  • No app reviews in iTunes??

I am using 64 bit version of iTunes 10 under windows 7. There are no app reviews, stars, etc in the app store for any of the apps. Can anyone shed light as to why ?

I asked apple support about this yesterday, and here is their reply:
+After reading your email, it is my understanding that you can no longer see reviews for apps in iTunes. My name is Ray, and I can certainly appreciate your desire to see the reviews for apps again, so I will gladly assist you.+
+I also see that reviews for apps are no longer showing up in the iTunes program. I do however see that you can still see the reviews in the App Store on your device. I would like to take this time to suggest that you submit feedback to try to get the reviews back into the iTunes program (I will also submit this feedback). I encourage you to use the iTunes Feedback page to submit your comments:+

+Thank you for being a valued member of the Apple family, Jay. Your efforts to share your feedback are very much appreciated. I welcome your reply if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a fantastic day.+
    Sincerely,

But they are back now, in any case.

  • I can no longer leave an app review in the iTunes store

I can no longer leave an app review in the iTunes store.
After I sign in, and want to leave a review I get the following message: "You must own this item to write a Customer Review. In order to write a Customer Review for this item you must have purchased or downloaded it."
I used to be able to write and edit my reviews which I have done! But now I can't anymore even though I have bought and/or downloaded several apps. iTunes won't let me write a review anyway.
    Any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem (for Mac and iPhone apps) and contacted Apple about this.
The English speaking support said it is a known error and that they are working on a solution. The German support however (which I contacted first, unfortunately) gave me a refund of the apps I wrote them as an example. They told me I should buy them again – which is not possible, since the MacAppStore then gives the message "You have already purchased this app..." Ironically, for one of the two apps I was finally able to write a review, even at this point it wasn't listed in the purchased apps list anymore.
I've never asked for a refund, and it's causing me more trouble than I had before: now I cannot update these refunded apps anymore (since they are not listed in the "Purchased" list). So I have to check manually if there is a new update (comparing version numbers) and then delete the app and "purchase" it again. Of course I would simply buy the apps from the developer directly, however, they are MacAppStore only.
When I asked the AppStore support about a solution for this problem, they said it's technically not possible to write reviews for refunded apps (? yes, of course they were not really reading what I wrote them. I guess support at Apple is done by Siri now) and gave 10 free iTunes songs.
I think reviews are very important for both customers and developers and it's not just a minor inconvenience, but a serious problem; what is especially disturbing, is that it's not the same for all apps: for Pixelmator, I had no problems to post a review, for Jumsoft's "Relationship" it doesn't work, for some apps it worked immediately, for some after a few weeks, for some never.

  • ITunes app reviews loaded with SPAM, no way to report

I've noticed lately that many recent app reviews are simply spam messages for "Free iTunes Giftcards."  Whenever I fill out the "Report a Concern" form and then click the "Submit" button, nothing happens.  It won't submit the report.
What is Apple doing to stop these fake "reviews?"  How are we supposed to report them if Apple has disabled their "Submit" button?

Here are several apps targeted by just one person, all done today:
    Google Search
    Bump
    Groupon
    eBay
    Apple Store
    QR Read for iPhone
    Temple Run
    Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift
    The Weather Channel
    Facebook
    Pandora Radio
    Twitter
    Solitaire
    Pocket God
    Zombie Highway
    360 Panorama
    Asphalt 6: Adrenaline
    Nike+ GPS
    Alarm Clock Pro
    Flashlight
    Tuneln Radio Pro
Doodle Jump - BE WARNED: Insanely Addictive!
    Cut the Rope: Experiments
    MotionX GPS Drive
There are just the first few of the apps, there are dozens more from this one account.  All of the reviews read "Free $10 iTunes gift card!"
In the Bejeweled 2 + Blitz reviews, the three most recent ones are "Free $10 iTunes gift card," "Free $10.00 iTunes Giftcard," and "FREE MONEY" -- all from different persons, and all posted while I was typing this reply.

