No Forum Access For 24hours

I've just got back in after a gap of about 24 hours. No problems with my machine,or the two browsers I use,all other websites worked perfectly,only Adobe was unavailable.
Anyone else have the same problem ? If not any suggestions as to a reason ?

UNICODE system access for further development of connectors

As there has been a bit of activity on the forums around issues with UNICODE and the various Scripting Language connectors, I'd like sort this out for Perl, Python and Ruby.
Unfortunately I do not have access to a UNICODE based system, so I have never been able to persue this.
Is there anyone (in particular someone at SAP - really) who could arrange access for me so that this work can be done - This is something that is in the interests of the community, so it's a chance for someone to make a contribution (hint hint and turning of screws etc. :-).
All that is required is basic development access ie. ABAP developer work bench, and the ability to run, monitor, and debug RFC calls.

Hello everyone - I have spent a busy month reengineering saprfc for Ruby, including rewrtting a large portion of the C code, introduce comprehensive UNICODE support. This support inclues the use of librfcu, and libsapu16 supplied by SAP for UNICODE support in RFC. As I do not have access to a UNICODE enabled system, I have had to make do in a large part, by emulating conditions to get this code to a point where it can be community tested (thanks also goes to Gregor for loaning his environment also).
For the brave - please download from http://www.piersharding.com/download/ruby/saprfc-0.20.tar.gz and follwo the instructions in the README file, paying particular attention to the requirements for the UNICODE version of the RFCSDK, and retireving the u16lit.pl script from OSS.
And help with the testing.

Something you should be aware of is the frequency of IP address change at your father's location. Providers of residential broadband services lease an IP address for a certain duration which you have no control over and is purely arbitrary. You may be familiar with these changes?
The point is sometimes these addresses change regularly (4 hours to every few days) and sometimes they stay the same for a longer period of time such as a year or more.
Because of the nature of this change you may find you can remote assist your father one day but not the next. The situation is easily rectified with a simple phonecall to your father. He can tell you what IP address he's using by launching his browser and clicking this link:
http://myipaddress.com
He gives you his new IP address and you should be able to make a successful connection again.
Be aware IP addresses handed out by ISPs are known as routable. IP addresses handed out by Firewalls/Routers/Gateway devices such as Apple's Airport Express Base Station etc are not routable. Assuming you've not changed anything in the devices they will always be one of these three ranges: 192.168.1.x; 10.x.x.x and 172.16.16.x. You don't use any of these last three group of addresses to make the connection over the public external (internet) network but you do use them when on the same private internal network.

No write access for iTunes media folder

Every time I try to download updates to iPod Touch applications or purchase music, I get the message "iTunes couldn't download your purchase. You don't have write access for your iTunes media folder or a folder within it." This was working prior to approximately December 20, 2010. I have searched for answers and every single thing I've tried has failed.
I have made sure that my user owns all the files in the iTunes media folder and has write permissions. In fact, I have ensured the user has write permissions for all directories both above and below this directory.
I have removed C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1277 .
I have moved my iTunes folder to a new one (off the root directory, e.g. C:\foo) as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364 .
I have even created a new user account, which also has the issue.
I am running iTunes 10.1.1 on Windows 7 on a 64-bit AMD Sempron laptop. I have made no significant software changes prior to this problem appearing, though regular Windows and iTunes updates are routinely applied. The device I'm attempting to use is a second generation iPod Touch, but that doesn't really matter - it doesn't need to be connected for the issue to occur.
I apologize for being quite the Windows luser. This is my partner's computer - I'm a Unix and Mac guy.

The above code is used to fetch all Cities in the table. But when There is another table e.g "TBCountries" I have to write another method to get all countries. So each time almost same code but just table and parameters are changing.

Now Its working fine but I have tested with 10,00,000 Records in TBCities Table following are the result.
1. The Traditional method took almost 58 - 59 - 58 - 59 - 59 seconds for 5 time
2. The Generic Method is took 1.4 - 1.3 - 1.5 - 1.4 - 1.4 [minute.seconds]
So by the results of test is generic method is probably slower in performance [because its have 3 foreach loops] but the data is very big almost 10,00,000 lakes records. So it might work good in lower records.
1. So My question is can I used this method for real world applications ?? Or is there any performance optimization for this method?
2. Also we can use this for the ASP.NET C# projects??

