No audio on some clips

Hi
I am a cameraman and am creating a showreel for myself on dvd. A lot of the material I have originates on dvd that clients send to me of my work edited. I then use a programme called "cinematise" to rip these dvd's into quick time files.
When I preview my created dvd in idvd everything seems fine but when i burn to disc all the audio is lost on certain clips. I have looked at the audio properties of these clips in quicktime and it says they are Mpeg 1.
I also have another clip that has the audio on it when played back on my computer but the audio is lost when played in my dvd player. Please could someone help as I am tearing my hair out!!! and lots of dvd's are going in the bin.

Having had a similar problem - added sound files, layed ontop of camera video, plays fine on burned DVD, but camera audio goes out and never comes back.
After reading for several hours on iDVD 4 & 5, there appears to be no clear answers, Apple has not posted any solutions & the only canidate that might work - need to try it myself tonight, is to record back to a MiniDV camera at 16 bit sound, start a new iMovie project & redownload the video to the computer with 16 bit audio. I'll try to get back and let you know if it works for me.
For some reason, people are saying that 12 bit audio tends to cause problems - some of your client video clips might have been in 12 bit audio and is only showing up now with these versions software.
Hope this helps,
Terry

  • Rendering audio of some clips distorted

I have an older project from last year imported by an older version of iMovie. I imported those clips into FCE and things are looking fine. It had to render the audio and my sequence was complete..., until I spot checked some sections of it.
Two of the longer clips (about 4 minutes each) start off fine, but about 2-3 minutes into the clip the audio is scrambled. I can still hear the original audio, but other audio from the same clip is being superimposed at repeating intervals with that changing every few seconds. Regardless, the audio track is destroyed.
If I go back to the original source clip and play in viewer, it's perfect from end to end. The only way I could get around one of them was to break it up into sub-clips and it seemed to work OK then. Haven't gotten to the other clip yet that's messed up.
Is there a known problem with rendering audio in FCE? Source clips were from a DV camera imported via firewire.

Well I think I have found the solution!
I have previously tried deleting the audio render folder (documents:final cut express documents: audio render files:your project:) with some success. Final Cut Express will ask to reconnect these files, just ignore and click 'continue'. However, this did not solve the problem for my current project.
This time I tried deleting not only all of the audio render files, but also the waveform cache files (documents:final cut express documents: waveform cache files:). This folder contains files from ALL of your projects, so only delete the files whose names begin with the names of audio or video capture files from the current project. ie. I only deleted files called 'Assembly00001kgwv', 'Assembly00002kgwv', because when I captured from my camera, I named the capture files 'Assembly'.
Once you have deleted all of these waveform cache and audio render files (it will not ask to reconnect with the cache files), you should be able to re-render your entire project with no problem.
I have re-rendered an hour and twenty minutes and after briefly looking over the whole thing, there seems to be no problem. I do not know what the problem was, and I am not an expert so I won't take any guesses, but the solution seems to work for me, so I hope that helps!

  • IMovie Loses Audio and some clips are out of focus!!!

When I import my footage into iMovie, it loses it's Audio, and becomes blurry on certain clips. Anyone help?

Help!! working on a movie on Imovie. I had to delete a music file from a clip section and now there are some clips that have no audio!!! don't know how to get the audio back to my clips!!!! Help!!!

You can use some third party software to copy the music from your old iPod back to computer first, and then import the music into iTunes and re-sync them to yournew iPod. Here is a guide about how to transfer iPod music to computer. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • No Audio on some HD clips?

I imported a bunch of HVCPROHD rez clips @ 23.98 into a bin in Final Cut HD 4.5. All the clips have audio but only some of them play audio in final cut. They all show up as V1 A1 in the bin directory. I went back to the original quictime files and all the audio plays fine there. Any ideas why some clips would play audio and other won't?

