Newsstand latest issue missing

I subscribe to Car Magazine, and the latest July issue has not come up within Newsstand as being available for download. My subscription only started in March, and so has not expired. I have tried closing the Newsstand app, switching off the iPad, reinstalling the Car Mag app... Nothing has worked.
Please help!

I've noticed that ô (o with circumflex), for example, shows in iTunes but is not displayed on the Classic.
and best I can recall it was related to a Hôtel Costes album, although now that I look at my iPod (2 firmware updates later) it is displaying correctly. So maybe that's one they've fixed on the way.

They are only free via the account orginally purchased or if they came pre installed on the computer. Depending on what you have purchased already us the one account for the app store - saves headace and hassel in the future thus not double buying software. Do you have iwork installed on your imac? meaning the iwork 09? if you do your should be able to to to the store and update it. Worked fine for me since i bought the DVD version of iwork 09 and Aperture 3. I did not want to have to rebuy them so the app store noticed i had them installed and changed the update via the app store.

Only Return the latest issue of a document

Hi all,
I am trying to work out a script to only return the latest issue of a document. In the example below if I was using the correct statement I would only return the issue 3 records (AAA and AAB)
I am not sure what syntax/operator to use, can anyone help me..

In the email you want to print, on the top right there is an arrow. Click that and an option should appear that says print. That should work. Have you already tried that?

After purchasing the Auto-Renewable subscription, the latest issue did not become available

Hi, I have a problem with my app: After purchasing the Auto-Renewable subscription, the latest issue did not become available for download/reading.
These are the steps I done:
1. I selected one of the options for subscribe
2. Gone through In App Purchase
3. After going through the In App Purchase, app updates the library
4. After updating the library, the latest issue, is not available for download. It still has "Buy" button
The ios certificates seems ok (redone many times), same steps of other 3 apps I already done.
The In-app purchase Product ID are the same in the iTunes Connect and in the app through Viewer Builder (latest version with v19 tools)
In Adobe dashboard the shared secret are set properly, paywall disabled
Somebody had the same problem and can help me? I don't know really what else I can do

Today in iTunes Connect create a new in-app and auto-renewable subscription with a new id, rebuild the app with v20 tools and the new in-app purchase ids, delete the free issue and the in-purchase issue in the adobe dashboard and upload from my original indesign files again (the free with date for pubblication yesterday the other with today date), tested all in the sandbox and... everything works fine, after the subscription purchase the button became "download". I was happy and I sent the new app to Apple again (fourth time) for the approval. After only few hours later Apple start the review (this was amazing because it usually takes at least 5 days). One hour later I receive the "reject" state again

In this case unpublish folio and change publication date manually from folio producer and then republish it.

Newsstand free issue and download fees

We are planning a tablet-only magazine, using the Digital Publishing Suite [Professional edition/Monthly platform subscription fee] with the multi-issue viewer.
In Newsstand, we'd like to offer a free sample issue/partial issue [as Wired, Reader's Digest and National Geographic do] and I just read elsewhere on this forum that Apple actually require that the first issue is free, but this free issue is hosted by Apple, not Adobe.
I'd be grateful if someone could answer/clarify a couple of things about this.
Does this free edition/sample appear inside the Newsstand multi-issue viewer, along with the other paid-for editions?
As this free edition is hosted by Apple, the downloads of it do not count against the Adobe .folio bundle download fee [ie. there are no Adobe download costs for this]
Can unsold .folio files from 10,000 bundles purchased in the Professional Edition Monthly platform be carried-over to the following month/s, ie. they don’t have be used in a particular time-frame

Thanks – yeah, I checked out the Northwest Scenery app, that’s a good workaround (especially the ‘about this app’ page ☺)…If I did go down this route for now (retail subscription app, with a retail issue and a duplicate free issue), would I have to build and submit a new branded viewer, once support for free multi-folio issues is added, or will you be able to change the pricing structure ‘locally’?
Is the support for free multi-folios reliant on Apple in any way –i.e. do they have to approve anything or is it definitely going ahead?

Open GL issue after latest updates: Missing GL version

Having issues with OpenGL after latest updates to OSX and Safari. iTunes will not display cover art and Angry Birds responds glewInit failed: Missing GL version. The is a Mac Pro with 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7.
Anyelse seen this? How is this fixed?

