"No data available" in BEx Query

There seems to be some serious issue. I created a Query but when i execute it, It returns me with an error like "no applicable data found" or 'no data available" or sometimes it is returning some weird data.  The issue here is that i don't have the authorization to execute the transaction RSA1 and check whether the Infocube is "Available for reporting". So I asked someone who was authorized to execute RSA1 and check the Infocube and he found no problems with the Cube.

Hi Rishi,
Can you please tell me what you have done to fix this problem.
I am running into same issue in our production. This was working all these days and suddenly the no applicable data is coming.
I appreciate if you can send an email to [email protected]
Thanks a lot for your time.

  • Error while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query

The following error is coming while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query (on ODS) when the Characters are more than 50.
In BEx report there is a limitation but is it also a limitation in Webi report.
Is there any other solution for this scenario where it is possible to retrieve more than 50 Characters?
A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query SELECT  { [Measures].[3OD1RJNV2ZXI7XOC4CY9VXLZI], [Measures].[3P71KBWTVNGY9JTZP9FTP6RZ4], [Measures].[3OEAEUW2WTYJRE2TOD6IOFJF4] }  ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( [ZHOST_ID2].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS, [ZHOST_ID3].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZHOST_ID1].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZREVENDDT__0CALDAY].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ) ........................................................ failed to execute with the error Invalid MDX command with UNSUPPORTED: > 50 CHARACT.. (WIS 10901)

    Hi,
That warning / error message will be coming from the MDX interface on the BW server.  It does not originate from BOBJ.
This question would be better asked to support component BW-BEX-OT-MDX

  • Date Filter in BEx Query not applied to Webi Document

    Hi
I have a simple BEx Query on 0MATERIAL - with Article (0MATERIAL) and Created On Date (0CREATEDON) characteristics in the Rows and 1ROWCOUNT key figure in the columns.
If I restrict the BEx Query on 0MATERIAL to a single value, only that particular record is returned when I run the query in WebI - which shows Article and Created On Date.
However, if I restrict the BEx Query to a specific 0CREATEDON date, the WebI report ignores this restriction and returns ALL records in the InfoProvider 0MATERIAL.
If I run the BEx Query in the web, only those records with the particular restricted date are returned, so why does the WebI report ignore the BEx Query date restriction?  Any ideas where I am going wrong?
    Thanks
    Anton

    Hi Victor
Thanks for the reply.  It turns out even after refreshing the universe structure and exporting I had to shut down Webi and reopen it for the changes (date restriction) to take effect.
But thanks for the headsup on that bug/SAP note anyway - it is helpful to know.

  • Last GR Date in the Bex Query

    Hello Experts,
I have one requirement in BW, where I need to get the last GR (Goods Receipt) date.
In my query, I will be having 4 KEY Fields and 1 CHR Field
    CHR Field is “ 0MATERIAL
KEY Field is  : Closing Stock Qty , Closging Stock Value, GR Value, and Last GR Date
I am using 0PUR_C01 and 0IC_C03  info provider for this query. Now my concern is, how do i get the “Last GR Dates”.
No matter to which date I execute the report, it should always shows the latest date on when we have done the last GR.
For example.. I executed the query as on 31/Dec/2013.. But the last GR date should be let’s say 03/April/2014.

  • Opendoc date range into Bex query

We are having an issue when trying to pass a date range in an Opendoc link. The report is built off a BEx query,  within the report we have an Opendoc link into a child version of the report. I can pass all the other prompts with no issue except for one which is the date range.
I am defining the date range as "[19000101]..[19000101]" but we keep getting this error message:

  • Can Business Objects Web Intelligency reports access NearLine Storage data Via BW Bex Query

    Hi Gurus,
I am aware BEX queries can access NearLine Storage data for reporting but can Business Objects Web Intelligency reports access NearLine Storage data Via BICS connection ( Bex Query as a Source).
    Thanks,
    Shak.

I would recommend to let your SAP Basis guys do a security trace on the SAP BW side and see if some authorization check for the user fails when trying to fetch data over the universe.

  • KM Document InfoProvider Data Assignment from BEx Query

    Hello,
I am trying to create a document in a BEx query that applies to the combination of characteristics in the report but can be viewed by other queries on that same InfoProvider.  When I create the document, it is automatically assigned the InfoProvider name and Query name.  How do I change the default assignments for new documents so that it is query agnostic?  In the link below I'm trying to replicate the scenario "InfoProvider ABC"

  • Data not available in BEx query

    Dear All,
I have loaded data and it was showing proper data. Queries are based on MultiProvider.
But now data is showing in MultiProvider but not in BEx queries. I have deleted all the data and re loaded but not working.
    Plz help ASAP.
    Regards,
    SS

Yes and filters are working fine.
When i debugged the issue, i found that this is becaus eof Nav attributes. If i am removing Nav attributes from the query it is working fine.
Strangely, the same attributes are switched on in another MultiProvider and queries from that MultiProvider is working fine.
    Plz help ASAP.

  • User Prompt for Date Range in Bex Query Analyzer

I have a workbook that has two queries. The queries both require the user to enter a date range upon refresh. I want the user to be able to hit refresh, enter the date input into the dialog box and then both queries to use this date range for their input. I have seen this in other book, but when I click refresh on my book it only runs the first query. How do I get the second query to use the first queries input?

use the same variable in both the queries. this will let the user enter the date in a single variable and this will refresh both the queries.