Thanks again for the reply. Sorry for bumping the threads up. Working on a timeline and debugging a new system is frustrating to say the least...
To answer your notes, I have tried everything I can think of to resolve the problem. I am now lip synching with no audio to keep working.
-Were the problem files all from the same tape or different ones?
    ALL FROM THE SAME TAPES.
-Have you tried re-exporting the problem files from the original files?
NO, ORIGINALS ARE 3 HOURS SOUTH OF HERE.
-Have you tried creating a new project and/or sequence and reimporting the files into FCP. YES. NEW PROGRAM, NEW BIN, NEW SEQUENCE, NO LUCK.
-Have you tried taking the material off line?
YES. DID A RELINK MEDIA TO NO AVAIL.
-When you say no audio, do the meters move but you don't hear it or the meters don't move?
METERS DO NOT MOVE AT ALL.
-Have you used FCP Rescue to trash FCP preferences?
NO, HOW DO I DO THAT?
-Have you tried the files on another computer running FCP?
I HAVE TRIED THE QUICKTIMES ON ANOTHER MACHINE AND THEY WORK FINE. DON'T HAVE ANOTHER FC SYSTEM TO TEST THE IMPORT PROBLEM WITH.
-Was the system that captured and exported the files running a different version of FCP than the one you are currently running?
NOT SURE BUT I WILL ASK THAT TOMORROW.
Here's the weird part. All the media was captured the same way from the same source. All of it works perfect if I open them individually in Quicktime. Once imported into FCPro, only certain clips play the audio. All clips show V1, A1. and a 48k sample rate in the bin info. I can't understand why some clips play audio and others do not. I even looked at the file sizes and there is no pattern as there are larger files that play and smaller ones that don't and vis versa. Thoughts?

  • Interrupted audio extraction, now audio LOST on some clips!

I was extracting audio from several clips. As it was running I realized I did not need to extract from all the clips, only one. Since extracting audio takes SO LONG, I pressed the CANCEL button during extraction. Now some of the clips had already extracted and those are fine (with extracted audio) but the remaining clips which did not extract now have NO AUDIO at all. HELP!!!! I need to recover the lost audio without losing the hours I already spent editing and arranging clips.

    Hi n
    Are You sure.
If advanced user and really know this, then You need to:
    • delete iMovie pref file
    • Repair premissions - Apple Disk Util tool
    • Repair Hard disk - Apple Disk Util tool - You need to start from CD/DVD or external hard disk to do this.
If not so sure or a beginner:
    • When Extracting audio the original sound is not moved from Your Clip only silenced. If You turn on
audio adjustment "rubber-band" then You just increas the audio of Your clip to 100% ant ther it is.
Last point is my main bet.
iMovie is a non-destructive movie editor. That's why Your sound should be with Your clip and just
    silenced after extracting.

  • Avchd-  on some clips, audio plays- then stops.

I'm importing AVCHD files with 5.1 audio, and when I playback, they play just fine, but some files, the audio will just drop out in the middle of the clip, and I get no audio on that clip from that point forward.
If I play the clip back in another program, there is audio throughout and no problems.  If I expand the 5.1 audio track, I can see the wave form, it's just fine.  I have allowed premiere to "conform audio" on all the clips before opening in the source monitor.
The audio drops out whether they are being viewed on the source monitor or from the timeline.  Once the audio drops, it ALWAYS drops at the same point for any given clip.  Even if I delete the clip and re-import it, it will still drop in the same spot.
    Any ideas?

I have figured out what causes this and how to avoid it.
For me it happens consistenly if I start working with the project while video assets are still loading.
    Specifically,
If I load a project and try to edit my sequence while the status message in the bottom left of the screen still indicate videos are being loaded, etc. I can almost garantee some clips will have sound drop outs and others will have frames out of order. Even after everything claims to have loaded.
The lesson here? Don't trust the loading dialog. Just because it dissappeared and the workspace looks ready for you to interact with does not mean premiere has finished loading the project!
It can also happen if I import a bunch of clips into my timeline and try adding them to a sequence or playing them in the source window before they'd been fully loaded.
Wait patiently for everything to load and don't start working until you see a message in the lower left hand corner that says "All Media Loaded" only then is it really safe to begin working.
    That's been my experience anyway.
    Hope this helps.

  • No audio in video clip in slideshow

How do I get the audio associated with a video clip to play in iPhoto? I have several clips taken on a digital camera--with audio--and have them imported into iPhoto. When I make a slideshow incorporating one or more of them, they play fine but with none of their own audio. How do I get their audio tracks to play in the slideshow? If I double click on any of the video clips separately before making a slideshow it opens Quicktime and plays the video and audio OK.

I am using iLife 2009 and do get audio clip associated with Video however it does seem to have some issues. Clips from one of my cameras (Sony - in avi format) work fine .. I can even choose an iTunes track or playlist and iPhoto blends the two.
However, I can not seem to get audio associated with clips from one of my other cameras - JVC (.MOD format converted to MPEG4).
The clips do have audio when played by itself in iPhoto however when I go to slide show mode, the audio disappears.
Still trying to troubleshoot ... will post if I am successful.