Final chapter in this saga for anyone else who experiences this.......run reparPermissions against your disks prior to upgrading. After having to rebuild the boot disk a couple of times and upgrade, had no problems with 10.7.4 but would always get Missing GL Version after Safari update. Ran DiskUtil and repaired permissions prior to Safari update and finally got it to pdate without causing GL issue.
Still working on how to not need to delete my previous backups when rebuilding machine (apparently TimeMachine always tries to create a new back sparse folder and thus may waste original space from your previous backups).

I managed to solve the issue commenting the --indirect-rendering flag and installing and launching driconf to create a default ~/.drirc file.
I just noticed that in the same upgrade I got intel-dri from 8.x to 9.x version, maybe it's related.
Launching a terminal in .xinitrc and manually launching
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose compiz --debug --replace ccp
show me a lot of errors, but it's working, and I don't need anymore the --indirect-rendering flag (in the past I put that flag in the command because of the bad performance that compiz had without).

Newsstand update issues?

I have seen this question a number of times from a while back but have not seen any solution. I have an iPhone 5 and an iPad (latest gen). I also have Newsstand with New York Times, The Economist, Time Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal. It seems like the automatic update feature never works? In settings under the Newsstand App I have everything checked to sync automatically. But when I get to work, if I have no cell coverage, I go to pull up say The Wall Street Journal and it hasn't updated? Is there some trick to get automatic updates to work?

Me too. Because of other issues with ios 7 (the "connect to itunes to use push notifications" bug) I backed up to ICloud, did a complete reset, and then restored from the backup. All of my magazine apps showed up but all of my back issues and current subscription info are gone, as if I was a totally new customer. All Conde Nast apps: New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and W. Sent a note to New Yorker via the app asking for help.

The latest issue of Pages for iPad: 1. Very slow. 2. Late in reacting to typing. 3. When I go to a specific file, informs me that some images were deleted and therefore file has been changed. Then when OPEN option used, opens file slowly. Please, help!

What I have to do to correct the following problems with Pages app. For iPad:
Hesitates to display results of typing, some times for 5-6 characters;
Very slow in opening files;
Before opening of a specific file displays message: DOCUMENT DETAILS. SOME CHANGES WERE MADE TO YOUR DOCUMENT. SOME IMAGES ARE MISSING BECAUSE THEY WERE DELETED FROM YOUR DOCUMENT. We'll, nothing is missing. But it takes forever to open this file. The previous issue of Pages worked very good. But they would not let me to go back to it. Please, help!

I see you said You paid for shipping, did you Insure it? Claim insurance on it. If you did not, It may not be Verizon or your fault in the sense of the phone not making it to the warehouse. There are people out in the postal world that will steal phones that are not insured. It could have been a Verizon employee, i suppose.
But, if this was to be a bought in court, if you shipped it with out insurance, sadly your at fault.
Do you still have the Serial number of your old phone? If so, you should be able to track where your phone is (if it is reported as a defect/damaged) If so, you may be able to use that as proof. If it does not show up as a defect or what ever they determine use as a loss, then you know it did not make it to the warehouse to be checked in. I would suspect Apple or Verizon could tell you what the Serial number came up as.

LR 4.4 Import Issues - Missed a Cure?

