No conference softkey on spa 303

We just bought two spa 303 ip phones. There are only 5 softkeys available, none of which is a conference key. How do we find that softkey  and add it to the available choices? Thanks.

Thanks, but here's the problem. When I go to the Admin Login, it requests a username and password. I've never set one up, so I have no idea what to enter. I've tried inserting my username and password for my Cisco.com account, but that doesn't work. I've tried admin/admin and cisco/cisco. Nothing. I'm at a complete loss here, and I can't seem to get any assistance as to how to resolve this issue. If you have an answer, boy would I be appreciative. It's very frustrating trying to get answers. Except for you, of course.

  • Make a Cisco SPA 303 ring by sending a packet through your network?

    Hey Guys,
I was wondering, and I need to know for my business, is there any way at all for me to make my Cisco SPA 303 VOIP Phone to ring by sending a packet through my local network?
I would like to just be able to click a button or send a command throught the command prompt and make it ring, but I don't know if there is any way for this to happen.
    Thank!

    Do you know perl?
I had same issue and I wrote a simple perl script that works as wake up service.
PERL is an interpreted language and so can be executed on Linux and  Windows operating systems. Linux can interpret perl natively while for  Windows you can download many free interpreters like Activeperl or  Strawberry perl. To run the script you must use a third party server.
In my configuration the script runs on a linux server in background as a service and checks every minute the  directory called "alarm", reads files and uses the file name as called  number and checks the content to verify if is the time to call. At the moment the script uses SIP and handles 4 call responses: 404 user  not found, 486 busy, 487 not answer and 200 answer ok.  In every cases sends an email and deletes files. Only for the answer  case plays a nice music.
Files have this particular format: file name is equal to calling  party number and file content is the alarm time in 24 hours format  with : as separator between hours and minutes.
    e.g.
ext. 101 must be called at 8 am ---> write the file 101.txt with the content 08:00
ext. 101 must be called at 8:30 am ---> write the file 101.txt with the content 08:30
There is a limitation: if you activate the Authentication for SIP messages and there are more  then two simultaneous calls, the script sends some INVITEs without  authentication or with wrong checksum and so not all phones ring. This  problem is under investigation.
    Are you intresting?
    Regards.

  • SPA 303 and some kind of Click to Call?

I recently purchased the a single SPA 303 configured to an anveo.com acount - no thrills just one line easy setup for my home office.
I was trying to find some kind of solution so I could click on a phone number on the web and it would automatically dial out from my SPA 303.
Hopefully there's just some program I can install on my computer that can communicate with the SPA 303 without the need for a server.
I saw some stuff regarding CUCME but that seems like an overkill for what I'm trying to do. Also saw some stuff like Call Ctrl which has vanished from the internet (company went bust?).
some users on dslreports forums recommended a script which performs something akin to anveo web call, which places the call to the destination and then to my SPA phone - but frankly that's not what I want.
    Thanks in advance!

sorry the site's Ui was really laggy that day
I found this cool chrome extension called Cisco Dialer.
It works wonderfully with a simple setup (just put in the phone's IP address) hover over a gmail contact's number and a little phone pops up on the right hand side - click it and it automatically dials it through your cisco phone. I just wish this extension was chrome wide, not just for gmail contacts.

  • Cisco SPA 303

Recently I tried hooking up a SPA 303 phone in our office with the help of our provider Active PBX our support. We got through most of the process when the phone popped up a message in the screen "SOS Phone in Recovery Mode". Together we tried everything to the phone to correct whatever happened even tried to update the firmware and nothing. So I called Cisco and I was informed that the warranty had expired 10/2013 on this phone. So my question can an engineer from Cisco help me with fixing the phone or would we need to purchase another phone? Please help need phone ASAP.

You need no Cisco engineer help for something like it.
Recovery utility is packed within ZIP with firmware, so download the firmware, unpack and run  spa50x-30x-*-recovery.exe on Windows computer connected to the same local network as broken phone and follow the instructions.
The only magic is the selection of recovery firmware version. It depend on version of SOS recovery loader. I wish the 7.4.9c firmware should work for you.
When you phone become recovered to 7.4.9c, you should upgrade it to 7.5.2b and then to 7.5.6 (it can't be done in one step).

  • Programming softkeys on SPA phones

I have several SPA509G phones running the SIP protocol with asterisk. I am able to configure the phones via their built in web interface and get them to register and make calls. However I cannot find any documentation on customizing the softkeys. I need to change the keys from their defaults to add selections like park etc. Via the webgui of the phone there is a section for programmable softkeys but changing those settings does not seems to have an effect it also is not clear on how to tell it what each button is doing. Either web based config or xml will do but I just cannot find the documentation. Thanks.