  • Effects and key-frames not working on some clips Premiere CC 2014

Hi. I am having an issue where effects and key frames applied to both audio and video are not working, but only sometimes. Even after I render or export the video, the effects are not showing up. For example, trying to adjust volume using key-frames on some clips works fine, and not at all on others. The key-frames show up and I can see the volume changing in the effects panel, but it is not happening. Another example is changing the opacity on some video clips and it does not work sometimes. Same thing, I can see the key-frames and the values changing, but it's not actually happening. I have uninstalled and re-installed premiere pro and media encoder with no luck. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Nvidia drivers with no luck. Just to restate, this only happens on some clips and rendering or exporting the video does not help. My computer specs are:
    MSI GT60 Laptop:
    Intel Core i7 4800MQ (2.70GHz)
    16GB Memory 1TB HDD 128GB SSD
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M 8GB
    2880 x 1620 16:9 3K Display
    Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Here is the exact screenshot.  Now I'm also trying other effects as stated in my original post.  But this effect is just an example.  Is there really something that I'm doing wrong here?  Or am I forgetting something?  Is there some special "adobe doesn't let keyframes work on mpg's" rule or something silly like that?
I wish that I could post a video, but I don't know how.
Please let me know what I need to do to make this work properly.

  • Extracting audio from many clips at a time

I have to extract some audio from many many video clips, so I was attempting to do it in one step, but Logic extract only from one clip at a time
So I'm thinking to use Audio Converter (it can extract audio from many clips in one step), but it ask me the AIFF encoding Bitrate (among 64 and 192 kbps). So I'm wondering... but Logic which AIFF bitrate manages???

yes, it is possible. Infact, it is the normal practice to add those 10 roles to that single user in SU01 direclty.
and as I said, user comparison should be scheduled normally in SAP system landscape to do the things automatically, however not immediately but after some time.

If you want user comparison immediately, then you need to do it manually in the role.

  • Disturbed Audio with long clips and speed changes.

    Hello,
    I experienced a strange problem in FinalCut Pro (v 6 and 7).
-I capture a clip with a Blackmagic Decklink or a DVS Pronto as Uncompressed Quicktime, 720p50 via HD-SDI with embedded audio. The clip is about 10 minutes long.
-I speed down the clip at 36% by changing the clip's speed in the sequence.
When I render the audio track, I get completely distorted audio after some minutes until the clip's end.
The problem doesn't seem to occur when I put the clip in a sequence and nest that sequence into a second one and change the nested sequence's speed.
Is that a known bug? Did anyone out there experience the same problem? Is there any technical explanation and solution?

Both Picture Safe and Title Safe are guidelines. They were developed to ensure that titles and pictures placed within these guides would be viewable on most televisions.
In the same way that no two tv's will look the same with regard to colour, there can also be a great difference in overall picture placement on the screen. Keeping titles within the safe area will help ensure that even the most poorly calibrated set will still show the entire title.
You can't convert the MP4s because you do not own the right to use them.
As for the MP3's, time to do some work and look it up. The Search function here is a great resource.

  • When I import .mov file to Idvd I lose audio in certain clips

The .mov file I can paly everything fine thru quicktime but on import to Idvd I lose audio on some of the clips. Why? all the boxes are checked on the I movie.

Where did your .mov file orginate from? If it came from a camcorder or a digital still camera that takes MPEG movies, then you need two pieces of software to separate the audio from the .mov file. First, download the Free MPEG Streamclip (do a Google search), and once you download that, there will be a link to download the $20 Apple MPEG Streamclip plug-in for Quicktime. MPEG Streamclip is brilliant in that it will convert your MPEG .mov file back to a DV file for proper input into iMovie for editing while the QT plug-in will separate the audio. In it's original form, the audio to your MPEG movie is imbedded into the video. QT will play it fine, but iMovie needs to have it separated.

  • Audio and video clip lengths differ in encore timeline

    Hi
I have been working to build a BD-R H.263 ac3 disk.  I used AME from within Premiere Pro to export the M4V and (at the same time) AC3, using the present defualt parameters-no tweaking of any setting.  The clips appear to play great on encore's monitor--everything in sync. And on the burned BD-R
However, I am getting the black screen between clips in the timeline when played in the standalone BD player, or (when I had one clip to a timeline) in a playlist.  a previous poster made note of different length audio and video clips.  I zoomed on the timeline and lo and behold--the  the audio and video clips are different lengths.
This is with the timeline fully expand--each division is a frame. Note that break between the two audio clips is offset from the break between the two video clips by two frames.  This offset is after several clips.  I could find no information on what the one frame crosshatching at the end of the leading clips means.  Can anyone explain this cross hatching?  What do I do about it?  the image below is after the first clip in the timeline:
In this image, the offset is less than a full frame??????
I tried using the trim tools to bring these together-but, the trim tool only lets it jump a full frame and then only to a GOP boundary, which doesn't help because the boundaries are obviously different fro the video and audio track.
I want to emphasize that these assets were created from the Premiere CS4 timeline (which had no offset between audio and video) using the default H.263 and AC3 presets in AME and the same presets selected in Encore.
The offsets do not appear to cause the actual audio and video to go out of sync when I play the burned disk. But, I get the 1-2 second wait between menus and chapters, or with items in a playlist.
The audio offset suggests that the player may not know what to do when faced with a chapter point that is different on the audio and video tracks, although, I will note that encore snapped to the joints in the video track not the audio track.
You can see from this listing that several of the clips audio and video lengths that differ by one frame.  By the end of the timeline, the cummulative offset is 3 seconds (48 minute timeline)
Can anyone shed any light on this?  Thanks