  • ITunes 64-Bit stopped working on Windows 7

After having my Laptop stolen I got a new HP with Windows 7 64-Bit. Installed iTunes 64-Bit and for the first 5 days it worked. Then iTunes wouldn't launch. Un-installed and used RegEdit to remove all traces, then re-installed to no avail. I'm in the habit of keeping Task Manager(TM) open at all times and I noticed that after trying to launch iTunes with no user interface showing or showing in the application tab of TM, that the iTunes executable is running under the processes tab. The problem is that I know iTunes should be a little over 100 meg in size, but it shows it as about 17 to 20 meg. I was also curious as to why the ITunes app appears with a space then *32.
Does anyone know what's going on.
BTW- Even though I could have sworn I disabled the automatic installing of updates, some did install and now I can't get any Restore Points to load.
    HELP!!!

I'm in the habit of keeping Task Manager(TM) open at all times and I noticed that after trying to launch iTunes with no user interface showing or showing in the application tab of TM, that the iTunes executable is running under the processes tab.
Some questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits.
    (1) Does your QuickTime Player launch, or do you get an error message of some kind when you try to launch that? If you do get an error message from the QuickTime Player (or it silently fails to launch too), by any chance have you installed a copy of the ACE Mega Codec Pack, or WinAVI converter, or any other such package that might have installed old QuickTime version 6.x componentry on the PC?
    (2) Try (by way of experiment) disabling the BonJour Service.
In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?
If iTunes launches with the BonJour Service disabled, by any chance do you have a recent version of IOBit's Advanced SystemCare utility installed on the PC? If you do have ASC installed, try uninstalling and reinstalling ASC. Does iTunes launch without the BonJour Service having to be disabled, now?

  • Has anyone else managed to speak to a human being in the App Review team

I have had my app rejected twice on the basis that they think all the functionality can be incorporated in an epub format even though the epub format explicitly can't support what my app does. But every time I try and contact the team, it is only allowed via email (with very long waits for responses) and I just a standard script response, e.g
"2.21: Apps that are simply a song or movie should be submitted to the iTunes store. Apps that are simply a book should be submitted to the iBookstore".
Even when I appealed I just got the same script back and I keep being told that I can't talk to a human being.
Has anyone actually managed to speak to a member of staff in the App Review Team and could you give me some advice as to how I can do this. The process has been dragging on and all I need is a 10-minute discussion with a human being,
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Thanks KT.
I did get a phone call after a few days and it did end up as a useful conversation.
I do think though that there should be contact numbers so that developers can actually ring a named individual in the App Review Team. I was really surprised that the Apple switchboard said that they were unable to connect incoming callers to specific teams or members of staff. As a Customer Service experience it seems pretty poor.
Anyway, the member of staff in the Review Team was helpful and we are making some of the suggested changes and resubmitting the App.
In terms of ePub functionality, it actually can't do everything the App can do as there is no way within an ePub of changing navigation based on whether you are using an iPhone or iPad. There are a lot of things you can do (in fact you can build an HTML5 app within an ePub if you want) but whether an ePub format is appropriate for all the things you can do is another matter. That is a discussion for another day ...

  • Apps within iTunes on my Mac?

I've noticed that I have used quite a bit of space recently on my Mac.
I downloaded about 200 apps within iTunes and I'm not sure if I needed to.
The apps are downloaded on my iPhone and iPads and I don't use them on my Mac.
Therefore, presumably, I dont need them also downloaded on my Mac and can therefore delete them? (if so, how?)
    Thank you.

If they are within iTunes on your Mac... leave them there as they are your Backups.
If you Delete them from the Mac and need to Restore your iDevices then you will have to Re-download the Apps.

  • Update all apps on iTunes on my laptop won't update

    28Jun2014
I have a laptop that I usually keep shutdown until I go travel.   I use iTunes for Macintosh, version 11.2.2 (3), 64 bits for both computers.
I have a desk top computer at home that is networked with the laptop through the finder and I transfer music and newly acquired apps using iTunes.
When I have the App Library open, and the Update tab set, I see that I have 200 apps to be updated.   When I selected UPDATE ALL, my laptop starts downloading apps. When the downloads are done, I see that the same apps are in the Update All window.
My internet provider warned me that I have downloaded too many Gigabites.   My internet bill is large enough, I don't want to keep downloading the same app updates and still have the apps un-updated.   I also don't want my ISP to charge me for over use.
What can I do to update the apps on my laptop.
Also, In order to keep the downloads to a minimum, I'd rather just update my desktop then transfer the updated apps to the laptop from the desktop.  Is that possible.   I want the laptop to mirror the desktop with regards to music, podcasts and apps as much as possible.
Why won't my laptop update apps?
Thank you for your help with this.