Hello Everyone,
Since upgrading to 4.4, I have experienced a number of new issues. 4.3 was solid as a rock in comparison. 4.4 is causing me to need to manually terminate and/or restart the application numerous times daily, sometimes numerous times hourly. It clearly needed more bake time.
I am posting this thread because, after reading numerous similar posts (I find I'm hardly alone) and hundreds of responses, it is not clear to me there are any solid solutions. If there are, and I missed them, I am hoping someone will simply point me toward the appropriate URL.
My primary issue surrounds Import.
The Import function has been repeatedly (not just once or twice, but interiminably):
Hanging, becoming unresponsive after telling it to execute the Import. This is frequently noticed immediately, at file #1.
Incredibly slow, eventually grinding to a halt after a handful of files.
Sources are dropped. Initially all sources are listed. Then, especially with sources (e.g. card reader, smartphone) having > 100 files, the source simply is removed from the listing. You can toggle the arrow on other sources (e.g. to expand file folders), but nothing happens other than the arrow toggling up/down.
Only solution, restart (frequently requiring manual process termination) and try again. I have seen discussions regarding smartphones. It was never an issue with 4.3. With 4.4, my iPhone 4S will populate the preview grid, but after about 2 minutes, it disappears and the grid goes blank.
Importing large number of files (regardless of source) will populate the grid but frequently have the exclamation mark with a number of the preview images. Only solution I've found, delete effected files from catalog, then reimport.
Modifying import settings, such as my copyright or related info, will terminate LR altogether, about 30% of the time. This happened to a number of us at a LR training class this past weekend (different machines, OSes).
Importing 764 JPG from my iPhone (while writing this) has been going about :30 and is 1/3 (indicated) complete. We're at the point of about 1 image imported ever ~5 seconds, reinforced by the entire grid object being refreshed each time. I would consider importing a handful of files at a time, but if I do much more than select the iPhone as source and hit Import as soon as the grid populates, the source is lost, and everything starts over.
One instance of an 'insufficient memory' error.
There are other niggling issues but Import is a major mess. From what I've read (and, again, I see I'm not alone), these issues are common for both Windows and Mac, newer PCs and older, and in all manner of mixed environments.
My own situation is a Windows 7 Ultimate, Dell E6400, 4GB RAM, LR 4.4. In all cases I am reading my cards via the built-in card readers. Primary cameras are a Canon SX260 (JPG only) and Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D shooting (almost always) RAW (.MRW). My content is solely pictures, no video.
With regard to the smartphone discussion, I have experienced these problems with the laptop docked, undocked, with or without smartphone attached.
The only relief I have found is, when working with a memory card having >100 images (not many, in the grand scheme), to copy files to a local hard drive, then import from there. The impression I have, is that the speed allows quicker execution, getting ahead of any resource contention issues. Purely a gut feel thing based on observed behavior. Nonetheless importing from HD rather than SD does work better.
Clearly 4.4's Import has issues. Any word of a service patch or 4.5?

Uninstall 4.4 and re-install 4.3 is the normal process for downgrading.
Others don't necessarily have the problems you're seeing, so to me it's less likely a fundamental flaw of LR 4.4 that wasn't tested well enough, and more likely a hardware or driver issues that LR 4.4 is bringing to light.
It may be that LR 4.4 is using different USB libraries or different OS-level functions to interact with the removable devices, perhaps to resolve other issues reported in previous versions, so something working differently wouldn't be unexpected. It is less expected that whatever LR 4.4 is doing would cause problems on a particular computer, though. It might be wise to figure out what is wrong on your system when LR 4.4 is in use, but obviously you also need to have a functioning workflow as well.
For experimentation, I think it is possible to have both LR 4.3 and LR 4.4 installed at the same time, if your rename the LR 4.4 program folder to something completely different before doing the install for LR 4.3, and then rename it back when you're done.
You also might want to try the beta for Lightroom 5 at Adobe Labs http://labs.adobe.com/ to see if it works any better and report any issues to the LR5-beta specific discussion forum (not here).

Latest issue does not appear in the multi issue app on ipad3

as i updated to v20, the latest created folio does not appear on ipad3, but there seems to be no problem with ipad 1 & 2.

X60T Driver issues/missing

Hi, I thought I'd better join up as I've scanned through many similar issues on the site & none seem the same as my or have any useful tips.
A couple of weeks ago my HDD destroyed itself so I had to install WinXP from scratch
I also have SP2 & 3 installed.
I Dloaded all of the drivers I thought I would need from Lenovo Driver Support page & installed them
So, my Standby doesn't work & neither does the Audio (I get system sounds but no actual Audio). I have tried to install the WiFi Net driver & that doesn't appear to work either
Also in Device Manager it's saying I have 6 drivers missing which are - Network Controller, PCI Device, Unknown Device, Video Controller & Video Controller (VGA) - how many drivers do these **bleep** things require???
Video controller is installed already

Sorry you're having problems with this.
SP3 isn't just for Office. MS Windows Update should give you a download update for SP3. Don't do the standalone update as that's for developers. Windows Update should give you a smaller version to install. I don't think TVSU will run without it.

