
    CREATE function MyFunction ()
    returns char(2)
    AS
    Begin
    select * into ORDR_TEMP from ORDR
    Return ('OK')
    End
    Hope this helps,

  • Why to use the Java API in MDM

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to the MDM.
    We are having the requirement of inetration between Portal and MDM.Can u please tell me when to use the following coponents like the scenorio's.
    Why to install the MDM Business packages in Portal?
    why to use the JAVA API.
    Please give me the complete information.
    Regards

    Hi Vijay,
    Standard Business Package is use to provide interaction between MDM Server and the Portal. It consists of MDM iViews like Item Detail iView (allows to create,edit and delete the records) , Resultset iView (Displays the records, allows to add the records in workflows etc), Search iViews (for searching)i.e. Data Manager functionality.
    Java API are used when you need some functionality that standard MDM iViews dont have.MDM Java API consists of set of classes and interfaces with the help of which customization can be done.

  • Use of Persistence API

    Hi,
              I want to know any business scenario, or any case where the Persistence API are explicitly needed.Whenever we use a smart sync application based on the metaRep.xml file the persistence to the DB2E or filesystem is taken care of by the Framework itself . So where do we need to implement it?
    Thanks in Advance
    Veerabhadram

    Hi Veerabhadram,
    Mobile Asset Management application is using both Framework persistence to download/upload data (with SmartSync, via SyncBo) and local persistence.
    When data is local and only serves to run application we persist it locally.
    One example - all lists in application are defined in xml file, which is rendered either when application run first or xml file is changed. We persist rendering results for performance purposes.

    Sorry for a novice question but I couldn't find the way to go about this (probably because it's such common knowldge...)
    I would like to try and use the Worklist API from my Java code in Eclipse, and according to the BPEL dev-guide I need to add an Import command for oracle.tip.pc.api.worklist. Where do I find these classes ?????

    thanks.

    Hi all,
    Ok now.
    To summarize - I was trying the code from BPEL developer guide, chapter 17, page 40 for using the Worklist local API's.
    Only after adding the following JAR's to the build path, was I able to compile it:
    orabpel-common.jar
    orabpel.jar
    bpm-infra.jar
    bpm-services.jar
    So, these 4 JAR's are required for using the Worklist local API's (not a clue in the dev guide itself for this requirement though...)
    Thank you very much for your help,
    assaf.

  • Accessing Business Graphics using the WebDynpro API

    I would like to access Business Graphics created with IGS using the WebDynpro Business Graphics API.
    I have no problem displaying the graphic in WebDynpro UI, but i have no idea how to access the binary data of the graphic to work with it outside of WebDynpro UI (in fact i want to embed it into a PDF form).
    Is there any possibility to do this using the WebDynpro API?
    I would appreciate your help!
    Regards,
    Christoph

    Thanks, but this al clear to me. I am able to display business graphics on web without problem (I have dynamic Business Graphic in my WebDynpro User Interface).
    The Problem is, that i want to make further processing with the graphic. Therefore i need to access the binary data of the graphic.
    Do you know if there is any possibility to get the binary data of the bmp - image generated by IGS into a byte array?

  • Using the Java API

    Hi everyone,
    I just wanted to see if anyone knows whether I need a license to use the Java API included in the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES.
    I need to include some PDF manipulation code for dynamic XFA forms in an application, and I first read that XPAAJ jar was free. So is the API here also free or do I need a license? If anyone knows, could you please point me in the direction of the details if a license is needed.
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks.
    Mira.

    Mira
    You don't need a license as long as the application you're building is for evaluation or testing, and NOT for production use.
    You will need to purchase a license for production use.
    Licensing can be complex, and you should contact your local Adobe office or enterprise partner for details.
    XPAAJ was never free, it was bundled with other Adobe products.
    It has been deprecated, and is no longer supplied or supported, as far as I'm aware. You will need to purchase a LiveCycle license of some sort.

  • Using the Java API to address a specific instance

    Hi,
    I've created another operation (onRequest) in the client of an async. process.
    <!-- portType implemented by the Exp2 BPEL process -->
    <portType name="Exp2">
    <operation name="initiate">
    <input message="tns:Exp2RequestMessage"/>
    </operation>
    <operation name="onRequest">
    <input message="tns:Exp2onRequestMessage"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>
    I then use this operation in a recieve activity so that I can stall the flow of the instance, and then call it whenever I whant from a RMI client.
    <receive createInstance="no" name="onRequest" partnerLink="client" portType="tns:Exp2" operation="onRequest" variable="inputRequest"/>
    My problem is that, after the creation of one or more instances of this process, how can I send a post message to a specific instance using the Java API?
    I understand that i should use something like...
    deliveryService.post("Exp2", "onRequest", nm );
    but there's nothing to "say" that this post message is to be delivered to the instance with the ID "xx".
    I also know that I need to use correlation on this but I don't know how.
    I would really apreciate some help on this.
    Thanks...

    This is a very good question: here is a code snippet that shows how you can add a conversation id to the NormalizedMessage that you are sending to the delivery service.
    HashMap properties = new HashMap();
    properties.put("conversationId", "yourUniqueKeyHere");
    // construct the normalized message and send to the
    // delivery service
    NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessage( );
    nm.setProperties(properties );
    // The rest is the same
    nm.addPart("XXX" , someElement );
    Please note that you will need to use the conversationId property both with the message you use to initiate the BPEL process and the message you use to perform the onRequest call.
    Please note that if at some point you want to perform any of the 2 calls through the SOAP channel, you can embed he conversationId in the WS-Addressing header within the relateTo element.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to use the crypto api with gemalto cyberflex 32k ?

    Hello ,
    I've done many javacard programs using this method :
    _compilation with javacard kit 2.2.1
    _convertion into ".cap"  with the javacard kit 2.1.2
    All this programs work fine with this method : helloworld, read, write in the card, ....
    But when i want to use the crypto api, i can't charge the program in the card (just by adding 2 lines for generating keys):
    ----------> returns 0x80206A80 (6A80: Wrong data / Incorrect values i data.)
    I think it's because i use the 2.1.2 version , but if i use the 2.2.1 to convert , it's another error and no program work with this method.....even helloworld doesn't work...
    -----------> returns 0x80206985 (6985: Command not allowed - Conditions of use not satisfied.)
    I thing i must change my gpshel command , but i have read many forums but can't find the configuration for my card cyberflex 32k, some people had similar problems so they used the kit 2.1.2 combined with 2.2.1 like me, but i think they can't use the crypto api with this.........
    Any help will be apreciated,
    kind regards

  • Do You Use the TestStand API Reference Poster?

    The TestStand R&D Team would like to know how you use the TestStand API Reference Poster that ships with TestStand.  How often do you use it?  Is it hanging up near your computer?  What tasks do you use it for?

    Hi,
    I dont use the hard copy. I unfolded the it the first time it appeared in version 3.0. Refolded it, put it back in the box and have never bothered with it since.
    I have used the electronic version now again, when I haven't got access to the programmer help doc which you find in the teststand\bin folder.
    I find its use limited, as it only really gives you the relationship between classes and a list of the properties and methods. This you can obtain for the help document.