    Hi All
One way to achieve this works fine (I think):
    1)     In Regional Tab note down the DND Act Code and DND Deact Code (ie *09 for act and *10 for deact)
    2)     In Regional Tab Enter the Virtacal Service Announcement Code section
            * Service Annc Base Number as the prefix to dial (on your PBX)
            * In Service Annc Extension Code add DDT:x;DDT:y where x and y are the suffixes appended to the prefix you dial to enable and disable DND on the server,  IE use something like 9998 for the prefix and 1 and 2 for the suffix, so 99981 enables DND and 99982 disables DND.
    3)     Now for some reason Cisco don't send these codes when you press the generic dnd/-dnd Softkeys so you need to remove these and program your own to replace them.   Luckily as of firmwere 7.5.3 cisco support dual states on psk's so you can have a + and - version of the same key:
    4)     Phone tab.
         Programable softkeys enable = yes
         PSK 1:     fnc=sd;ext=*09;nme=DND;ext2=*10; nme2=-DND
(note the *09 and *10 are from the regional tab on the DND Act and DND Deact code)
Under the Idle key list find the dnd|8 and replace it with psk1|8  to get rid of the generic internal dnd softkey.
    save and reboot.
Now you still have DND on your idle soft keys, press it, your phone should both set DND, change the soft key to "-DND" and add "Do Not Disturb" across the screen panel.  Most importantly the phone will now auto dial 99981@$proxy and the switch now knows the DND state.  Press the  -DND softkey and the phone will disable DND locally and also dial the switch telling it dnd is now off.
I'm 99% this is what people have been asking for? Essentially local dnd support with server notification not having to dial the crazy *codes to make it all work?
    Cheers
    Mark

  • New Cisco IP SPA 303 - not sure how to use

I received this phone as a gift (long story) but since its an IP phone, I am not sure I have a use for it. I have comcast triple play, and use the old style phone to connect to the jack on the comcast cable modem. However I would like to take advantage of what seems to be alot more features on this IP phone, but it didn't take long to realize just plugging the SW port into my router would do anything outside of assign the phone an IP address.
Can someone spare me the thought of disappointing someone and having to return this phone and tell me how I can make use of it? Its specifially for my home office. For example, do I have to subscribe to a VOIP provider and inherit yet another gadget adapter for my desktop? I looked at vonage and the device they use seems to be the same technology as comcast with the rj45 jack.
    Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure about connecting it via Comcast Triple Play, but you can use it via Voip, and there are some well recommended inexpensive voip services. Usomo for example, have monthly rates from £2.99 for a basic service, whereas others such as VoipTalk have a business package of £29 if you wanted to use the 303 as a switchboard but my first guess is that you're looking to use it as a single user phone?

  • SPA 30x and 50x - show miss state when call was pickup

    Hello
do you know, how to show on display miss state (softkey miss) when call was pickup in pickup group.
My IP phone is SPA 303 and 502, and 922 but SPA 922 is showing miss state well.
    Server is Asteriks.
    Marek

Call completed elsewhere has not been missed, so SPA922 is on the wrong side ...
If the line is declared as shared AND call is CANCELed with
    Reason: SIP;cause=200;text="Call completed elsewhere"
then no missed call is logged.
I'm not sure if you can configure Asterisk not to use this Reason in such particular case. If I remember correctly, there is and option of Dial() Application for it ...
Of course, unless you have User->Supplementary Services->Log Missed Calls for extension in question set to "Yes" no missed calls are logged at all.

  • Trying to cet up configuration of new 303 phone - asls for username and password

    Hi
    (UK user here)
I have just had installed a BT VOIP line on my broadband.
I have bought a Cisco SPA 303 phone to use on it.  This is plugged in and I can see that it is connecting to the DHCP server etc.
When i use the browser based utility to setup the phone (i.e. I type in 192.168.1.68 - the phone's IP address) it opens the simple utility page on the phone OK, but as soon as i try to save any of the SIP information to make the phone work, it requests a username ("spa user") and password when I want to setup the phone with the domains etc.
In documentation and online here I can only find reference to 'admin' and 'admin' as username and password, but these don't work.
I have done a factory reset on the phone menu; in the browser it still asks for username and password.
Help please?  Or should I just bite the bullet and order the BT provided pre-configured handset instead?