I don't think that I had the same problem that you do, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents just in case it might help. Encore would not build the output; it said something like the inpoint and the length did not match the endpoint. Actually, I think this happened in several different situations. In one case I simply adjusted the audio and video tracks to match endpoints. In the other case I went back to Premier and found that in some cases where I had added transitions it had shifted the endpoints of the audio and video tracks so they did not match. I removed the transitions. It didn't matter that much to me since I'm doing this for personal use. Is it possible those crosshatched lines you're seeing are transitions?
I am using CS 3 and editing HD. I have had many problems with encore. I read in the form someplace that it had a hard time handling H.264 so I changed to MPEG-2 and that fixed one problem. In another case it couldn't find some files and I found some advice not to use HD or wide menus, so I switched to standard 4:3 menus and it worked.

  • Audio (and some video) dropping out export

I've created an project with short video/audio clips sampled to produce "music". It plays OK in FCPX, but when I export it (H.264, 720p, Apple Devices, 44.1) as an MP4, some of the audio (and some video) drops out. That is, it does not show up in the exported (aka "Shared") movie file.
There are about 7-8 things (tracks) going on at once, maximum.
Any ideas what to do to fix this?
    Thanks!

  • Audio clicks where clips join.

With Premiere pro version 1.0, CS3 and now CS6 I get audio clicks where clips join when an effect is added. The click is still there when the sequence is exported.  I shoot XDCAM EX and the camera will split a long recording into 2GB parts. Where these parts join in a sequence, it will playback over the join OK. But if I add an audio effect, such as lowpass, highpass or dynamics to BOTH clips, then when I playback there is a very noticeable click. The same thing happens if I razor a clip (to remove a section) and join the gap back up. However I can fix this with an audio crossfade transition of a few frames in length. I can’t use this trick, when the join is between clips where the camera reached the 2GB limit and has split the clip as there is no overlapping media. Is there a solution to this?
You can test this yourself using Premiere’s bars & tone clip and razor a clip into two.
    Bye Andrew

I have always copied the entire card file / folder structure to the hard drive.
Upon investigating the import options, I think I now see where the problem is. I am using a JVC GY-HM700E camcorder. This is stated to record XDCAM EX in MP4 or .MOV files. I have been using mov files. CS6 won’t combine the individual parts into one clip in the project panel. If I switch to MP4 files, CS6 will import all parts as one file. But the sequence shows a yellow render bar above all the clips. The mov files do not have any render bar over them. That’s why I used mov files rather than MP4 files. Before anyone suggests that the sequence I have used does match the MP4 files, I deliberately set up a wrong sequence, dragged a MP4 file to it, Premiere prompted that the sequence settings were wrong and I let it set the correct sequence settings. The MP4 files still have a yellow render bar over them.
    The Adobe PDF that I looked at;
    http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/premiere/cs6/pdfs/adobe-premiere-pro-cs 6-jvcprohd.pdf
    for info on XDCAM workflows refers to newer models of JVC cameras. The .MOV file / folder structure seems to be different from the 700 camera as this extract tells me;
“The Media Browser makes finding ProHD content simple. ProHD records high-definition and
standard-definition video as MPEG-2 in the ready-to-edit MOV or MP4 file formats. Audio is
recorded using uncompressed linear pulse-code modulation (PCM). ProHD packages video and
audio in different file wrappers and folder structures, with metadata and media stored across
several files. Video and audio are combined into MXF files in a Clip folder. Each shot is stored as an
MOV file that’s placed in its own subfolder along with several metadata files. The individual shot
subfolders are grouped within a CLPR folder that resides within a BPAV folder.”
On the 700 camera all the mov files are in a single folder and some different folder names are used. In MP4 mode, individual files are in their own folders, which is why premiere correctly recognises spanned files.
I guess the answer is to use MP4 files, so long as the yellow render bar does not cause problems.
    Andrew
