No app (shortcut) in configure software step

Question

The app installation created a shortcut on the Desktop (see screenshot).
Before clicking "I finish..." the app was launched and I did click multiple objects in it.
What could be the reason that there are no apps listed in Configure Software screen?
The app works in browser (in sequencer I use the required version).
The app is installed from msi (55MB).

So, for the .cpl 'application':
try to figure out where the .cpl file is located.
In the above window, browse to c:\windows\system32 and select control.exe. 
add the path to the CPL file as a parameter to the command line (c:\windows\system32.control.exe "c:\windows\system32\MySuperApplet.cpl"
Change the icon (*)
Adjust name and version
[Add]
This should create a new entry in the 'applications' list. When you then expand the '+' you should be able to adjust the shortcut location (Desktop)
(*) You might be required to extract the icon first using a tool like Icon_Extractor from http://www.nirsoft.net (not sure if it can deal with .cpl files)
Control.exe can be used to launch .cpl applications from a command line, so it should be good.
To launch the app, you should create another shortcut.
use "c:\program files (x86)\internete explorer\iexplore.exe" "http://server_name/explore.asp" [as we did with control.exe and the .cpl before). You might need to play around with "" a little. Adjust Icon, name, version
For troubleshooting I'd place a shortcut to that app on the desktop (or a start menu), too. For production it might not be ncessary to have an explicit shortcut location (as App-V 5 uses 'dynmic virtualization' and could inject any IE instance). So you'd
have to have an application entry in the above screenshot, but may not need to have a 'shortcut' location selected underneath of it