ACTUALLY Now realise the question you ask is different from the solution/issue I report on here, that after I unlocked my Cisco phones they still wouldn't work properly with the BT VOIP service (I say service but really it should be called a 'disgrace').  See below for what i remember about unlocking:
Oh, I didn''t really solve it - turned out that the BT service uses proprietary code in their VOIP service, so we could never get the Ciscos set up properly. Furthermore the solution BT had sold me was duff, they hadn't listened to my needs and requirements (one of which was multiple extensions able to transfer calls etc, which the simple BT service couldn't do).
Instead I cancelled the BT service and got back all the line charges etc as they agreed it had been misrepresented.  I then subscribed to a VOIP service provider called Voipfone, based in London Docklands, who got me up and running in about 20 minutes from start to finish, using the Ciscos!!!  I cannot praise their levels of service and knowledge enough, I have converted all our company's lines into VOIP and use them, it is cheap and excellent.  If you want more info just give me a shout.
    Admin username and password.
I am struggling to remember what I did now.  I think it was making a complete factory reset, after which I think there is no password you just point browser at <ip address>/admin
But how did I do a reset when it is protected by the password that has been set?  I think I found a series of commands to put in the phone directly (rather than via browser) to reset it.  Sorry for my confusion but it was over a year ago.  It is certainly do-able, because I managed it.
But I stand by my answer above, seriously, bin BT and go to VOIPfone (or another 3rd party offering full hosted sip, my experience with them has so far been excellent.

  • SRST Error ="You do not have a 2nd line"

We are having issues making conference calls in SRST.
We are running MGCP on a 2901 router which is configured for fallback.
When the router is in SRST, user gets an error like " you do not have additional line" when he tries to make a 2nd call (when he presses the conference softkey)
Do we have a concept of dual-line and octo-line here since this is not a CME?
    Please suggest.

    I think i found the answer -
    I think i need "max-dn 10 dual-line"  where 10 is just an example.

  • Called DID not displayed

    Dear Cisco community,
we are using a SIP trunk with 5 DIDs. Is there a way to see the line (DID) that has been called on the display of a SPA 303? We can only see the caller ID (twice, one line with +44 as prefix and a second line with 9xxxx). Routing, call hunting, shared extensions and everything else works perfectly.
I really hope that this is possible, we need to be able to see which inbound line (DID) has been called to answer the call correctly.
    Thanks for your help!
    Sebastian

    Hi Sabastian,
The phone LCD only displays the caller ID, who is calling. It can not display the number which is called.
You can click "Add Specified Number" to add DIDs on "Inbound Calls" page of the configuration utility, then select the different routing destinations for the different DIDs, so that you can answer the call correctly for the different DIDs being called.
    Hope it helps.
    Best regards,

  • Cisco 7942 + SIP Provider

    Hello!
Can the Cisco 7942 with SIP Firmware used as standalone SIP device?
I mean can it works with SIP provider through NAT, like it can Cisco SPA-303?

There has been a discussion on this before.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11955621/register-cisco-phone-7942-external-voip-provider
However, there was no conclusion to it.
This discussion here talked about registering 7942 with Asterisk.
    http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Telecommunications/IP_Telephony/Q_26895490.html
Since Asterisk is a 3rd party PBX, this shows that the phone CAN register with SIP firmware with a Provider. However, you will have to work extensively with the provider to get this done.
For instance, you need to create a custom cnf.xml file for the phone to download. To do this you'll need to copy the configuration from the CUCM, and then modify it as per your needs. Apart from this, the firmware files should also be located on the TFTP server that you're pointing to on the phone.
Also, you need to make sure that the provider doesn't have any mechanism on their side to block messages going out from the phone to their end. Packet captures would help you here.
There isn't a guarantee that this would work, but you can definitely try it.
    Thanks

  • Setting up Skype Connect with SPA303

    Hi,
I just purchased a Cisco SPA 303 and I am trying to get it set up with skype connect. I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly apprieated.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hello Jason,
I took a look at the Skype Connect documentation, and it looks like you need to enter the SIP credentials you get when you create a new profile in Skype Connect into the SPA303.
The information you are looking for is a proxy address (Skype calls this a Skype Connect address) as well as a user name and password for that profile.
Then you can login to the administrative website of the SPA303 and enter this information in the Proxy and Registration section of the Ext tab.
Skype doesn't mention anything other than those settings and UDP port 5060, which is the default on the SPA303.