Q1:It is not reasonable compared Generic Code with Traditional Code. The main issue not Generic.
After take a look at your Generic Code. Reflection code get slower in performance.
TB = Activator.CreateInstance<T>();
As Reflection is truly late bound approach to work with your types, the more Types you have for your single assembly the more slow you go on. Basically few people try to work everything based on Reflection. Using reflection unnecessarily will make your application
very costly.

Access for Servers tab

We need to give access for Instance manager and Server tab to a group in BOBJ CMC . Access for Instance manger is arranged . I tried to maintain user security for each server node in under Servers tab , but not able to view Servers tab under a specific login .
Any Idea how it could be done ?

Need advice in writing forum component for a GUI application

I need to write a forum component for a GUI application, that is a visual component that would have all the usual forum functionality - creating threads, posting replies, editing, logging in, etc. I'm planning to use some existing forum engine on a JBoss/Tomcat server. So I do not need a web-interface for a forum, but I need find some engine written in java with a clear interface that I could use in my app. I tried JForum (http://www.jforum.net) first, but it seems it doesn't have open API I could utilize.
Could anyone please suggest appropriate engine, possibly anyone knows of open-source forum GUI apps I can look at?

Subscription access # for 206?

Hi-- Does anyone have the old subscription access number for Seattle, 206?
When I first started using the subscriptions they gave you a local access # for wherever you wanted, which you dialed & then called whoever you wanted. Now, as best as I can understand through the mind-bogglingly inept customer service, they don't give those out anymore, but if you have one from before it still works. If not, you can only use subscriptions by entering a skype-to-go listing & getting the local number they give you for each listing you have. So that means a maximum of 9 before you have to go online to enter another number. Does this jibe with other people's understanding of how it all works? thanks--Mark

Take a look at the user policy settings for the web application. I suspect someone has added a User Policy that covers the user which denies all these permissions. The User Policy at the web app level is the only place where you can deny permissions.
But that setting applies to every site collection in the web application and takes precedence over every other setting.

If you are not already doing so, install from an Administrator account.
If you haven't already done so, download the iTunes Installer from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Then right click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator." (Even though you are using an admin account).
If that doesn't work, try creating a new administrator account and installing from there.

Can we give UNIQUE ACCESS FOR THE SPECIFIC FILE IN THE LIBRARY in SP2013? How can we remove users from SHARED WITH link where files are shared with users?

Hi srabon,
For giving unique access for a specific file in a library, you can go to the library, and select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED, under PERMISSION ribbon, click ‘Stop Inheriting Permissions’, then the file will have unique permissions.
For removing the shared users for a file, firstly, like the above steps, select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED , make sure the file has unique access, then select the users that you want to remove, and click Remove User Persmissions
under PERMISSIONS ribbon.

Restrict read/edit access for a Manager, when Manager Visibility is enabled

Customer wants to restrict read/edit access for a Manager on his/her subordinates' owned record, if manager Visibility is enabled at the company level.
For example: If SM1 is a manager of SR1 and SM1 owner profile says that he has Edit Access on his owned records then, he will get Edit Access
on the records owned by his sales rep.
Current requirement here is Manager should not be able to edit the records of his sales rep but should able to only View. And manager also
need the Edit/Read access on the records which they owned.
Is there a possible workaround ?

I have devised this to our customer:
First, create a custom text field named "Reports To" on the object, say, Accounts.
Second, user JoinFieldValue to set a default value for the "Reports To" field: equal to the "Reports To" User field value for the current owner.
Third, add a new value named "Manager Read-Only" to 'Account Type' picklist. make sure that this picklist value is active.
Fourthly, add a new page layout marking all Account Fields as 'read-only' and name it "Account Read-Only layout".
Fifthly, create a new Account Dynamic Layout and set "Account Read-Only layout"
for Field Type = "Manager Read-Only".
Sixthly, create a new workflow rule condition for Account object ( before modified record saved ). Use the workflow rule condition similar to UserValue('<Alias>') = [<ReportsTo>] and set the workflow action to update 'Account Type' picklist value to
"Manager Read-Only".
This is just an example. Customer needs to improvise on this.

This happened to me as well. I read somewhere else that resetting the network settings (General, Reset, Reset Network Settings) would help and it partially did. I get half (the folders) of the Web Access screen rather than a blank screen. I tried tihs a few more times and got the right half (the messages) on occasion but never the whole web page.