  • Input TXT data into a BEx Query

    Hi BW Experts,
I am using BI 7.0 at present.  I have a set of users who would like to view a query results and then against a result line add text data.  The requirement is that this text data is written back to the cube and updates the information held in the cube.
I know that this initially can be facilitated by using a transactional/real time info cube and a planning/input enabled query.  However it looks like that by using this IP functionality that only Key Figures can be updated/input in the query so TXT in a Char is not possible.  If I am not wrong, this is because when planning users are inputting KF values and never need to update Char data such as txt.
Does anyone have any ideas on how this functionality of having a report but then inputting some text which is written back to the cube can be facilitated?
    Thanks
    DV

    Hi Ian
We would like to have one master query that users update data through.  So the data is upadted in a cube and the one query reports this so there is only one version of the truth, warehoused in one place.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks

  • Using master data attribute in BEx Query u0096 formula

    Hello,
I want to use the master data attribute (Eg. Customer master 0CUSTOMER, 0ALTITUDE (Geo Location Height)) in query formula calculation. How do I do this?
    Please help me.
    Thank you
    Subbu

    Hi Subramaniam,
You can definately use the master data attributes in the formula calculation if that is a numeric value (logically u can use a characteristic in formula).
for e.g Net weight from 0MATERIAL can be used through formula variable in formula but Color is a characteristic and there is no point in using that in a formula.

  • Error: No data available while executing BEx query

    thanks

    Hi,
Pl check for the Filter Conditions of the query.Have the same filters data  as that in the Cube/ODS.
Hw is the Data Flow ???
A)From ODS to Cube to Query ????
    or
    B)From ODS
    or
    C)From Cube
1)Check on which Infoprovider the Query is built.
2)If it is Cube then Check the data in the Cube.Right click Cube ,Display data and Execute.
3)If data is avaliable in cube then it shud come in Query except for the Filter conditions .
4)then check for the Filter conditions of the query.
5)If data is not avaliable in Cube then check in ODS ????
6))If data is not avaliable in ODS then check in PSA
7))If data is not avaliable in PFA then check in R/3.
Also search in SDN as to how the Data flows
    A) both from Flat File and
B)R/3 and FULL and DElta Load.
That will give clear uinderstanding  !!!!!

  • Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query

    Hi
I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/02/19/businessobjects-and-sap-part-2
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    take a look here:
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/02/19/businessobjects-and-sap-part-2
make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

  • Two problmes between  Crystal Reports 2008 and Bex Query

    Hi Gurus.
I have two problems with Crystal Reports 2008 when It obtains data from a Bex Query (SAP MDX query connection).
    1)     I have defined some Parameters Fields using the follow options:
    Type: String
    List of Values: Dynamic
    Value Options Level1:
                         Show on (Viewer) Panel :Editable
                          Prompt text: <text>
                          Sort Order: Ascending by value
Prompt With description Only : False
                          Optional Prompt: True
                          Allow multiple values: True
                          Allow discrete values: True
                          Allow range values: False
When I execute the report with the client of Crystal Reports 2008 (the developer tool), in the initial screen shows a list box where I can select the values from the left box and add it to the left box (as a usually filter). When the number of options (LOV) is more than  the maximum of the system, I have a input box bellow the list box, where I can insert any value (manually) and a button to insert it into the left box. When I publish the Report in the infoview, this filter is modified and the input box where I can introduce manually values is not showed and I can insert only the values showed in the list box, it causes that I can`t select a lot of values that is in the master data of SAP BW, because they arenu2019t listed in the list box.
There is any option to ability this option in the infoview.
    2)     My Bex query, have a date filter with variable in the restricted key figures, when I execute a Crystal Reports, the infoview (and the Crystal Reports 2008 designer) ask me 2 times the same date, first only the date and second the date and the rest of parameters (introduced in the report of Crystal Reports).
Why I need insert the date 2 times? How can I modify the Crystal Report for ask me only one time all the parameters?.
    Thanks.

    Hi Abhilash.
    Thank you for your information.
    1) Yes, the parameters are created in the Crystal Reports designer. I have created the parameters in the Crystal Report because I use the same Bex Query to create some Crystal Report, in other case, I will need create some Bex Query.
2)The Bex query has the date filters and I have created some filters in Crystal Reports designer, the date filter from the Bex query is created automatically in the Crystal Report Designer but I don't use it, I haven't created it anytime. I use my filters only in the record selection. The date filters from the Bex query is showed as Static, and I can`t delete it, if I modify the parameter to dynamic or static with values, at first step ask me again static without values and the second step of the report execution ask me the parameter as I have defined in Crystal Reports Designer, my parameters fields are dynamic. A lot of reports have subreport, but I have created one of them without subreport (to trial) and the Crystal Reports ask me the date filters at first execution, and when I insert the date filters, in the second step, ask me the date filters again and my parameters fields again.
    Thank you again.

  • Issue with status of data information in Bex analyzer report

    Hi BI gurus,
One of the queries showing older date for the "status of data" information in the report of Bex Analyzer. I have tried to correct it in Bex analyzer by removing existing Text information element and adding a new Text element in the Bex Analyzer designer for the query. But it doesn't worked out as the changes made to the query through Bex Analyzer are only being saved as a local work book rather than reflecting to the query. Please suggest me with some options to resolve this issue and give any Idea to correct the "Status of data" in the Bex Query designer.

    Hi Aditya
This is a common problem faced by users when reporting on Multi-Provider.
In my project what I did to overcome this is to run a Fake DTP to the cube whose status is creating problem.
Like , if under MultiPro I have a planning cube which is only updated monthly but all the actual cubes updated daily.  In this case create a DTP under Plan cube with some impossible selection condition ( like fiscal year 2099). This will bring 0 records to planning cube ( and thereby not impacting the data) but will update the last loading time.

    Anindya