Issues Missing files & duplicate files and not enough screen space

Hello everyone,
I'm using a 1.67 Ghz 15 in tibook with 1 gig of ram
I had issue yesterday, missing files, I was in the rating/keywords panel scrolling through my images, one was a bit soft so I deleted it using the command delete combo. Somehow all of the images in the project disappeared. They hadn't been moved to the trash, I looked, and looked and looked, I couldn't find them using a search, and it should have been easy, they were the first images that had been imported into Aperture.
So since I had copied the 70 files to my hardrive first I re-imported them. Couldn't see those either.
Deleted the project and re-imported again, worked fine, and I couldn't reproduce the problem.
When I went to export five images, (all the images had been re-named with a sequential suffix, Smith_01, Smith_02, Smith_03...), to my desktop so I could copy to our server, I remembered that I needed to update a caption on one image. (Could that caption box be any smaller?), anyway I exported again, I meant to only export the individual image but exported all five again. Instead of telling me there were duplicate files on the desktop it increased the sequential number of each duplicate file by 1. So now instead of one file of Smith_01, Smith _08, Smith 33, etc, I have the original and the Smith_01 file now has a matching image slugged Smith_02 on the desktop as well, along with all the others that had a match with a suffix one digit higher. And of course back in the project there is a Smith_02 that is different..
If I were to copy different files with the same name to other folders or our archive server one of those images could be easily discarded or copied over by the file with the duplicate name.
And lastly, when importing I tried to rename my files and add a generic caption, I imported the same images a few times, the first time I couldn't scroll down to see the caption box and metadata, the second time I could see the scroll and add the metadata below. The third time I couldn't scroll down. Very Wierd!
And lastly, is there any way to show just the adjustments or just the metadata boxes on the Adjustments & Filters layout? The boxes are so small already I'd like to be able to at least use the whole side of the screen for one box. I'd really like to be able to put them where I want them. The adjustment HUD works this way on a full screen but I want to get rid of the strip of thumbnails in the full screen and just have the HUD and the image, nothing else.
Any insights would be great.

I think they were in the trash - as far as I know search does not work within the trash itself.
Nope not in the trash, that's the first place I looked, I also found that deleting a project is the fastest way to export the masters. Just pull them out of the trash can
They should have been moved to the trash folder, inside an Aperture directory, and then from there inside of a folder with the name of the project the image was in.
Alternatley (and I'm not sure how this migh thave happened) they may have been marked as "rejected". All views have a default search >>criteria that starts with "unrated or higher" but rejected photos are lower than this and are not seen. By default there is a smart folder at the >>top of your library that shows Unrated pictures, you might check to see if they are there.
I'll double check the shortcut for rejects, this is the only plausible explanation, but it doesn't explain why the second import of images couldn't be found either.

Yes, Aperure will refuse to overwrite any file ever - and will always add those other numbers if it encounters a file with the same name as the one it is trying to generate!
I agree that this is a good thing, but there should be an alert of some kind if you have a duplicate. The finder certainly tells you if you are trying to copy a duplicate file to the same location. Adding an increment of one to the sequential suffix without an alert is very poor planning. On deadline trying to get files into our system I could have easily overlooked the duplicates and overwritten other files with the same name.
The only way to work around that is either to delete all files from the directory before you export from Aperture, or to export to an empty directory and copy them over yourself.
The work around is easily figured out, but like some other things I shouldn't have to work around it.

Well, another option there would be to drag the divider between the metadata and the adjustments all the way up (as much as you can >>anyway, the histogram will still be visible).
That would be wonderful, but I'm on a 15 in ti book and there isn't enough space to do that. The divider show up but you can't move it. Ideally you should be able to just view the metadata or just the adjustments if you so choose. Binding them together is stupid, if I'm making adjustments, I don't care what is happening in the metadata screen and when I'm adding captions and changing metadata I don't need to see the adjustments screen. Give me a metadata template like the IPTC screen in Photomechanic that I can save and apply and put it on the screen where I want it.
Then to see adjustments just use the adjustment HUD - key "H" to bring up or dismiss. It will stay where you put it when you make it go >>away and come back and you can have it whereever you like on the screen unlike the inspector.
I'd love to do that but it can't be done on a 15 in laptop screen.
For maximum space value, you could arrange the Adjustments HUD to exactly overlay the space where the Inspector is - then you can press >>"I" to make the inspector come and go, and "H" for the Adjustments Hud all in the same space.
For maximum space on adjustments I'm using the full screen with the HUD. At least I can then move the HUD where I want it to be, not anchored on the right side.
In general look over the keyboard shortcuts as there are a lot of keys to make panels come up and go away quickly (one key, no modifiers) >>which really helps to maximize use of screen space.
I'm still learning them and I'm sure that will help, but the adjustments panel and the metadata panel have to be changed to make it more usable on a laptop in my opinion. Maybe it's fine on a large monitor, I wouldn't know as I can't load it on my G5 desktop without a hack. And so far I'd rather use Photomechanic for sorting and captioning it's much much faster for newspaper work.