I took it to a ohone shop today and they're going to try and fix the phone without altering the memory, but apparently that's quite hard to do with IPhones
That will void any support from Apple. If you take the device to an Apple store you would be able to get an out of warranty replacement. A third party shop may make things worse and end up costing you more. Apple does not sell parts so all the third party shop will be able to use are parts from damaged or stolen devices. If the third party shop cannot fix the device you will have to pay full price for a replacement phone rather than the discounted price from Apple.

  • Nickname NOT shown with app reviews.

I know this has been asked before but all the solutions are months old and pertain to when Ping was relevant with older verions on iTunes.
To start off, I have iTunes 10.7, on ML 10.8.2
I have disabled the Ping option (which for some reason still exists in Preferences -> Parental) within the iTunes app.
There are NO further options within your account settings for anything to do with Ping.
Having done all this, whenever I post a review, it is still showing my full name not my nickname.
Trying to edit my nickname has no effect.
Editing an existing review and reposting still results in my full name, not my nickname showing .
All results via google have a solution >1 year old, involving turning Ping off, but this is no longer the case with iTunes 10.7...
...so can someone please tell me how to revert back to my nickname alone in reviews and switch all reviews with my full name back to nicknamed ones?
    Thanks or any help.

Looks iTunes app 10.7 is still looking at the old & dead Ping DB? I need to post an app review but i had deleted my post just because of this :-(

  • Moving apps in iTunes after 7.0.2 update

I just updated my iPhone 4S to 7.0.2. Now I can't seem to reorganize my apps within iTunes. I used to be able to move the icons around on my screens when I connect my phone to my laptop. Now those screens seem to be screenshots ~ I can't move the icons around, I can only move the entire screens. I don't want to move apps on the phone itself ~ I have 7 screens and it's too cumbersome on the phone. Can anyone help?

It's not real user friendly.  Go into the Apps tab at the top of ITunes when your phone is plugged in.  Double left click in the page (screen) that you wish to make changes.  The "page" becomes larger.  At this point you can drag your icons around your phone.  I found it a bit clumsy at first but after 10 or so moves it became easier.

  • Why can't I view iOS apps in iTunes anymore?

I recently changed the password for my Apple ID. Since changing the password I have been unable to view my downloaded apps from within iTunes; I don't even have apps as an option on the left side of the screen. There does not appear to be any problems with syncing apps or using them on my iPod Touch. I have tried reinstalling the latest 64-bit version of iTures; that did not fix this problem.
Any ideas on how to view my apps in iTunes again?

In Edit > Preferences is Apps ticked on the General tab ?

  • Apps in iTunes NOT updating

I have a large library of apps in itunes, not all of which are installed on my iPhone or iPad. When I open iTunes, and check my apps section, I have 204 apps that need updating. I have no problems updating apps on my mobile devices, but iTunes will not update the apps. I am prompted with the message "The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later." This has been happening for quite sometime. I can still purchase apps, music, and other media through iTunes no problem, so clearly the store is available. All of my software is up to date, FYI. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • HT1338 App Store / iTunes language - forced for location, want English

Mountain Lion needs to be purchased via App Store, which forces you to use the local one for your country. Fair enough, could manage to do so, but after installing, App Store itself has now local languge GUI (Dutch), when I keep everything otherwise in English. Same goes for iTunes - GUI in Dutch when I want it in English. Darn!
Most annoying... I really hate mixing languages in my system - and so far been able to keep all neatly in English only.
Any clue if there's a way to change the GUI of App Store / iTunes to English - even if they then hook with the local selection of available stuff anyhow? I'm really not annoyed by forced local selections with both applications, only about the interface language itself.
Thanks for any tips in advance,
    AmsterMac

Are you referring to the Customer Reviews? iTunes doesn't distinguish which language is used by the customer in writing the review so it can't filter out those you don't want to see. In fact someone could write one review and use many languages in it, but it seems those that speak German are the most vocal in the Swiss store.
This is also a user forum. Responses are from other users of Apple products. It is mainly for other users helping you with a problem that they can fix. If you want to give feedback to Apple select Provide iTunes Feedback from the iTunes menu from within the iTunes application.
